windows exception at startup in xp pro

Q: windows exception at startup in xp pro

Hi. I recently reformatted and set up win xp pro, then made a partition with acronis and added Win7. I did so initially with two data HDDs unplugged and an unreadable floppy (write protected) in the floppy drive. Later, with all HDDs and no disk in floppy the exception continues.

All seems well but I get the following exception when I startup XP -
c00000a3 parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c

Googling suggests it may be an infection, though NOD was installed pretty quickly (though there was a chance for open connection while xp updated). NOD finds no problems of consequence beyond the ask toolbar nero 6.6 offers as an option at install - no big deal. NOD scans v3 for xp and v4 beta for Win7 show no infections.

I have not used hijack this but am open to it.

The box is asus p5q deluxe, 8500 dual core, 4 gb ocz 1066 memory, nvidia 260, 300 raptor, 500 and 640 HDDs. I've installed xp lots of times, Win7 3x - this is a new issue.

I'd be grateful for any guidance.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

everything i've seen is about delfin and promulgate. after i clicked ok the 1st time a fatal error with promulgate universe pops up...i've looked everywhere for promulgate and i can't find anything, i believe i've already uninstalled it, i've also uninstalled delfin and don't have promulgate anymore. i have not seen anything that has to do with this address. this also comes up when i play grand theft auto: vice city, when i get to a certain part it stops play and this pop up comes up behind it, and when i click ok, it tells me that a fatal error has occured. if you can help me i would greatly appreciate it, its gotten very annoying.

so i downloaded something that happened to have a virus on it.

i knew i was screwed, but didnt know to what extent.

i did a scan and "removed" two instances of the Vundo virus with Vundofix; however, i still got the same pop ups.

i rebooted just as Vundofix said to do and when i tried to reboot it claimed that i had a Windows No Disk error: Exception Processing Message c000013 Parameter 75b6bf9c. (i understand quicktime/itunes has something to do with this occasionally, but think it has more to due with the virus.)

now everytime i boot up i get to the login menu and it loads fine. just before the icons come up though, i get this No Disk error. i click "continue" and another comes up. i do it three times and then it sends me back to the login menu so now i cant even get onto my desktop.

i would just do a clean install, but i've got some important files on my hard drive that i'd rather not part with.

thank you in advance, fernando.

Hello fernandoBOT

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode?

If you can do that try a System Restore.

If you can`t do that can you access the Safe Mode Options screen (the one with Last Known Good Config etc on it)
Boot into Safe Mode by pressing F8 at bootup and choose
'Safe mode with command prompt'

At the command prompt type

Hopefully this will open System Restore.

hi guys,

okay. here I go. everytime I restart the computer, I get a "Windows No Disk error: Exception Processing Message c000013 Parameter 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c" popup window. actually, I get two of them. I was trying to read some of the posts and their advice, so I uninstalled quicktime but it still keeps happening. I recently had a 2nd internal hard drive installed so I don't know if that has something to do with it?

I also apparently downloaded something with a virus. I don't know. but everytime I open internet explorer, I get an ad popup of some sort and everything runs reaaaaally slow. it took me like six tries to get on this site. I can't open any of my email sites (yahoo or gmail... or yahoo search or google, for that matter) because they don't load. no errors, just the load bar keeps loading but nothing happens. I have done the add/remove programs thing to look for anything suspicious (nothing), and I finished the panda security scan but was not able to see it because it required me to check my email after registering, which I can't do. I also was not able to get spyware blaster because I couldn't get google to load. I was able to do a HJT scan though, so this is it:

Hello kelz,

If you still require assistance, we prefer a more comprehensive set of logs to assist in detecting any malware that may be present. As noted in the final step (Step 5) of our sticky topic IMPORTANT - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help....

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop.

What DSS will do:create a new System Restore point in Windows XP and Vista.
clean your Temporary Files, Downloaded Program Files, and Internet Cache Files, and also empty the Recycle Bin on all drives.
check some important areas of your system and produce a report for your analyst to review.
DSS automatically runs HijackThis for you, but it will also install and place a shortcut to HijackThis on your desktop if you do not already have HijackThis installed.

Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.Close all applications and windows.
Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt <-this one will be minimized
Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt in your next reply.
Please attach extra.txt to your post.

Hello, awhile ago my pc was infected with a virus masquerading as an anti virus program (windows defender I think, I've run malwarebytes anti-malware to get rid of that particular problem). While it was still on my computer it seemed to download some other program or programs which have not gone away and they're causing some serious problems. so far the symptoms are that around 75% of the time, my computer will freeze during startup, and when it does startup I get many messages saying things like " a breakpoint exception has been reached", and "google updater/internet explorer/adobe flash player has encountered a problem and must shutdown". I also am unable to start many programs which worked fine before I got this virus, such as AVG scanner (the main part of AVG works fine, but when I hit scan, nothing happens) Google updater uninstaller (I tried to re-install it when I noticed the error message but it wouldn't start) and probably most important, Malware bytes Anti-malware (this is what I was using to try to get rid of it). I also am unable to perform google searches without being redirected when I click the link. My computer is also just slower in general, and makes lots of noise like its thinking, even when im not doing anything. The things I tried have done so far to get rid of this virus are1. I ran Malware bytes anti malware program, (I had to download a randomly named file to get it to work)This was back when I still had Windows Defend... Read more

For a long time now i have been getting BSOD's, pretty much all of the time from System Service Exception and KMode Exception Not Handled. Sometimes the PC never gets to the BSOD and just freezes up and restarts. This happens at any time whether im doing nothing or on the internet, sometimes it happens before the PC can load up fully. Most of the time though it happens when i am gaming. I rebuilt most of my PC but this still carried on. The parts that i have replaces are the PSU, RAM, Graphics Card and the case as well as adding in 2 extra fans. The temperature stays withing good values. The PC also often gets stuck on the post boot screen where it says "SMART Check Capable and OK" and it will take a few minutes for it to get past this stage and carry on loading, but this doesnt happen not all the time. I have tried diagnosing this myself but i have hit a wall. I ran Seatools and the HDD failed all of the tests, however after checking the fail code this was simply because it couldnt find the serial number. The HDD then passed tests from both CrystalDiskInfo and DiskCheckup. I thought that it was either the HDD or the MB as they are the only components not to be replaced. Since HDD seems to have passed its SMART tests i am inclined to believe it is the MB. PLEASE HELP!!!

I keep getting Exception Code 3221225477 with Exception Address 005019A9 on my computer when I start it up and sometimes during my use of the computer.
It just started up after I put a cannon camera photostitch program on my computer. I have deleted. Then I did all the updateds that were needed plus cleaning out my computer(defragmenting, disk clean up, removing temporary files).
I even went in and stopped programs from starting up when I turn on my computer to make it faster and to see if it was one of them that was causing the problem. It still keeps coming up. Does anyone know why this happens?

My message comes up as

Unexpected Error
An Unexpected error has occured and this application will close. Then the exception code and exception address follows.
Exception Code 3221225477 Exception Address 005019A9

But when I click on ok nothing closes and I can work on my computer. Then sometimes during the course of working on the computer, the message comes up again but again nothing closes.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any replies.

My guess is that there is a Startup entry which you need to remove. Some remain behind even when a given program may thought to have been completely uninstalled.I'd use AutoRuns for Windows - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx to take a look at the items listed on the Logon tab and see if any apparently relate to your troublesome program. If so, I would delete it, but you can either disable or delete that startup item.Louis

Hi Guys,

I'm a composer working on a deadline and have started to experience quite intermittent BSOD's.
It appears to happen at higher system loads.
I'm reasonably experienced in building custom machines (this is my third on), and so far have never experienced issues with them.
This current one is a racked i7 3930K Hexacore on a Sabertooth x79, with 32gb of Ramm and a GTX470.
I'm using Nuendo 6 in 64 bit mode (Cubase's bigger brother) with an RME Fireface 800.
The fireface runs via firewire and has its own pcie card for this.
In addition there is an external G-tech drive connected via Esata.

In the last week I've been having 1-3 bsod's a day..a real productivity killer and I hope someone can help me out. I've used Whocrashed to at least get an indication of what it might be, but I don't have much experience with minidumps.

