Best software to recover OE6 deleted e-mails?

Q: Best software to recover OE6 deleted e-mails?

I need to to recover several hundred deleted messages in OE6 on a co-worker's computer (running Windows XP Pro). The messages have been permanently deleted but the Deleted folder does not appear to have been compacted. When I checked the Deleted items folder, it only showed about 5 recent e-mail messages. I located the Deleted items DBX file and it was over 450 MB in size. I have made a copy of the DBX file just in case the person decides to click "Yes" when OE asks if they want to compact folders.

A Google search finds a lot of paid applications and many offer a free demo mode of the program. Rather than try a bunch of free demos to decide which one to purchase, I would like to find out if anyone here can recommend any particular program. The person deleted whole folders of messages and it would be a big plus if the software could also recover the folder structure.

Preferred Solution: Best software to recover OE6 deleted e-mails?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm looking for a way to recover deleted e-mails from multiple brands of e-mail programs, Outlook Express, Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora, etc., etc. To be clear, I do not need to recover deleted files; I want to recover deleted mails, deleted by accident or on purpose.

Also, if there is a web site that deals with this subject, I would appreciate a link.

A free program that would do this would be always nice; but, if there isn't a really good free one, I would appreciate some information/evaluations from people who have actually used the software or some links to evaluations done by professional users or reviewers.

Hi everybody,

I have a big problem, well when trying to make some free spaces on my computer I've deleted all my emails (using incredimail software) and unemptied my bin, I would be most grateful to everybody who can help to recover my mails, please help me as it is the office computer and I will have big problem with my boss if I could get back these emails.

Many thanks for your help

A:Recover deleted mails

Sorry, you're out of luck

Didn't the "incredimail software" have warnings before you deleted your emails? If it did NOT, uninstall that software, it's unsafe.

You do not state what email client you use, unless it IS "incredimail." If it is Outlook 2002 or 2003, download and use the Microsoft Outlook PST Backup Utility.

It will add Backup to Outlook's File menu.

The backup will run after closing Outlook (you cannot backup PSTs while in-use).

The backup interface allows you to set a backup filename (if you don't want default), and location (path). For path I highly suggest you not use defaults, put your PST backups in a separate location like My Documents, or (better) on another HD. WARNING - you must specify filenames (optional) and paths for each PST, you should have an Outlook.pst & Archive.pst if you do archive your emails.

The backup interface also allows you to schedule when to backup, and the dialog will open on Outlook exit, on schedule. At work I set every 3-days.

At home I do not use MS Office but since I image my D:\APPS05 drive (includes my email client) every month, I can recover from that.

I've signed up to this site just for this issue which I've had for over a year. Here are the details:

Samsung laptop RF511
While I was cleaning out all the extra programs the laptop came with, I accidentally deleted something that was crucial for my disk reader. Whenever I pop in any data disk or movie, the computer struggles for a few minutes then gives up, as if nothing has been inserted. Oddly enough... I don't believe this always happens with music CDs. The computer also hasn't be able to let me burn anything on a blank disk. I often receive the "Please insert a blank disk" message, when one is already inserted.

This is getting really frustrating since I have a lot of data to backup and absolutely need help! I'm not a programmer and would need thorough explanation and a walk-through for this please.

I went to the Samsung website and looked at what might be missing (had no idea what I was doing...) I downloaded something called the BIOS updater, which did nothing unfortunately.

Please let me know if something sounds familiar and how I might be able to replace this bloody program I foolishly deleted!
Thanks a million.

Now this is just a guess that may save you a full re-install.
Install a CD/DVD burning program and it may correct the fault. Also Windows builtin burning is not the cleverest of tools.

Hello friends!

I am on Win XP using Outlook Express to access my emails. Today I accidently deleted all my sent mails and then compacted all folders thereby automatically deleting the backup of sent mail also. As those mails are of high importance to me, is there a way to download all those mails from the gmail server.

Please note that I want to download just the sent mails from the gmail server and not all mails from inbox also.

Please help. Its very important and urgent

A:Recover Sent Mails from Gmail Server?

Probably not if you didn't have a setting to leave a copy on the server. Also, depending on your settings, there may be copies in the "Sent" folder at Gmail.

If you had Windows 7, you would have had shadow copies of the mail. You may possibly be able to recover the deleted ones if you stop using the machine immediately so they are not overwritten and use recovery software.

If you kept the data on the HD, try doing a search for .pst files. When you find the correct one, target Outlook to open that .pst file, and you should be all set.

Recently I had been repeatedly getting pop-up windows asking if I wanted to compact e-mail folders in order to save space. Each time I would simply close this box and continue what I had been doing. Last night I thought I X'd out of the box again, only to notice that the compacting process had begun. At that point I let it continue and went to bed. At that time I had 200 unread e-mails in my Inbox

This morning I went back to my PC and immediately noticed that I had only 61 unread messages in my Inbox. At first, I couldn't understand how I could've lost all those messages. Then I suddenly remembered the compacting process and figured out that that was the source of my problem.

Today I've been doing research and trying some things, but I still haven't been able to recover everything. In fact, as I was trying one thing and another I noticed that all of my Outlook Express Local Folders, all of a sudden, were completely empty! In other words, the remaining files from this morning are also gone. I am mainly concerned about the contents of my Inbox, which this morning had been missing all e-mails between August 15th and August 30th.

I had been running two programs, DBXtract.exe and Macallan Outook Express Extraction, but wasn't able to follow their instructions all the way through. On my Desktop I currently have a Macallan OEE icon which opens into a large, lined window with columns. Also on my Desktop is an icon for a folder I created and named &q... Read more

Your mail is stored on your mail server, of which you are a client. Unless you're using a mailer server like outlook for instance, where your mail program fetches mail from a server to your drive and you access it from there. When mail is deleted on your computer using outlook, it goes to the "deleted items" folder. If using a server such as Yahoo, it goes to the "trash" where it can be deleted by the server at any time. Happy hunting.

