I have been trying on and off to install Kies 3 software to be able to sync my phone and save my info. During installation, the setup crashes and displays the error message, Failed to load DLL:MSSetupAddinDll

Did an online chat with Samsung techs where they tried to remotely install it and when it did the same thing to them, they bailed and left me hanging with a customer satisfaction survey. LOL.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I've posted this same topic in the networking forum but I think this subforum might be better. Mods can delete the other one.

Yesterday I read about a new firmware update for my Samsung Galaxy S3, and I decided to install Kies on my laptop so I could get it (for many Galaxy S3 users in the Netherlands that day, Over The Air updates didn't work).

First I tried the browser version of Kies, saw nothing about updates so I downloaded and installed Samsung Kies, but that didn't work either. I watched a help video inside the program which was run with Java (I had to install that too, yet I believed I already had it, but I clicked ok anyway)

I didn't have my USB cable with me to connect my phone to the program and it didn't work via wireless either. So I uninstalled it and tried Kies Mini, that didn't work either so I uninstalled that one too, and then had to reboot.

Wanting to resume my work on a website, I wanted to see how it looked in Chrome, Firefox and IE but noticed NONE of them start up. The process starts and stops in half a second.

Here's a list of things I tried:

1. System Restore up to the point of AFTER installing Samsung Kies (unfortunately I couldn't go back any further)
2. Uninstalled Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Kies, Kies Mini and Java.
3. Reinstalled Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Kies, Kies Mini and Java.
3. Ran Spybot Search and Destroy, found nothing big, no trojans or anything.
4. Deleted as many mentions of the keywords Chrome, Firefox and Kies in... Read more

A:Chrome, Firefox, IE won't start after trying Samsung Kies and Kies Mini. Opera will

Because of forum rules we are not allowed to Analise Hijack this logs. Have you tried Revo Uninstaller? Also look into the add-on and exstentions in Firefox and Chrome to see if Kies still installed. If so disable them. Or try Firefox and Chrome in safe mode.

Hello David,

It shows Kies 3 as compatible with Windows 8**, so it should work if you don't have that version.

Read other 4 answers

Windows8 gives the following problem on start up ......well what's new?

after a short while a Windows warning shield advises "Server Busy" with the following useless information, This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose switch to activate the busy program and correct the problem.

Poor fool me did as the warning shield asked only to be confronted by that magnificently designed Windows start menu that I paid $5 AUD to get rid of and of course there was no program running.

A quick look at task manager showed something interesting. Somehow Samsung Kies had started a tray icon program without being requested to and which does not show up in the tray icon customisation area either which is making some kind of system call. If you end the task the problem goes away, at least for the present.

There have been three updates on the computer that may be responsible one by Microsoft for a driver, one by Nvidia graphics and the final one by Sun Microsystems for java. The problem has only presented itself since these updates and as they were all done in the one session it is not possible for a mere mortal such as myself to pinpoint the exact piece of wizardry responsible.

For those responsible I have taken a few screen shots so they can sit there and laugh and say we gotcha! and for their entertainment are attached.

Anyone in Wizard class is invited to advise me how to get rid of this pain with the least work possible.

This may not be the answer you're looking for but here's what I did; In the first place, I found Kies to be one of the most screwed up pieces of bloatware I've tried, so, as soon as Kies installed the device recognition drivers, I uninstalled Kies and manage my stuff myself. That's about it!

You should be able to install it this way :-

This allowed me to install Kies on Windows 10:
Windows key + X key
Command Prompt (Admin)
Shift + right click on program (e.g. Kies) do this in File Explorer
Copy as path
Paste in Command Prompt just right-clicking in the cmd window did the Paste for me
Hit Enter
Text in Italics added by me.

I hope this makes your Christmas Merrier.

I use to have Kies on my previous pc but it 'died' on me. As the pc was totally dead I couldn't even search for assistance from TSG or any other like you.
So I took it to 'Curries PC world' expecting to shell out to them to fix it, honestly I was quite willing to pay to get back online. Like so many things we attach our selves to, we don't miss it until it's gone. I was gutted to be told there isn't a damn thing that can be done to retrieve the info, personal stuff like addresses, phone numbers and a whole stack of info. The other thing was, when at one point I downloaded Kies, I couldn't make either of my mobiles to connect. What on earth am I doing wrong
Regarding the above, I would really like to hear from anyone who can furnish me with some advice, like if it is possible to remove a hard disk or what ever. I have a new lap top now so it's only the info, not to use it.

