Q: Windowsupdate.log WARNING: SyncUpdates failure, error = 0x8024400D, soap client error = 7, soap error code = 300, HTTP status code = 200

Hello all,

I have a problem with Windows Update agent on Windows 7 SP1 enterprise.
We are using Configuration Manager 1606 and Windows 7 SP1 and about 140 computers works without any problem.
On the other 10 computers I got the following error message in the windowsupdate.log:
WARNING: SyncUpdates failure, error = 0x8024400D, soap client error = 7, soap error code = 300, HTTP status code = 200
WARNING: SOAP Fault: 0x00012c
WARNING: faultstring:Fault occurred
WARNING: ErrorCode:InvalidParameters(7)

I've tried several actions although none does any help. Here is the list of actions:
- upgrade windows update agent to the latest version
- windows update agent reset by this instructions https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/971058/how-do-i-reset-windows-update-components
- empty Temporary Internet files
- check the rules and blocked traffic on windows firewall and physical firewall between server and workstation vlan
- sfc /scannow

It looks like significant Windows 7 error, although reinstalling is not my option.

Thanks for any help!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there,my name is Marius and I will assist you with your malware related problems. Before we move on, please read the following points carefully. First, read my instructions completely. If there is anything that you do not understand kindly ask before proceeding. Perform everything in the correct order. Sometimes one step requires the previous one. If you have any problems while following my instructions, Stop there and tell me the exact nature of your problem. Do not run any other scans without instruction or add/remove software unless I tell you to do so. This would change the output of our tools and could be confusing for me. Post all logfiles as a reply rather than as an attachment unless I specifically ask you. If you can not post all logfiles in one reply, feel free to use more posts. If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed. Stay with me. I will give you some advice about prevention after the cleanup process. I want to use SOAP to carry RPC messages between client and server.
Both client and server should be able to send RPC request and response to each other.
The Messages from client to server are passed using post
The messages from server to client are passed using 200 ok
Single message(POST or 200 ok) can contain multiple SOAP envelopes. Each envelope
will have one SOAP request or response.

I want to write this application on Linux using C/C++(and if needed Python).

I have explored SOAPpy and few other libraries but I think they didn't exactly match to my requirements.

Please let me know, if you know an open source library which gives web and SOAP support for above functionality?

Thanks and Regards

Ok - I'm trying to fix my friends' computer - Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975 running Windows 7 32-bit

Windows firewall is off and I need to "Update Firewall Settings". When I click use recommended settings, I get a message that says it "can't change some of your settings. Error code 0x80070424" I get the same thing when I click on "Turn Windows Firewall on or off" and "Restore Defaults"

When I click on "Advanced Settings" I get "There was an error opening the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in" followed by it "failed to load. Restart the Windows Firewall service on the computer you are managing. Error code 0x6D9."

I scanned the computer using both Avast and Microsoft Safety Scanner (full scan and took over 2 hours) - no infections or issues found

I installed all Microsoft updates and followed suggested restarts.

I ran Microsoft Fix It and I get a message that the firewall isn't running or stopped and it can't be fixed.

I have gone into services as an administrator to try and start Windows Firewall...it isn't there - not in the list of services (local)

I also used SlimDrivers to update all the drivers on the computer.

What I am not seeing is how to uninstall and reinstall Windows Firewall...any other program or hardware issue, that would seem to be the easiest solution - but I have yet to see how to do that with Windows Firewall.

I even started the computer in safe mode... Read more

hello,
well let's get straight to the point. i had windows xp with a beta version of service pack 2 installed, found out i had the w32 welchia virus and i just couldn't get rid of it, my antivirus (norton) would detect and delete it everytime i disabled my norton internet security.

