I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I have a M720Q tiny desktop. Originally it never came with wifi or bluetooth installed. Narrowed down 2 intel wifi/BT cards but not sure of compatibility due to whitelist issues? 01AX769 AC 926001AX704 AC 8265 Any ideas which of these will work ? Ideally would prefer the AC9260 as it supports BT 5.0 Thank you

AC 9260 may work, however AC 8265 is listed in the system specs, and was shown as the wireless option when I run the purchasing configurator today.

My desktop works with Win98 1st and has two USB ports. Needing an extra port, I purchased an USB card for PCI slot. It doesn't work, The system simply doesn't recognize it.
Then I read a small script in the manual booklet (not appearing on the package!), stating: "This USB card is meant for computers without any USB support on board".
Is there anything I can do?

A:Additional USB card

update the driver, and if that doesn't work, take the card out and put it back in again. and if your system has a PCI modem card, try taking it out. i've had a 98 system not work with USB because of modem, oddly enough.

I purchased my computer a while back and it came with a few USB ports, however over time i have had the need to use more and more USB ports and ran out. I decided scince i didn't have any spare slots to put in more USB ports i'd remove the useless wireless card that came as part of the system and replace it with a USB card. However, despite numerous attempts of installing and reinstalling drivers I'm still getting errors in device manager for 2 out of the 4 ports and it seems like anything plugged in any of those ports has at best a 50/50 chance of being detected. The other thing being that even though the card was USB 2.0 compatible, if the hardware i plug in works on that port, a popup will come up on my screen saying that the device i plugged in can work faster if it were plugged into a USB 2 port. Any ideas? If any other info is needed please do ask ^^

Hi,

I've currently have 2 seagates hard drives running in my computer, as well as 2 CDRW/DVDRW drives. The only problem with this is that now i am unable to connect any additional drives to my mother board, as I've used all the free IDE slots(i think thats what it is called) in my motherboard.

Someone told me about some sort of PCI card that if i connect it to my computer, it would give me 2 additional IDE Slots, and that i could easily connect another large hard drive or additional drives to.

Please can anyone let me know the name of this type of card? or any good brands that i could use?

I really need to add an additional 300gig hard drive to free up some space on my system for downloads etc.

I've tried searching on google for it, but was unsure about the results, as the majority seemed to be for mac, and i need it to run on my windows xp system.

any advise would be much appriciated.

thank you.

A:PCI Card to add additional Hard drives

First you should check to see if your motherboard has any Serial ATA ports. If it does then you can get a SATA hard drive.

Or you can get an external USB drive.

If not then this is the card you are looking for: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16816102007

Or to add SATA ports: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815102102

I've just taken a couple of old PCs from my parents' house and begun to upgrade them. There are video problems with both, but I'll just give you one problem for now and come onto the other later!

Basically one of the machines I want to be able to use for projection, so I purchased an additional video card. It's a fairly old machine, so it only has PCI slots. I purchased an ATI Rage 128VR from Amazon for £17 (not allowed to post a link yet, this being my first post). The original video card is separate, not on-board.

The problem is, XP starts up and begins to install the new video card (I see the balloon pop up in the bottom right hand corner) but about 30 seconds later the screen goes blank and doesn't come back on (that is, "No Input Signal" appears on the monitor and it switches off). This is an LCD screen plugged into the OLD video card. There is currently nothing plugged into the new one.

In addition, nothing appears on the screen until the Windows welcome screen appears. So no BIOS on-screen.

I also installed new memory at the same time, but wouldn't have thought that would be the problem.

A:Additional video card problem

I think when the screen goes blank the new card is up and running, and it's best to completely uninstall and remove the first video card before you install the second video card. The computer will run or should run with the new card in place at default settings until you get the driver loaded.

I need to know if I add an additional sound card on a PCI slot on my motherboard will it help me using the headphones on applications for DJ mixing ?
For e.g. If I want to use Virtual DJ and I am mixing the tracks, will I be able to hear 1 track separately while the other is playing on the main output ?

You'd have better luck getting an answer to this on the Virtual DJ forums, or by talking to someone at a music store like Sam Ash or Guitar Center.

