Q: what kind of cards are compatible with a 6-in-1 memory card ...

I have a HP Pavilion p6-2220t, Product number: B3F79AV#ABA with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1. It is four years old. It has a 6-in-1 memory card reader. I have never used it and want to now. I have tried and tried but I cannot find out what kind of cards are compatable. Does anyone here know? Or do you know where I can get this information? Thank you in advance.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I plan to purchase a CANON S5IS digital camera, and someone recommended that I use SDHC memory cards. I recently bought a Digital Concepts 21-in-1 Card Reader/Writer; however, I don't see the SDHC designation shown on the package. The only SD cards listed are: SD; SD-Ultra; SDC; and Mini SD. Will this reader read an SDHC card as well? Thank you.

Nowhere in the documentation, web site is any info about what kind of controller and hence what size SD cards this model is supporting.Even Lenovo tech support doesn't know that info!I am really hesitant to buy a SDXC card of +32GB only to find out it supports on SDHC cards, thus limited to 32GB... thanks for any useful info, Ralf

A:What kind of SD card controller is in a Lenovo IdeaPad 120S-11AIP? SDHC or SDXC compatible?

Hi ITWorxLA,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
As per system overview :
IO port: Memory card slot (SD/SDHC/SDXC/MMC)
Platform specification:
One microSD Card slot, supports up to 2TB
Usually there would be stickers on the box or laptop to indicate the format it also supports.
You can try to find/borrow  a spare 32GB SDXC to test first before purchase.
Hope this helps answer your query.

Odd that it has 4 places for wireless peripheral labels on the bottom, but only 3 slots for them.
It's another freebie Dell, this one with a broken power jack. Just ordered the power/USB board off everyone's favorite auction site.

It looks like usb wireless adapters suffer from disconnection and break downs along the way (got this from reading reviews on amazon)
Can anyone recommend a few new AC wireless cards compatible with this desktop? (head about the Intel 7260 but I dont know if there are newer ones).

Hi ,
Just wondering, is it my luck? that is the fourth flash memory SD card I try for first use and it gives me memory card error right after inserting it , I used to devices for reading: card reader in my HP officejet printer and Canonpowershot camera.
Cards are:
Patriot signature class 4 4gb
Kingston class 4 8gb
Kingstion micro sd with adapter
last one today Transcend class 10 8gb
I have a old kingston 2 Gb still working fine in the camera and in the HP printer.
I tried all the recovery software I could find to try to format it but the cards are not recognized.
I insert the cards unlocked for first use to format them at first but I can't reach this stage since I have memory card error right away.
I don't know what to do, I find it ridiculous to continue buying cards that won't work.
Any suggestions, ideas would be appreciated.

I have one of those add-in card multi-card readers that fits into a floppy drive bay and plugs directly to a terminal on the main board. I think it might be a Rosewill brand I got from Newegg.

If I go through the disconnect procedure to remove the card and want to reinsert any card later, I must reboot the computer before the card is recognized. Going into System and telling it to scan for hardware changes does no good, neither does View> Refresh in My Computer.

Any suggestions for a solution would be appreciated.

now I'M confused if I have always been doing this wrong.
I have always had multicard readers on my HP printers.

I use SD cards for the most part.

when I insert a card the "card present" light comes on--
when I'm done with the card--I just pull it out and put it back in to what
ever device I have it in.

there doesnt seem to be any errors or problems doing it this way.

I thought the only precaution you had to take was-- turn off the camera if
that's what you had the card in--before removing the card and make sure the
camera is turned off when you put the card back into the camera

but this is more protection for the camera then the card--

are you disabling the whole card reader when you use the disconnect hardware feature
to unplug a card

Hi. I got a 2-3 year old Lenovo Yoga 500-14ACL laptop, Machine Type Model: 80NA002MMX, with the newest BIOS firmware from Lenovo, in which I got a Linux distro installed to a partition.  My only problem is, the WiFi does not work, as there are no drivers available for this card on Linux systems. I tried as a last resort to use a program called "ndiswrapper" to install the windows driver in my Linux distro with the help from Linux professionals, sadly it did not work. Now my only chance is to purchase a new WiFi card compatible with Linux distros (not a USB WiFi plug), so my question is, where is that "whitelist" which Lenovo has implemented into the BIOS online? I have searched online, but I cannot find a list containing compatible cards. I see many users has purchased cards previously without being aware that Lenovo reject certain cards, and that is exactly what many users report, the card is rejected by the BIOS, and the users are left with a card they can not use. Before I order a new WiFi card, I want to make sure the card I order is compatible in my laptop. I came from the store I bought the pc today, and the techicians there were very surpised that Lenovo in fact had such a list in their BIOS, and they were not aware about it until I informed them. They told me that all they could do is to contact Lenovo directly by mail, so they recommended I did that myself, in which this forum post is all about. What WiFi cards are in the BIOS'... Hey Guys (and Gals, if any)...