so, after i did a few scans with a few different removal program (usually they found something and deleted it, sometimes they didn't), but it was still there. so i decided to try the microsoft security update, but since i had SP beta 2 i couldn't install SP1 security update. so i removed sp2. every since then i've been getting this status code error:
c:\windows\system32/lsass.exe caused status code 1073741819
so, i did some searches on the web and found this site:
http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBH/tip3800/rh3891.htm

it says NOTE: You can use Ldp.exe or Adsiedit.exe to change the replInterval value

i guess i have to change that value to get it working properly, but i don't have ldp.exe or adsiedit.exe and don't know where to get them.
so now everytime i reboot i get this error msg and it restarts the pc. sometimes it works though, which is how i'm on now. i left it on overnight and it didn't reboot the whole night... so i thought with the sp1a upgrade i fixed it, but i just got the error about 5 minutes ago.

can anyone help me fix this?
it's really annoying argg...
i hope i don't have to reinstall xp.

im running windows xp pro with sp1a

A:InPageCoFire error status code c0000185

That error is caused by a system file being damaged in some way. You ought to be able to repair the damage by using Windows built-in System File Checker utility:Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, type cmd . When the Instant search results are shown, right-click the cmd.exe entry and choose Run as administrator.. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. At the command prompt (a black box with white text,) type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannowWait for the SFC utility to complete, this may take some time and you may be prompted for your Windows CD or DVD.This will, with any luck, find and fix the broken file.

If you wish to know how the Internet is restricted by governments, the new 451 protocol will tell you.

Governments will not always be able to disguise which content they restrict across the Web thanks to a new error code which will warn users of content restricted through censorship.

On Friday, the group responsible for Internet standards, the Internet Engineering Steering Group (IESG), approved a new HTTP code to differentiate between Web pages which cannot be shown for technical reasons and others which are unavailable for non-technical reasons, such as governmental censorship.

Status codes, available within the 100s to 500s, are most commonly encountered when something goes wrong -- such as a server downtime, for example, which prevents a user from accessing a Web page. The common 404 error tells users a page has not been found, but now 451 is coming into its own as a way to track other restrictions.

Online censorship is on the rise. Governments in the European bloc force ISPs to restrict access to websites linking to pirated content, China has its ever-famous "Great Firewall" which heavily restricts the Web, and countries including Russia and South Korea are also cracking down on access.

It isn't always easy to work out whether a Web page is down because of technical reasons or governmental meddling. However, a new Internet protocol could change that.

No-one replied to this post and so the problem was never fixed.
(The updates continued to fail downloading or installing)
I upgraded to Windows 10 Home and thankfully didn't need to have the updates installed to upgrade.

Back in April this year I downloaded two important updates:

1) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 x64-based Systems (KB3023222)

2) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 x64-based Systems (KB3032663)

However during the installation I encountered Error Code: 80073712
I tryed the installation again without anything else open and still the same result
I tryed the installation again having restarted and still the same result
I tryed the installation again after running the DISM Tool and still the same result

Yesterday (17/7/15) I tryed to download another important update:

1) Security Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB3004365)

However during the download I encountered Error Code: 800F081F
I tryed everything that I tryed previously and still the same result

I searched around and both of these error codes apparently mean that a file needed by Windows Update is either damaged or missing

I thought I might as-well start a thread about it on these forums as not being able to download/install security updates isn't a good thing

First of all try to check if ALT+F10 at boot take you to windows recovery and you can reach command prompt from there:troubleshoot-advanced options- command prompt (if this works, go to point 4, if not point 1)1. create a vanilla Windows 8.1 installation media from this link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media2. Once you boot using the Windows installation disc, on the Windows 8.x installation window, click on Repair your computer.3. Click on Troubleshoot and in the Advanced options. First thing you may try is the Automatic Repair.4. If that does not help, then select Command Prompt. Enter the following four commands into the prompt.bootrec /fixmbrbootrec /fixbootbootrec /scanosbootrec /rebuildbcdOnce the command completes, restart the computer.

The reason for attempting the repair is that the System File Checker says there are files that it could not repair when I ran it. I ran it originally because I couldn't install or uninstall anything. I would get an error: This application was unable to start correctly. With error message (0xC0000006)

You may need to attempt SFC up to 3 times to repair damaged System Files. But first disinfect per Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7. If there is any problem go with the bootable scans in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start as the OS may be in the death grip of infection.