The only thing that I have noticed is that Windows is attempting a surface scan during startup, which fails due to a 'recently installed software package' I have no idea what that might be.
I've not been able to do a diskchk on C:
Regardless, C: seems to work fine and I've not noticed any issues.

Drivers are pretty much up to date.

I'm attaching a dump, would someone mind having a look and giving me a clue? Thanks in advance!

Having problems with my computer running Windows XP Pro 2002 SP3. Had a virus that attacked a different computer on our network and ran Malwarebytes, Spybot and Avast. All scans came up clean. If I leave the computer for awhile (several hours) my "All Programs" list goes away, the list of recently used applications is gone and if I try to do a Shutdown or Restart it comes back that "I am not authorized to do that". I am now also getting exception errors:
"exception unknown software exception (0xc00000fd) occurred in the application at location 0x01006a25" and "explorer.exe application failed to initialize properly (0xc000012d)". In an effort to try stop antivirus programs from conflicting with each other, I uninstalled malwarebytes and have avast running in resident and Spybot not in resident but demand only. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We might be able to gain some insight into the situation.
If someone were to suggest you do a Clean install of Win 10, would you consider it?  I assume there are Win 10 drivers for that system?  Is there a Win 10 Recovery image available for download?

My Windows XP Desktop was operating a little slower then usual, so I rebooted it with the Shutdown:Restart windows command. It will now only boot up to mup.sys and hangs.
I was troubleshooting and thought I would try to eliminate the mouse and keyboard as a possible cause.
I unplugged USB mouse and keyboard (This PC only has USB connections for mouse and keyboard) and rebooted the PC. The PC booted up correctly. So I got my mini laptop and tried a remote connection. The PC works perfectly as a host for a Remote Desktop as long as the PC and Mouse are unplugged.
I have tested the keyboard and mouse on another PC and they both work fine.
Any ideas of what might be corrupted to cause this problem.

Can anyone tell me how to create an exception in windows firewall so I can play my game. I have windows10 on 4 computers but my newest laptop wont go to my games site it says there is something wrong with the security certificate. I have been playing games on this games site for about 10 years with no real problems. I have norton security on this latest laptop, I have never liked norton
but decided to give it another chance on my latest laptop. Now I dont know if its the firewall or norton causing this problem but i'me biased against norton, still going to give it a chance though so i'll concentrate on creating an exception in the firewall first. Can someone tell me how to do this in windows10?

A:How to create an exception in Windows 10 firewall

What version of Norton? It very likely comes with a firewall, in which case, Windows firewall should be disabled.

Not sure you need to create an exception anyway, have you tried this?

Hey everyone,

About three weeks ago i started having problems with java.
I removed the old builds with JavaRa.
After that i went to the Control Panel, where i removed some builds that JavaRa didn't detect.
I've set the JDK path in the PATH system variable.
In the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment, the "currentversion" variable is 1.8.
But everytime i start, for example, Minecraft, i get this:

Hello Nelpiece,

The files removed by AVG would only be java cache and shouldn't be the source of that error message. It's likely coincidence, since I do see infection running in your log. Before we proceed, I do need to see a log from a rootkit scanner. Please download Rootkit Unhooker and save it to your desktop.

Close all open programs and browsers, then Double-click RKUnhookerLE.exe to run it.Click the Report tab, then click Scan
Check Drivers, Stealth Code, Files, and Code Hooks
Uncheck the rest, then click OK
When prompted to Select Disks for Scan, make sure C:\ is checked and click OK
Wait till the scanner has finished then go File > Save Report
Save the report somewhere you can find it. Click Close
Copy the entire contents of the report and paste it in your next reply.

Note** you may get the following warning. Please click OK to continue:

"Rootkit Unhooker has detected a parasite inside itself!
It is recommended to remove parasite, okay?"

I bumped this to the top, not to agitate anyone but, to inform anyone interested that I went back to the site I provided the link for in my initial post. After going through all the stress of following 14 pages to post everything here and already seeing 45 views and no reply, I thought I had better go back there (consumingexperience.com). I got up the nerve to follow the detailed steps to change the Drive letters and reboot. I am happy I did because it worked. Those annoying pop ups are gone.Thank all of you for your time !!!