I have upgraded my Vista Ultimate Aspire 9810 to Win 7 Ultimate(32). Everything is fine, so far, except for the 5-in-1 Memory card reader. It only reads up to 2GB. I cannot remember, when I had Vista Ultimate on it, if it read beyond 2GB.

Any ideas!?!?!!

Are there any updated drivers that support beyond 2GB on this Aspire? I hate to add a reader via USB for that only and wastes a port.

Hi everybody, got some troubles

Which part of the memory specifications defines where abouts the slot is on the actual memory module is?

My motherboard is a GA-7S741M

Just wondering if someone can help me. My son works at a place that sells tires and the office got new computers so some of the employees got to take the old ones or parts of \old ones, he just grabbed a motherboard that had some stuiff on and saved it for me cause he knows I know a little about them and like to do stuff with them, anyway,

Don't know about this so I am asking.
on the motherboard there was some RAM I took that out and the only other thing was a couple of cards. One is a graphices card it was in the AGP slot and has the plugin for the monitor etc. Now here is where I am lost.

right next to that card was another one about the same size but has no plug in in it like for the monitor or sound or modem, nothing. however, the graphics card in the AGP slot was hooked to it with an ide cable. A small ide cable like you see on a floppy sometimes anyway the ide cable went from the AGP card to the PCI card. like I said the pci card has no outside plugs on it. Is it just an extention of the APG graphics card? do they hook together like that to give the first card more MB or am I way off here? I have never saw this before, it interrest me and I would really like to know what the deal is. If someone could help that would be great.

The first card had on it the AGP one said 1997 STB Systems, Inc and had numbers like T06031WZ and then 1X0-0820-305

and the PCI card had also the STB Systems, Inc and then 210-0307-001 and said 1998 LP3-t2

Hello all,
After sitting in storage for almost 10 years, my dad has recently dug out my Dell Dimension 4400, my first ever personal computer, which has been sitting in storage since about March/April 2008. I decided to do my own work on it, like swapping out the 20GB HDD with a 250GB HDD, added in a 10/100/1000Mbit Ethernet card, and expanded the RAM from 128MB to 2GB.
Within the last couple of weeks, I've ran into issues. I managed to break the tab that keeps the securing lever down, and broke a tab that keeps the AGP video card secured. It's so bad that I have to make sure to plug in the VGA cord into the PNY GeForce FX 5200 before closing the case, otherwise I risk dislodging the card from its AGP 4x socket.
I thought I had some screws used for securing expansion cards to the back plate, but they didn't fit. Is there any information as to what screws are compatible with securing expansion cards to the backplate?

I've just found a bargain of a XFX 8800GTX XXX and the question I have is whether it's compatible with a BFG 8800GTX OC2 in SLi mode?

The XFX card has a central clock of ~4mhz more than the BFG, but I suppose that either downclocking the XFX or overclocking the BFG should solve the problem with different clocks. The rest is the same.

Well, what do you people think?
If you help me out with this I'll become more active in the forum again

A:Are these cards compatible in SLi?

Hard to say, but I'd expect they wouldn't be compatible in SLI.

Nvidia says that as long as the actual GPU chip is the same model and revision, and the memory is the same, then they should be compatible. However many people have stated that combining different manufacturers cards, regardless of specs, just doesn't jive.

IMO - Unless the cards are 100% identical, you're not guaranteed that it will work.

I'm sure that's not what you really wanted to hear, but it is what it is, I guess. Bottom line, they may work, but don't count on it.

I'm looking into buying a "Rosewill Silicon Image RC-209-EX PCI External e-SATA x2/ Internal SATA x4 1.5G HDD Controller Card" and maybe im just losing it from staying up all night hardware shopping but the pci connector looked odd to me. Researching it I see that it is a Universal pci card, for 2.3 pci, compatible with 33mhz or 66 mhz.

Now my mobo has only 2.2 pci's but as i understand it 2.3 universal cards are backwards compatible with 2.2 slots, and since the card has 33mhz and 66mhz functionality, the only concern would be its voltage, which i do not know, but which seems from my research to be fine either way since 2.2 supports 3.3volts which is what 2.3 pci's are.

just wanted to double check before i shelled out the cash, that this card would probabliy work in my system.

well i just bought it, will let you know how it works

A:PCI 2.2 compatible with PCI 2.3 cards?

Yes, I would expect it to work.

Is there a list somewhere of NIC's that are compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit since it looks like I'll need to buy a new one.

Hello! My computer recently took a dive beyond my ability to repair myself. I just purchased a new tower from ebay to replace it, this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290753930263?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I know its nothing fancy and I don't care much to hear "oh you should have just spent 700 dollars on this computer or that computer because the one you bought is junk" that seems to be the response I've gotten from people on other websites after asking this question. I have an Asus republic of gamers laptop that I use for my real system intensive games, all I really want to be able to run nice on this new desktop is WoW and similar games, maybe left 4 dead and bioshock, that type of thing.

