Preferred Solution: laptop stopped streaming movies

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have been reading lately about the rise of a new technology which enables S.Ps to send movies etc to its customers' PC so they can view it on their TV. I think iinet's Netflix is one. Can you please tell me how this works and what is required to achieve this?

A:Solved: Streaming movies to PC

I have netflix and there area a lot of good movies in there (except for the new releaseses). You have to pay monthly by using a credit card and they charge you depending on how many computers or TV's you want to watch them on. I have for 4 computers and I only pay approx 11 dollars per month. All you need is a good internet connection speed.

When I watch streaming movies the sound levels are uneven. In order to hear the talking part of the movie I have to max the sound level, but then when music or action sound Fx appear the sound is way too loud. The voice level even at max is barely adequate - if an actor whispers even at max sound level it is barely audible. It is frustrating to have to constantly turn the sound volume up and down to watch the movie. I originally had this problem even playing commercial DVD's but solved it by downloading a player with decent audio controls. My VLC player as a "sound leveling" control that solved the problem. Is there anyway to fix this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

i have a compaq presario cq60-206us notebook pc with windows vista and have netflix but everytime i try to watch a movie on netflix it lags really bad and you hear the words before you see the actions on the screen. could you please tell me what my problem may be

A:Solved: problem streaming movies on netflix

Here is the support site for the Compaq Presario CQ60-206US (ZY222UA#ABA) laptop.

You should add and save this site in your browser's favorites/bookmarks list so you can quickly refer to it when needed.

That laptop comes with 2 GB of RAM, but it supports up to 4 GB of RAM.

Its integrated graphics device uses up to 895 MB of that 2 GB of RAM, so that leaves a little over 1 GB of RAM for Windows Vista and its associated programs to run.

That in itself will cause that laptop to run slow or bog down, depending on what you're doing with it.

Unless you've already done it, you need to max it out with 4 GB of RAM.

We don't know what's installed in that laptop and how you use it, so there may be other reasons for the slowness and bogging down.

It may take some time to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.

I think is related to Teamviewer or streaming, i cannot get the finger on it. BSOD is rare but seem to fit with Teamviewer session.

I got 2 BSOD within one hour, one at 2013-12-30 20:26 and another one at 2013-12-30 21:54.

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it .

It is some unnecessary network blockage by BitDefender.

Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Suddenly I can no longer watch movies. Games play, cds play, audio fine. But I put in a movie and it's like there's no disc here. We've watched movies on it for over a year, so I checked multiple movies that once worked. I've followed the troubleshooting, tried to update driver. The wizard could find no better driver than what is already being used. I DO NOT get an error message. I just don't get anything to show up either under My Computer or in Media Center or Media player. This stumps me. I read somewhere "Security Update for Windows Media Player 6.4 (KB925398)" was a problem but I even went to add/remove programs and couldn't find that particular update, so I couldn't uninstall that. I have a gateway with a tsstcorp dvd +_ rw mlti format double layer drive and Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Hello all!

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. From one day upon another, BBC iPlayer and 4OD stopped working (I'm in the UK), some online video content works fine and some doesn't and some online radio stations falter too.

This is on a PC Sony Vaio running Windows 7/ 64 - nothing else seems to be wrong, although I did get a blue screen which lead to a crash a few days ago. Trying other browsers doesn't help, not does a PC cleanup so far.

Any ideas welcome!

So, seemingly out of the blue, my DMS 2100 extenders no longer play Live TV or Recorded TV from my Silicone Dust Home Run PRIME tuner. I am able to play TV shows from my OTA tuner, just not from the PRIME turner. I get the following message:

Video can not be played.  The format used for this video is not supported on this Media Center Extender.  To view this video, play it directly on your PC.

I'd guess this is something with MS DRM -- but, I wouldn't know what.  I'm running Win 7 Home and everything worked fine until about a week or so ago. I've tried other Extenders and even tried them attached to my other WMC PC.  No luck in
getting PRIME Live TV again.
Any thoughts?

Lately, for no explain-able reason, whenever I play a movie every 5-15 minutes I get a glitch with the picture getting stuck, audio replaying itself for a few seconds, screen turns black and everything goes back to normal, with a pop-up appearing informing me that my graphic kernel was shut down and has been restored.
I have attempted updating graphics driver (using the 310.64 nvidia beta one, after the latest didn't solve it), updated windows to latest version, and followed advices given on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2665946 with no effect.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? It has occured to me while playing movies in SMPlayer, as well as in streaming online media.

A:"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error while playing movies

Typically the cause of a video driver glitch which can resolved by upgrading or downgrading the video drivers. I've also seen it caused by a specific app. In which case, updating the app or using a different app resolves the problem.

A:laptop to play HD movies

HULU? lol

yes I think that that would stream in HD but I would suggest at least 8 Mega Bits per second down stream internet for HD streaming, else you will end up buffering every 10 seconds. If you can't get 8megs, 4 megs will run but you may have to buffer after every break.

I have a laptop with movies that I would like to watch on my television. My TV is a Sony Bravia KDL-46S2000. It has a VGA slot in the back of the TV and the TV's maximum resolution is 1080i.

After I connect the VGA cable from the laptop to the television, what do I do? I dont see anything.

-Thanks in advance

A:use my tv to watch movies from my laptop...

on the laptop you need to send the signal to the VGA port
to do that usually on laptops you need to press the FN key and then F4 {but the F key may be different - look for a figure like a TV}
each time you press it it will toggle between three setting {not necessarily in this order}
1) Laptop screen only
2) laptop and VGA Port
3) VGA port only

you will also need to link the sound - so a jack plug 2.5mm or 3.5mm depends on what your headphone socket on laptop is - to what ever audio inputs you have TV - probably Phono RCA - coloured red and white for left and right channel

A:Watching movies from laptop to tv

It all depends on what kind(s) of video and audio outputs you have on the laptop and what kind(s) of video and audio inputs you have on the TV.

EDIT: As for showing different things on each screen, that would depend on if your laptop supports dual monitor mode with different information on each screen. Then it would be a matter of how easy it might be to have the DVD player software run in full screen mode on one display.

Ok, I have a Toshiba DvD-rom SD-C2502 in my laptop and is skipping all the dvds I play, the skipping is ramdomly and sometimes it skips with audio. I load the disk and after 3 to 5 minutes it starts skipping all the time, and this is on every single movie I try to play. DMA is enabled so I guess that is not it. Is it a problem w/ the soundcard or the videocard configuration (I have an Ati radeon 7500)? I tried cleaning the lens and it didn't worked, I also loaded the movies to different programs like WMP, and WinDVD, but that didn't worked either. Can someone help me with this, I am extremely desperate, please help!

A:Help with laptop DVD-drive, is skipping all the movies!

Has this always done this or is this something that has just recently started? Do you have DMA enabled on this drive? Check the properties of the drive in the device manager to find out. If it is not enabled, enable it. If it is enabled you just might have a bad drive. I know that Toshiba does not require any kind of special driver for windoze.

I hooked my laptop up to my Plasma TV via S-video and for the sound, RCA to headphone jack. It works fairly well, but with two issues:

1) The video input is bigger than the TV screen. To explain, when I see my desktop on the TV screen and I move the cursor to the far edges of the screen, the screen scrolls a little bit. The movies play, but they are cropped on the sides. Where or how can I adjust this to make the input from the computer fit the TV screen?

2) The sound is muffled. I don't have a receiver hooked up yet and I tinkered with the sound adjustments in the movie player and on the laptop, but I can't figure out how to make it better. Any ideas?
