Preferred Solution: Blue screen of death appears out of nowhere due to app error please help

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi Bleeping Computer,

Recently, Blue Screens of Death have appeared often when I'm trying to shut down the computer, or else it occurs randomly while I'm using the computer.
The most frequent message that appears is : IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Also, I've had a month-long problem of links being redirected on search engines as well. For this problem, I've already tried to solve it with a A squared scan, a MalwareBytes scan, a Adaware Scan, and an AntiVir (the one with the umbrella) scan , but none of them seemed to fix the problem. What I should I DO??

Thanks in advance,

Hi Guys,
I have just spent hours and hours trying to find info and solution for my problem but I have had no luck whatsoever. I hope someone here can help me.

Ok this is the situation.
I have got a HP Laptop that is about a year a half old, its top of the range. I had my laptop in Hibernate mode the other night and the next afternoon I went to turn it back on there was a blank screen for a long time, all the lights on the laptop were on but nothing on the screen. I turned the laptop off and then back on again. and BOOM! The blue screen of death!
The computer starts up with the HP logo and then it pops up a screen saying that a previous attempt to start up had failed and it gave me options to start up in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, start with the previous successfull start config, and normal start up. When i click ANY of these the windows logo pops up for about 3 seconds and then the blue screen, which appears for long enough for me to read 3 letters or numbers at a time. Then the computer restarts and we go through the whole process again.
This is what I have done in the hope of fixing it.
#I used my HP retore disks and it loaded disk 1 of 3 and it didnt ask for the other 2 disks which i thought was odd. But that made no differeance still the same start up process as explained above.

But when I press enter, the blue screen of death appears, and the problem is not fixed.

Hey everyone,

I have a ASUS windows 8 system (64-bit) I bought slightly more than a year ago. After 6 months, I got the Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error blue screen (like this image: ) once in 10 days or so. I neglected to address the problem then. Totally regret it! Its frequency slowly started increasing and today I got it almost once every hour.

It does not happen at start-up like I read in some forums but while I am randomly working. The error message appears and the system automatically restarts. I have a major presentation for school coming up in a couple of weeks and would like to fix this at the soonest.

I ran disk check on my C drive and it said there were some problems and I went ahead and requested a repair. Once its complete and I ran the disk check again it still says there are errors and I initiated the repair again. Not sure if its fixed this time. D drive had no problems. I also ran the memory diagnostics tool - no memory errors were found.

I really really appreciate any help I can get! Thank You in advance

Can you boot into XP?
Or can you boot into Safe Mode?

Start/Run and type in

At the prompt type
chkdsk /r (there is a space before /)

Reboot and chkdsk will run.

It might take a long time if it finds problems.

I also have the same Blue Screen Problem.
Rolling Dog, (or other helper) if you dont mind, could you please tell me what wrongs with my computer? I've fed up with it for long! This blue screen have been kept happening since I purchased the new motherboard and CPU, but using the old RAM (which the DDR is matched). Before I go ahead to buy a new RAM, could you help me out?

It keeps occuring when I am playing video game, or not even doing anything! It restarted and showed the message of recovered from a serious error.

I've attached the zip file following your instruction.

Error code 000000c4, parameter1 00000060, parameter2 00000024, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000001.

That's taken right off of my Event Viewer.

Basically, I installed Black and White 2 a couple of days ago, but whenever I go to play it, I don't even reach the splash screen, I just get that error, and it says something like "A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught, the faulty driver working on the kernel stack must be replaced with a working version."

My problem is, I've updated ALL of my drivers to the latest versions, I've tried rolling back drivers in all sorts of combinations, even the patch they released hasn't helped at all. Any help here would be greatly appreciated, as it's too late for me to return the game, and I don't want to have wasted my money.

Also - this is the only time I've ever encountered this error, all the other games I play run perfectly well.

PC Specs:

Radeon 9550 256mb vid card
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ processor

Any help is MUCH appreciated, thanks.

Hi, I'm hoping the hard drive of my Dell Desktop 9200 (Windows XP) is not cooked for good. Everything had been running fine and dandy. I ran CCleaner on Friday and fixed some registry errors as part of it. I made sure to back up the registry before doing so.

Saturday night I got the BSOD, but with no error message (see attached for image and details). My immediate thought was the registry was hosed so I merged the registry backup file back into registry. Things were cooking until Sunday when the BSOD started appearing again.

I ran a chkdsk /r and proceeded, but the BSOD returned with the message

Unmountable_Boot_Volume (see attached for image and details).

I've read there's a possible fix for this, but lucky me I don't have a Windows XP boot CD and have not found solid info on creating one. I'm working right now on a Dell Latitude D600 which is also running Windows XP. Can a boot CD be created from it to run on the desktop?

So many errors and so little time. Any help would be great appreciated.

One thing you can do is to test the memory for any errors. I recommend using "memtest86," a very good memory diagnostics program. See if the program detects any errors.

Hi all,
bsodman here. New to the forum and nice to be here. As my username suggests I have a problem with the dreaded BSOD. Recently re-formatted my computer and did all the usual installations. It uses Windows XP 2002. Service pack 3 home edition, AMD 64 x 2 dual processor 3800 + 2.01 GHz, 1GB ram. I was surfing the internet when i got the bsod with the following error code. Only had this happen once before since the re-format.

STOP: 0x0000009C (0x00000004,0x8054E5F0,0xB2000000,0x00070F0F)

I should mention that the reason I re-formatted the computer was because I had the BSOD happen literally hundreds of times until the computer became unusable. Any help would be appreciated.

