I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

My touch screen is no longer working... doesn't matter if the computer is being used as a laptop or if the screen is rotated and operating (not) as a tablet. In the device manager:- I have disabled, then enabled the "HID compliant touch screen".- I have uninstalled the same and rebooted the computer. I am not seeing any other suggestions on the internet...

In response to customer reports of intermittent touchscreen function failure on X1 Yoga (Type 20FQ and 20FR) after resuming from sleep or when the lid is opened or closed, Lenovo has made a solution via touchscreen firmware available via download from the Lenovo Forums.

My recently purchased X1 Yoga touch screen has stopped working. Things I've tried to so far: Updating all drivers for BIOS and other devicesDisabling and re-enabling the touchscreen device and Wacom HID device in Device ManagerUninstalling touch screen device and Wacom HID Device in Device ManagerUnchecking "allow computer to turn off this device to save power"Reboot from safe modeRestore Windows to factory defaultFor clarifications the pen is working just fine.  I was able to get the touchscreen back for awhile by uninstalling the Wacom device in Device Manager and rebooting. That fix doesn't work anymore. I'm really frustrated by this - not even restoring windows to factory default fixes the problem. I've looked online for many hours on this issue and pretty much tried everything suggested. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Any update on this?  I just got my computer, all was fine.  Ran a windows update and the touchscreen stopped working.  Still works with the pen though.

My touch screen has been working fine however the touch screen is no longer working in either the laptop mode or the tablet mode, which of course makes the tablet completely unusable.  I do have the auto install set for upgrades.  I have searched the Forum and the Google web for possible solutions but nothing seems to work.  I have run the "Lenovo Check System for updates" but get a message that the lastest drivers are installed.  Here are my System specs -   System SKU:  LENOVO_MT_81B5_BU_idea_FM_YOGA 720-121KB   BOIS Version/Date:  LENOVO 5GCN29WW, 11/1/2018   SMBIOS Version:  3.0   Embedded Controller Version:  1.24   BIOS Mode: UEFI   OS Name: Microsoft Wiindows 10 Home   Version: 10.0.17134 Build 17134 Need advise to get this working again.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 720-121KB Laptop (ideapad) that has worked great in switching between laptop-keyboard to the tablet-mode.  However I can no longer utilize the tablet-mode as the touch screen is no longer working.  A year or so ago I had a similar problem and the fix was to install a BIOS/Driver change and it started working again.  I have install all the latest Bios, drivers, patches, Windows10 updates from the Lenovo web site.  Still broken. What do I need to do to get this touch screen working again?Thank you,Darwin

I've just reinstalled Windows 10 on this laptop and the touchscreen no longer works or is recognized. The device manager does not even list a touch-device under human interface devices, and the settings app reports that Pen & Touch is unavailable. I manually installed the intel chipset and display drivers from the support pages, but it has not made any differences. Does anyone have some insight as to why this might be happening?

My Lenovo Yoga 920-13IKB is a 2 in 1 laptop running Windows 10 Home.  Meaning full Active S Pen and Touch screen.  After installing the Version  1909 update, it's Device Specifications (via Windows Settings) Pen and touch:  No pen or touch input is available for this display.    In Device Manager/Human Interface Devices, no HID Touch screen device or driver is available.  The Wacom Device cannot start.  I'm assuming because Version 1909 eliminated the pen and touch support. I ran a full restore of Win 10 Home (no pen or touch support found), ran a driver update scan via Lenovo.  It identified a "Touch Panel Pen Driver - 10" driver to be updated.  Update the driver and reboot and nothing has changed.  Start the Lenovo Pen Settings App and get a message that the Wacom Pen Driver is required.  Odd, since the Wacom Device won't start as stated above.  Follow the Lenovo Pen Settings link to download the Wacom Pen driver, install it, no change in functionality.  Same process before and after v1909 update with no Pen or Touch support.  It's barebones, no antivirus, firewall, anti-malware to get in the way. The machine came with a HDD partition of drivers but nothing identified as an HID touch screen.   Brett

ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... My Lenovo solution center recently sent out a code saying my INTEL HD graphics were not up to date. After I updated it (to INTEL(R) Graphics 520) my touch screen stopped working. I looked to see if  my HID complient touch screen setting was turned off after the update, but I found that it no longer in my HDI tab. How do I get this back?

Hi,      I bought my Lenovo YOGA 530-14IKB 3 months back, it worked fine, but I started to notice that bottom right quarter of the touch screen is not working, It is working when screen is at exact 90 degrees in laptop mode but when I tilt the screen back by some 10-15 degrees the bottom right part of the touch screen is not working. The lenovo pen is working fine on this section of screen. Facing same issue in tablet mode also. I don't think this is software issue, maybe the connection at the  hinge got screwed up. The laptop is still under warranty. All the Drivers are up to date. Can I get a replacement if I go to service center or is this a software issue which can be solved ?

