Facebook and Facebook Messenger will not load

Q: Facebook and Facebook Messenger will not load

Both the above named apps after finally getting the AU, will not actually load. they both self close before getting off the icon screen. I only discovered this when I went to check a notification from action center instead of loading up the browser. Now I was still getting notifications while they would not load but after uninstalling/rebooting, clearing app caches multiple time they have stopped even doing that which I expected. The notifications was the main reason I even had the programs, so I could get those notifications when I did not have the site open.

I have tried every solution google could also give me including clearing out manually some registry entries between an uninstall and reinstall and clearing out all Facebook windows credentials but nothing has made a difference.

In event viewer each generated 2 errors and between then an information entry.
the ones for the main Facebook app

Preferred Solution: Facebook and Facebook Messenger will not load

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

As the title says Facebook, and only Facebook, runs very slow or sometimes fail to load. I've tried this on both Chrome and Mozilla and the result are the same.
Tried to scan with NOD32 antivirus + Eset Online Scanner. Right now is at 55% and found 1 threat (Win32/AdkDLLWrapper) unwanted application.
Below are the FRST.txt and Addition.txt from FRST x64.

Hey All,

I went to TWC's Facebook page, which is just loaded with videos and ads that clogged up my computer speed so much in Firefox that I had to reboot my computer. What can be done to tell companies to do something about Facebook's Timeline, so that the videos don't show? Or at least the process gets speeded up? The problem in general with Timeline is that everything on the page loads at once, and the videos really slow up the experience. I have the My WOT and Ad Block Plus Plug in for Firefox. From a design standpoint, what does TWC need to do to re-design their Facebook page, so that Timeline does not slow people's computers down to a crawl?

hello all,
ive been experiencing this issue for a few days now. www.facebook.com will not load. the only way it seems to load is if i clear cache and it is VERY limited almost useless. i've tried everything i could get my hands on i primarily use google chrome but this seems to be the problem on all browsers. opera, firefox, internet explorer, safari. i've tried https://www.facebook.com, checked host file, ran malwarebytes and cleared any malware, hijackthis, flushed dns, reset router etc but nothing seems to be the fix. even using a proxy site wont allow me to sign in it gets me to the home page but then cookies gets in the way. i'm almost certain it's nothing to do with the internet provider or modem/router because the internet seems to be running smooth, even other computers in the house are not experiencing this problem with facebook or any other site and they are connected to the same router. any help will be much appreciated.

Hi People!

I know the new Windows has a built in messenger system, but I think it's awful.
I can't get it to use my MSN account, it will only use my microsoft account, which is not the same e-mail address, and even if I could get it to do what I want, I'll still miss my taskbar and the flashing icons telling me who's talking to me. I also generally dislike the idea of not having a clear idea of which system you're 'talking on'. You just open a conversation, not knowing whether it will go through Facebook messenger, MSN messenger, whatever.
So I installed good old MSN messenger 8.5 beta. Then I tried installing Facebook messenger, as I don't like in-browser chatting (again; No taskbar, no overview). Doesn't work. Gives me an error 1603.
No solutions on the net so far.
Any ideas?

I tried to install the new Facebook Messenger for Windows, which according to what they say, works on Windows 7. I have the 64Bit Ultimate Edition btw.

But no matter if I download that Messenger directly on the Facebook page or from some other Website, I can't get it installed. I double click the file, Windows pops up and asks me (as usual) if I want to install that file, I say yes. Then you would think that something would come up next, but it doesn't.

When I check in Taskmanager, I see that the installation process just disappears out of the active Processes list after a few seconds. Everytime.

Has anyone else had a similiar problem ?

Thanks in advance.

A:Facebook Messenger for Windows

Facebook Messenger installs the same way as Google Chrome browser - through connecting to the Internet after you click on the *.exe file and downloading-installing the needed files.

