I just received an email reportedly from HP Support [email protected] It states to be a critical security bulletin-Aug 10 2016. It saysProducts: HP ProBook Notebook PCs, HP Pavilion Notebook PCs, HP x2 PCs, HP EliteBook Notebook PCs, HP Mobile Thin ClientsDescription: A security vulnerability identified with UEFI firmware, dubbed ThinkPwn, has been found in certain HP notebook PCs. This document describes how to fix this issue. There is also a link to a file/program I assume that I am to click on and download something to the computer. The problem I?m having is I don?t have a HP notebook. I have a HP desktop. It was also sent an email account that I rarely use and am not aware of HP having it. As anyone else received a similar email?

We use a third-party Microsoft patch management system, unfortunately we have to approve all patches manually. It has become a monotonous task to jump on the security bulletin and manually "take-note" of all of the updates released (KB numbers)
to mitigate that vulnerability. After I take note of all of them, I have to jump on the "third-party Microsoft patch management system" and approve every patch (KB #) associated with that Bulletin.
I am wondering if there is an easier way to get a list of all of the new Microsoft patches released just for a specific Microsoft Security Bulletin. My current method is just sifting through the Bulletin and copying/pasting every KB number I find that is
designed to patch the vulnerability.
I would assume there is somewhere I can go or a tool I can utilize which would allow me to get the list of all of the KB numbers that need to be approved.
Or Am I out of luck (And just have to sift through the Bulletin to collect the associated KBs)?

I appreciate any and all suggestions/advice/ridicule.

My computer is set for auto updates from Microsoft - but is there a simply way to check to see if one has actually received that particular Security update on one's computer?

(For instance, when my Sygate firewall updates itself, a wee 'balloon' thing lets me know next time I boot the computer, etc ... but I've seen no balloon arrive from Microsoft).