I recently built myself a new computer, but I seem to be having some trouble with games. In every single game I've tried installing (most notably Dungeon Siege, Homeworld, and Homeworld: Cataclysm) I get crashes at random intervals. I've been able to run the Homeworld games for over an hour at times without any problems, but Dungeon siege crashes just about every minute!

Dungeon siege gives me the error, "Exception Detected!" and then tells me that it needs to close the program.

Here's my computer setup

Athlon XP 2400+
Soyo Dragon KT-400 Ultra Mobo
1 Gig Mushkin Blue 3200 DDR 400 (tested for errors using memtest 86)
120 Gig Western Digital Hard Disk
Radeon 9500 Pro
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
TDK Velo-CD CD/RW (52x/24x/32x)
Standard Floppy Disk Drive.
Koolance EXOS cooling system Connected to the Processor, Video Card, and Mobo Chipset
Windows XP Pro SP1
The latest graphics and sound drivers.
Direct X 9.0b

Here's what I've tried so far.

Reinstalling the games several times.
Defragging and running Checkdisk (bad sector search)
Running the games with only DX 8.1
Running the games with only minimal drivers, no other programs installed.
Disabling Write Caching and DMA on my hard drives.

On a related note, a couple of my media players, such as the Core Media Player and Winamp 3 have been crashing as well.

I'm totally at a loss. Please help!

After the patch, I unset the compatability settings just to see if it made any difference. It works fine with no compatability set.

It's a message more commonly associated with runtime errors something that didn't happen quite quickly enough. How many times have you tried it? You may get a better class of System Restore from the Repair options on your W7 DVD which would be running outside the GUI.

Hello all! Been a while since I posted. I have a quick question (I hope).

I was browsing through my windows Firewall, and noticed that there are two listings of "dll32" in my exceptions list. They are associated with a TCP and UDP port respectively. I don't recall adding them, and I'm just concerned that they are part of something malicious. Does anyone else have those on their Windows Firewall Exception list? Should I remove them? Is it the sign of some infection?

A:DLL32 in Windows Firewall Exception List?

Is it the sign of some infection?I would say no but why don't you run a quick scan to be sureSome types of malware will disable Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and other security tools. If MBAM will not install, try renaming it first.Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file file and rename it to mysetup.exe.Double-click on mysetup.exe to start the installation. If that did not work, then try renaming and changing the file extension. click this link if you do not see the file extensionRight-click on the mbam-setup.exe file, rename it to mysetup and change the .exe extension to .scr, .com, .pif, or .bat.Then double-click on mysetup.scr (or whatever extension you renamed it) to begin installation. If after installation, MBAM will not run, open the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder in Program Files.Right-click on mbam.exe, rename it to myscan.exe.Double-click on myscan.exe to launch the program. If that did not work, then try renaming and change the .exe extension in the same way as noted above.Double-click on myscan.scr (or whatever extension you renamed it) to launch the program. If using Windows Vista, refer to How to Change a File Extension in Windows Vista.Be sure to update MBAM through the program's interface (preferable method) or manually download the definition updates and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. Then perform a Quick Scan in normal mode and check all items found for removal. Don't forgot to reboot afterwards. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mod... Read more

Hello Friends,

I am taking a leap of faith here by posting but I have a feeling you can help.

The problem:
Computer gave me the No Disk Exception Processing Message pop up warning window after Windows XP started. I did some research and it pointed to possibly being an issue fixed by HijackThis which then sugested I post here for help with my logs etc. Also about every other time now when I turn on my computer it does not make it to the XP login screen. Just goes to a black screen and holds... Nothing happens... I have to hit the restart button and then it asks if I want to load in safe mode. Anyway the computer definitely runs a bit slower these days. I have Zonealarm, and I run adaware and spybot. I use the free AVG virus scanner which did not find any viruses in a scan I just did.

Thanks in advance! I hope I posted this correctly, my appologies if I did not.

Secondary if you have time:
- I would love to stop msn messenger from starting up every time I turn on my computer. Any ideas on how?
- Any advice on speeding up my comp. I run defrag and run disk clean up all the time.
- How do I use hijack this to stop certain things from running correctly?
- Any advice is welcome. Thank you thank you thank you
