I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,I have flashed my laptop's BIOS with the tool from the support page, I can see that the new BIOS version is installed (0ZCN26WW), but the EC version is different (0ZEC25WW).I have even enabled the BIOS rollback feature so I could flash it twice as I've seen in a different post, but still no good luck. Is this a normal behaviour? Should let it be, or do I have to do anything else? Thanks,Alex

Hello everybody! I just picked up my new V310-15ISK with Windows 10 Professional. The notebook came with a Western Digital 1TB hard drive and I want to change it with a Samsung 850 Evo SSD. Certainly, I want to keep all the recovery partitions, which means that I have to shrink them to the new drive's size 250GB. I made a clone with AOMEI Partition Assistant but it doesn't boot it gives error code 0xc0000000e "your system needs maintencance". Any ideas?

I have a Lenovo notebook V310-15ISK type 80SY and I want to upgrade my RAM.What is the maximum memory that can be installed? It has a 4 gb of DDR4-2133 MHz soldered on the motherboard and one open slot for adding additional memory. The hardware manual says 'maximum supported memory'   - 8gb.Does this mean the most that can be added is 4gb?   or can an 8gb stick be added?

Hi, this is my first post in this forum. So I just bought this IdeaPad V310-15ISK model a week ago and it really seems like a solid budget laptop, except for one thing, the fan will sometimes make this noise that sounds like the fan is about to run at full speed but only last like 2 seconds, it happens randomly like every 30 minutes or hour and it's really annoying. It has been doing this since the beginning. The laptop came without an OS so I installed Windows 7 x64 on it, but it also happens with other operating systems like Linux. Is this a normal thing of this model? or is just a problem of my laptop? what can I do to fix it?

Hello everyone, I've been looking around and can't seem to find a model number specifically, but I want to replace the battery on my V310-15ISK, so if anyone could advise where to get an original replacement battery, I'd appreciate it.Secondly, the back panel on my laptop is missing a few screws, so it's not fully attached to the laptop. I was replacing the wireless card and upgrading my RAM and I have misplaced 2 screws that hold the back panel on, so if anyone knows where to get those and what exact size they are, I'd be even happier. All replies will be appreciated. Thanks

Hello, Recently I bought a Lenovo V310-15ISK with 1 TB HDD storage and I bought an M.2 Intel SSD 600p 256GB because I read on this page about "Dual Storage Option" feature. The problem is with the SSD, it doesn't show up in BIOS as HARD 2 or HARD 1 (I can see just the HDD), but when I try to install Windows 10 I can see the SSD but I cannot create a new partition on it every time when I try to create a new parition the installer hangs for about 3 minutes and show an error message (We couldn't create a new partition [Error 0xa4cc6be0].), I can't even create a new parition in Disk Management. What I did:Update the BIOS to the latest version.Use Intel Data Migration Software to create a new parition and migrate the Windows from HDD to SSD.Installed the SSD on my PC and create a new Windows partition and it worked (but on the laptop it doesn't work).

Hi Jose,

Welcome to Lenovo Community! And happy to have you here.

This system is configured with Optical disk drive (not a dummy) which needs to be remove first in order to use 2nd battery in your system. Also you have to purchase the Second battery board as system was equipped with ODD here, which contains the ODD board.
You can check the components of your system by using Lenovo Parts lookup

I hope the above information helped you.

Anyone have any idea on how to circumvent this? Also, can anyone provide instructions on how to backup and flash BIOS and EC under DOS? Hi Assen,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Built in application like Lenovo Setting and Lenovo companion do offer power management features.
Once you have it updated it would soon update the software to the new Lenovo Vantage for Windows 10.
You can read this document to know more about it.

Once you have it instralled after a fresh restart, you can navigate through hardware setting and click on the Power button where you can change the battery threshold to your liking, else keep the recommended defaults for battery conservation.

Other ways to take care of your battery here on this article.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Hello, I got this message a few days back when Lenovo Companion said it wanted to perform an important update after I accepted: This BIOS is only for Lenovo Paris 300-14/15/17ISK. Are you sureu you want to perform it?  I checked the bios I have which is D5CN28WWMy machine is the IdeaPad 300 300-15ISK. I do not know if it is the 'Lenovo Paris'. I cannot see that branding anywhere. I checked Lenovo's site and I see there is a critical BIOS update listed for the ideapad 300-14IBR & ideapad 300-15IBR. http://support.lenovo.com/ie/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/300-Series/300-15ibr?tabName=Downloads... There is not one listed for the 300-15ISK.  Does that mean I need to update the BIOS as I have 15ISk which is not listed as needing a critical update. The companion software seems to think I do need it.I do not know what to do.  Updating the BIOS is fairly important thing so I would lik some input from someone at Lenovo before I proceed. Thank-you.

I just bought the aforementioned laptop. Installed win 8.1 to test it, all worked fine but the wifi.
It does not see any wireless networks with that system, just few troubled device drivers and one Unknown device.

After that I installed the latest version of Ubuntu to see if wifi works. It doesn't either. I can turn wifi on and off, but it keeps disabled. After few vain attempts to activate it using online tutorials i opened Ubuntu terminal to check all my PCI devices using the lspci command. The lspci returned the following devices:

A:New V310-15ISK incapable of wi-fi

Hi, welcome to the forum.

I  don't have much experience with Linux, just with Windows on this machines.

If Windows Device Manager does not sees the wireless adapter (or an unknown device) it may mean that the device is faulty or disconnected.

For what  you have posted, it seems to me that on Linux the device is being recognize "03:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros Device 0042 (rev 30)". But I don't know how to install that driver on Linux.
It may mean that the device is recognized and turned on, but if even with the right driver is installed and it is not working it may mean that is a fautly wiress card hardware.

My next step would be to try to get a different card and open up the machine and try changing it, but it depends if you feel confortable open up a laptop.

Regards
