I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I recently purchased Lenovo Flex 5 (14") laptop (Part Number:  80XA0011US). This comes with 16.0GB DDR4 2133 MHz and 1TB 5400 RPM+128GB PCIe SSD.  I have 3 questions: 1) I am hoping I like the laptop. If for some reason, I want to return it, how many days I have? And, is that from the date of purchase or date of delivery?  2) I forgot to buy warranty with the purchase. How many days I have to buy warranty?  3) I bought accessory - Slim DVD Burner. Will this be attached to the laptop or is this an external one? Thanks!

I bought a Lenovo Flex 5 14" and at first really enjoyed the product, but it quickly had screen flickering issues. Thankfully, it was still in warranty, so I shipped it back and the LCD was replaced. However, the testing must not have been very rigorous at all because after a while, it still has the same flickering issue. The root cause analysis was incomplete, the problem was not completely fixed, and now my device is out of warranty. I tried to contact Lenovo months back, but because my device was out of warranty, I couldn't get through. Now I really need to use this laptop again and it is basically useless without an external monitor. I am very disatisfied with the level of service received.

So I, like many xbox360 owners am now experiencing the infamous red ring of death, the wrinkle: I bought mine on ebay. Now, when I bought it I also signed up for a one year warranty through a company called Square Trade. I remember reading that often times they will simply issue you a check, but if they think they can fix it they'll ask you to send it in; I don't wanna send it in because I partially opened it (thinking for a moment that I might be able to fix it but then deciding otherwise) and in so doing this broke the warranty seal. How should I word my description of what happened so they will think they cannot fix it?
Thanks a million

Hello everyone. I'm thinking of purchasing a T470 and it appears that it comes with a 3 year onsite warranty as standard here in the UK (with the student discount anyway). My main question is that will I be able to make warranty claims even if I'm not in the UK? I'm going to be going to China in August and I'll be there for a good 10 months (maybe more) so I want to know if I'll be able to make warranty claims there. Going along with that, if I am able to make warranty claims in China, will I have to make the claim in Chinese to Lenovo China, and what is the chance that the technician speaks English (especially in a second tier city)? I'd say my Mandarin is "OK" at the moment but I know very few computer related terms. I think I could just about get by with what I know and the dictionary app on my phone, a roommate helping, or someone in the International Students office helping over the phone, but I'd feel much better having making the claim and talking to the technician in English if possible. Finally, I'll probably buy some RAM and a SSD from Amazon if the price is significantly cheaper than Lenovo. Will I have any problems with this if I need to make a warranty claim? Thanks in advance!

I bought a new Lenovo 9-cell battery for my W520 direct from Lenovo less than 12 months ago (within the warranty period as I understand it). The laptop battery life has declined precipitously and the W520 is throwing up warnings that the battery will not hold a charge. How are you supposed to submit a warranty claim on batteries? The S/N is not recognized (maybe they don't track bettery serial numbers) and the warranty claim form I did find online required a serial number. Trying to return the battery off the original order doesn't work since the return period is 30 days and it was 11 months ago. Who are we supposed to contact in this case?

I had posted the thread detailing the issues i have been getting and detailing the measures i have taken to solve this problem. The laptop is quite unstable as it might reboot anytime without any warning or BSOD. I dont think its an overheating or operating system issue. I feel like i have got an defective unit because because most of the crashes are quite random and doesnt seem to be related to my interaction with the computer. However to make this scenario even worse there is no Lenovo authorized service center near me. I had contacted the contact provided in the IWS manual but they say they are not authorized to give me warranty and might void the warranty if they try to do it themselves. I still have 270days of IWS left but i cannot travel to any other country to claim this warranty right now as i am currently studing and will be absolutely busy for the next 2 years. Is there anyway Lenovo can arrange a repair service to me? should i purchase an upgrade to the warranty so that i can deal with this later when i am free to do so? What should i do?