You could still use your old HD as a slave drive, but check it's SMART status using the manufacturer's utility. If it has failed it's SMART status, then it is likely it won't last too long. You might also wanna try booting off the XP cd and running "chkdsk" from recovory console.

Every time I get a blue screen it says something like "page error in non-pagable area."

I have no idea what is causing this. It happens when I'm using wireless internet and when I'm not, so that couldn't be the problem. Any help on understanding/fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Someone help!
My computer just crashed yesterday evening while I was visiting various internet sites like video streaming, and you tube. Then when I started surfing onto a manga site to read online manga, page froze, then my computer suddenly start sending me virus/trojan alerts, telling me my firewall is not on, etc and then a legit-looking Microsoft Security notice telling me to "register now" to fix problem. The little pop-up official-looking MS security firewall screen refuses to close, and I believed it was probably a spyware wanting me to buy their product. I ran system check and noticed some new programs seems started as of yesterday (4-10-10 around 16:40)
These program names are:
removalfile.bat and aax2jNyu4r5m2 in C:\ Docment&Settings\admin
Thumbs.db in C:\ programfiles\commonfiles
nmdfgds0.dll, logonui.exe.manifest, cdplayer.exe.manifest in C: windows\system32
pd0o1.exe in C:\ (THIS is a known problem startup file that I previously STOPPED process on, but seems to have restarted on its own?)
pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys in C:\ (both said "file in use")
ave.exe (no info on this given)

I "killed" this processes and then restarted my computer. Then that's when problem started!
Now I'm in endless "boot-loop" hell, computer trying over and over to boot, telling me it encountered problems. I searched for info through internet (using another comp) and finally able to stop the loop and get blue screen up and it says:... Read more

I have been getting the 116 error while I play games like Planetside 2 and even Starcraft at lower settings. Running Bluescreenview points to dxgkrnl.sys. I have tried doing driver wipe and got the latest drivers from the manufacturers website. This all started to begin when I installed my Radeon 7770 from MSI. It is hooked up and runs fine but for some reason it still gets BSOD. Before the GPU I used my A10 5700 AMD APU. It ran these games FINE with no Blue screens (although the latest drivers would give me a BSOD whenever I started Minecraft).

Any assistance and even a fix would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you to everyone in advance you guys are good people.

I am getting a blue screen error on start up. Originally I was able to load the last known good configuration and the computer started fine. Last week though the problem came back and now we cannot even get windows to start. (FYI - Safe Mode will start) I just formated this computer about 2 months ago and has been working fine, but no new software or hardware has been added to this computer. I need help asap. The stop error is as follows:

Stop Error: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x8056e2ea, 0xf69f698c, 0x00000000)

This is all the info it gives, so if someone knows how to read this better then me let me know. (The most I have been able to find out is that it is a Kernal issue.)

Its been occuring for sometime now (about 6 months? realli annoying me), but i still haven't been able to fix the problem. the problem is that whenever my computer is either playing music/videos or running bittorrent programs it tends to crash very frequently(sometimes if im lucky it doesn't crash), but it doesn't ever crash when im playing a game or on desktop..... i don't kno whats making it do that. at first the comp just restarted suddenly wid out any notice, then i checked some forums and they told me to turn off the option of a restart when an error occurs to see what is causing the problem, so now instead of it restarting i got a blue screen which comes up with the error

***STOP 0x0000007F (0x0000000D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

can someone help me solve this problem?

my machine is:
Pentium 4: 3.4ghz
MotherBoard: Asus motherboard P5S800-VM
RAM: Two DDR400(2.5) 512mb*16
Graphics Card: Radeon 9550 pro

Hi last night i got the dreaded blue screen of death did not see what it said as it shut down so fast but when it restarted this is the error message i got.

BCCode : 1000000a BCP1 : 00000068 BCP2 : 000000 FF BCP3 : 00000001
BCP4 : 8057AA91 OSVER : 5_1_2600 SP : Product : 256_1

Also it was pointing to my temp files something about WER24EF and SYSDATA.xml

No idea what any of this means so thought i would ask here.

I am running windows xp pro with all updates AVG runs every day and has not picked anything up and i have not made any recent changes i was chating on MSN when the pc shut down but i don't think MSN is the problem but i could be wrong.

Any help on this would be most apreciated.

A:Blue Screen of Death, Fatal Error

This is usually a driver error. If it's the first time you've had it, then it's not an issue right now - although we could analyze the memory dump to find out what it points to (although that doesn't always give immediate resolution).
Make sure Windows is updated and see if it occurs again - if so then we'll start troubleshooting the cause.

I would appreciate any help with this. I started getting the "Blue Screen of Death" a few weeks ago, and now it is getting more frequent.

Here is the error message:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x00000005 (0x5A226DA0, 0x89257810, 0x00000001, 0x00000000)

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.

Contact you system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.

I know it can be a lot of things, but I would appreciate if you could tell me the best way to diagnose the problem. Thank you.

A:Blue Screen of Death - Error Message

must say it's the first time i've seen this message. Have you tried starting in safe mode to see if it happens there also? Do you get the message at random times or when you are doing something in particular (eg on the net, using video)?
Best to post your specs, might help other people to help you if they have more info.

So, I keep getting a message like:
"A Problem has occurred with ialmdev5.dll. This could be caused by new software you have installed."

I updated to service pack 3(I know, a bit late). Reinstalled graphics drivers, and tried to download the Intel driver for my chipset, but it did not work. Gave me the error:
"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer."

Blarg! I dunno what to do next. This only happens when I try to play the game Star Wars Galaxies, and I am usally able to play for maybe five min before the error shows up, I'd really like to play the game after the freaking five hour download I had to wait for it.
