I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My Epson Workforce 500 has recently started feeding paper crooked from the paper tray. As far as I know, nothing has changed in the settings. I can copy from the document feeder and it feeds the paper slower so it doesn't jam. With regular printing, it feeds crooked. I tried taking out the paper and fanning it, readjusted the guide used paper new from the package instead of the paper already opened. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the printer driver. Nothing looks broken and I am stuck. I am running Windows XP SP3.

Try checking the paper path for an obstruction. Even just a smalll scrap of paper can cause this.

I have a win 7 laptop with wireless connection to Epson workforce 840 which has worked perfectly until yesterday. I was trying to copy some documents and got an error message: "ADF paper jam."
I followed all the steps in my manual for clearing a paper jam--I found no paper stuck anywhere in the machine. After trying to get the documents to feed, I realized that the Auto Document Feeder (ADF) was not "grabbing" the documents and rolling them through the machine for making the copies. I cannot find any obstructions; the rollers seem to be working. I tried several different types of documents to see if that made a difference. Each time I get the same error message.

My only thought at this point is that the ADF is broken but I'm wondering if it is fixable.
Any ideas?

paper jams every time i try to print.
Paper only feeds about 1/2 an inch to an inch.....doesn't get stuck.

I have an old HP4P printer that still was working fine until recently. I printer the first page (from the tray) of a 4 page document. I got a paper jam on the second page and have not been able to get the printer to work without jamming since. The paper gets picked up and moves only about an inch or less on the roller and then I get a jam message. It appears as if the paper is not being moved straight (?). I also noted that now I can't use the single page feed above the tray door. When you push in a sheet it should grab the paper and then print. I can not get it to grab the sheet anymore.

Is there anything I can do to get this working again?

We have a KM 5035 at our office and everytime we try to do bulk copying (more than 5 pieces of paper is considered bulk with this machine) It will tell us that there is a paper jam in the bottom drawer (#3) but when we open it, all we see is where it started to lift the last paper alittle but there is no real jam... If anyone has any advice or if anyone needs more info to help me troubleshoot I would really appreciate it!

Thanks!

I have a Canon Pixma MG6100. I tried to print on glossy paper and the printer kept jamming. I gave up on printing the photo, but now the printer jams even when trying to print on plain paper from both the back tray and the cassette. Fromboth places, the paper starts to feed but then stops. I can hear the rollers still moving, but the paper is just stuck. I have tried cleaning the rollers as well as cleaning the bottom plate but nothing works. The printer is now useless.

Reading up on it, I found that this printer has an auto-duplex feature, which lead me to the question:

How damp is the paper going to be after printing duplex, especially if I print with 50% - 100% coverage?

My initial conjecture is that it wouldn't be wet or curled, as it would be counterproductive to Epson's image to provide a printer with an auto-duplex feature that would drench the paper.

After doing a little bit of research, it seems that it's largely going to depend on the ink itself. According to macworld.com, "pigment inks...are made up of tiny, encapsulated particles that sit on top of the paper, instead of being absorbed into a paper’s fibers, which is what happens with dyes." The article further goes on to state that pigment inks are primarily for the purpose of longevity. Well, I'm not particularly concerned about it's longevity but I am interested in whether it's ability to dry faster than dye ink is justifiable for an investment in pigment inks?

A little more research revealed that paper quality is also a major factor (duh). Only issue is, I've already purchased a bunch of cheap 20 lb, 96 bright white paper and don't want to purchase paper separately for this additional printer (when I mean "bunch", I mean that I possess cases of paper in the double digits). Another reason I'm hesitant to make any move towards better paper is that it seems that the higher quality paper is designed to ... Read more

This printer [mine] is a little over 1 year old. It's an all-in-one and the features work OK. I am trying to print Christmas cards on Avery card stock 3265. The blank cards go through OK but NO printing - they come back completely blank. As a sample, I printed the card on regular paper stock and it worked fine. But no printing on the card stock. I wrote to Epson explaining the problem and their answer was to use only Epson paper stock - any other 3rd party paper stock could damage the printer. That was the complete answer. Joke right? Anyone out there know something? Thanks.

A:Epson WorkForce 610 printer

Most inkjet printers have an upper media thickness or weight (gsm) limit, Avery 3265 may exceed that limit thought I've been unable to determine it's weight per sheet from the info I've seen. Or it could be the textured surface the printhead can't cope with.

As for Epson telling you to use only Epson media, well they would say that of course, but it's a daft response from them. Thousands of photo printing enthusiasts are using specialised third-party consumables (paper and ink) in their Epson printers every day. Whatever the cause of your problem, it's not because the paper or card is not made by Epson.