Anyhow - My original plan with this "new" desktop was to take my 4 gigs of ram (2 2gb sticks) and my video card ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161252 ) out of my now broken pc and simply put them into the "new" desktop. But I am looking at the pictures of the inside of tower (on the ebay page i linked above) and it seems to me that I will not be able to fit my card into the PCIe slot, It appears in the picture that the case fan is going to be in the way of the fan assembly on the video card. Would it maybe be an option to relocate the case fan a little bit just to get it out of the way of my video card? Or am I going to have to fork out money for a new skinnier video card? Can one hurt the other? Thanks in advance for the help.

A:Are old monitors compatible with new video cards?

The only thing I see that would be a problem with an older monitor is that you may have trouble finding the right driver for the monitor and and older monitor doesn't have as many hours left as a new one.

Hello, I have a p7-1234 with an upgraded power supply running an AMD r7-250 2gb GPU. I would like to know what the most powerful, best card that I can use with this older computer. Thank you for your help!

A:Looking for a list of compatible Graphics cards

Coolartcaleb, welcome to the forum. HP doesn't have a list of video cards that are compatible with their computers.  However, newer cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  There is no way to upgrade the the BIOS to UEFI. The last video cards that didn't require UEFI are the GT 640's.  Your best option is to choose a manufacturer and contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your computer. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Am I right in presuming that a 7800GTX 256mb card could not be SLI'd to an 8800 Ultra?

Are only other 8 series cards compatible with an 8800? Are there other restrictions that apply?

Thanks guys!

A:What cards are compatible with 8800 Ultra (SLI)?

SLI requires that both the cards have the same GPU. Clock speeds, memory sizes and third-party manufacturers may differ, but the GPU must be the same. So an 8800 Ultra can only be paired with another 8800 Ultra and a 7800GTX with another 7800GTX.
As for restrictions, they're more like requirements. You'd need to have a mobo supporting SLI obviously, in addition to a PSU able to supply enough juice for the two cards. Also, you might need extra cooling as well, especially if they're hot-running cards like the 8800 series. That's about it really.

It was doing it every half hour or so, then in the past several days it became literally every 2 seconds, then it started the BSOD, & cycling, not starting at all & after that I could only get it to boot in safe mode...So assuming I needed to buy a new graphics card & not being very hardware savvy (I THOUGHT I had done a good job researching what WOULD work in my system) I purchased the new EVGA GTX 1050 TI SC, I installed it this past weekend & now my PC's stuck at "Press the ESC key for Startup Menu" blue HP screen, it will not start, & if I hit the ESC key it brings me to a black screen with white text listing some specs & something about BIOS & if I hit the esc key in that window it just adds another white text line - "Press the ESC key for Startup Menu"...I've been reading that maybe updating a BIOS would fix it, so this morning I found & updated the BIOS, well it still will not start with the EVGA GTX 1050 TI, BUT I tried putting the old GeForce 8500 GT back in, ... I purchased an Asus Geforce GTX 750ti graphgics card to install in my Lenein H50 50 PC. On the store's website it said that the maxmium wattage output that the pc required to run that graphics card was 150 watt. On the graphics card box it says the munimum requirement is 400 watt. Is this going to be OK? Also, in terms of physically installing it, thew card requires a free PCI express slot. I know nothing about the internal workings of PCs but when I opened up the case, I do not see anything thet resembles a PCI express slot. If this card is not compatible, can anyone suggestr a similar card that would be. Thanks, Paul

A:Compatible Lenovo h50 graphic cards?

It looks like that should work. Your power supply can handle it, and I see a PCI express slot on your computer's motherboard on the hardware manual. I'll suggest to get it from a retailer with retun policy, just in case it doesn't

I want to upgrade graphics card, but have no idea which are compatible.. any suggestions?

A:Which graphics cards are compatible with my motherboard?

You can't always tell with brand manufacturers since sometimes they will have the MB makers modify their boards. However, in this case it looks like any of the AGP video cards will be compatible with the MB. Where you will have to watch things is the card's power requirements. Many of the brands will have a PS on the small (meaning output) size.

have recently come into posession of ati pci express 700 video card will it fit into my dimensions e-310, if not what is the best gaming card that will and where might I find a place to trade the ati card? ,not looking to spend alot $100.00 or less preferably..want to run games like fear and some of the aeria.games online games without texture and lighting problems.will take even up trade on good card that will fit this machine.

A:Compatible video cards for Dimension e-310

Your system has a pci-e x1 slot, while almost all video cards use the pci-e x16 slot. So if you have a x16 card it won't physically fit in the x1 slot. (unless you use an adapter, or melt the connector to allow larger cards to fit)

There is a very limited selection of pci-e x1 cards available. Of the cards that are easy to buy and in your price range, the x1550 pci-e x1 would probably be best. There are better cards(7300gt, 8400gs, etc), but they are either more money or hard to find.

Also, you could get a pci video card, like the 8500gt.

Hello again. I am looking for a WLAN card that is compatible with a Dell Latitude D500 running Windows XP. Peferably ones that don't need a driver install, if possible. Because I want to install an antivirus, and go on this site, Twitter, io game websites, and typing sites like NitroType or typing.com.

Thought you would like to know what sites I wanted to go on XP. F I even can.
