I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have read many of the other forum threads hoping to solve this issue... to no avail.

I have been running Windows Mail on my laptop for seven months now with no issue. After changing my password, Windows Mail no longer wants to send or receive email.

I have tried many things (from other people's successes) to solve this problem:
- Changed my password again (note: both password changes have been successful in my webmail and in downloading to my Blackberry)
- Removed the email account and readded it
- Disabled the auto scan components of McAfee
- Uninstalled McAfee
- Repeated earlier deletions and additions of my email account
- Downloaded Windows Live Mail to the same errors and repeat of the above
- Reset my password/account through the email host/server

Here is the error message from Windows Live Mail:
Unable to send or receive messages for the (christine) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.
Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR Login failed.

Any suggestions? Both my tech-savvy friend and I are at a loss...

This issue suddenly occurred today - quote :

Unable to send or receive messages for the Yahoo.co.uk (account). The connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10061

To be clear - I have NOT changed any mail account or server settings since I started using WIN7 and Livemail almost 4 years ago. I am able to send and receive Yahoo account mail using my iPad and using my WIN7 laptop if I access my mail account via the web.I am only unable to send/receive from laptop when trying to connect to mail server today.

I am using MS Security Essentials as my only Antivirus program and have been for at least 2 years. I do not have any other AV program installed

My outgoing mail (SMTP) server port number is set at 587 (changing to 25 has no effect)
Icoming Mail (POP3) is set at 110
Server Timeout is set at 1 minute
Outgoing mail server is checked as "requires authentication"

EDIT - Servers :
Icoming mail (POP 3) is set as pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) is set as smtp.mail.yahoo.uk

These settings have not been changed since originally established and were working perfectly 2 days ago. I had not accessed mail on the laptop, which had been powered off, for 2 days.
Any ideas ?

Thanks

A:Solved: Windows Livemail - unable to send or receive Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80

For the benefit of anyone who has a similar problem .... I eventually found this on the Yahoo web site

Yahoo Mail
We've recently updated our servers for your safety and now require a secure connection when accessing Yahoo Mail from a mobile device or mail client.

If you're using an unsecured connection, you'll receive a connection-related error. Don't worry, here's how to fix it.

POP server settings
Want to access Yahoo Mail from an email program like Outlook or Mac Mail? Here's the settings you'll need.

Incoming Mail (POP) Server - Requires SSLSecure Socket Layer
•Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
•Port: 995
•Requires SSL: Yes
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires TLSTransport Layer Security
•Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
•Port: 465 or 587
•Requires SSL: Yes
•Requires authentication: Yes
If your POP client doesn't offer TLS, you'll still be able to use SSL.

Login info - Requires authentication

•Email address: Your full email address ([email protected])
•Password: Your account's password.

In my case I simply had to check the SSL box, which automatically set the incoming port to 995. It also set the outgoing to 25, which I reset to 587. Problem solved.

Would have been nice if Yahoo had warned me of the "update" in advance.

This was an intermittent problem but today seems to be permanent: I'm on Vista home premium, using Windows mail. I have a broadband connection. When I click Send/Receive the incoming mails arrive but I see a window headed "Windows Security" that asks me to Logon to my server (pipex) saying "please verify that both the username and password are correct". The "remember my credentials" box is already checked and however many tiems I enter my user name and password this window re-appears.
Webmail works fine for both send and receive.
I've had this problem ever since I got the new PC with Vista installed, (3 months ago) but until today it occurred only now and again and eventually I was always able to Send.
Also installed is FreeAVG antivirus and MSGTAG. The latter requires that my SMTP outgoing is set at 127.0.0.1

Hi, this little Util (WMUTIL) is a life saver for Windows mail.

Quote:

In some circumstances, messages will become stuck in the Outbox folder according to WinMail (even though no message may exist in the outbox directory of eml files). These stuck messages prevent WinMail from being able to send any messages. Clicking on the Clear Outbox button will remove all references in the database to Outbox messages. This should then enable the user to send messages again.

I have figured out how to configure Live Mail to "Send Later" and that works fine, so that outgoing traffic waits in the Out box until I click the Send/Receive button. My question: Is there a way to re-configure the Send/Receive button into two separate commands, one for Send and another for Receive, so that both commands are not always executed simultaneously? Thanks.

Hello, I am new to this.

Windows Live Mail started giving me this 4402 error message, but I could still get emails. Then WLM stopped sending or receiving emails. I've tried different solutions that I found on line, but none work so far.