I got my laptop just a few weeks ago, and it came with Windows 10.  Soon afterwards the touch screen started not working, very similar to the posts about the USB device being powered down to save battery (you can find those posts, from Dec 2013 else on this site).
However, I'm on Windows10, with the recent large November public update applied.  In device manager there is no 'USB Input Device' listed under Human Interface Devices.
Further: the System's Settings->About panel the OS is reporting under "Pen and Touch" that "No pen or touch input is available for this display".
So, beyond USB power settings, it seems like I'm completely missing the device driver for the touch screen.
I have applied every driver, bios & firmware update that I can find on the Dell support site.  Nothing fixed things.
Any hints?  Am I looking for a display driver or an input driver or something else?

A:Dell XPS 15 (Model 9550) touch screen no longer working.

Same problem here, plus I see an “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)” in my device manager constantly appearing and disappearing. Also the touch does not work in the Diagnostic application you can enter via the bios. I don’t know if it should work there, on the 9530 Model it did…
I have the device now for about a week and I think Dell should again be deeply ashamed of what they deliver to their loyal customers.
With the 9530 model they refused to repair the coil whine problem a lot of people complained about. This was really annoying but at least I could work with the device.
The 9550 model has not two issues which really prevent me from doing my work.
As soon as you activate hyper-v the screen starts flickering and the display driver starts crashing.
Touchscreen not working.
We are talking about really expensive hardware here and it’s extremely frustrating when you experience more troubles with a 2.500$ Notebook than you do with 500$ hardware.
And on top of it all they told me today that they could not replace my display because Dell has no replacement parts on stock and they don’t know when they will get them. And that’s exactly what you get when you pay for “Next-Business-Day” “Pro” support.
If the device does not work at the end of the week I will send it back.

Win 10, was working for a long time. Sometime in the last few months it stopped. Haven't been able to get it going again.

In System information it says no Touch Input is available.

In Device Manager it shows if you select to show hidden devices, but it says it is not connected. I uninstalled this, but at some point it returned, but now I did uninstall again and it doesn't show.

Everything seems up to date.

Not to keen on doing system reset.

Any suggestion appreciated.

I work around the mouse by using an external mouse until magically one day it starts working again on my computer.  Regarding my touch screen, it just is not responsive.  any one else come up with a solution for this?

Hello. From recent Windows update I get this issue. Not sure if it's connected to Windows update or not, but the touch screen is not working anymore when touching with fingers! I'm on latest Windows update OS Build OS 17763.529 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4497934/windows-10-update-kb4497934). It's working fine with Lenovo Active Pen 2.  Tried everything on the Internet that I could find and nothing helped. Hello people! Shortly what has happened and what has been done. Machine arrived, not our companys common brand. Anyway, Well first action was to install windows 10(1607) from USB stick. Win 10 Enterprise clean. And plan was after that update the drivers. Yes and all partitions were cleaned during the installation. So no going back with those.  After installing everyhing. Touch screen is not working. I went trough the one topic that is located here on the page. Found the wacom firmware update package and updated all that was inside the package. Did use lenovo system update tool for updating everything imaginable there was. Also bios was update. At one point when I did the wacom firmware updates the PEN actually worked. But at that time the touch with finger didn't work. Well at that point I did continue updating and removing of devices/drivers and reinstalling. Well in the end I was again on the same situation that nothing on the "touch" screen works. Has anyone else had these experiences? I have started thinking that maybe there is actually some real malfunction on the touch screen.Last thing I have done is I tried to install the first release of windows 10 from usb. This came to state where it asks for country localization information and when I continue from there it just reboots and takes my back to that screen. So I'm in loop with that. I also strated to think about ordering the recovery media for the machine...but it would take time to ... Read more

I have a Yoga 11e and recently installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise on the device.  After installation the touch screen was no longer functoning at all.  I have downloaded every Chipset, Mouse and Key Board, Software and Utility driver found on the Lenavo website.  When i go to the device manager under Human Interface Devices I have two yellow triangles for I2C Device and when I click on Proerties they both tell me " This device is currently waiting on another device or set of devices to start. (Code 51)". I have installed the GPIO drvier from the lenavo website as per other posting about non-functioning touch screens.  This has not repaired the problem.  I need some assistance or a driver for the touchscreen.

Our Yoga has totally and completely stopped responding to touchscreen inputs. Completely out of the blue, no warning signs. Don't know if it was recently after a Win10 update. No other problems with the computer. I've tried updating all HID drivers through Device Manager with no success either. Any suggestions for what to check before we call it a hardware failure and try to either replace the screen or the laptop?