Upon double-click of the FacebookMessenger.exe file, I had my Security Software pop-up and ask whether I let the program connect to the internet. Then a window "Initializing dowload" appeared and the app got downloaded and installed on my PC (Win7 x64 Ultimate).

The fact that the "Initializing download" window does not appear after you double-click the *.exe could mean that your firewall automatically prevents the program from connecting to the Internet and downloading the needed installation files.

Make sure you manually let the *.exe file through your firewall. If you don't know what firewall you have or you have the default Windows Firewall active, read this:

Allow a program to communicate through Windows Firewall

I have a 808 Canz Bluetooth Speaker that I use with my smartphone. Everything worked fine for my LG Optimus Zone 3 including music, videos, YouTube, Facebook Messenger, and Discord. I now have a new smartphone Lenovo Motorola e4 USA version. Everything works including music, iTunes for android, YouTube, and Discord, except for Facebook Messenger. Facebook Messenger still works and have sound on phone but not through the 808 Canz Bluetooth Speaker, yet music plays just fine on the same speaker with same settings. I have tried both Facebook Messenger as well as Facebook Messenger Lite on the Motorola e4 with no success, yet Facebook Messenger Lite still works with the same 808 Canz Bluetooth Speaker on my old LG Optimus Zone 3! I have tried using paired for Bluetooth use as well as plugging directly in jack on phone on both phones with no issues on the LG Optimus Zone 3, but no success with the Motorola e4.

So any advice? Is the 808 Canz Bluetooth Speaker just not compatible with Facebook Messenger on the Motorola e4? Do I need a different Bluetooth Speaker or is this simply an issue with the Facebook Messenger application itself?

My computer seems to be infected and the basic tools I am using do not seem to be removing the problem. When searching with google I get redirects to related looking links. I have run Spy-bot Search and Destroy several times in the last weeks. Each time it finds and supposedly removes a problem called facebook.messenger. However, it's back the next time I run it a few days later. I have also run Malwarebytes Anti-malware program, but it does not find any problems.

I suspect the problem came onto this computer because my son plays Terraria and Minecraft for which he downloads mods and addons. Does this seem likely? I'm running Windows XP and IE8.
Thank you for taking time to help! I really appreciate having this resource to turn to.

While Facebook first announced at Microsoft?s Windows 10 Devices event in October that it was working on Universal Windows 10 apps for Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Instagram, the social network has yet to deliver all the goodies to all enthusiast Windows 10 fans. Last month, we obtained some leaked images of the new Facebook Messenger app for Windows 10, which is still in closed beta, but today we were able to download and install the app without being in the beta. Others have not been able to access it yet, however.

We were able to successfully download the app on one of our Windows 10 PCs and we just spent some time playing with it. Long story short, it feels very much like the Instagram beta app on Windows 10 Mobile which is nothing more than an iOS port. In our brief testing with the Facebook Messenger app on Windows 10, we saw that the app uses an adaptable layout and all the features (including notifications) worked reliably. It seems that the only big feature missing here but available on the iOS and Android apps are voice and video calls. Otherwise, it?s a pretty good experience overall. Please find the detailed features of the app along some screenshots below:

◾Get notifications so you never miss a message
◾See when you have messages waiting for you with a live tile
◾Send photos, videos, GIFs and more
◾Bring your conversations to life with stickers
◾Know when people have seen your messages

It looks like this is a problem no one has encountered before.
I use the built-in Messenger app to chat on Facebook. For some reason, I create double posts in the app when the other person's status is "available" for chat. However, if I message someone who isn't online on Facebook, I don't double post.
These double posts aren't seen on Facebook's site, by the way. It's only me that sees it and is really annoying.

Fixes:
I've tried uninstalling, re-installing, signing out of my facebook on both People app and Messenger app then signing back in. I don't know what is causing it.

