Best software to recover OE6 deleted e-mails?

Q: Best software to recover OE6 deleted e-mails?

I need to to recover several hundred deleted messages in OE6 on a co-worker's computer (running Windows XP Pro). The messages have been permanently deleted but the Deleted folder does not appear to have been compacted. When I checked the Deleted items folder, it only showed about 5 recent e-mail messages. I located the Deleted items DBX file and it was over 450 MB in size. I have made a copy of the DBX file just in case the person decides to click "Yes" when OE asks if they want to compact folders.

A Google search finds a lot of paid applications and many offer a free demo mode of the program. Rather than try a bunch of free demos to decide which one to purchase, I would like to find out if anyone here can recommend any particular program. The person deleted whole folders of messages and it would be a big plus if the software could also recover the folder structure.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm looking for a way to recover deleted e-mails from multiple brands of e-mail programs, Outlook Express, Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora, etc., etc. To be clear, I do not need to recover deleted files; I want to recover deleted mails, deleted by accident or on purpose.

Also, if there is a web site that deals with this subject, I would appreciate a link.

A free program that would do this would be always nice; but, if there isn't a really good free one, I would appreciate some information/evaluations from people who have actually used the software or some links to evaluations done by professional users or reviewers.

Hi everybody,

I have a big problem, well when trying to make some free spaces on my computer I've deleted all my emails (using incredimail software) and unemptied my bin, I would be most grateful to everybody who can help to recover my mails, please help me as it is the office computer and I will have big problem with my boss if I could get back these emails.

Many thanks for your help

A:Recover deleted mails

Sorry, you're out of luck

Didn't the "incredimail software" have warnings before you deleted your emails? If it did NOT, uninstall that software, it's unsafe.

You do not state what email client you use, unless it IS "incredimail." If it is Outlook 2002 or 2003, download and use the Microsoft Outlook PST Backup Utility.

It will add Backup to Outlook's File menu.

The backup will run after closing Outlook (you cannot backup PSTs while in-use).

The backup interface allows you to set a backup filename (if you don't want default), and location (path). For path I highly suggest you not use defaults, put your PST backups in a separate location like My Documents, or (better) on another HD. WARNING - you must specify filenames (optional) and paths for each PST, you should have an Outlook.pst & Archive.pst if you do archive your emails.

The backup interface also allows you to schedule when to backup, and the dialog will open on Outlook exit, on schedule. At work I set every 3-days.

At home I do not use MS Office but since I image my D:\APPS05 drive (includes my email client) every month, I can recover from that.

I've signed up to this site just for this issue which I've had for over a year. Here are the details:

Samsung laptop RF511
While I was cleaning out all the extra programs the laptop came with, I accidentally deleted something that was crucial for my disk reader. Whenever I pop in any data disk or movie, the computer struggles for a few minutes then gives up, as if nothing has been inserted. Oddly enough... I don't believe this always happens with music CDs. The computer also hasn't be able to let me burn anything on a blank disk. I often receive the "Please insert a blank disk" message, when one is already inserted.

This is getting really frustrating since I have a lot of data to backup and absolutely need help! I'm not a programmer and would need thorough explanation and a walk-through for this please.

I went to the Samsung website and looked at what might be missing (had no idea what I was doing...) I downloaded something called the BIOS updater, which did nothing unfortunately.

Please let me know if something sounds familiar and how I might be able to replace this bloody program I foolishly deleted!
Thanks a million.

EDIT:

I don't think I was clear enough in my explanation.... I don't require a program to copy/read/burn. The problem is the laptop itself. It does not recognize any disk I inset. Nothing pops up on my E: drive....

Install a CD/DVD burning program and it may correct the fault. Also Windows builtin burning is not the cleverest of tools.

Hello friends!

I am on Win XP using Outlook Express to access my emails. Today I accidently deleted all my sent mails and then compacted all folders thereby automatically deleting the backup of sent mail also. As those mails are of high importance to me, is there a way to download all those mails from the gmail server.

Please note that I want to download just the sent mails from the gmail server and not all mails from inbox also.