I have uninstalled and installed Windows Live Mail 5 times now and the same exact problem occurs every time.
This message comes up: "Unable to send or receive messages for the emails account.
Server Error: 4402
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002"

When I reinstall, all the emails are there and the contacts appear as if I had never uninstalled. And, this same message appears.

I even uninstalled all of Windows Essentials 2012 and reinstalled - but got the same message for WLM on reinstallation.

Please help. Thank you.

I know I can do this going to the Home tab & Clicking the little arrow under send and receive and selecting this option from the drop down list but it would be much easier if this could be done from the quick access tookbar. Hi,
I?m currently using Windows Live mail 2011 and I have switched from Windows mail which had worked for me perfectly. However, upon switching to Windows Live mail 2011, I discover this error after several weeks of good usage. I have tried to narrow down the possibilities of this error to a few below:

- My ISP is working fine, no issue. It worked well on my outlook - it can send and receive.

- Weeks after I switch from Windows Mail to Windows Live mail it worked very well - it can send and receive.

- I notice that on the top right hand corner, there is a sign in icon. Previously, I didn?t sign in and it still worked perfectly.

- I have tried wireless and wired connection, both worked perfectly online. Both allows my Windows Live mail to receive emails but I just can?t send emails out.

- I have tried to change SMTP to Port 567 but it didnt work. Port 26 seems proper.

- My WLMaccount is sync via POP/IMAP. I have POP3.

- I have tried to windows update and did Windows Live Essential repair, restart WLM, delete emails from outbox, restart Laptop; but it still didnt work.

Maybe its also helpful to point out that, it was after I installed Microsoft Security Essential, that this issue came up. Previously, I had Norton and there were no issues. After I uninstall Norton and install MSE, I start to encounter this. However, when I tried to turn MS... Read more

Hi, I have a laptop with Windows 8.1 x64 with everything up to date. It has the Intel Wireless-N 7260 card, that has Bluetooth 4.0.

I've added my smartphone, and I can send files from my laptop to my smartphone. But when I try to send something from my device to my laptop, it fails. My laptop doesn't show any prompt about "Do you wanna receive this file" or something like that. My smartphone shows a "Sending file..." dialog, but nothing happens.

I installed the stock Bluetooth driver provided by the manufacturer of the laptop, but nothing changed except for one thing: my smartphone automatically sent me that the shared file failed. With the latest BT driver, the dialog of "Sending file..." stays for a long time.

How can I solve this?

PD: This happens with all the smartphones I've tried.

PD2: I formatted the laptop like a month ago, and BT at that time was working perfectly, I could send and receive files. My laptop is working great except for this annoying problem.

I'll have trouble anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, then it will work normally again as if nothing was wrong.

I'm just relieved I'm not the only one having trouble.

We recently changed our mail client from Verio to Liquid Web. After changing the settings in Account Properties, I am able to receive emails, but cannot send emails. From my Windows Live Mail end, it looks like the message was sent just fine, but when
I check the receiving email account, there is no message there.

Hi,

When I start windows e-mails, I am receiving all e-mails automatically, but after that with it does not receive the e-mails automatically. It sends automatically , but I have to select "Receive All" to see new e-mails. I am using windows mail
with POP settings.

Also each time I select "Synchronize All" or "Send/Receiving All" an
error message comes up saying "Sorry errors occured while processing
the requested tasks. Please review the list of errors below for more
details". The issue is that the list of errors is empty. But I receive and send emails normally, a part from issue mention in the first paragraph.

Does Anybody has experienced the same thing and hopefuuly help me resolve it?

Thanks

Hi

I was suckered into the free windows 10 upgrade for my laptop. It failed utterly and have paid my local IT shop for the upgrade to be wiped and windows 7 re-loaded. (They advised don't try to upgrade again)

I have two e-mail accounts. Both worked perfectly before the failed upgrade. After the re-load - one works perfectly. The other will receive but not send. The error message is:-

Server error: 554
Server response: 554 smtp service not available
Server: smtp.hosts.co.uk
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC6F
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 465
Secure (SSL) Yes

After lengthy emails with website/e-mail provider the settings for incoming and outgoing are all correct but still won't send. We changed passwords, port settings, made unsecure etc

Back to my local IT shop. On their wifi it sends and receives no problem. Back home, try to send and it still fails.