I have the printer installed and it works fine except it won't print envelopes from the bypass tray. It will print envelopes if the paper is removed from tray 1 and the envelopes placed in it. I have tried with both MSWord Professional Plus 2007 and Word Perfect X6 (my preferred word processor). If the envelope is inserted in the bypass, it is fed through the printer without printing anything on it and then a sheet of paper is fed from tray 1 and the envelope data is printed on it.
The computer is a Dell Optilex 3020, Intel Core i5-4590 CPU @ 3.3 GHz, running Windows 7Professional, Service Pack 1.
Initially suspected the printer, but Epson service tech convinced me it was Word Perfect. I contacted Corel support and they are convinced it is the printer. Since then I have tried both word processors on both my desktop and laptop with the same results.
I bought the printer because it will print photos on 13 inch wide photo paper using pigment inks, so the envelope problem is not a big deal, just an inconvenience.

Hello - I have an Epson Workforce 610 All In One Printer/Scanner

I also have a Windows 7 Pro PC.

The weird thing is that when you use a Freeware software it will open the Epson scan software and scan just fine.

Am I missing something that just scanning using the Epson Scan softeware won't work?

I have a question on how to rid myself of my Printer/pc.   I think this is what has been ailing this pc for at least two years. I've had to install new windows programs and reinstall them, I bought Windows Home Premium because I was so sick

I've had so much trouble because the properties change all the time.  I've reinstalled my windows pro so many times, I get sick thinking about it. The PC will be perfect, then all of a sudden the network map changes. I download my printer and drivers
again and have my Epson 545 on an LPT port, then I get another printer icon that says Epson6422c7, and it is placed in the network map next to my PC icon. So it says Computers (2).  Then the same one shows up in infrastructure and then printers and scanners
down below, with the printer that I work with I think.  I've tried everything to get rid of that. It is on a wsd port and the other computer is on the LPT port.  on the check network connection sheet that printer spits out, it says "a routing/access
point channel conflict has been detected. If you problems printing or scanning, improve your wireless  settings.  Just went to cox cable, with a cable wifi modem/gateway. It seems... Read more

I've been using an Epson Workforce 610 printer using a wireless connection for a few years without problem using a desktop running Windows XP and a laptop running Windows 7 32 bit Home Professional. I just got a new desktop that runs Windows 7 64 bit Home Professional. I needed a different driver for the 64 bit system, which I found and downloaded on the Epson site, and everything installed fine. But, during setup when the new computer attempted to detect the printer on the wireless network, it gave me a message that the printer could not be found. The printer is detected by two other computers on the network and works with them just fine.

As far as I can tell, this is not a network problem since the new computer recognizes and uses the same wireless network to connect to the internet, and the printer shows it is connected to the network with a strong signal. Plus, it is able to communicate with two other computers wirelessly. I have tried rebooting both the computer and the printer and uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers with no success. Any ideas? Epson's site doesn't have any information on this problem. Is there something that has to be enabled in Windows 7 that I'm not aware of?

Ok from the top Saturday my computer overheated due to a clogged heatsink. The computer turned itself off and I cleaned out the fan and bought a new bracket to mount the heat sink. Now my epson 845 all in one does not want to scan. It works perfectly as a printer and also works perfect on my laptop as far as scanning and printing.
I tried deleting the twain drivers and reinstalling the software but it still says cannot communicate. What piece of hardware could have been affected that will now not let my scanner icon open the program?
Is it a graphics card issue? Is it a registry issue? Is it a hardware issue? The computer works fine now except for the scanner.
Any suggestions?

SYMPTOM: My EPSON WorkForce 500 worked wonderfully for months but then it stopped working. When you plug it in, it says it’s trying to find “EPSONWorkForce 500” (no space between EPSON and WorkForce) yet all of the drivers and associated documentation say “EPSON WorkForce 500” (with a space between EPSON and WorkForce). Eventually, the Vista says it can’t find a driver. But the driver _is_ installed. If I go to Printers > Server Properties > Drivers tab, the EPSON WorkForce 500 driver is definitely installed. In addition, if you go to Device Manager > Printers, it shows EPSON WorkForce 500. What gives? Why can’t the Plug-n-Play device correctly identify with the previously-installed drivers?

Notably, there may be a corruption somewhere. When I go to Printers > Server Properties > Ports tab, the system locks up. If I go to Device manager, the process that failed is supposedly Explorer.

The system also locks up if I go to Printers > Add Printer.

My first question was: Is the problem with Vista, the Print Server, or with the Driver? I think I’ve eliminated the first two, and I’m on to the driver.

=-========================
STEP ONE: IS THE FAULT WITH VISTA ITSELF?
To check the system, I used the Windows Vista System File Checker: It did find problems, but I’m not sure that they were related to the printer.

The log file SFC generates is too big to manage. There is a command-line prompt that you can use to consolidate the findings. I used it and... Read more

I have an epson 777 printer that isn't operating properly. A few months ago my daughter was printing out a paper when there was a paper jam. instead of pulling the paper through the printer she paniced and tried to pull the paper out from the back side of the printer. Every since then when I try to print it gives me an error that says that the paper isn't loaded correctly. After pusing the maintanance button it gives me the same error. Can I do any thing to correct the problem? Or will I have to buy a new printer?