The above leads me onto another problem. I had Samsung Kies installed on my old machine, now though I am trying to install it again, I really do need it for photographic records. The snag is, for the life of me I can't recall who I used before,(that last sentence makes no sense does it), but I'm having problems and had to scan twice, to remove, do they call it 'Malware', something that my internet security found, quarantined and advised me that it wasn't good.

So I would be eternally grateful if first, you can advise me what is caus... Read more

Hi there.

I just recently fixed a blue screen with system_service_exception and bad_pool_header by doing some major updating with Windows Update.

Although all my drivers are up to date, I now get this.

Minidump files can be found here.

Additional information:

The blue screen happened right after I started up Kies to upload some photos.

These blue screens have been happening for some time now, perhaps three days. I tried everything from sfc/scannow to a system startup repair back with the system service exception problem before realizing I only had to let Windows Update do its job. (Last updates had been done on 6.6.2012)

What can I do now? Where does this problem even arise from?

Please post the Minidump files into the forum .

Recently I purchased a samsung galaxy sII, and I am attempting to connect it to my computer using Samsung Kies, and it is continuously failing to install the MTP driver, and I think this has something to do with the fact that windows update won't offer me any updates whatsoever, or even search for updates. And I think this is the process used for adding drivers?

I haven't posted on a forum for a long time, so if I left anything out feel free to abuse, i mean ask nicely for the information to help me.

HD controller error. Please run a chkdsk as per below.

Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.

Do this for each hard drive on your system.

When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter.

Then reboot and let the test run.

It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors.

See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.
B- Elevated Command Prompt:

Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)

At the top of the Search Box, right click on Cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator"

Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter

Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.

Double click on the Source column header.

Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry (wininit for Win7) (winlogon for XP).

Copy/paste the results into your next post.

I recently found that my Win 7 PC was only running Microsofts own default VGA video drivers.
My video is SiS760 on board so I downloaded the only drivers I could find but they were for XP.
On installing I found that whilst everything else seemed as good or better than before when booting Samsung Kies (Samsung Galaxy support software) that the program gave a mixture of readable, distorted and broken display.
If I reinstalled Kies there was no change and the problem was still there. It only went when I reverted to Windows generic video drivers.
Can anyone tell me if there is a correct Win 7 driver for the on-board SiS760 graphics device anywhere as I have hunted and cannot find one.
I have also found that using the generic driver the (atrocious) Windows media player 12 does not allow me to change the brightness/contrast/speed options which I was also hoping would be cured by the correct driver.
As this PC came to me as a 'dumper' when the previous owner screwed up a Windows 7 install I'm not sure if it ever had anything other than the default windows drivers for video.
I don't need a mega fast video card as this PC simply controls and reads data from workbench test gear so I'm not going shell out dosh to stick another card in but it would be nice to have full use of WWP12 as it's apparently not possible to downgrade to WMP11.

Thanks in advance for any help.

A:sis760 video + Windows 7 + Samsung Kies problem

You are not going to find a Windows 7 driver for this graphics chipset.
The last release SiS made for that chipset was for 32-bit XP, which meant the laptop you have originally had 32-bit XP on it, and someone tried a Windows 7 upgrade to it (as you said).

If you want full use of the card, reinstall Windows XP on it. That's the only option i'm afraid.

Well, as many of you know, I've been trying to install Vista. I have 2 problems I cant solve.

1.) When installing via ISO image w/ Daemon tools, I get an error saying I need at least 452MB in any partition. WTF?! I tried with a 120GB partition, both unallocated, and formatted NTFS. How can I get around this? My friend did the same and had no problems.

2.) When installing via CD, I get asked for CD/DVD drivers. I found them, BUT Vista installer doesnt read the .zip, .exe, or the .bin extracted from the .exe file. Nothing seems to be working, and I know these are the right drivers. Help? My drive is GSA-H20L I got the drivers off the LG website. Vista install asks for a folder too, and i tried putting all 3 of the file formats in a folder. Still, nothing.