Hi, My screen suddenly stopped working as touch screen (it works in normal mode with the screen and the touchpad). The first times I restarted the computer several times until it worked, also to connect to the network seemed to help; however this time didn't do the trick. I used Lenovo Solution Center, and it didn't show any problem. I checked and updated the drivers in the Lenovo Yoga Mode Control and it seems I'm up-to-date. Now it doesn't want to change to tablet mode automatically anymore, neither to switch the screen to portrait. Thanks in advance for the help.

Use the NOVO button to boot into bios and see if it works, there. If so, it's probably a Windows issue. I'd bet it failed after your computer updated to Windows 10 ver 1803. If it works in BIOS but not in Windows, you can use System Restore to roll back the computer to a point where the touchscreen works and let it take the Windows Update, again. Use Lenovo Vantage to make sure all your drivers and BIOS are up to date.

My touch screen is not working at all, I have not done annything to damage it and it seems like a driver problem because my pen still woks, but not perfectly. The pen is laging when I use it in the senter of the screen and jumps a lot, but when it is at the sides or top/botom it works perfectly. I have updated the drivers for them but the problem is still there, pleace help

Hi, Since installing Windows 10, I am unable to use any functions of the touch screen.  I had a lot of trouble with the mouse pad not deactivating with the button (as I use a plug in mouse most of the time) but I managed to sort that by uninstalling the driver and reinstalling direct from Lenovo. However, the touch screen is making me come to my wits end.  I just cannot for the life of me sort it.  Windows tell me that "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display" Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have a Yoga 530-14IKB Laptop (ideapad) - Type 81EK , the screen is normal HD resolution, not Full HD.The touch screen does not work right from the box. After a replacement, the same problem persist, Lenovo support and Lencare took forever and still unable to solve the problem after 3 months. Is there any known issue with this model ? It is very frsutrating talking to support or Lencare sometimes. KS

I have had my Yoga 720 12-IKB for just over a year. A couple of weeks ago the touch screen suddenly stopped working - I can't think of any changes that have happened to cause this. I have tried updating windows, updating the drivers, troubleshooting and resetting my PC. I have also disabled and enabled the HID-compliant touch screen in device management. I have also tried the holding down the power button for a minute. It is also worth noting that the same happened to my finger print reader, and all I had to do was turn the reader off and on again in settings. I was wondering if anybody has had the same issue and whether there might be a solution? I am reluctant to think it is a hardware issue as neither lenovo or windows troubleshooting bring up a hardware issue. Thanks

Hello, I recently upgraded the mechanical hard drive that came with my Yoga 11E to an ssd. I ran Lenovo system update and then Windows Update. But the touchscreen is not working. Under device manager there are a few exclamation points. Under Human Interface Devices there are 2 entries for I2C HID both have a warning. I tried to update them but it says they driver is update and the exclamation point remains. I am not sure if this is the reason why my touch screen is not working but any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I am having the same problem. After reimaging, touch screen is not responding. I too checked device manager and found there are 2 human interface device drivers with exclamation points, named I2c HID. A search found Intel device drivers on Lenovo support site and  I downloaded and installed the drivers (n15hc03w.exe). The status of the drivers on device manager did not change. I tried to update these drivers and pointed to the local folder drivers\win\I2C onbut got a message saying "drivers for device are up to date' . Tried 'scan for hardware' still no change to these Human Interface Device. Any ideas?

Hi, I have recently (Dec 2015) purchased a Yoga 11e. The touch screen function has stopped working. Both Windows 10 and Lenovo Support apps say that all updates are in place. I suspect that a Windows update (~31 Jan 2016) might be the fault - could be wrong. Any ideas? Thanks. ps: I tad annoying the the "worlds biggest computer company" (or similar publicity claim) does not have a 24/7 web chat support function

I had the same problem.  After performing a clean-install of Windows 10 Pro (Did not like all that blotware that Lenovo puts in these systems) and "thinking" that I had installed all drivers, I found that touchscreen did not work.  I solved it by RE-installing the i2c drivers (downloaded from Yoga 11e support page).  It was confusing because there was nothing in Device Manager that indicated any drivers were missing, plus when I ran the .exe file for the i2c drivers all it did was "extract" the files, but it did not install anything!So here is how I went about it:  Opened device manager, clicked on "system devices" to locate the i2c device.  I looked for anything with "i2c" in it, and saw 2 entries: "Intel Atom Celeron Pentium Processor............i2c........[etc, etc]".  I went ahead and manually installed the drivers: right-clicked the item, clidked "update driver software", clidked "browse my computer for driver software", and navigated to where the driver files had been extracted to-as explained above.  After the drivers were installed successfully, the names of the devices changed to "i2c controller".  Rebooted the computer and VOILA! The touch screen worked again! Opened "control panel", "system" and there it said: "Touch Support With 10 Touch Points"

