I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Didn't realize the laptop was unplugged and went completely dead sitting there for a month. Went to plug in to power up and nothing. Thought maybe cat chewed on charger cable and tested it and was only pulling 4v vs the 20v it's supposed to but tried new charger that Lenovo sent and still nothing. I've heard battery could be un-chargeable if left to completely die and sit for a while but still don't get why laptop won't boot up when plugged in.  Am I dealing with something else internal in addition to a dead battery?

Just got a Yoga 700-11ISK. It's great. Love it. Want to know how I can charge it from a power bank. The battery life is good-not-great. I know it needs 20v. If I snagged a 24v power bank and used the USB C cable,  would I get a charge? Anyone have alternate suggestions? I'll solder together something totally unsafe if need be.

A:Yoga 700 - How do I charge it from a power bank?

I am getting some info from the Lenovo team on the USB Type C port if it supports audio, video or whatever application however seems to be that the Type C is just another USB port for portable devices such as external HDD.There have been discussions about charging the laptop via Type C however I don't think you can as its only suppose to charge via the AC port. Don't fry the mobo mate.

I recently purchased a Zbook Studio for video editing, and am wondering how to charge it through a power bank.  I initially thought of using usb-c but then I read that you cannot charge through this port.  The battery life isn't too great on this computer, so when I go to take trips to Yosemite it only lasts a few hours of editing until I have to find a wall port somewhere.  I want to charge from a usb-3 power bank, and am wondering how to do this without a larger battery that has a wall power port.  Thanks!

Hi,  I?ve had my laptop for about 2 nearly 3 years now. About two days ago it stopped working for some reason. When I looked into it the WiFi adaptor (Intel Core i3) was for some reason disabled and despite having admin access, it would not  enable it successfully, even when I tried it just remained disabled and trouble shooter just states there is an issue with the WiFi adaptor and it cannot solve it.i have so far tried the network connections, troubleshooter and the device manager but both are not working. Is there a relatively simple solution that I?ve overlooked? I can remember it doing this before but I can?t remember how to turn it back on.

I have looked online for ideas on how to fix this but I seem to be drawing a blank so far. There is no driver showing in device manager at all so it's not even just an update thats needed.

Hope someone can help as my meeting tomorrow morning is really important.

Looking into buying the Lenovo Ideapad 510s, I see "Up to 8GB" listed as supported memory. However, I've done some research and some Lenovo laptops, while they also only support 8GB of memory officially, can be and have been safely upgraded to 16 GB of RAM. My question is: Is this true of the 510s? The CPU specifications page from Intel for the 6200U/6500U both say 16 GB is no problem, and Crucial even has a 16GB dimm listed as "guaranteed compatible" for this model--I'm not sure, though, if this means it will work but only recognize 8 GB or if 16 GB is truly Ok. Is there any reason 16 GB could not be used? Perhaps some motherboard memory controller limitation? I would love to have some input on this before deciding on whether or not to purchase this laptop. Thanks!

Wondering what RAM modules people have upgraded their Lenovo Ideapad 510s (80UV001BUS) with. Looks like it only has one slot and is only upgradeable to 16GB. What about speed and latency? Crucial has different speeds and latency listed. http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Lenovo/ideapad-510s-(14-inch) It has ones at 2133MHz, 2400MHz and 2666Mhz and latencies from 15, 16 and 17. Only a $14 difference between their cheapest 2133MHz and their most expensive 2666MHz. Newegg sells other modules at the 2666MHz speed that Crucial says is the max that seem compatible. Patriot Viper 16GB DDR4 2666 PV416G266C8S at CL18 and HyperX Impact 16GB DDR4 2666 HX426S15IB2/16 at CL15. The numbers make the HyperX look like the best for this laptop with it being $14 more than Crucial's fastest module. Newegg also has 2800MHz and 3000MHz offerings too. Does this chipset support those speeds? The 2800MHz being made by Patriot and the 3000MHz made by G.SKILL. The latency on the G.SKILL module is CL16, so pretty good but considerably more expensive. $27 more than Crucial's fastest and $13 more than HyperX's fastest and its on sale right now (retails at $180.99). Whats the fastest RAM the Intel HM170 chipset can support and will this laptop allow it? Intel shows that the i7-7500U supports up to 32GB memory size and DDR4-2133, LPDDR3-1866, DDR3L-1600 memory types, yet Crucial says it can support 2666MHz, feeling confused. My main goal is to p... Hi! This is my first post and fist Lenovo laptop too. I've owned this laptop (ideapad 510s) for about a month, and it's great! But I have 1 concern about it. When I put the laptop in sleep mode, all USB ports are still delivering and powering my attached devices (a mouse and a laptop fan cooler base) and I have searched on Google and tried many things but I haven't been able to turn off the ports while the laptop is on sleep. My mouse has LED lights on the top, and the classic red light on the bottom that it uses to work. When I put my laptop on sleep, the LED lights turns off, but the red light on the bottom never turns off. My cooler base will never turn off either, I have to unplug both of them so they won't discharge the battery while sleeping. I know this laptop has an always on USB port that I can use to charge devices, but none of my devices is plugged in that port, so that is not the cause. I've disabled the usb always on option in BIOS settings, disabled it in the Lenovo Settings app, enabled USB Selective Suspend in power options, disabled "Allow this device to wake the computer" in the mouse driver settings in Device Manager, tried to change the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the same driver settings, but it's grayer out (and disabled, no check mark on it) so I can't change it. I don't know what other option could be the cause of this behavoir, and I guess it isn't normal in the ports because they aren't using the ... I am experiencing strange mouse pointer behaviour after my laptop has been running for a while and a program is working in the background. The mouse pointer is displayed in a very low resolution, while jumping up to another part of the screen. So usually, the mouse cursor looks like this:  But when the problem occurs, it looks like this (and jumps up to another part of the screen):  As mentioned, the problem only occurs after my laptop has been running for a while (this may take a day, but sometimes only an hour) but when it does, it keeps occuring untill I restart. This has been happening since I bought the system about two months ago. System: Lenovo ideapad 510S14ISKOperating system: Windows 10 I already tried:- updating my drivers (using Lenovo Companion)- reinstalling windows (while keeping my files)- uninstalling Lenovo System Interface Foundation as recommended here- unchecking the box "enhance pointer precision", also as recommended here The problem occurs both with my external mouse plugged in and plugged off. Any ideas what might be causing this problem?

