I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

When typing in a website address www.example.com the browser auitomatically inserts https. This is fine, but does so when there is no https version of the site it goes to "we cant reach this page." Then have to manually remove the s and then it's fine.

How do l get my browser type in only the https sites. My roommate thinks if I don't use the https. Then we are going to be hacked, jacked or who knows. Please can someone shed some light on this for me. Thank you

A:https?

Oh dear, nope, it's not true, https connections are just for passwords, websites come across encrypted in https mode and decrypted when the site gets a handshake from your pc, it's just a more secure way of entering form info and passwords, but to be honest, if your computer isn't secure on the virus front, the https connection is irrelevant.

Hello.
I'm running W10 and IE11. Earlier my internet connection went down but now has come back up. There is a noise problem on my line and the disconnection is expected behaviour. But, since the connection came back my browser will only access https capable sites, no http. This is a pain because a lot of my Favourites are http only. As a matter of fact, even some https sites wont download. There are far too many of these instances to be just sites going down etc. Does this sound like a setting has changed somewhere, or maybe could the poor connection be causing an issue, even though everything was working as normal until the system went down for a while, and the noise problem is not new.
Cheers

Verify that Internet Explorer Is Using 128-Bit Encryption:

In Internet Explorer, on the Help menu, click About Internet Explorer
The level of encryption on your computer appears next to the words Cipher Strength.

Security has always been critical to the web, but challenges involved in site migration have inhibited HTTPS adoption for several years. In the interest of a safer web for all, at Google we?ve worked alongside many others across the online ecosystem to better understand and address these challenges, resulting in real change. A web with ubiquitous HTTPS is not the distant future. It?s happening now, with secure browsing becoming standard for users of Chrome.

Today, we?re adding a new section to the HTTPS Report Card in our Transparency Report that includes data about how HTTPS usage has been increasing over time. More than half of pages loaded and two-thirds of total time spent by Chrome desktop users occur via HTTPS, and we expect these metrics to continue their strong upward trajectory.
Percentage of pages loaded over HTTPS in Chrome

As the remainder of the web transitions to HTTPS, we?ll continue working to ensure that migrating to HTTPS is a no-brainer, providing business benefit beyond increased security. HTTPS currently enables the bestperformance the web offers and powerful features that benefit site conversions, including both new features such as service workers for offline support and web push notifications, and existing features such as credit card autofill and the HTML5 geolocation API that are too powerful to be used over non-secure HTTP. As with all major site migrations, there are certain steps webmasters should take to ensure that search ranking tra... Read more

Try clearing your cache, Are you getting interrupts with your internet service? I believe Citrix will complain if your internet drops out while connected. Try running CCleaner, it will clear out all of your internet cache and other junk sitting on your machine.

Hello,
I come from the Norton community that led me to you about attack of a serious trojan.
Here is a nth case of "HTTPS TidServ" attack that personally I discover being novice in this regard.
I understood that this type of trojan causes serious problems, and belongs to the class of Rootkit, TDSS or TDL3 viruses.
Of course, my system is infected, periodically, Norton indicating attacks,I did a full scan via Norton Internet Security, without result.
I already used Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool, and RegistryBooster-Uniblue to check the system, the first one didn't identify the problem and the second one pointed out problems but I did not try to repair via this program. I did not try any other solution for now.
I wonder what I have to do to eradicate this very serious "nuisance".
Thanks for your help,

Hello, I'm new here and I want to apologize for any mistake in my English. It's not my native language. Please guys, be patient with my English and hope you try to understand what I'm talking about.

Well, I have the latest Firefox version and want to know why Firefox always lost the https connection with secure websites? In the latest version (36.0.1) it seems became worse than previous versions. What I'm saying is that websites that use https, in Firefox for some reason it can't stay with the secure navigation always on, because the lock icon became a ! (exclamation) icon and always says the webpage is not encrypted at all.

Other browsers don't do this and always stay with https on. So what's the problem with Firefox? I like this browser but this issue is pissing me of.

A:Question about https

No mistakes, and a good question that I also would like to know, mainly because I hadn't ever checked.
You are aware that many sites only use HTTPS for the secure logon and revert to none secure for the rest of the site.
I will have to check this next time I go to my bank site.