HiI wish to add a new graphics card - a geforce gtx 1060.
I know how to insert, power up etc - but on starting the PC with the card in I get stuck on the blue bar at the dell boot screen.  then a single beep.  then again. then again.etc.
if i insert old card the pc boots fine, so it's not an MB failure.(manual says single beep might be that)
I'm thinking it might be the power supply that came with the unit isn't good enough.
any thoughts?  what should i rpelace it with if i am right?

cheers all!

A:Dell XPS 8500 additional video card

Did you connect the power connector on the top edge of the new card to the PSU?  It's a 6-pin PCI-e power plug from the power supply.
You can try this, assuming the card is being connected correctly:
With the old card installed, reboot and immediately press F2 to open BIOS setup. Copy down all current settings just to be safe.
Then power off, unplug, and press/hold power button for ~15 sec. Open case and remove motherboard battery. Press/hold power button for ~30 sec. Swap in the new video card. Then reinstall the battery. (Might be good time for a fresh one if this one is old.)
Close up and see if it works with the new board now...

Wasn't exactly sure where to put this question.
I have a machine with a h67a-ud3h-b3 MOBO abd an currently using both video outputs. Nice board. Does anyone know if I can add an addtional video card to the board without having to disable the on-board video. Yes, I'd like a 3 or 4 monitor system. Everything I've found on the subject is very vague.

A:Can I Add Additional Display Card to Gigabyte h67a-ud3h-b3?

Hi,

I assume you are using the onboard graphics only?

Yes, you can add a graphics card to the PCIe 16x slot on the motherboard which will allow for a 3rd monitor, and it will not disable the onboard graphics.

I recently purchase 2 identical M720q tiny desktops. Both of them can't output from their HDMI ports. One of them is still running the original factory install and so it isn't missing any drivers or anything. They both output from their DisplayPorts without a problem. But nothing connected to the HDMI port gets recognized at all.  I have tried both computers with the same cable and monitor. They are both behaving the same way. It is as if they aren't connected to anything at all. To be sure that the cable isn't bad, I plugged it into my laptop and my laptop displays to this monitor just fine.  I ran Lenovo Vantage and also Windows update. That didn't help. I also checked the BIOS as one post suggested and changed it to IGP instead of Auto, but the BIOS does no show an option for multi-monitor.

Hi all,I have a ThinkCentre M720q.I'm desperately looking for "Line-in port features" or at least the option (via software) to use the Mic input as a Line-in port instead. Over the past days I have carried out numerous tests on the M720q units as far as video and audio capture are involved. While there were absolutely no issues as far as video capture using a third party device over usb3 is concerned, I cannot say the same for audio capture. I updated all software, drivers, firmware and everything else that came to mind, in the hope of getting a jack input selection window or being able to choose/change the scope/purpose of the Mic input port on the unit to no avail. Is the Mic input port re-taskable to start off with and if so, how do I go about changing it?Is there a particular cable I should use, or some additional software/bios setting I need to install, set or activate in order to be able to change the properties of the Mic input port (pink) to Line-in (blue)? If the M720q is not the correct model,Would you so kind to suggst a model Lenovo (Tower, SFF, Tiny) that has the Line-in port features? Thank you in advance!

We've seen the errors on each computer when plugged into different switches, ports, cables, rooms, etc. One was repaired with a replaced motherboard, one wasn't - I don't know if I got a dud replacement also, or if there's some driver issue.  We have heavy use of NFS shares and when we get one of these with wired NIC errors, the performance of the GUI and just using the OS goes through the floor. I'm beginning to wonder if there's an incompatibility or we just got a run of bad NICs or what.

Hi everyone, i'm having an intemittent problem between my Tiny M720q and my 2010 Toshiba HDTV via HDMI. Occasionally, if I turn on the Toshiba first then I cold boot the PC I get a message on the Toshiba TV that there's no video signal. If I turn on the Tiny first, wait a few seconds then turn on the Toshiba HDTV, then I have a video signal. (Successful 98% of the time) Sometimes doing the above i.e. turn on M720q, wait a few seconds then turn on the TV will also result in no video. That's rare although it happened twice in a row this morning. I don't think it's a problem with the M720q as once I get past that quirk the display never loses a signal. So my question is, if this is just a HDMI Handshake quirk?

When I use the 24.20.100.6287 driver I also get a third screen in screen resolution, that is not supposed to be there. I have tried on three different screens.