ISP is Virgin Media. 30 min conversation with their tech man. He can't solve and says the problem is not at their end. It seems to me though that it probably is.

It's been going on now for 5 weeks. It's my business e-mail I can't send on I'm pretty fed up with the amount of wasted time/cost etc. Biggest mistake I made was to accept the free upgrade!

Anyone else had this and resolved the challenge?

Thanks

I am using Windows Vista Business SP2

And Windows Live Messenger 2009 for ages and ages.

Since I formatted the computer and reinstalled all things Msn seems to be working very poorly. Without showing any error it fails to send and receive messages in the middle of conversations.

It is very upseting specially when I use it for business and cant' trust the application.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application 10 times with deep cleaning.

Nothing seems to work.

HELP

A:Windows Live Messenger 2009 doesn't send and receive some of the messages

Hello,

This could be caused by a number of things, such as a network issue.

To help isolate the issue, could you try a different program? I recommend Digsby: http://www.digsby.com/?utm_campaign=...tm_content=vid

You can just plug in your MSN ID, and chat with people without them even knowing you switched.

If the problem exists there, we can work on a network issue.

I?m setting up a Windows Mail account for a second Windows User on a Dell laptop running Vista. I can send mail out of the account but when I try to receive I get a 0x800CCC0E error. I have checked that email messages are coming to the Charter mail server using their web mail. Windows Mail works ok both ways for the other Windows User on the same computer. The POP3 server address in the Mail setup looks the same for both users.

Hi, I am trying to get Lotus Notes 9 social edition to connect to my Verizon ISP mail servers (pop.verizon.net and smtp.verizon.net).
The replication tab gives an error message: "SSL IO error Remote session no longer responding.Failed with pop server pop.verizon.net".
I did a trace using preferences->Notes ports and it tells me there is no path to the server. I configured my Windows firewall to allow
notes to access the internet. I still can't "see" the mail servers (a Windows command line "ping" times out for either server). I have the correct server names and ports in the "accounts" entries in Lotus Notes (checked several
times). These servers require SSL access. Is there something in the networking part of Windows that I need to set up? An SSL certificate of some kind? Do I need to set up and use a VPN?  What am I missing? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have already upgraded my Vista to Windows 7. No, I did not back up my windows mail data. I have found the folders that appear to have all of the *.eml files in them. I've got Outlook 2007 installed. How do I get all these old email files into Outlook? I don't see an option on the import in Outlook to do it.

A:Windows Mail - already upgraded now what?

Never mind - there is an option in Outlook 2007 - just have to read further than "Outlook Express".

G'day,

It's two problems, really, and I don't know if they might be related. I recently installed IE9 and since then I can no longer receive attachments via Windows Mail. I have checked all my settings and cleared the cache and nothing works. At the same time IE9 will not ask if I want to remember log-in details. Old details that were imported from IE8 work still work fine but I can not add new ones that will be remembered. Again, I cleared the cache, etc. It's extremely annoying, especially the problem with the attachments. Would someone help me out, please?

Cheers,
Fritz

Hello all. This is driving me mad. Hope someone can help!

Running Windows XP SP2
Home network w/ DI-524 router ethernet to desktop, wireless laptop, cable internet connection. Everything was fine... :)
Then suddenly one day three weeks ago we can no longer send mail. Receives fine, but sent just piles up in outbox. On both computers.

My wife uses Outlook Express which generates this error:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.3web.com', Server: 'smtp.3web.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I use Opera, which generates a similar, but more generic error. Thunderbird fails similarly.

I can't telnet to smtp.3web.com from inside my network, but I can from an external unix shell account. 3web swears there is no problem on their end, although their teir 2 support have yet to call me back.

I was running Zonealarm, which I have since uninstalled. I now am using just the XP native firewall (and my router). Have tried turning off the windows firewall AND bypassing the router (just for long enough to see if it worked) (It didn't).

Updated to the most recent firmware for the router. No change.
Reset the router to factory defaults. No change.

When I ran Wireshark to check out the network traffic when I tried to send via smtp, it would show 3 attempts with no ACK and then a RST from the smtp server - but doesn't this mean I'm *reaching* the server, I'm just not being allowed i... Read more

Hello!