Hi, Please help how to block the https prtocals in cisco router??

A:Block Https

I'm not sure about blocking the protocol, but I believe it runs on TCP port 443, which you could block. I'm not so good with networking, though, which is probably where this should be, so I can't say that's a guaranteed fix. May I ask why you want to block it? Blocking that could cause legitimate sites to stop working, and would keep you from using secure logins on any sites you may need people on your network to use, which would make them more vulnerable to password sniffing and such. If you are just looking to block a few sites that use HTTPS, you should probably try to find another fix. Just my $.02.

Hello. I posted this in the Avast forum, but I know some of you are gurus in here too so? Just today I started getting "Your Connection Is Not Private attackers might be trying to steal your information when opening Chrome to my homepage Start.me or going to a few different "reputable" websites. Not Secure is in the search field to the left of the URL address. When I remove the check mark from enable HTTPS scanning under Web Shield everything works fine again. At first I thought it may be Zemana AntiLogger, so I shut it down and wasn't running it in real time. Maybe a recent update? I think there was a problem like this a few years ago with Avast HTTPS scanning and Firefox, but it was corrected after an update. Just curious if anyone else has had this happen? I don't like leaving it unchecked. It works OK with the Edge browser, but I don't have Firefox installed. I also disabled the Avast Online Security extension, but it didn't help. Thanks.

I wasn't sure whether to post this in Networking or here, so I did both. I apologize in advance if I should not have done so...

1) Assuming I have my own web server, how difficult is it to set up an https page?

2) Is it possible to set up an https page so that (non-secure) http pages would load in a frame such that the insecure data gets transmitted securely?

The impetus for this is that I when I access certain webpages from work - my personal (web-based) e-mail being a prime example - I *really* don't like the thought that members of our corporate IT department have clear, unencrypted access to my (personal/private) e-mail/data/etc.

I know there are remote access programs that would allow me to tunnel in to my machine at home, but our firewall at work is very restrictive.

There must be some way to do this...

A:Questions about https

I don't believe that you can do what you want.
To setup the HTTPS you need either a certificate issued by an trusted authority, or you can generate one on your webserver and just have to "accept" the security warning everytime, or install it on every machine you want to "trust" the site. As far as encrypting the unsecured data, it stays unsecured unless you use vpn software (very difficult if you have ports blocked on a company firewall) ]

Maybe you could setup some type of remote desktop running on port 80 on your home machine. Then use your machine's browser to access your email. To do this may require software that your company may not allow.

Being one of "those" IT guys: (not to offend, just offer my two cents)

1. I wouldn't have time to even try to capture packets or screen shots of every person that works at my job.

2. Unless they were suspective of doing something (wasting company time, resources) not appropriate, would they even ask that this task be done.

3. Most companies let you know up front that they "can" and "will" go through electronic transmissions, but rarely would do something so drastic.

4. If you don't want people to "see" it, then maybe you could wait to do it at home or an internet cafe (which is far worse than your work!)

What I don't understand, is why your ISP webmail is not https anyway? Most ISP's with webmail use this to prevent giving out login information ... Read more

Just change the passwords for the sites mentioned. And if the same password is used at any other site, change that too, because hackers will try the compromised password first.

Welcome to TSG! Is this one of the things you tried?:http://mellasviews.hubpages.com/hub/Easy-Fix-For-HTTP-Port-80-HTTPS-Port-443-and-FTP-21

A search I did found a few (fairly old) results that claimed to 'fix' this, assuming it's Internet Explorer that's causing the problem. At least two of the fixes involve checking the LAN settings under 'Internet Options' and either unchecking all the boxes (or just the Proxy Server option), depending which one you read.

I have no idea if any of the suggested solutions actually work so, if you use them, it must be at your own risk. If you create a Restore Point before you try them you should be able to undo anything that makes things worse.

Hi, Welcome to TSF.

What version of IE are you using please? (Check in Help, About)

Please can you also go into Tools / Internet Options / Security, and post a screen shot of that window back here?
