I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey so I recently purchased a systemboard replacement off of eBay. The 'Supervisor Password' was set. He found a different board to send to me to fix that problem. Thing is as far as i can tell its a T580 (01YR306) that he wants to send me. I have a T570 (02HL452) that I am replacing. Is this going to cause a problem like i think it might? My search results were limited when trying to get a full list of compatiable boards. And there is no way this supervisor password isnt some default setting? No other security features are enabled so I don't see why there would be a supervisor password set if nothign else is. I assume its from a company that just didnt remove it and all is legit just not usable for my situation. I mean i can boot into windows just fine. I didnt miss somethign about a default setting when the battery is removed for extended period of time though, did I? Thanks -James

I'm about to order a T580 today and I see there is a choice of "6cell Battery 48Wh Rear" and "3cell Battery 24Wh Rear". Does anyone own the 48Wh battery for the T580 (or T570) so that they can confirm if the 48Wh batter sticks out at all? I want a battery that does not raise the laptop. Also where can I buy a second (spare) battery that is exactly the same as the "6cell Battery 48Wh Rear" and "3cell Battery 24Wh Rear"? Are there any accurate pictures of the 6cell 48Wh battery online someone can send me a link to? Thanks in advance. Hi there. Out of nowhere my two month old T570 started beeping in Windows 10. It's not a BIOS or hardware failure code. Just an on-off-on-off beep forever. Also, the keyboard just doesn't work. I can thankfully plug in a USB keyboard. If unplug the keyboard ribbon connector the beeping immediately stops. But it instantly starts beeping again the instant the connector is reinserted. What's happening here?

Hi, thanks in advance for your help.I have a Thinkpad T570 with a UK keyboard, I would like to swap it with a french one.I did it for many Thinkpad, but I cannot find any french keyboard for this model ... is there any way to find this keyboard? or is there a model of Thinkpad compatible with the T570 keyboard ? Best regards,

A:Thinkpad T570 - keyboard change

There are two vendors and four french keyboards available for your T570:- FRU: 01EN939, Tachi NBL KBD,FR,CHY.- FRU: 01ER552, Tachi BL KBD,FR,CHY.- FRU: 01ER511, Tachi NBL KBD,FR,LTN.- FRU: 01ER593, Tachi BL KBD,FR,LTN. CHY means Chicony and LTN - LiteON.NBL stands for non backlit and BL - backlit. If you ask me, which one vendor will be better, then in the past LiteON made pretty good keyboards and Chicony one of worst in comparison to other. I have seen, that LiteON's keyboards are available on eBay.  Keyboards for T570 are allowed to be replaced by customer, so you'll not lose warranty after replacing keyboard (obliviously, if you don't damage something in the process).

Any suggestions of this? Do I need to replace the whole keyboard?  I am kind of disappointed on Lenovo quality control, how a big company let this small issue happen...

I have been using T410 for 6 years and finally replaced it with a T570. I love the screen, but really hate the new keyboard. Seriously, I'm having physical pain in my right wrist now.  While I can't change the layout of the keyboard, I do notice that they keyboard has a "lighter" feel when typing. My wife has a T460 and the keyboard is far superior, in my opinion. I did a little bit Googling, and it seems, according to a Laptop Mag review, the T570 keyboard has a shorter travel (1.6mm, compared with 2mm on T470) and a lighter required actuation force (60 gram, compared to 70 gram on T470). I'm writing my dissertation on this machine, and I'm seriously thinking about getting an external keyboard. This keyboard is not comfortable at all. Who buys a T series for an inferior keyboard?  Why the difference, Lenovo? Is there a FRU keyboard that offers a 2mm travel and >60g required actuation force?

I refer to another similar complain post, I just met a similar problem with lenovo bad screen quality and poor customer service. I bought Thinkpad T580 laptop last year and used in a  normal  environment (always on the desk in my home). One day I found there is a 2x2cm light/white spot on the screen bottom area, which can only be observed when the screen background is in white color. Lenovo told me that it's cased by outside pressure  and they are not covering my screen replacement  under warranty. I own another thinkpad x260 which use in my daily and oversea business travel for over three years and everything is still fine. That's why I purchase T580 for my home use. It is disppointing  that Lenovo can  not  stand behind their product and stand behind their promise to customers (warranty).  Lenovo advertises the Thinkpad T580 as following on their webside: "We test ThinkPads against 12 military-grade requirements and more than 200 quality checks to ensure they run in extreme conditions. From the arctic wilderness to desert dust storms, from zero-gravity to spills and drops, you can trust your T Series device to handle whatever life throws your way." I disgree with their statement and  not going to pay ~$295 parts+ ~30 labour total around 325 to fix my screen. Very disapointed with Lenovo quality and customer service, I won't consider Lenovo again if there is another choice.

Ok, the obvious choice that most people would say for games is psp. And I dont beg to differ. But what about the DS and the Itouch. The reason im posting this is because I want a general consensus about fair comparisons.

Ok. Most places compare the DS and the PSP, end even if we are talking about the ds-i, this comparison is not fair. The DS is smaller then the psp, has a touch screen and the DS-i is meant to be used as a mp3 player type thing rather then a console, (at least thats my opinion!)

So, why is it that the DS is still being compared to the PSP. Any DS owner with half a brain has at least considered to get an R4 DS card with micro SD support so that they can use thier DS as a media player.