I've had no problems with my yoga 2 pro for over a month, but last night I decided to do windows updates.  This is the model with the i7, and 8gb of ram.  I let it update and then restarted it.  After it started up, I tried to swipe the cover screen up, but nothing was happening.  I then decided to use the mouse, and soon realized that the touch screen was unresponsive.  I've tried to restore the computer to before the updates, but it hasn't fixed the problem.  I can still switch to tablet and stand mode, etc. and the screen will rotate, but I can not get the touch screen to respond to anything.  I tried to install some drivers, but none of them are for the touch screen as far as I know, and nothing else seems to work.  Does anyone know a fix, or maybe know of a driver I need to install?

Try refreshing Windows which fixes 90% of OS issues. Swipe from the right (Charm bar), Settings, Change PC settings, Update and Recovery, Recovery and choose Refresh Windows.

My X1 Yoga's touch screen is not being detected by Windows. I tried running the Wacom firmware update tools suggested by other threads but they don't work -- the log file just says "No device". I have a few month old Yoga 4th Gen and have noticed the touch screen no longer works with my finger. The pen does seem to work. I've tried reinstalling touch drivers, disabling/re-enabiling the device, re-calibrating the touch display, and reinstalling Windows. Has anyone ran into this issue, or have a fix idea?Not to keen on sending it away for a fix if there is something I can do at home.

Yoga Pro 3 1370 This is an old laptop that I've had laying around. The battery went dead a few years ago and I chose to upgrade. I recently decided to sell it so I purchased a new battery. Everything works perfectly. However, there is a black screen.No Lenovo logo on boot up.Cannot get into the BIOS menu and the screen display.There is absolutely no picture. After reading I tried an external display and discovered the laptop works as well as the touch screen. I wondered if it was a software issue but when I tried to reset the laptop I receive the following message: "There was an issue resetting your PC. Nothing has been changed."This happens when I try to rest from the settings, the recovery button, and the advanced startup menu.I'm sure I could replace the LCD but is it really necessary to do so because the touch screen works?I'm not an expert by any means so my apologies if any of this sounded ignorant. Any advice or suggestions will help!Thanks in advance.

I see that multiple people have had the same issue with their touch screen not working. I have had this issue on my Yoga 720-12IKB Laptop (ideapad) - Type 81B5 for several months and tried multiple things. My computer is completely uptodate.   I've spent hours reading posts/forums, trying different things, nothing works, and I am completely frustrated.  Any one found a solution yet?

I purchased this computer in February and I've already had to take it in to get serviced because it stopped turning on. Now the pen and touchscreen have stopped working. Is there something I can do to fix it or would I need to take it in again?

A:Thinkpad 1x yoga touch screen and pen not working

What operating system?  Look in the device manager and see if there are problem devices

Hi everyone, I've been searching for the solution for this one by Google-ing many many articles on the Internet, I tried all of them but all failed. My 12IKB currently runs the Windows 10 Home version 1809, I also installed all latest drivers on Lenovo support page (here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-720-12ikb/download...) but the touch screen still doesn't work. Back when the first time I brought it home from the store, it worked but after installing windows update, touch screen didn't work anymore. Some articles told that the issue came from incompatible BIOS with the new windows update. I've noticed that Lenovo just released the new BIOS, I installed but nothing changed. So, could anyone please help me on this?

My touchscreen is not working and hasn't done so for some time. The screen resolution is  1920-1080 and the monitor ID is AUO226D. Is anyone able to assist in finding the correct firmware I need to update or any other solution PLEASE?Jade

 I bought my Yoga 530 less than a year ago.It used to work fine but every now and then a wild windows update appears and I lose the touch screen function. I have to go to a previous update every time to recover it, I've found no other way to solve it.This morning another update came in and as usual, I lost the touch screen. I tried to recover it, but it failed in the process so I've been forced to do a full recovery. After that, the touch screen is still not working. I tried to disable/enable the driver. There is no driver. I tried to update the laptop and the drivers via lenovo vantage, apparently it's perfectly updated. I tried with the web and the LSB. Nothing. I tried to reboot in safe mode. More nothing. After all my struggle I tried a factory reset. And still nothing. Basically it says that the screen is incompatible with the touch mode and the stylo which obviously isn't true.I've quite literaly tried every single solution I've found in the forums and I still have no real answer. The only thing remaining is to ask for a replacement.