And yes. My PC is fully capable of Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

Hello, first I want to thank Brink for his helpful tutorial. I have recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975, which was a cheap but perfectly sufficient laptop for my purposes. I would like to set up a dual boot with the Windows 7 that came pre-installed on it and a (completely legal) copy of Windows XP that I just purchased on ebay. Upon following method two outlined by Brink, partitioning my hard drive via the Windows 7 disk manager was no problem, but as soon as I tried to install Windows XP I ran into a problem.

My computer crashed before the installation even began, giving me a blue screen of death with a "Stop 0x0000007B" error. I Googled this to find out what it meant and soon learned that I was facing a very common problem with SATA driver incompatibility. From what I gathered by reading some help threads, it seems that I need to download some kind of SATA driver that is compatible with my particular computer and then either 1) use a program called nLite to make a "slipstream" CD that has the needed driver as well as the Windows XP installation on it, or 2) copy the driver files to an old floppy disk and use a usb-connected floppy drive that is recognized by my system as an A: drive to install the driver by pressing F6 at the beginning of the Windows XP install setup.

OK, seems simple enough. I could go either route. To my good fortune I even have such an external floppy drive as well as blank floppy disks that have been sitting in my c... Read more

Welcome to sevenforums.
Sounds like you need to go into your device manager in win 7 and find the name of your graphics card and your network adapter. Go to the manufactures web site and find xp drivers download to 7. Then go to your xp and copy them from your 7 partition and install them in XP. This is a usual problem in an xp install. If Seven is working good for you and xp only has two missing drivers then you are doing good. I would stick with what you have going and see if you can fix it. Good luck to you.

Hello rosefox911, welcome to Seven Forums!

First: If the Windows 7 install disk is one you burned yourself it may be a bad burn and needs to be done again, if so this would be the first thing to try.

Use the free ISO burner at the link below to burn another at a speed of now more than 4x and select to let the program to verify the disk before it finishes.

ImgBurn Free ISO Burning Software

Second: After you have made backups of everything you care to save and you want to do a real wipe "secure erase" to the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) have a look at this tutorial at the link below, it over-writes everything, all the old Windows code including all the old Windows drivers, giving you the best possible space to install Windows 7 to; it goes hand-in-hand with a clean install.

Hello everyone.
I've got one hell of an annoying problem. First off its taking me HOURS to install windows xp. But ill begin from the start.

I have a computer running windows 2k. Just the other day it had some memory dump error .Once it finished and i restarted, an error about a missing file that is needed to startup windows 2k is missing. Seeing as i dont have a windows 2k CD, and that this has happend before and cost me around $50 to fix at a shop, i decided why not just get windows xp and fix the problem once and for all.

The computers specs are 900mhz, 256 Ram, 2gigs of free space, and a 64mb video card. That meets the minimum.

So i get home and pop in the CD , it loads at the start and begins the setup process( First Part). Now heres when things start going straight to hell.

That first part of setup takes about 18 Hrs more or less to complete. When it finally does finish, it goes onto the second part of installation after a reboot. Thats taken a few hours as well AND has yet to finish. I know somethings wrong here. Shouldnt even take more than an hour right? It even states the estimated time to completion is 39 minutes. Its now at 19 minutes which took 6 hours to get to. So what could be wrong?

The lab in which I'm an intern recently got two new custom-made PCs. Here are the (what I think is relevant) specs:

CPU: Wolfdale E6500 2.93GHz
Motherboard: MSI G41M-S01
RAM: 4GB PC3-8500
HDD: Seagate 500GB SATA2 7200RPM
GPU: GMA X4500

Now, as I try to install Windows 7 Enterprise, courtesy of my school, it simply won't install. At the screen where I pick the partition to install it in, I keep getting an error, saying "The computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu." This is on an untouched, straight out of the factory, hard drive.

The funny thing is, I downloaded a copy of the latest build of Ubuntu, and that installed completely fine without any issues.

Does anyone have any clue as to what might be going on?

