Lenovo L380 Yoga: Audio lag issue

Q: Lenovo L380 Yoga: Audio lag issue

Hi all!I would like to know if any Lenovo L380 users have experienced audio lags? I am really beginning to hate the fact that everytime I listen to Youtube or any other website, I'd have to wait a second or two before I hear the audio. I hope that someone can help me with this problem. Cheers,JP

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Bought the latter and considering the former as a second A/C adapter. Does anyone know if it would work? I expect it to, but just looking before I leap.

Good morning! I'm asking this on behalf of a friend.  Is there a way to determine which audio chipset is installed in the L380?  I do see the codec listed in the platform specifications if it can be determined from that. We are trying to locate the latest drivers from RealTek in an attempt to get the "Stereo Mix" recording source back that Windows 10 has removed.   Thanks! - Nathan

My lenovo l380 yoga has some kind of layer peeling off the glass touchscreen, and on the bezels as well. This is the 3rd time I've had a problem with this device in 3 months. I don't want to send my computer to the depot back AGAIN, as it took around 1 month last time, and I spent so many hours on the customer service line, trying to find out the status, and waiting for parts.Im not very sure what this is, but I don't think this is supposed to happen, and if anyone could help out, that would be appreciated. The image of the peeling is below.

A few weeks ago, my L380 yoga just underwent a motherboard replacement, and that took such a long time. Now, ANOTHER PROBLEM HAS SURFACED. THE TRACKPOINT ON THE LAPTOP IS BROKEN. The TrackPoint is my main input device for pointing, and without it, I struggle to use my computer effectively. I have tried checking drivers and reinstalling, but nothing worked. An external USB mouse works as well as the touchpad, but I RARELY USE THOSE AS THEY ARE INCONVENIENT.

A:LENOVO L380 YOGA broken SECOND PROBLEM IN 2 MONTHS!

The TrackPoint only moves up and down, and when I move it sideways, either way, it doesn't move or skips right to the side of the screen.
If anyone has a quick fix for this please please please let me know. I need this computer to do important work, I don't want to send my computer to them and wait for who knows how long.

As stated in the title my Trackpoint is causing my cursor to drift to the right side of the screen. It only does this whenever I physically pick up the laptop or bend the right corner of the palmrest. I've tried to rule out any software related issues by updating the OS to the latest Windows Build, updating BIOS to 1.13, drivers for UltraNav. Once I realized none of this worked I rolled the BIOS back to 1.12 and restored the unit but it is still happening. If I turn off the Trackpoint in Control Panel -> Mouse the issue stops. I do not remember this happening when I first opened it. Any idea as to what is causing it? Thanks!

Hi all,Recently, one of my friends bought a ThinkPad L380 laptop. I would say the internal speaker has improved. The bass goes deeper and treble is more extended compared to the older model
To tweak the sound:1. Right-click the photo below, save as Desktop. You may try both to see which EQ you prefer.

2. Go to Start > All Apps (All Programs) > Dolby > Dolby Audio.

3. Drag it onto the Dolby Atmos application.Do take note that if you were to connect your external speaker/headphone to the headphone jack, change the EQ to others, or off. As this EQ preset is only optimized for L380, L380 Yoga, S2 and S2 Yoga Speakers, not optimized for your external speaker/headphone.Hope you enjoy this tweaks!

Hello, I've had my new yoga L380 for two days and am noticing that when it charges with supplied 65w USB C charger, both the power adapter brick and the laptop get very hot. The adapter itself gets almost too hot to hold in the hand. The laptop (i5) highest temp I have seen while charging was 85C, even though CPU load was only ~30%. Once it stops charging it cools down.I also had an issue during charging that the wifi connection dropped and I could not re-connnect to any other network, so it appeared that the heat was affecting the wifi module somehow. Troubleshooting gave no possible software issues and other devices were connected to the same wifi network. Is this normal? What kind of temps should I be expecting?I would be ok with slower charging if this prevents the issue but if something is wrong with my battery or charger I need to know. Thanks in advance.

Lenovo Yoga 3 11 - model 80J8:  out of warrantyI have done several searches and it seems there is a fairly common problem with some Yoga machines and audio.  All of a sudden a few months ago, the internal speakers went silent.  I did not notice it because I don't use it much for streaming audio, but when I do, I connect it to external speakers.  Audio to an external source functions fine, but internal speakers are silent.  Control panel and Device Manager show speakers functioning properly.I have read previous postings back to 2015 and it seems there is no real Lenovo reply or fix for this problem.  I have already tried to update the Realtek driver and that had no effect.  I am not willing to restore to factory default, since this machine shipped with Windows 8 and I upgraded to Windows 10 a few years ago.  The audio worked fine after the Windows 10 upgrade.  Respectfully, please only respond if you have factual data, rather than speculation.  This problem is well documented in the forums and elsewhere, but I have yet to find something concrete.I thought it may help to add a thread on the subject, as I expect others with the problem are frustrated, especially since there does not seem to be a formal response from Lenovo (that I can find)..  Thank you in advance!

Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht503655

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

This happened today: I was watching a TV show on my computer and the sound was ok.I unplugged my headphones and the audio symbol in the taskbar had a cross. It said "no audio output device is installed".No audio would come out of the PC.Apparently, the audio drivers were uninstalled, probably by some Windows 10 update. I downloaded the drivers from Lenovo's site and, when I installed them, the sound quality was awful and sound would take exactly 6 seconds after I hit play on Spotify or YouTube for the sound to actually come out, ie, I'd miss the first 6 seconds.I called support and they uninstalled the drivers and proceeded to do what I had done before: download the drivers again and re-install them. The audio quality improved but the 6 seconds with no audio remained and here I am now. Since they couldn't find the solution and told me to to a factory reset. But I'm looking into an alternate solution before factory resetting the laptop. Dows anyone have an idea of what could be wrong?