The DS-i has the added feature of a camera, making it the most mobile-phone like console that you are probebly ever going to see. I mean they may as well go ahead and put a peciever in it and call it the DS-3G.

So why do we still compare it to the PSP? The games are the same quality as the itouch for a start, but the DS does have a lot of very similar features to the Itouch.

Anyway, post ur opinoins,
James

A:DS versus PSP versus itouch

Simple answer, I guess. PSP, DS et al are all hand held, portable units. They are competing for the same market, and so they have the same target consumer group. As for smaller, touch screen etc, well, thats the features nintendo decided to use.
As far as the DS-i being a media player, well, I would see it the other way. the DS-i has a number of features nintendo have put forward as improvements, to cater to the market as they see it.

Just because it doesnt seem fair to compare different systems, its the way it is. People buy them as a protable games console, so they are compared. The PSP has always been able to link to the PS- a big plus in consolidation.

Theres no real right or wrong- never are in opinion- but I think that if we have a market, everything is fair game in it

Hello, sorry for posting these basic questions but I've done some research and I want to make sure that I make the right decision when buying a new T580. I've been out of the loop in tech for a few years now, and I'm just learning now about hardware BIOS whitelists, etc. I want to buy the most basic T580 model and make sure I can upgrade certain components later on when I have the money available to do so.  1) Can I upgrade the basic model with the i5-8250u / 4GB RAM to 16GB of RAM later on? PSREF says yes, up to 32GB, and I've watched videos that say there are two slots for RAM available. Just want to make sure there is not any limitation and that I can upgrade later on to at least 16GB. 2)I already have a Samsung SSD - SATA III 2.5 inch. Since this model has a 2.5 drive I assume I can replace it with mine. But am I limiting myself in anyway for future updates if I don't get one of the NVME drives now? 3) I would possibly like to get the WWAN card later on. Is it possible to buy and add one later on?  4) Will this computer run dual 4k external monitors, should I ever get them?  Since money is very tight, my only priority right now would be to get the stuff I cannot add later on (3840 x 2160 screen, possibly graphics card but would have to bump up to 8350u).  Thanks!

Disable secure boot (Security > Secure Boot). Save (F10); repeat first attempt. Hello everyone,I would like to take advantage of the current sale on T line (since I kind of need the laptop ASAP). Hence all the questions: 1. I am planning to get the UHD screen. Some places reference it as 100% AdobeRGB while the shopping page just says 400 nit. How accurate are the colors, really? I do some photography editing on the go, so this would be a great thing to have. 2. Speaking of UHD screen - how big of a power drain should I expect? I plan on getting smallest batteries to minimize the weight and then purchasing an extra batter (probably the large one) to supplement for cases when I'll be away from power outlets for extended periods. Any recommendations here would be great. 3. Upgradability - I want to order the cheapest HDD because instead $200 that Lenovo is asking for 256GB NVMe drive I can buy a 500GB 970 @ $140 or 1 TB @ $277. If ordered with regular (spin) disk - do I have a hardware present to use NVMe HDD? Or do I need to order additional cable? 4. Temperatures - how hot does it get under heavy loads? Thanks in advance for responses.

Hi, i have poured all of my summer money into a brand new T580.I belived i was getting superior build quality and keyboard. Well at least one of these is true. But it came with its share of problems The plastic only chasis bends even when picking the notebook up -> the screen is getting scratched by the keyboard. The static crackling sounds with ultrasound circuit whining  in Windows resolved only by disabling TurboBoost and underclocking aka Intel SpeedStepInability to wake up from the deeper sleep/suspend. I have dualboot and waking up after suspending from Windows gets me into Linux every time. Pressing F12 does nothing. And then after i restart into Windows my mouse in the Thunderbolt port stops working. So i got to reboot a second time. The motherboard has no daughterboards, wrecking one port means replacing the whole motherboard or resoldering the portNitpickingFirmware takes 6-7 secs to do its thing on every boot.Non existant Linux fingerprint drivers .Keyboard does not remember it's backlight settings between reboots. The top plastic is uncleanable. It becomes hydrophobic where you touch it frequently. If something has a solution please let me know. I am more than happy to try it.Sending the notebook for repair would likely solve nothing.I just expected the machine to live up to the legacy it has. There is so many cheaper convertibles and gaming laptops i did not buy just to have this one and so far, i don't feel like it was worth it.So ple... Yesterday while playing a not strenuous game the laptop was quite hot, on my mac i had installed a fan control software (smcFanControl) where the OS would only be overridden when i chose to manually turn up or down the fan, i tried that with this laptop and the fan control software most highly recommended seemed to fiddly so i uninstalled it.  Now the laptop is running hot with the fan on for tasks like Word where it never ran hot before. Any ideas on how to fix this? Laptop is less than two months old

It died with my data after just one year and it's the most expensive nvme option. I bought this T570 since my previous X1 Carbon randomly freezes itself for every 3-4 hours. Good job Lenovo, you've completely ruined my faith in "best business laptop" Thinkpad,, Ironically my four years old cheap $600 ASUS laptop which I bought during  a travel still works well!!

A:T570 ssd died!!

Do you recall running Vantage or Lenovo System Update during the last 2 weeks, ie, around August 4, and seeing a FIRMWARE update for your M.2 device?