I bought my laptop in July 2017 from the US. It's 13-inch Dell XPS 13.  Last month I started having issues with my screen. The screen flickered and intermittently blackout. I tried to resolve the issue by using Dell support assist system tests. It said that everything was in order all the hardware and software.
However, the issue got worse and I am unable to carry on with my work. When I contacted Dell support team Spain they asked me to transfer the warranty to Spain because I bought the laptop in the US. I filled that form and didn't receive any confirmation email that the process has been completed. The technical support in Spain cannot move ahead unless the warranty has been transferred. Which I don't know. I wrote two emails to dell support haven't received a single reply instead I keep getting the promotional email.
I had a chat twice with the technical support they tell you what they want to tell you without listening to the issue and end the discussion when they want to. It has been almost two weeks and my issue is still pending. Irrespective of the fact that due to this fault my work has been affected, this is highly disrespectful on Dell's part.

A:Poor Technical Support and Warranty Claim

The warranty can only be transferred if:
1.  The system is sold in Spain (if it's not, no support).
2.  The system was purchased with an upgrade to onsite service at extra cost (or you buy that upgrade before transferring).
3.  You are the registered owner of the system (this can cause problems if the system was purchased other than direct from Dell, or a Dell-authorized seller).  If the system was purchased from a third party, Amazon storefront, etc. -- contact the seller for the information you'll need to transfer the ownership).

Hi, I recently bought Dell Inspiron 15 3567 model in Dubai after getting the confirmation from Dell representative that International Warranty is available in India. I was informed to register online by changing the service tag to India.
Can you please help with the proper procedure to register my product so that I can claim warranty service in India

A:warranty claim in India for Laptop bought in Dubai

First -- there are no "Dell representatives" in Dubai -- all systems there are sold through resellers, not Dell.
You must:
1.  Have purchased (or now purchase) an onsite service plan - from Dell.  Basic depot warranty (and any Dubai reseller warranty) will not transfer.
2.  The system model you purchased MUST be sold in India.
3.  You must transfer your ownership of the system with Dell:
www.dell.com/.../warranty-and-ownership-transfer
In all likelihood you'll need to start with the reseller from whom you purchased.

Hello All, My Flex 4-1580 just got back from the Lenovo Repair Center, where they fixed the backlight and the microphone. Thrilled, I opened it up and proceeded to play games on it for a few hours, then closed the laptop. When I come back and open it up, the top of the screen is cracked and the touch is permanantly clicking at the top of the page. Upon further investigation, I noticed that the screen case was not properly reinstalled, as there are gaps that did not exist before I sent the laptop to Lenovo. I want to know if this repair is covered by my original Lenovo Manufacturer's Warranty, as I have a third-party warranty that explicitly covers ADH repairs. I would assume that Lenovo would cover it, as the damage here was caused by their oversight, but I wanted to make sure. I'm going to call their customer service number when it opens tomorrow. Reply if you'd like an update with how it goes!

Hello,
I want to know the warrant policy regarding the following issues:
I have a Lenovo Flex 2-14 laptop.
Will my warranty be void, if:
1. I upgrade my RAM to 12GB by making use of the two provided slots. 4 Gb Ram the implicit one and adding another 8 Gb Ram.
2. If I dual boot my laptop with Ubuntu Os.
Kindly let me know the warranty status in both the cases.

A:Flex 2-14 - Warranty: Replacement policy

Hi wavare_ajinkya ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As a general rule, CRU (customer replaceable parts ) will not void the warranty as listed from the hardware manual . However most upgrades on this model shows that such are considered FRU (field replaceable unit) , meaning you would have to open up additional parts and might require skill and specific tools thus CRU ID is N. (item6 page 72 ).

1. Upgrading your RAM however would not void any warranty.
We had same issue discussed on this thread .
On quotes: " Similar to this query is this case  for the Z500 replacement of optical drive which is also a CRU Id - N and this thread.

Warranty agreement :

What this Warranty Does not Cover
- failure or damage resulting from misuse, abuse, accident, modification, unsuitable physical or operating environment, natural disasters, power surges, improper maintenance, or use not in accordance with product information materials
-damage caused by a non-authorized service provider
-failure of, or damage caused by, any third party products, including those that Lenovo may provide or integrate into the Lenovo product at your request

Warranty is not covered if during the process of modification , damage or accidents may incur both on the replaced parts and the original devices ."