Then SFC may run better from the Win7 installation media or System Repair Disk Command Line: SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

If these fail then you can try the Repair Install after establishing a Clean Boot per Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

But you may be better off copying out your files to quarantine to follow these same steps for a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which compiles everything that works best in tens of thousands of installs we've helped with here.

I do OS image deployments for customers on multiple platforms and multiple languages on multiple OS's. I'm now begining my deployment for Windows 7 and have hit a major stumbling block. The above error happens at the end of my installation when running 'bcdboot.exe d:\windows'As far as the install goes it is a self generating HDD install system. 1. Four partitions are created #1 is the 200mb System, #2 is the OS partition, #3 is the WinPE boot partition for the image build set as active, #4 is the imaging files location.2. Upon boot of the image install the system sets partition letters for installing using diskpart.exe.3. An interview using an HTA file starts up asking Name, Language, Timezone, and location.4. Using an WMI call to the baseboard I get the SYSID so that the right driver set can be applied.5. Once the user selects Ok in the HTA interview screen the imaging is all automated. 6. The very last thing that I do before rebooting is call bcdboot s:\Windows (because is the actual driver letter at the time of the windows install, I've also tired using 'D' but it doesn't work either) then I remove the extra partitions and set the #1 partition as active then reboot. This system works fine under my windows XP install and the only real difference is the 200MB system partition. I've tried varying the sequence but it doesn't seem to matter. Any ideas? Thanks for the help,Randall Dale

A:BFSVC:BcdOpenSystemStore failed with unexpected error code, Status = [c0000098]

I do bcdboot after the image is applied. Me thinks your bcdboot is failing because wrong partition is active at the time of bcdboot. My workflow is:1. Wipe the disk2. Create 200 MB partition. Assign letter. Active. Format3. Create partition ocupying the rest of the disk (or smaller). Assign letter. Format4. ImageX. Source is network share. Destination is partition 2 (D:)5. bcdboot d:\windows6. Reboot. It works for me.

Can you hear the drive spin up ? I can't see why what you have done would affect the drive. You say you have checked the connections. Try going into BIOS and get to the hard drive screen and see if it will detect anything, also ensure you are in AHCI mode and not IDE.

Hi guys, first time posting so apologies in advance if I do something illegal. As far as I can gather, I should be posting in the right forum. I've been having system stability problems for the last week or so. I think it might be because of a mass driver update across my system since nothing else seems to be the cause.

Basically, I updated some drivers bout a week ago and now the PC either hangs or auto-restart when I'm playing games. At first I thought it might be due to OC instability, so I reset my bios to default settings. Didn't quite work out completely as the system still exhibits the "sudden death" during gaming.

Have tried the steps in the sticky above on refreshing the page file. defragging etc. Problem still hasn't gone away. All rams have cleared 7 cycles of memtest at 2.65 volts and 2.6 volts without problems, though everything has been reset to stock already.

My system specs are as follows :
AMD 64X2 4200+
MSI K8N Neo 4 Platinum
2 x 512mb Kingston CH5 PC3200 DDR
2 x 512mb Mushkin Black Line BH5 DDR
Inno 6600GT 128mb
Creative Audugy ZS Platinum
BenQ 1640
Gigabyte CD-RW
Hitachi/IBM 80GB SATA II
Western Digital 240GB SATA HD
Verudium Vortex 430W

Am fairly sure its not a power issue and the core temp never exceeds 49 degrees even at full load. Its about 44/45 idle. Am guessing it might be the soundcard though... Anyone able to help?

Would be most grateful for any assistance and thanks in advance.

I found this; Rename (or just delete) the SoftwareDistribution folder and see if it helps. You can use the procedure described here: http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5co...id=21&ln=en Note that a side effect of renaming or deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder is that you lose your Windows Update History listing (not critical). (later on, you can just delete the renamed SoftwareDistribution folder) http://www.eggheadcafe.com/forumarchives/w...ost24597399.aspBut can not make it out, and can not see the relationship with the, Microsoft Online Assisted Support ?Anyone who can co-relate this in explanation I will be glad to hear from !

Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me or if anyone has similar issues?

I've been plagued with random restarts from error code 41 - kernel power failure for weeks.

Please don't send me off to the microsoft knowledgebase, that doesn't tell me Jack! especially with the bug check code of "0"

I tried reinstalling windows no joy, so it had to be my PSU right? Even though my 2-3 year old Corsair HX850W with it's 7 year warranty (guess what, I can't find the receipt!) is supposed to be bullet proof. So, new PSU purchased. An Antec Earthwatts 650w. Still the same problem.

I checked the RAM, 4X 2GB sticks, one by one, they all failed on Test 7 of Memtest 86. As did two brand new sticks. A google revealed that that version of Memtest fails on Test 7 regardless. I tried the latest version of Memtest 86+ and all the sticks passed.

I checked all 3 hard drives with Seatools - all 3 were fine.

I've reinstalled windows 7 64 bit Professional yet again and decided not to install any updates.

I installed the latest graphics card driver for my ATI Radeon HD5700 card. That insisted on installing the .net4 framework as well. I restarted and within minutes the computer restarted. It has now randomly locked up.

Linux Mint seems to be working ok. I ran prime 95 on it which was going well but the computer did lock up when it went to the screen saver. I'll give it a try again later on. Otherwise, Mint was fine being left on over night, whereas Windows will shutd... Read more

Recently, my computer got infected with a virus, so I booted in safe mode, ran Malywarebytes to get ride of it. I repeatably went into safe mode, scan, log into windows to see of the virus was still there

When it seemed that I finally got ride of the virus in safe mode, I rebooted and received this error message

***STOP 0x0000007B (0XB84C7524, 0x000000E, 0X00000000)

I know 0x0000007B means a boot issue, but I have no idea what those numbers afterwards are.

If someone could point me in the right direction of what this error message means, since I don't want to guess and check, I would be grateful.

That should help you out a little. Honestly if you just removed a virus I'd say a system critical file may have been altered or deleted. Try using your OS CD to run a repair install, GL.

Ran selective startup thru msconfig and attempted install to no avail
Installed SURT
Ran sfc /scannow

CBS.zip file attached, I think that's everything from the post instructions.

Hello,

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64-bit Operating System. My issue is that last night I received 8 important updates though Windows Update to install (Windows Update is set to download updates but let me choose when to install them). When I installed them, only 6 were installed. Two of them, Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3088195) and Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3097966), will not install. I have repeatedly tried to dl and install them through Windows Update and both of them fail, with "Error code 80073712".

When this batch of 8 updates showed up last night, I downloaded all of them and Windows Update only showed it was downloading 6 of them. These last two (KB3088195 & KB3097966) will not download. However, they sit in Windows Update as "2 important updates are available". Windows does not keep trying on its own to download them though, neither at shut down nor does it remind me that I have these 2 updates available to download. They just sit in Windows Update as  "2 important updates are available".

I have tried to figure this out for a few hours, but I am not the most computer savvy person. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Are you getting that error for every updates or when installing a specific update ? . Before trying any repair attempts,  uninstall your antivirus software and see if it helps. You can re install it later.

If that didn't solve the issue, please follow the below steps.

1 ) Make sure Date, time and region settings are correct.

Make sure your WIndows 7 is SP1 installed. If not download and run the SP1 offline setup.

2 )If all areOK download 'Windows Repair ALL in One' from  http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html

3) Install and open the tool. Click next to continue. Go to Step 3 and click on the Do it button to run System File Check.

4 ) Go to Step 4 and click on the Create button under System Restore.

5 ) Go to Start Repairs and click on the Start button.

6 ) If it asks permission to backup registry, allow it to do so. Now you will see the main screen.

Click 'Unselect All' to remove default selection. Now select the following items.

 Register system files
Set Windows services to default start up
 Repair windows Update
 Repair Windows Firewall

I'm running Windows 2000 on my p.c. (using the laptop now) and am getting "inaccessible boot device error number 4096".

I can get as far as the safe mode options but am taken straight back to the blue screen.

