Accept 'Tick-box'

Q: Accept 'Tick-box'

Hi, is it possible to incluse a tick box on a html form which then 'energises' the 'Submit' button?

E.g. I have a form which i want people to read and agree (via a tick-box) to a disclaimer before the submit button on the form is energised.

I do have a vaugue knowlege of Html, but am stumped on this issue.

Thanks, Paul.

Preferred Solution: Accept 'Tick-box'

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Accept 'Tick-box'

You need something other than HTML to accomplish this. SOme sort of active scripting. I an sure there something that can be done with Java type form validation.

Hi all
I was trying to install and new SATA card to my folks HP XW4600. Everthing fine then...the computer powered off!

I turned it back on and all that happens is the fans spin a little, a crackle is heard from the speaker and a ticking sound (every ~4 secs) comes from the PSU. This continues untill I unplug the desktop.

I've unplugged the fans from the PSU - no change. Unplugged the hard drives/dvd from PSU - no change.

Only after unplugging the motherboard do I get a change; the DVD and hard drive are making the noises expected as the system boots and it sounds fine - obviously, as soon as I plug the motherboard back into the PSU - it dies!

What I'd like to know is:

1) is it the PSU? - I don't think so, must be the motherboard. If so..
2) can I just buy a motherboard for a HP xw4600, replace it and see if that's the culprit? If so, I've never replaced a motherboard before. Are there obvious problems I should be aware of?
3) Is it something else?

thanks everyone, as always, any advice is good advice

Cheers

Mark

A:Turn pc on, tick...tick..tick from PSU? what to do?

I dealt with a "ticking" PSU only last week on my son's PC. It co-incided with the PSU's fan playing stop-go, although the actual ticking came from the circuitry behind the fan. A visit to a PC parts shop and an hour later his PC was fine -- new PSU. I took the opportunity to fit a slightly more powerful PSU than the faulty one too.

Sounds like a hard drive problem. If you can back up your stuff as soon as possible.
That may not be possible, with your situation. If you have important stuff on the drive, I suggest that you use it as liitle as possible, until you can backup your documents.
If you are diagnosed with hard drive problems, try this to save your stuff. This is a serious method to save your stuff.

I just received an email about this product. I never heard of it, I guess I lived under a rock...anyhow, it sounds to good to be true, from what I read. Apparently, its an Android product and so it most likely owned by Google. I read some old posts that this product has been in existence for the past 10 years, most likely, in Europe, UK, specifically. Its well time as far as I am concerned, but skeptical ...I just had my annual beef with Time Warner, where they not only try to raise your monthly rates, year after year, but they had the gaul to make free TV channels, a premium one...TCM, IFC, to name a few. I take it that Spectrum who now owns TW, is making these moves, to recuperate some of the cash they had to lay out to buy them. As for TB, there is only one charge for the product, no monthly charge and you can view movies, TV channels and etc. One old post i read by googling it, where members of 10 years and less were complaining that TB web site was closing down. The date of that post was 12/2015 though...and most of those members were from U K. Anyone, here in the states know pros and cons of this product and company? Of course one needs the internet and I have that also with TW.

Hi and Welcome to TSG,

Please update your computer by going to Microsoft Window's Update

Please download and run the following programs on your computer:

Ad-Aware SE - This program will get rid of a lot of spyware on your computer. I believe it will get rid of your Search Miracle spyware. It may also delete your Elite Bar for you. Download the file and install it. After you have done this click on the icon for Ad-Aware SE to start up after you have done this click on the "Check for Updates" at the bottom of the screen to the right. After you have updated Ad-Aware Se go on and press "Start" (bottom right). Just select "Perform Full System Scan" under scanning mode. Finally, click "Next" (bottom right). It will scan your computer for spyware, after you have done this go right click where all the spyware entries are at the very end and press "Select All". After you have done this press "Finish". This may get rid of most your spyware programs.

Spybot Search & Destroy - This is a similiar product just like Ad-Aware SE. Just download and install this program too. Tutorial This is a fast and easy tutorial to get you started with Spybot Search & Destroy.

You may also want to try a free virus scan from Trend Micro .

After you have done this you may also want to clean out your Internet temp files and cookies. You can do this by opening up your Internet browser and going to "Tools"---->"... Read more

Hey there,
One of my users has a laptop with w2k, that he sometimes uses from home. On the network it runs smooth, but one thing he noticed is that when it's disconnected from the network, it's got a sorta tick going on. For example, if he moves the mouse around in a circle, once every second the pointer sticks in one spot for a moment, then continues on until a second later when it sticks again...as if not being connected is messing with it, you know?
And the thing is, when he's dialed in from home, even though he's connected, it still does it.
Any ideas as to what's causing this and how to fix it?
Thanks.