Hey guys, i'm not sure where this should go i decided to post it here, pardon me if it is the at the wrong place. =x

I have an issue with my system since the start when i bought my computer. It seems as though i can't install certain files. Concerns me to not be able to install games on this computer. Occasionally, there are games that require me to "open with" something once i click install when running the installer. Since i have nothing to "open with" with, i am hence unable to install.

I'm currently running a vista 64bit, i have a feeling the issue has something to do with it. I tried repairing it and all, doesn't seem to have an issue.

Would be nice to resolve this issue. Thanks guys.

After installing the OS, I load all of my development code on the first partition of the second drive and I install all of my development apps on the second partition (ex. Visual Studio & MSDN Library). All the apps install correctly but after working for a while in Windows 7 all of a sudden the partition that I install all my apps on is now unformatted RAW. It has happened twice now. I do not want to reinstall Windows 7 until I can figure out what it is doing and how I can stop it from wiping out my partition.

Welcome cvarga!

That is very strange. What brand is the hard drive your are putting your apps on? Have you tried updating your hard drive and controller drivers?

Hi guys,

I had XP a little while ago, and decided I wanted to learn Linux. The plan was to have a dual boot set up. Unfortunately, I misread/misunderstood something (i forget which) and I formatted and installed Linux by mistake. No big deal (i thought), I'll just whack XP pro back in, Re-install and do it again. However, the XP setup reckons it can't find my hard drive.

Linux works fine though, I'm using it now, and running XP in VirtualBox when I need it. I would however prefer to do it the other way around, and run Linux in VirtualBox, within XP.

Any ideas of how to get the XP Setup to recognise my hard drive?

The hard drive is being recognized in the BIOS right?

Windows doesn't see the hard drive at all? Have you tried unplugging the hard drive and then plugging it back in? It's odd that Linux runs fine, but Windows fails to see the hard drive.

Hi everybody, I really wud appreciate sum help.

My computer has crashed (Sony Vaio wit Vista 32bit) and I don't have any recovery CDs and the recovery partition is damaged and doesn't work at all.

The computer cannot boot past the BIOS and any options chosen (i.e. safe mode etc.) in the BIOS cause the computer to turn off.

So Im looking to format the HDD and reload the OS onto it, but obviously I do not have the recovery disks to do this.

However I do have a copy of all the files that were on the recovery partition in a folder on another computer. I was wondering if there was any way I cud turn these files into a bootable recovery CD. And how wud I do it step by step?

I have attached a screenshot of the files that I have that were previously on the recovery partition. Do I need some new file for boot purposes?

Thanks for any help.

Hi there

I'm having a few issues installing Windows 7 pro onto an old work computer. the device currently has windows 7 pro installed but I don't know the password to the account on there and besides that I cannot log into the domain as it is at work. I've been trying to install windows 7 from an ico file on a USB drive (fat32 formatted) but everytime I try I get invalid partition table. I have tried to use the MS media creation tool however it does not seem to install or work correctly on my other pc. I also get a temperature sensor error on my hard drive but I think this is because it's not really connected properly as i don't have a caddy, but it still work's so I don't think it matters

We don't provide help here with bypassing or circumventing a password-protected computer because we have no way to verify ownership or intent for accessing it.

If that computer is still at its work location, why can't its user log into it?

I have installed a new WD200 SATA drive and everything until the XP Pro setup has worked fine. The BIOS is recognizing the harddrive and the WD diagnostic tool is not finding any errors. When I boot to the XP CD, it loads the setup no problem, but then tells me that it cannot find the harddrive. Not sure what I am doing wrong at this point. Thanks for any help.

A:XP Pro Installation Issues

Your motherboard should have come with a floppy containg the SATA drivers.

When you boot to the XP CD, look for a message at the bottom that says "Press F6 to install Third Party Drivers" (or very close to that). Press F6, insert the floppy, and XP will load the SATA drivers so it can see your new drive.

I downloaded the windows xp 64 bit trial and burned it to a cd. I was just going to go buy a copy of xp pro, but a friend recommended I try out the 64 bit edition since the system that I recently built can actually take advantage of it. Also Iím a little light on cash now, and I figure this will save me the 200$ at least temporarily. So according to what I read, the setup should boot on its own from the cd, so I went into my BIOS and changed the boot order to boot from the cd before the hard drive, except it still wont load setup. To make matters worse, I read thereís no way to initiate the setup through the command line, so I cant just use a 98 startup disk and do it that way.