Please help. Its very important and urgent

A:Recover Sent Mails from Gmail Server?

Probably not if you didn't have a setting to leave a copy on the server. Also, depending on your settings, there may be copies in the "Sent" folder at Gmail.

If you had Windows 7, you would have had shadow copies of the mail. You may possibly be able to recover the deleted ones if you stop using the machine immediately so they are not overwritten and use recovery software.

Recently I had been repeatedly getting pop-up windows asking if I wanted to compact e-mail folders in order to save space. Each time I would simply close this box and continue what I had been doing. Last night I thought I X'd out of the box again, only to notice that the compacting process had begun. At that point I let it continue and went to bed. At that time I had 200 unread e-mails in my Inbox

This morning I went back to my PC and immediately noticed that I had only 61 unread messages in my Inbox. At first, I couldn't understand how I could've lost all those messages. Then I suddenly remembered the compacting process and figured out that that was the source of my problem.

Today I've been doing research and trying some things, but I still haven't been able to recover everything. In fact, as I was trying one thing and another I noticed that all of my Outlook Express Local Folders, all of a sudden, were completely empty! In other words, the remaining files from this morning are also gone. I am mainly concerned about the contents of my Inbox, which this morning had been missing all e-mails between August 15th and August 30th.

I had been running two programs, DBXtract.exe and Macallan Outook Express Extraction, but wasn't able to follow their instructions all the way through. On my Desktop I currently have a Macallan OEE icon which opens into a large, lined window with columns. Also on my Desktop is an icon for a folder I created and named &q... Read more

If you kept the data on the HD, try doing a search for .pst files. When you find the correct one, target Outlook to open that .pst file, and you should be all set.

A:Deleted e-mails

Your mail is stored on your mail server, of which you are a client. Unless you're using a mailer server like outlook for instance, where your mail program fetches mail from a server to your drive and you access it from there. When mail is deleted on your computer using outlook, it goes to the "deleted items" folder. If using a server such as Yahoo, it goes to the "trash" where it can be deleted by the server at any time. Happy hunting.

I have sometimes deleted an email address from Microsoft Outlook when a friend informs me that they have a new email address. However, when I attempt to send an email thereafter to that person--I am presented with a box which requires me to choose an email address--and it presents the old, deleted email address and the new one I have entered. Sometimes I have forgotten which is the new email address--so--is there anyway to permanently remove an email address, so that I am not presented with the 2 options each time?

A:E-Mails--Deleted Addresses

You are talking about the auto-complete feature of Outlook. You can remove entries from this list. When you are presented with the list of addresses to choose from use the up\down arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight the address you no longer want. Once that address is highlighted press the "delete" key on the keyboard and the address will be permanently removed.

I need to recover deleted IE history and have scoured all different sources for recovery and im starting to doubt whether or not it is possible.

What I know wont work:

System Restore- The history was deleted between restore points, and the restore points on either side of it being deleted dont have the relevant history

What I've tried:

Index.dat readers. This is what I'm confused about, everywhere I go say this file holds all IE history unless its been altered, but from everything I've actually tried it seems all the index files I can find just hold information I can pretty readily access already.

So I'm willing to try any suggestions, and also if anyone has a little more info on index.dat that would change what I've found out myself it would also be greatly appreciated.

Today I deleted sixteen files that I needed - they weren't sent to the recycle bin as I usually hold down shift and delete together so I don't have to empty the recycle bin often. I know there are many file recovery programs available that you have to pay for, but as I only need to recover around 16 files I was wondering if any of you knew about a deleted file recovery program which was free, even if it was for a limited time. I tried downloading some demos but they either only allowed small files to be recovered or didn't let you recover any files without paying.

The files I deleted were no more than 100k/b, and I use Windows 98 SE. Anybody know of any recover deleted file programs that would help me?

A:recover my deleted photos, help

If the photos were never transferred to the computer and were deleted directly from the memory card, there's absolutely no way you can recover it, not that you've lost it. Sorry. If they were deleted from the hard drive, you could try using a program like Recuva or Restoration (both free) to recover them. But you cannot afford to waste time before you do that. There are a lot of free programs that recover it from the memory card too (maybe Restoration and Recuva do that too), but you need to have the card to do that.