Just a very odd sound coming from my onboard. I have a Gigabyte GA-8IG1000 which has been awesome for a year and a half.

I recently (about 2 weeks ago) noticed that the soundcard will make a tick, kinda sounds like an old DOS game sound. but it is recurring every 3-4 seconds or so. The funny thing is that it only happens in old games like Diablo 2 or Heroes of MM 3. I'm guessing it has something to do with soundblaster compatability, but why hasn't this problem been seen before? I can exit the game, sound will go away. I can even play newer games such as BF2 or even CStrike, and the sound is fine.

I've looked around for similar posts, but can't find any. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using AC' 97 Realtek Codec: ALC850
Win XP

Also, the time this started, i did just set the card to have 2 ports "Line-out" and 1 port "Mic." It didn't occur at the time, but i noticed it after i made this change, and played an older game. However, i've since set it back to default and the sounds still occurs.

A:AC' 97 with odd blip / tick

check the game settings in the sounds options. my friend plays diablo/diablo2 with the same onboard sound as yours, he doesnt get any ticking.

and you mentioned soundblaster compatibility? did you install the wrong drivers maybe?
incase you did, uninstall the soundblaster drivers and install realtek drivers

Hi. Got a strange "problem" that seems to have started by its self. Every time I select an icon, or folder , or even just hover my mouse over it, a selection box appears around it with a tick box inside. I can't think that I did anything to cause this and it doesn't seem to do anything to the way the system works, but it annoys the heck out of me. How do I turn it off please? I get kind of sick of trawling around windows trying to find out how to stop the latest "improvement" that Microsoft has arbitrarily decided I need!

A:What CCleaner boxes shall I tick?

BleepingComputer's stance on registry cleaners has been that the usefulness of cleaning the registry is highly overrated and can be dangerous. In most cases, using a cleaner to remove obsolete, invalid, and erroneous entries does not affect system performance but it can result in "unpredictable results". Unless you have a particular problem that requires a registry edit to correct it, I would suggest you leave the registry alone. Using registry cleaning tools unnecessarily or incorrectly could lead to disastrous effects on your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again. For routine use, the benefits to your computer are negligible while the potential risks are great. Regular disk defragmenting and disk cleanup will help keep your computer running at a normal speed.

Simplest of questions - how is a tick character entered into a cell in Quattro Pro?

I would have called it a tick mark but Quattro Pro Help thinks those are separation marks on graph axes. Google tells me that there is some cartoon character called 'Tick' so no help there either. I've tried ascii tables but can only find a square root symbol. I just want to put a tick in a box goddammit!

OK, I'm using an old version of Quattro Pro, 5 to be exact, but there should still be a simple solution, surely?

Eternal thanks if you've got the answer.

A:Quattro Pro - tick character

Hope you have "wingdings 2" in your fontlist. If you have, then use that font in all the cells you want your checkmarks. If you want a simple checkmark press Shift+P. Shift+R will give you a checkmark in a square box.

Suggest you change the font size to at least 16 to get a decent sized checkmark. Anyhow, you can experiment with sizes till you get one you like.

Once you have done one you can, of course, do a 'copy' and 'paste' to get as many as you want.

Hope this helps.

A recent problem has developed in my rig. I'll hear an odd *tick* and everything will stop or slow down drastically. The mouse still moves but may stutter a bit. Any display, such as a game will stop until it clears up. After 3-6 seconds I may or may not hear a softer tick but everything will return to normal. The sound has recently developed a bit of static and stutter where none existed before and my whole system has suffered a permenant slowdown.

I've done a virus and a spy-ware scan. Both came up negative. The drive was a bit fragged but three defrags in the past two days have done nothing to help.

I have to admit I'm a bit stumped on this one. Please help.

A:Which CCleaner boxes shall i tick?

That depends on what you want to clean out and get rid of. You can right click on each option and choose "Analyze" and it will tell you if there's even any content on your PC within that category and then you can choose whether or not to put the tick mark. For most categories it's self explanatory as to what it's removing (I.E. - "System - Empty Recycle Bin" or "Internet Explorer - History") so you have to decide if you want it to remove that item or not. If you're not sure what it is, you can look it up (Google) or simply just not put a tick and don't bother with that item.