I noticed a strange issue in my father's new notebook (Windows 10 Home). He had Windows Live Mail in his Windows 7 desktop, so I installed Windows Essentials 2012 in the notebook as well to use a familiar e-mail application. I setup the same account and the first days it worked flawlessly. Yesterday my father told me he could not sent mail. There was a popup to enter the user name and password. I could not make it work. Out of curiosity, I configured the same mail account in Outlook 2010 using exactly the same settings, servers, ports, user name and password. And of course it worked! It also works without any problem in Windows Live Mail in his Windows 7 PC. What's going on here? I thought to backup the account, uninstall Windows Essentials and reinstall it but I'm not sure it will help and it was rather late so I postponed it. Any ideas? I already tried to disable Windows Defender and Windows Firewall and test settings such as port 465, require secure connection etc. Nothing did the job.

Thank you in advance.

PS: Just in case this info helps, I live in Greece, Athens and my father's ISP is OTENET (now called COSMOTE) with default POP host mail.otenet.gr, default SMPT host mailgate.otenet.gr. The user name can either be my email address or just the bit before @ of my email address. I tried both didn't work.

Hi Everyone, hope you can help this newby!

My problems is that I am unable to receive mail attachments properly (.doc, .jpg, .pdf) with Windows Mail on Vista Home Premium. The attachments are corrupted - eg only part of a picture and the .doc/.pdf files cannot be opened ("insufficient data" and similar error messages).

Under Tools, Options, Security "Do not allow attachments ..." and "Block images ..." are both unchecked. The Avast! AV Internet Mail scanner is terminated.

The messages and attachments are received fine on my other computers running XP (Outlook Express), Avast! AV and ZoneAlarm.

Other than changing to a different mail program (I've been advised to try Live or Thunderbird) can anyone offer some suggestions to fix this problem?

Many thanks!

A:Windows Mail doesn't receive attachments!

Update - same problem with Windows Live Mail, too!

Although the .jpg attachments are received, the reported file sizes are not the same as on the outgoing message from Outlook Express (under XP), only the top part of some of the images shows in the email, and the attachments cannot be opened. If I save the attachments and then open them, the appearance of the image is the same as previewed in the email, i.e. most of each image is missing.

Completely baffled. I've sync'd Windows mail with my Gmail account, everything back and forth is fine. Trying to send email w/attachments from Word 2003 results in nothing-no error, no nothing. I have the 'mail' icon on Word 2003 set, I can access the 'send to mail recipient' on 'file' so that I can enter email addresses to send the attached file to whomever-but when I click Send...nothing. I am absolutely at my wits end, and I can't self diagnose this to fix it. Again, my Gmail and Windows Mail are sync'd fine-can send msgs back and forth. About to blow a gasket on this, have depositions to send and can't! thanks so much

Hi,

I have been using WLM for some years. Yesterday, it stopped sending emails and now just leaves them in the Outbox. Here is most of what appears in the error box:

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was '[email protected]'.
Subject 'Newsflash'
Server Error: 553
Server Response: 553 Sorry, over your daily relay limit.
Server: 'smtpout.secureserver.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC78
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 80
Secure(SSL): No

I don't send many emails and don't send emails with large attachments, so I don't know why the "over your daily relay limit" message appears.

Port 80 has worked for a long time and works (sends emails) from the other computers on the network, so it doesn't seem like I should need to select a different port number.

The "My server requires authentication" box is selected/ticked.

None of the settings have been changed for a long time.

Our ISP is GoDaddy.

Thanks for any advice.

I can send e-mail, but recipient never receives it. I get no error message, its like the e-mail goes through fine on my end.

Then I talk to the recipient and find out no matter who I send to, they don't get my E-mail. I can't even send mail to myself. I have multiple accounts in my house, its the same for all. I just noticed this a few days ago.

It seems to be a different problem from the other issued on this board because there is no error message, and the fixes (new port) didn't work.

Any suggestions? I can go on comcasts web mail and it sends fine and I can send from my iphone and laptop.

Thanks.

Hi, I just set up Windows Live Mail and am receiving this error when I attmept to send mail via GMail's IMAP service. All settings are correct according to GMail's instructions for IMAP use with Windows Mail. Here is a copy of Windows Live Mail's error message with the recipient changed to hide the personal ID of the original sender/designated recipient:

An unknown error has occurred.
Subject 'Re: An email from {blank}
Server: 'smtp.gmail.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0B
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 465
Secure(SSL): Yes

A:Windows Live Mail Outgoing / Send Mail Error

Go to the website of your ISP, they will show you how to set um WLM. Use their setting for sending. You can use the name of your Gmail account to show as the "send to" for replies.