I actually burned 2 cdís at the time to be safe, and verified they both function on the computer Iím currently using. This is a completely fresh install as well, there hasnít been an OS installed on the hdd ever. The computer is detecting the hdd and the cd/dvd, so I donít think that is the problem. Not sure if it matters or not, the hard drive is a SATA drive, and the cd/dvd is just a generic cd/dvd. The error Iím getting is something along the lines of Nvidia boot agent starts, then fails, then I get an error thatís something along the lines of *Please insert system disk and press any key*. It appears to be trying to boot from the cd, I can hear the drive spinning, then it fails.

Im not completely illiterate when it comes to computers, but this is my first time building my own system and d... Read more

Hey, download and install EasyBCD.

Once you have done that:

- Open it up
- Click Add/Remove Entries(in the "EasyBCD toolbox" list of buttons)
- Under "Add an Entry:" click the windows tab(if not already selected)
- Fill out the options as so:
Type: Windows Vista/Longhorn
Name: [The name you want to come up when booting]
Drive: [The drive/partition you have vista installed on]
- Click Add Entry
Alternatively (still in EasyBCD) you could re-install the vista bootloader (self explanatory under "Manage Bootloader"), but you'd have to also go through the steps above for XP.

Ok, i downloaded the trial iso and burned it to a cd per the instructions on microsoft website. A friend of mine recomended i try it out because the system i recently build can actually take advantage of it. The issue is the setup will not boot from the CD, i went into the BIOS and changed the boot order to boot the cd/dvd prior to the floppy or the hdd. Even with this set correctly i still get the *Disk boot error please insert system disk* error. I made a win98 startup cd, and i am able to see the cd when exploring through dos, so i know the cd/dvd is functioning. Unfortuntely i cant just run setup.exe from here, as i get the error * This cannot be done in DOS* Which i knew, the only way to install 64 bit windows is through a cd boot. The only thing i can think of is my cd/dvd does not support booting from itself, but i see that as being unlikely because its an entirely new system i built, so all the parts are pretty recent. Any help you guys could give me would be appreciated.

I'm having the same installation issue just like many others I found here on the sevenforums, and on the net. I think you're all tired of reading this problem over and over again, but here's the thing:
I want to make a clean install, I have XP right now. So, I put the win7 dvd in, and then the computer boots up. Everything seems fine, the installer copies the necessary files to begin the real install. The nice, blue wallpaper shows up, like the mouse pointer as well. Aaand, that's it. Nothing really happens, no HDD work, the dvd drive does nothing. At this point, I have to wait at least 20 minutes and the language selection screen shows up. After it I also have to wait a lot between every steps. When the real install finally begins the installer stucks at 0% for hours and so on, and nothing happens. I tried to re-put (I don't know if it's the right expression) the dvd, but still nothing.
The same goes to Windows Vista.
Other important facts:
The installer works flawless if I run it from XP, that's how I had installed succesfully the win7 beta earlier as a secondary OS (it's ok, I could upgrade my OS [I guess..], but as I said, I want a clean install).
I got this computer a half year ago and it works good. This is the only problem with it.
Of course I'm not posting without trying to find the solution, so here's the complete list I tried to make things work:
-updated BIOS
-disabled the legacy diskette
-checked all the cables in the computer and the memories as well
-update... Read more

Ok, I have a 5 year old Alienware Aurora 7500. It has the It is deked out in this fashion.
AMD 2.8 GHz 5600+
Foxconn 590 SLI mobo
8 gigs of GSkill ram
Western Digital 500 GB HD (which I am trying to install onto)
EVGA 550Ti 1GB video card.

My issue is as follows. I have tried to install the Win 8 Pro upgrade from a USB stick from within Win 7 and from just booting from the USB stick itself. What I am seeing are graphical glitches. I thought maybe it was the video card doing it, but I have since tried a 6600 GT and an 8800GT. I am at a loss on how to fix this. Anyway. I am able to do the install, however after it is done getting the devices ready, it reboots and I no longer have any kind of display. I am at a loss. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Thank you very much.