But analyzing each item will help you to know if you need to clean it.

Hi,

Open system.ini
Delete all lines under
[Password Lists]

Go to Start/Find/Files or Folders, and type *.pwl in the 'named' field.
Delete the files with the *.pwl extension that come up.

Now reboot
You should now get the login box. Type your name and password or leave the password field blank for no password

Go to Start/run, and type Regedit.

Drill down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\current version\network\real mode net

Right-click on the Real Mode Net key, choose new>Binary value, name it AutoLogon, and give it a value of 01 00 00 00.

And here's a MS article: Save Password Check Box Is Unavailable

Good luck,

Hi all,

Right I have a table, which is the following:
ID - Autonumber
ID2 - Number
ID3 - Number
Duplicate? - Yes/No
Name - Text

Sample Data:
Code:

ID ID2 ID3 Dup? Name
1 1 1 - Alan Smith
2 2 2 - Bob Smith
3 3 3 - Bob Smith

Data I want:

Code:

ID ID2 ID3 Dup? Name
1 1 1 N Alan Smith
2 2 2 Y Bob Smith
3 3 3 Y Bob Smith

You can ignore the ID's - they are not all the same as in the sample data, but they are irrelevant for what I need.

As you will see from the data above, "Alan Smith" is a unique name, and therefore Duplicate? is set to NO; whereas "Bob Smith" has two occurrences, so the Duplicate? is set to YES.

I know I need an append to go through each line to check if it is a duplicate. Any thoughts on how I can go about this???

I cannot get the right time out of the system when running my old 16-bit program on Windows NT SP6a (on an Elonex machine) so I tried running a copy of the Windows 3.11 clock.exe and that has the same problem. When it starts, it shows a time 28 mins (approx.) in the future and just stays there, not changing. I made a simple exe to call time() same problem. Stop and start and it gets a new time - 28 mins in the future again.
Cannot find anything useful on Microsoft or Elonex web-sites. Works OK on other Windows NT computers. Tearing my hair out.

Hi all

I don't know how to fill in boxes with foxit PDF editor. I want to put an X in a box in a PDF file.
I try to edit the text, which is displayed in the properties as <0000> to x but when I do it is just reset to <0000>. I can't find anything on the internet to help me.

If anybody knows how to do this I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

It looks like title is already in bold? For the green tick, you can click this and just type solved. It will be done by someone of the mods around.
cheers

Im using a timer to maintain the speed at which an object moves and as part of the program the speed of the object needs to slowly increase and then once a certin point is reached stop accelerating. this is for a programing assignment and must use the timer.
Any help would be apreciated here is the code i have so far it works in that the vehcle travels at a constant speed.

A:Solved: VB . Net Increasing timer tick rate

Hi dis0wned1,

You may try this : while handling a tick of the timer in tmrMove_tick, you may stop the timer, reset its interval time and then restart it.
(More info about timer : here).

PS. I'm not a VB developer but I've already used similar objects in Java. They look to work the same way.

Edit :
----
Personally, I don't think it's a good thing to alter the interval time of a timer.
Your application may look choppy as the tick event is used by the system to refresh the form and its components.

There's a more elegant solution without modifying the interval time that will make your application run smoothly :
for example, if you want an accelerating effect by 2 :

- First, display the initial situation,
- Built your timer with an interval time set to 4 milliseconds and start it,
- skip 255 ticks,
- Tick : recompute the position of your car,
- skip 127 ticks,
- Tick : recompute the position of your car,
- skip 63 ticks,
- Tick : recompute the position of your car,
....
....
- Last tick : stop the timer when the number of ticks to skip is equal to 1.

Hello,
I've been doing a bit of research and I know I have something called Tick Find Close Surf. I deleted one file in it which seemingly wasn't there last time I looked, and there's a Win 32 file I can't delete. I also know other parts of my computer are infected but I don't know precisely what, (apart from CiD, sadly I can't eradicate it via traditional installation). If an expert could look through this logfile I would be very grateful.

Many thanks,

I have just reinstalled Windows XP Professional after a Trojan Attack which could not be removed. On the Automatic Updates under Security Center via the Control Panel I have chosen "Notify me but don't automatically download or install them"
However when I click the tray notification icon to bring up the window "Choose updates to download" the tick boxes are greyed out, but with a tick inside them - allowing me no choice but to download the updates which are notified (or not - but leaving the notification icon in the system tray awaiting attention).
Can anyone assist is restoring these tick boxes?