I have had no audio since I bought this unit a few weeks ago. There is a red x by the audio symbol and the error "no audio output device installed". I have tried to troubleshoot, uninstall and reinstall Realtek, update the drivers, complete a system restore (as some googling suggested it was a windows update) but the restore keeps failing as it is supposedly being blocked by the antivirus even when I disable Windows Defender. Nothing has worked. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

hello,I bought about a month ago the lenovo yoga 920 13IKB. Two weeks ago, after an automatic windows update, I noticed the sound came out was annoying BUZZING sound. I tried literally every thing, and used any help guide I could find. I deleted and re-installed the driver, I downloaded the driver directly from lenovo site, I cheked for automatic update for the driver. I contacted Microsoft help- and they said it looks like this problem is related to the manufacture. now there is no sound at all!! even the buzzing stopped.BTW- with headphones\ other speakers- the sound is great. my audio is- realtek high defintion audio (sst)since the computer is brand new - this will be outrageous if this problem is related to the speakers, and not the driver\ software. thanks.

I am looking to possibly upgrade the SSD and RAM in my L380 Yoga. Normally I would upgrade it myself but I have read the manual and do not have a lot of experience with opening laptops (since they started using clips instead of screws). Hello, A few weeks ago I had issues with my ThinkPad and, under warranty, was exchanged for a new ThinkPad L380 Yoga (honestly, I miss my last ThinkPad). My main problem with the L380 Yoga is the Pen Pro. I am a student and use Microsoft Word and OneNote daily, I never had any problems with the pen on my last laptop. However, the bottom (eraser) button on the side of the pen does not work consistently. It'll work for a short period of time until it stops randomly; the only way to fix this is to completely restart my computer. This is very inconvenient for me as I am rarely in a position where I can afford to lose a few minutes restarting my computer that often. The top (lasso) button on the side works perfectly fine and never has any issues. I tried switching the functionalities and the eraser worked on the top, but then the lasso stopped working with the bottom button. Has anyone else had a problem with this/know a solution? I want to get this figured out before my warranty expires. Every forum I have looked at online claims that Lenovo knows about this problem but is failing to come up with a solution to help customers. I've invested way too much money in laptops from this company to have such a hard time finding a solution to such a seemingly fixable problem! Thanks,Frustrated Customer

First thing to try is skipping the fingerprint and PIN logins and use the credentials for your Microsoft account. That should get you in, then you can reset the fingerprint and PIN Windows Hello functions.

Im very dissapointed but mostly strangled since my mobile phone, motog (lenovo) 2016 mid-low range of 1/10 price of PC, recognizes my fingerprints almost ALWAYS. the only way to improve the issue on the lenovo PC is to re-scan the finger(s),which last maybe couple of days. why on earth a 1KE PC needs re-scan every two days while a 100E mobile can last adjusted for a year? only lenovo engineers know

Hello Lenovo & community, I wanted to petition for the L380 Yoga to please be accepted into the LVFS[1], so that GNU/Linux users can upgrade device firmware using their OS distribution of choice. I can see Lenovo has already embraced the LVFS project, having submitted firmware for many dozens of Think products; even very similar models to the L380 Yoga are supported[2]! Thank you very much for this gesture. Please consider also enabling this machine for use with the service, to be able to upgrade things like hardware initialization + BIOS/UEFI, Wacom touch firmware, IR camera firmware, and the ThinkPad USB-C dock firmware, etc. I can see the NVMe SSD that comes with the L380 Yoga is already supported! Once again, thank you for your efforts, and for contributing to the libre and open-source community. Kind regards,Jean [1] https://fwupd.org[2] https://fwupd.org/lvfs/devicelist

Hey! Does anyone has any idea where I can buy a new Pen for the ThinkPad L380 Yoga? Most of the Pens available are made for a diffrent model and are therefore too long to fit in the pen silo of my TP L380 Yoga. The Pen that it came with it is ~123mmThe Pens available on the internet are 219mm (so they would stick out the silo and probably break) Also: is there a way to change the mine or do I have to buy a new Pen everytime? Kind regardsQ

Dear community,  I am thinking about getting a Thinkpad L380 Yoga since I need a more portable device than my T570. I did some research and found some issues I would like to ask real users of the notebook about. It would be great if some of you may take some time to answer my questions.  Display:  My T570 got a non-glaring screen, so usually the brightness is set to the lowest (or second lowest) value. Is this also possible with the L380 or is a higher brightness necessary under normal indoor conditions? Durability:  One reviewer stated that the build quality of the L380 is not on par with other Thinkpads. Is that true? Have you experienced damages caused by daily use? Active Pen Most reviews only mentioned very basic information on the Active Pen. As I am going to use it very often, I would like to know if there are some issues with it like jitters? If there is anything else you dislike about the L380 it would be great to know. Thanks in advance for your answers!

We're trying to deploy a Lenovo L380 Yoga (docking connected over USB) with SCCM/MDT.The reason for the docking is because this laptop doesn't have an onboard NIC. The driver package has been loaded into SCCM and we're able to launch LiteTouch.https://support.lenovo.com/us/nl/downloads/ds502364But once LiteTouch is launched, the lights on the NIC go out and we get the message:"A connection to the deployment share could not be made. Check Physical connection".We're sure that the physical connection to the server is okay because we're able to download the LiteTouch file from it, also we see a DHCP entry for the laptop. I'm not sure if this is a USB driver issue, as unplugging the docking from the USB and reconnecting it makes the NIC lights turn on for a brief period of time. Other USB devices seem to work just fine E.G: mouse, keyboard, ... Is there a special driver for the USB docking to work in LiteTouch?