Thanks all for reading

Google Chrome cannot reach the website. This is typically caused by network issues, but can also be the result of a misconfigured firewall or proxy server.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
Add Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall's or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.
Error 109 (net::ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE): Unable to reach the server.

it show something like this~i have been try other way but also cant solve it~
I read another thread about checking the windows HOSTS file but my HOSTS do not have any entries for Facebook in there...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I am running Windows 7 on my laptop, and windows xp on my desktop... For almost a week now, I can go anywhere on the internet I want from either computer, using Firefox, Chrome or IE....until I try to go to Facebook! It doesn't matter which computer I use, or which browser I use, when I put "Facebook" in my search engine, it loads and loads and loads.... then finally get the message "connection interrupted"... It will not load the signin page... I have checked my "host" and have done 6 or 7 virus scans, deleted and reinstalled FF, reset my modem and router...shut off my computers and restarted them... I'm not computer savy, just have done things I see others suggest... I'm at a loss. I can get there through mfacebook.com and it loads fine off my laptop, and I tried the numbers link I have seen you suggest on here, and that does not work for me...HELP! thanks in advance!

Hi, I know this probably seems a trivial problem...but it really bugs me! Every so often i find that i can not access the facebook page...hmepage/profile etc. Cant even get as far as the log in page.
I get a "failed to Connect" error. I can access every page i want to, i turn of my firewalls etc...i have changed any browser settings. I use Firefox...but I.E does the same as well.

My pc is linked to my partners for the internet.

I sometimes have an inkling he might be doing something to block the site...either on my pc or through his...but i cant be sure and dont even know if its possible!

Thanks

A:Cannot load Facebook

Hi,

You don't know what the exact error is would you. This would really help us figure out if it is a server error on their side or a browser error on your side. If you can come up with what it is that would be great. Otherwise there really isn't a lot that we can do for you.

Cheers!

It's been nearly a week now, and no matter which browser I use (Firefox, Internet Explorer, and last night, I even downloaded Google Chrome to see ...) will not open pages such as facebook, oldnavy.com, part of the weather.com page, and aol.com. By doesn't load, I mean it says it is loading, but then never actually does. Usually just a white page. (Although very rarely, the page WiLL load, but not correctly. It will just be the links lined up vertically). However, for some reason, when I log onto the actual AOL program, I can access these sites, although they are very slow. I'm using Windows XP, by the way. I have McAffee, and I've downloaded several spyware/virus detectors to try to fix hte problem, but none of them detect anything. I've also cleared the history, cookies, temporary files, and tried to do a system restore to last month (but it said it was unable to do so). I've been searching through threads in the forum, but none of the advice given to other users seems to fix my problem, so I thought I'd post for myself and see if anyone could help ... It would be much appreciated; I'm a college student and I need the Internet for schoolwork, and I really don't know what else to do.

Help! Two days ago my facebook just stopped working, it won't load at all on any of my browsers (firefox is my main one), although all other sites work just fine. I tried clearing my history and seeing if it was blocked anywhere, but no luck. I scanned everything with avast than spybot and still nothing. I also tried turning off my windows firewall, and a couple of more things, but it still won't work. It works fine on my brother's computer with whom I share a router. I just won't budge, and after a while it just says: "The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure

Somehow I succeeded to get to the main page through this: https://hr-hr.facebook.com/ but that's it. I can't log in, it's the same as with www.facebook.com

Please, please help!

...and could possibly help me?

Basically, I have no problem logging in on the main page. Everything is displayed perfectly fine. But as soon as I login, all I see is the top of the page and nothing on My Timeline loads up at all. I try clicking on multiple things within the site and nothing works as well, besides my actual Facebook profile. From there, half of my page loads up and then nothing will be displayed anymore either.

I've tried:

- Unchecked IPv6.
- Cleared cookies/cache.
- Ran multiple scans with Malwarebytes and Security Essentials.
- Using command prompt and flushing my DNS as well as renewing it.[/I]

This is getting really infuriating of a problem. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