The answer would be no , upgrading  the harddrive ,RAM will not void your warranty... Read more

Bought two (2) Lenovo 320 IdeaPads at Best Buy in November of 2017 and gave both as Christmas gifts.  Performed Windows 10 software updates (which took much longer than it should have despite wired LAN connection to FiOS 75mbps Internet connection) in early December 2017.  Both laptops sat next to each other on office desk with similar usage patterns.  Suddently, the screen on one of the laptops went dim (almost black) after unplug and replugging in the device.  Luckily, on both devices already had loaded a remote desktop software (TeamViewer) so I was able to connect to the Ideapad despite the dim/black screen to run diagnostics, update OS (again) and reload drivers.  Diagnostics and updates included: (1) Updated Windows, (2) Confirmed latest AMD Graphics Driver, (3) Confirmed latest Radeon Driver, (4) Checked Registry per Online Forum Instructions ... all of the above to no avail. Contacted Lenovo customer support, received return authorization.  Shipped device on on January 18, device received by Depot on January 20 according to USPS.  On February 1, had not heard anything from Depot so I checked status of the repair.  The online repair status said something along the lines of 'waiting for device' ... even though the device had been at the depot for over 10 days! Started a 'Live Assistance' chat with Lenovo customer support and learned that the depot received the device on january 22 (two days after USPS... Hi everyone. I can see that people with other similar style Lenovo laptops (Yoga 900) complain about the same issue so was wondering if there is a solution or an optimized version of this software. I did an update of the BIOS and the Power Management driver and still a constant power usage.  Once the laptop is flipped the YMC detects it and turns off the keyboard functionality to prevent accidental presses and that is pretty much all until it flipped back and enabled. And all of this requires a constant high CPU usage? Any help would be highly appreciated. I also tried rolling back to older drivers without luck in decreasing this CPU hog usage. To put such load on a i5 6th gen CPU really implies an inferior service integration....

I am totally disappointed in Lenovo's customer support. My lenovo 710s was bought less than 1 year ago (as of 10/6/2017, when I sent it in for repairs) and had 2 years warranty (1+1 year of extended warranty). I sent my laptop for repair due to a white spot issue on the monitor, affecting viewing of webpages and videos. However, the laptop was returned after 3 weeks without any fixes/repairs, as Lenovo claimed that it was a cosmetic issue. I wrote a message on their customer care website on 3/7/2017. However, they ignored me and there was no reply to date.  I thought Lenovo is a reliable and popular brand. However, it turned out to be a horrible decision, much to my dismay!

So a few months ago i bought a used lenovo P50. 32 gigs of ram, 6820hq, Quadro M2000M. I'm using it as a daily workstation. I payed quiet a bit for it but it's a good machine and i'm generally happy with it.  Of course, one of the reasons i payed well for it was that it had almost 2 years of top notch international warranty remaining. It came from a German company, has been bought for company use in a big pack of maybe 50 or more pieces.  When i was buying it i checked the international warranty using the machines serial number. The lenovo website said i have more then 500days of warranty remaining. So i bought the machine and have been using it since then. Recently i tought that i was having problems with a malufunctioning USB port. Turned out it was my USB drive, not the port. But since i was thinking about RMAing it, not knowing that the port is actually fine. I went checking how much warranty i have got left. (This was about 3 months after i bought the machine).  So i come to the lenovo warranty check, type my serial number in and a nice suprise is waiting for me there.  Warranty status: expired, 0 days left. Together with the text:  This machine was sold by the manufacturer without warranty. Claims for warranty service will be rejected by the manufacturer.Origin: Factory Warranty  So okay lenovo, i understand that sometimes you sell machines with no warranty because the reseller is going... Hope you guys can help me as soon as possible., thanks in advance..

Right, you mentioned it turned blue with a sad face, that is a Blue Screen of Death (or proper term is Kernel bugcheck) which indicates something has gone wrong.

Problem: Press power button, turns on and no display. Press power button to turn off then press to turn on, doesn't turn on but power button light is flashing. Plug in the charger and turn the Flex 10 off and on again, still not on. Tapping the keyboard, touchpad hoping something happens, no. Give it a couple more seconds then it turns on. Lenovo loading sign comes up then goes to blue screen saying "collecting data because there was an error then will restart for you", restarts. "There was an error with loading Windows. Given two options; option 1: Choose a recovery setting or option 2: restart". Both options have been clicked before and nothing has happened. This time tried choosing option 1 again and the screen starts flickering and Flex 10 turns off. Flex 10 has been opened from the back to check if memory, HDD and all else is correctly in place.  Any solutions? Could the battery be the problem? Is it worth replacing it altogether? Thanks,Scott