Hi Guys,

I have two HDs, 80 Gig primary and 120 gig secondary. I had win xp installed and running off the 80 gig and I backed up all my files onto the 120 gig. I then decided to format the 80 gig drive

I used a win 98 boot disk and formatted the 80 gig hd. then I started the win xp cd and it asked which partition I would like to choose. I chose the partitioned 120 gig drive not realizing what I had done. I confirmed the partition removal and then realized what I did. So I start flipping out and I restart my comp

I looked for my files and 120 gig drive but it was gone. I'm really going crazy. So I researched a little and I have two utilities on disk (mbrwork and testdisk) I started to run mbrwork and it has been searching for recoverable partitions for the past 2 hours. I don't know what to do and I really need the files on the 120 gig HD. I didn't install windows and I haven't done anything other than run the utility. Can someone please help me. I don't know what I'll do if I can't get my files back.

Today I noticed that My Documents folder was duplicated within the My pictures folder ... checked original still there - and then deleted what I thought was dup ... and both folder now gone.

I run RECUVA and saved all deleted files to separate HDD so they are at least safe.
Could not see option in RECUVA to actually recover a folder & its file structure.

However it would take long time to recreate structure & copy back.

I understand W7 has a feature in it to recover a deleted folder ... I looked at info and it seemed to say select folder and the right click ............. can't do that as folder no longer shows.

Is there a neat way to recover folder none of the files will have been overwritten.

Do you have system restore enabled? If so you can mount the system restore point and browse it to copy your documents folder back to where it should be. You'll only lose any cahnges that were made to it since the last system restore point before the folder was deleted was created. Let us know as there are a couple of free softwares that can recover folders using this method.

Windows XP w/SP2. I do not use Outlook Express. My e-mail is through my ISP, wmconnect.

PROBLEM: 2 or 3 weeks ago I got a reply to a problem from Nero. It was fairly simple and solved the problem. Then I had to re-install Windows XP and the problem returned, but I had lost the e-mail. And stupid me did not write down the steps that solved the problem. Another e-mail to Nero was answered by a different person who complicated the situation; sent a file I can't open, etc., etc., etc. Apparently Nero is in Germany and English may not be clear to him (her?). Back and forth e-mails have not helped.

Now, I wonder if it is possible to restore that deleted e-mail. Wmconnect, my ISP, says it is impossible, but we constantly hear of investigations involving e-mails recovered from months and even years before, so there must be some way to do it. Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Dick

As you probably know, wmconnect is AOL related. Their emails are on their servers. So if you deleted it, then it cannot be recovered.

A possible solution.
Chances are not too good if the solution is something unique only to wmconnect or AOL. But you could post the exact problem here and maybe someone will have an answer.

I accidentally deleted my portable hard drive volume when messing around with Disk Management on Windows 7. The hard drive is formatted using FAT32 and is about 120GB. Is there any way to recover it? I have all media and some important documents in there. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

You can use the undelete option in a 3rd party partition manager. As long as you haven't attempted to change that partition in any way other than delete it, should work fine.

If you have a partition Manager - see if it has that option. Post back and let me know.

Hi-

I accidentally started to install a new version of XP Home on an existing partition that had a good working XP home on it. I got to the point on the install where it highlighted the good partition and I hit "L" to erase it. At that point I stopped and tried a repair from the XP Home disk but no luck. Since it didn't overwrite it (probably just erased some pointers) is there any way to get back the good partition/OS that was on this disk?

Thanks

Hi all,

I deleted my Outlook .pst files and I need to recover; i purchased PC Tools data recovery program but it's not working for me.

At my work place we work on a roaming profile; i had problems loading my profile this morning and what i normally do is reload my profile by deleting my profile and then restarting my machine. I've done this before with no problems but this time it deleted my .pst file. Is there something else I can do to recover or get my .pst file back?

Thank you in advance.