A:Strange mouse pointer behaviour when working in background - Lenovo Ideapad 510S 14ISK

Maybe related to this issue, maybe not: I also noticed a strange resolution in a few other places. For example, in the image below you can see that the text in the left box is displayed much sharper than that in the right box.  This occurs also after my laptop has just restarted and is of course much less anoying. Nonetheless, I thought it would be interesting to mention as the two issues might be related.

Till now everything was working great, but now I am expriencing weird issue with sound played back through speaker.  When I play any sound (music or video file) through speaker, sometimes everything is fine, but very often sound is muted for 6 second in the begining and then it plays normally. When I connect headphones, I do not experience any issue.Anybody who experienced similar problems? I tried to uninstall audio driver, install it again, update driver, etc... Nothing helped.

Anyone have any suggestions for a power bank to use with the C930? This is the one I was taking a look at on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Power-Delivery-Charger-20000-Output/dp/B078RTGL35/ref=sr_1_3?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qi... The power bank is 45W. I've had my Ideapad y510p for about 2 years and recently the charger stopped working.  At first it just needed to be re-plugged in, then it needed to be plugged it at weird angles and held up to charge, then it had to be in the exact right position, with no motion.  Then it just stopped charging.   From what I've read it sounds like this may be a problem with the port, not the charger, but I've tried using a charger that fits my computer but isn't the right voltage/wattage (or w/e) and it will charge for a time, then stop, then continue to charge if I plug it into a new socket. I tested it by taking out the battery and turning it on: with the inappropriate charger, it'll still work, with the old charger, it won't turn on.   As far as I can tell, there's no physical damage to the charger, though it's possible it might have been dropped or mishandled when traveling with it.  I know for a fact I've dropped my computer several times, but I've never had charging problems immediate after, and all those instances were a good while back.   So is it more likely that my computer is the problem, or just the charger?  I still have the warranty on my laptop; if that's the problem, can I get it fixed?

Hello Everyone, I am considering the purchase of a specific power bank for my L540 laptop. The product is the Vinsic 30000mah. I can't seem to get clarification on whether my Lenovo laptop will successfully hook up with the PB and take the charge. As far as I can tell, the PB has a lot of muscle and is well-recommended. The PB comes with 8 adaptors; for Lenovo products it lists a  7.9*10 mm adaptor. It says it has 3 output ports: 1 DC output up to 19V 3.5A, with a max output current of 4.5A; and 2 Smart USB outputs, with output up to 5V 2.4A.  It also says it has 2 Input ports: 1 DC input and 1 Micro USB input. I am uncertain if the specs on my L540 make it compatible with the features listed shown above. Can someone with expertise advise me if I'm Ok to go ahead with the purchase based on the features? Many thanks!

I bought this laptop (Ideapad 100s-14IBR) about 2 weeks ago. First I fully restore Windows 10 to start fresh but after a while I notice that when I charge my laptop, it will stop at 80%. It will not charge to 100%. I looked up on the internet and many suggest that it has something to do with the energy management setup. Suppose it  there are two option 1. fully use the battery 2. optimise the battery life. I search everywhere in my c:\ and I cannot find the "energy management" software. Others suggested that the battery is dying....but I just bought this laptop...how can that be? Please help....

A:Lenovo Ideapad 100s 14 inch won't fully charge on ...

Hi Luciu,

Welcome to the Lenovo community!

System Tray > Lenovo Energy Management > Go to Settings > Turn OFF Conservation Mode > Remove AC adapter > Reinstall AC adapter > It should charge up to 100%.

Also, please do check that under the battery menu in Lenovo energy management, IT IS SET TO 'MAXIMUM BATTERY LIFE' to enable charging to 100%, not Optimised battery health as this will allow your battery to have a longer lifespan.

When i clicked on the battery, and selected "More Power Options," then clicked "change power plan settings" and then I went to "advanced power settings." There is a tab there for Lenovo Energy Management and you have to click "Enable Lenovo Energy Management." Then it pops up.

Let us know how you get on.

Regards,
Shashi

I.I have an lenovo y50-70 that i like very much. The only problem i have with it, is that if i play forex gta v, or doing other things that makes the computer work hard, the power button starts to flash and it is stopping to charge. It happens all from about 5min to 30min after i have started to play. If i pull the plug and put in in again, it does not flash anymore, and i can play for a while before it starts to do that again. Noticed that the plug i put into the computer to charge it, gets very warm. This problem does not come if i just use the computer for surfing on the internet, watching netflix or similar, only if the computer has to work hard. Is it the charger that can't deliver enough power to charge it or what could my problem be?What does the power button flash mean? Thanks!