I have sometimes deleted an email address from Microsoft Outlook when a friend informs me that they have a new email address. However, when I attempt to send an email thereafter to that person--I am presented with a box which requires me to choose an email address--and it presents the old, deleted email address and the new one I have entered. Sometimes I have forgotten which is the new email address--so--is there anyway to permanently remove an email address, so that I am not presented with the 2 options each time?

A:E-Mails--Deleted Addresses

You are talking about the auto-complete feature of Outlook. You can remove entries from this list. When you are presented with the list of addresses to choose from use the up\down arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight the address you no longer want. Once that address is highlighted press the "delete" key on the keyboard and the address will be permanently removed.

Hi All,
I accidentally lost all the pictures from my desktop and I am unable to recover them. This is what happened;
1. Created a folder under C: and gave it a name
2. I cut photos from the SD card and pasted them in to this new folder
3. Disconnected the SD card and removed it from the slot
4. I was then in the process of copying a movie file from the harddisk to a pen drive and that was when my 1 year old (whom I was carrying while doing the copy) banged on the laptop keyboard
5. The movie file got deleted from the folder and I couldn't find it in recycle bin too
6. Then I started doing "REDO" until I got the movie file back
7. Only to realize that the photos I previously copied were not there anymore in the new folder I created and the folder's name had changed back to "New Folder" (Basically the Folder name and the copy of the photos operation was undone :( )
I have tried a few recovery softwares both on the SD card and harddisk but no luck :( I lost around 200 photos and invaluable memories of a family trip

Any kind of help would be really appreciated

Thanks in advance,
Raghu

A:Recover Deleted Pictures

Hi Raghu,

Please understand that it is hard for us to retrieve deleted files.

However, I would like to provide the following suggestions for test:

Suggestion 1 System Restore
===================
1. Before you start, please close all open files and close all open programs.
2. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and click System Restore.
3. Select "Choose a different restore point" and click Next.
4. From the restore points available, select an appropriate restore point when your system was working correctly and click "Next".
5. Click Finish and System Restore will restart the computer to apply these changes.

After restarting, check whether your system functions correctly now. If not, you can undo your last restoration or select another restore point in the System Restore user interface.

Note: System Restore affects Windows system files, programs, and registry settings. It also can make changes to scripts, batch files, and other types of executable files on your computer.
It does not affect personal files, such as e mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file.

Suggestion 2 Restore to Previous Versions
===========================
1. Right-click the folder that contains the photos you deleted and click Properties.
2. On the Previous Versions tab, choose a folder before you deleted the photos and click Restore.

I downloaded Recuva software to recover deleted videos and was able to recover some but when I tried to open them with window media player, it gave me an error message that says: Windows Media Player can not play the file. The Player mightnot support the file type or might not support the codec that was used tocompress the file. I can’t play it with real player too.

Thevideos were made by Sony camcorder between 2007 and 2009, unfortunately I don’t know the camcorder model to down load the software that came with it.
I would really appreciate any help

I have inadvertantly deleted a personal file (containing data and pictures files) from my laptop.I tried to use recovery programs to recover at least the pictures. I have recovered some of the files containing the pictures, but cannot open these pictures . When trying to open each picture (of the recovered ones) I've got the following note:"Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, ot its format is not currently supported"I checked the System Restore and found that a restore point is available to the date prior the delete. Can System Restore recover the deleted file?Note: The file was installed on the Desktop (before being deleted).I am using Windows XP ProThanks for your assitance.

The restore point may work for you, or it may not. Persoanlly, that's a tough call, because you risk erasing the deleted version where you can't retrieve it, and you risk the possibility that the restore point won't work, and at the same time, erased any possible chance of you recovering what was accidentally deleted. If possible, the best way you is to hook the hard drive in question to another computer as the slave. And then use the other computer to get the data off, because you stand the risk of that sector of the hard drive to be over-written with data if you add/install a program to the computer. It's not always true.. but that risk still exists. If you don't have access to another computer then you'll want to use a few FREE ones that are out there. Look in the Commercial FREEWare forum here on this site. Sorry, I forget the link right off hand. But whatever you do, don't keep deleting and (or) modifying the hard drive if you want your data back. By all means, just download what you need, and do as less installing/deleting on that computer as possible. And then again, if you feel that the Restore Point will bring back the data, then all I can say is go for it. But remember to weigh out your odds, no matter which route you take.a. connect the hard drive to another computer, and do it that way (safest known method)b. install a program(s) on the computer in question, and run it from there (risk/a workable method)c. Use the Windows Restore Point (ris... Read more

Hello,

I accidentally deleted a folder that has many files in my portable drive. They are not in the recycle bin as I set it for immediately deletion. So I purchased a data recovery program online and it found the deleted files. When I restored and opened the files, they were corrupted. Is there a reliable program that can recover the files efficiently? The Internet has so many programs and I don't know which to pick.

Many thanks.

A:How do I recover deleted files?

Has anything been copied onto the drive since the deletion? If it has, the locations where the deleted files were may have been overwritten by new files. If this has happened, recovered files will be corrupt, and no recovery software will be able to recover them correctly.

If nothing has been transferred to the drive since the folder was deleted, then it's a disappointment that paid software fails to recover them. Well-regarded recovery programs include Recuva, PcInspector and GetDataBack (paid). Other posters may have other recommendations from their experience.

GetDataBack is the best data recovery software I've found so far. Very easy to use, very effective.