A:epson 777 paper jam

Hi there
Try taking out all of the paper out from the feed tray and opening up its lid, just like when you're changing cartriges and look around inside. Most likely there is a piece of paper stuck in between rollers inside. If you do find paper stuck inside, try pulling gently on it from the front. If you cant grasp it, you can use pair of tweezers or something but make sure not to jam it into anything...

Good luck, hope this helps...

My XP-247 printer has a history of inconsistent printing, especially on anything thicker than standard copy paper. Today, it's back to its old tricks; prints on matt photo paper but refused afterwards to repeat the operation.
Paper goes in but straight out without a mark, usually ejecting two sheets even though only one was called for.
Returning to paper - it's fine.
Anything else won't work.

This problem is not in the troubleshooting menu - although it really ought to be.

I've got a tough one for you this time. Well, maybe.

I need to create a custom paper size for an Epson LQ-590 dotmatrix printer. Currently running Windows XP Pro, and got the latest printer driver from Epson today.

I go back to the "Properties" for my Epson, get to the "advanced printing preferences" and open the dropdown menu for paper size....and my form is not there.

What the heck am I doing wrong? This is the same procedure I used for my previous printer (OkiData Microline) and everything was cool.

I suddenly don't like Epson.

I have an Epson WF 4740 printer. Haven't had it very long!

I had a paper jam which I easily cleared from the back of the printer. But the jam won't go away. I tried unplugging it from the back, I took out the paper trays to make sure I wasn't missing anything, I lifted up the rollers on the back of the printer. I wanted to try taking out the print cartridges but they are all the way over to the left on the machine and I can't take the cartridges out unless it is centered. Not sure this is the problem anyways.

I tried watching a youtube video, but I couldn't find one for the 4740 and the one I did watch had some things that didn't look like it could be done on my printer.

Does anyone have any earthly idea of what I can do? I have looked and looked and I don't see anymore paper jam.

Or a good do it yourself video for this printer.

I have a MacBook Air
OS Mohave 10.13.3

I'm wondering if I uninstalled then reinstalled the printer, maybe that would work??

Thanks!!

A:Paper jam error message on Epson wf 4740 won't go away

ps I was getting a message that the ink was low on my printer before the jam happened. Could that have anything to do with the problem?

Every time I try to print anything, my WF-2530 feeds a sheet through and reports paper out. The unit has seen little use and has never had a paper jam. I have carefully loaded only a few sheets of regular 20 lb paper and it does it every time. I have done the same with some Kodak photo paper for inkjet and gotten the same results. It simply does not detect that there is paper loaded.

I have tried resetting the unit, powering off then on, disconnecting and reconnecting the power cord. Nothing causes it to recognize that paper is loaded after it feeds the first sheet through. Press the 'OK' button and it will feed another sheet and continue to report 'paper out'.

I don't want to replace such a lightly used printer. If I can correct whatever is wrong with the paper sensor it would be a blessing. Help!

After having a paper jam in my Epson Stylus RX 620 the error message "Paper jam. Press the Color button. If the error is not cleared, please clear by hand" will not go away. I pressed COlor and the message did not go away. I manually cleared all evidence of a paper jam. There are no bits or pieces of paper left in the printer anywhere that I can find. The Setup button will not function. The buttons that do seem to function simply repeat the error message. There is nothing in the documentation that addresses this problem. This issue was previously discussed here but as that thread is expired I can't discover if anyone had a solution so I am compelled to start a new thread on this issue. How do I solve the problem short of buying a new printer?

I have an Epson 1400 printer.....I want to know if there is any issue at all in using non-Epson premium glossy paper for that setting when I print. Same question for other similar setting: if the setting on the printer is "Epson ultra-premim glossy photo paper," what if I use another brand of glossy photo paper instead?

I like the Epson paper, and I don't want to be penny-wise and pound-foolish....but if there are better deals out there for what amounts to the same product, I want to know that.

thanks!

I relize that this is a hardware problem, and I will also post it under hardware as well. I thought that someone in this catagory might have encountered this problem as well. Here goes, I purchased this printer about 2 years ago, so of course it is out of waranty! I have contacted Epson and got blah blah, the same obvious thing that is in the manual. Here finally, is my problem. the printer started kicking out a blank page between printed pages every so often, then it started kicking out 2 blank pages and stoping with the maintenence light on. I would check the paper and find nothing wrong, I would push the maintenence button and the printing would proceed. Now I have reached the point where a printed page is the exception and a paper jam is the norm. there is no paper jam! just the light coming on. what I see happening is that the paper as it starts to feed, stops just short of where the printer head would start to print. I have checked the rollers and cleaned them to no avail. I know I can go buy a new printer, but it just frost's me to have to replace a printer thats less then 2 years old! Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time! Rick