The message also says that if this is the first time this error has occurred, to use CHKDSK /F as file \i386\biosinfo.could not be loaded.

There are two hard drives in the computer and I presume it's the old one,
containing the operating system, that's failed.

Hello,
I have been having some trouble with Windows update recently. My CheckSUR.log file says I'm missing 146 CSI Payload Files

I've attached both CBS and CheckSUR log files. Thanks for any help offered!

A:Windows update failure - error code 80073712

Here's the summary from your CheckSUR.log file...

Code:
Summary:
Seconds executed: 889
Found 146 errors
CSI Payload File Missing Total count: 146
This tome indicates that something serious interfered at the crucial time of an update install where the files were being relocated after a reboot - especially as SFC appears to find nothing amiss.

I'll post a fix protocol for the above errors later - but I wouldn't hold out too much hope of its being effective.

This is starting to affect my ability to play newer games giving me 3B bluescreen errors and the like.

I have searched for 3 days for an answer to this problem. I have talked to folks at HP, Tiger Direct, Geek Squad, you name it everyone agreed at first, now I get different answers!!!!! So I come to you.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6324us notebook bought in late 07 with Vista Home Premium, last week I got an imminent hard drive failure, but before I could do anything it just croaked. I had not produced the recovery DVDs. I checked the bios and could not run the HDD test, the answer was no ide detected, also the only boot option was for the DVD drive, no hard drive showed up, (this was the point everyone agreed on, the Hard drive was dead and not being recognized by the system). I bought a new hard drive from Tigerdirect and bought a recovery DVD from HP. I installed the new Seagate Momentous 120 SATA, inserted the recovery CD and things started to happen, Ahhh Bliss, as soon as I click the yes button to install the works WHAM a box with

I hooked up a usb Drive to see if it reads in the bios and it does. ONE thing I do notice is the new hard drive does not get seen by the bios, so could it be the mother board or the connector? I would really appreciate any help that can be given, I don't want to keep throwing good money after bad, but even better would be to finally get an answer. Thanks

A:Hard Drive Failure and an error 100a code

Hi gw122, welcome to the board.

Sounds like either bad SATA cable, bad connection or port. Have you try a different post? Also, replace SATA cable. Other possibility is your PSU went unstable which causing mb damage. PSUs in all big computer manufacturers are questionable in quality. So HP may be right about the mb is being bad.

Hope this helps.

Hi

I presented this Windows Update problem, error code 80070643 to the forum about 18 months ago, and at that time I decided to reinstall W7 as it was the least complex option. The problem I have is a Windows Update failure loop which leads to the failure of all subsequent Windows Updates and also disables System Restore, and the update failure always starts with the .NET Framework update. When this problem started, it occurred every 6 months, so I had no major issues reinstalling just to correct it. Now it is occurring every 2 months, making re-installation unsustainable.

My question is this ? Microsoft kb976982 states that an MSI fix, Microsoft Fixit 50123, should be used first to try to resolve the issue. When I tried to run it, I got the message

?Windows Installer ? this action is only valid for products that are currently installed?.

Visiting Microsoft Help for more info about the Fixit50123, there was this System Tip -

?This article applies to a different version of Windows than the one you are using. Content in this article may not be relevant to you. Visit the Windows 7 Solutions Center?.

Even though there is an MSI.DLL file in W7 system 32, does that mean I do not need this Fixit50123 at all? If so, I can then go ahead and try the uninstall / reinstall the .NET Framework, secure in the knowledge that I did not miss one important step i.e. the MSI Fixit50123.

Thanks

A:W7 Update failure loop, error code 80070643

The type of error message you got often means that you've downloaded the wrong bitness of installer - however, I do mot think that's the case here (as far as I know, there is only one Fixit50123 file)
What I suspect is that there is a failure in dll registration somewhere - and you need to fix that before attempting anything else.
Are you seeing any other symptoms, besides Windows Updates problems?
try this KB article - How do I reset Windows Update components? use the fixit from that and see if it helps (or gives the same message!)
