Error 1935: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Install

Q: Error 1935: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Install

I was trying to install Visual Studio 2010 and started encountering errors with the C++ distributable package during install, so I decided to install it by itself. Whenever I try and install it, it stops on
Feature: FT_VC_Redist_openMP_x86 Enter text and I receive the following error message before it rolls the install back:
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'policy.9.0.Microsoft.VC90.MFC,version="9.0.30729.1",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32-policy". Please
refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x8007371B.
I am running it in Admin mode and have tried disabling the services and restarting my machine. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. This problem is preventing me from installing numerous software titles that require this to be in place. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just ended up doing a repair install since nothing suggested was working - everything appears to be working fine now.

I once had this before when I tried to download Age of Empires Online. I decided one game isn't worth the problem, and I'd avoid all "Games for Windows" games because of this issue. Now, I recently bought a Vita and now I can't download Content Manager Assistant because of this, so now it is becoming a problem.

I really don't want to reinstall Windows, but if there is seriously no other way, I guess I will. This is becoming ridiculous.

I've tried downloading .Net framework and the x64 version, but nothing worked. Do I need to use a registry cleaner (if so, which one, and how can I use one without possibly screwing up my computer worse)? What do I need to do to fix this?

A:Error 1935, Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)

Following are the various ways you can implement to fix error 1935Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework

Hello,

I am trying to install Autodesk Maya, a 3D graphics development program.

The first part of the installation gets hung up when it attempts to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.

I figured I would install it separately, and I got this error message with every version of the software (x64, x86, x32, etc...):

Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly
"Microsoft.VC80.ATL,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.42",publicKeyToken="1fc9b3b9a1e18e3b" ,processorArchitecture="x86" Please refer to Help and Support for more information
I searched for information about the error, and tried many methods.

First I tried the Microsoft Fixit for Windows Update (apparently problems with windows update can cause this error), but that fixit was, ironically, the only one from the list which DID NOT work. It says that the version is outdated and to search for a more current version.

Next I tried a windows repair install from disk, and the repair install got at far as "Copying Windows Files" when it told me that the installation could not be continued. It then told me to restart and check for current updated.

I even tried making a separate admin account, and this, too, failed.
On an added note, I USED to be able to run this software since when I first got my computer, I installed Maya 2010 which uses the same software. I wish I had never uninstalled it.

Does anyone have a clue what to do? Let me ... Read more

The only cause I know of for this is a registry problem, below is the only fix I know of if I diagnosed this correctly.

In Windows, click Start > Run...
In the Run window, type 'regedit'. In the Registry Editor window, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control.
In the 'Registry Editor' dialog box, double-click on 'RegistrySizeLimit'. This opens the 'Edit DWORD Value' dialog box.
In the 'Edit DWORD Value' dialog box, enter ffffffff as the 'Hexadecimal' value. Click on the 'Decimal' radio button, and enter 4294967295 as the 'Decimal' value. Click OK.
Reboot the machine.
Log in as an Administrator and open a Command Prompt and run 'SFC /SCANNOW'.

Welcome to SevenForums,

Might be the wrong package...you'll have to install first the original Microsoft C++ redistributable 2005, if you get this error it could the cause of a security update instead of the full package.

Hello,

I tried to install the trial version of Sony Vegas Pro 9, which installs Microsoft Visual C++ 2008. The C++ external installer crashed and the Vegas installer failed. I got the standalone installer package from microsoft's website, but it does the same thing. It runs, but then there is a message "Exteneral Installer has stopped responding" or something and it won't install.

I'm running (a legal copy of) Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

I currently have 64 bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. I get the following error when I try to install the 64 bit version of the Visual C++ Redistributable package:
http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/3300/vc2008error.jpg

I tried disabling all of Avast!'s shields (though the Avast processes were still running. I can't disable it no matter what I do), I enabled User Account Control, but that error still occurred. So decided to search around thought it might be a .Net framework 2.0 issue. I tried installing .Net Framework 2.0, but it said that Framework 2.0 was already installed.

I used to have .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 installed, but I uninstalled that for .Net Framework 4.0. My C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 folder currently looks like this: http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/3...kinstalled.jpg.

Does this mean that .Net Framework 2.0 came with the .Net Framework 4.0 distribution? Is this the only issue involving the 1935 error? The HRESULT value, 0x8007002, also happens to be the same error value that I get when I run Windows Update. Do I really need to do a clean install (I'm using a laptop, so I didn't get any Vista DVD)

Other notes:
I am able to install the x86 version of the VC++ Redist 2008 package just fine.

I also tried cleaning out the registry using CCleaner and creating a new Admin account. Error still persists.

What exactly are these programs? I have like 5-6 of them, and was wondering if it is safe to uninstall them.

Like, are there any programs that are dependent upon it?

A:Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable

They are normally installed along side an application. They install runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries which are required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2008 installed.

Theres a good chance that a piece of software on your system requires the C++ libraries to run, it is safe to leave the application on there, you might have issues with a specific program if you remove it.

uh... a lot, and I mean a lot of applications and games need it to run, it's likely it was installed by a game or application you put on your computer.
I would not remove it.

It's likely windows isn't letting you remove it because it knows you have system components that need it.

Hello,
well, first off, check this image:

As you can see, I've blurred out all irrelevant programs. The rest, are all Microsoft-related-programs, and the highlighted are the multiple Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable applications I am talking about.

As you can see, there are two C++ 2005 Redisitributable, which doesn't make much sense. (although the first one weights 2.69MB and the second only 346KB) The last two that are highlighted are both C++ 2008 Redisitributable for x86, however the second is a newer version (do I really need the first version so that the last one can work?).

I ask this because I believe this is a complete waste of space and processing memory. Thank you in advance and if I missed any valuable information, please let me know and I will post it up ASAP.

I've tried uninstalling it, downloading a new version of the installer, installing in safe mode/"Run as administrator"- nothing works. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, I was working on this some time back when I was taken very ill and everything was put on hold.
However I am back at it and would love some help form someone who understands the issues.

This is a problem I have been struggling with for many months, on-line research shows it?s quite common and the usual only fix offered is to reinstall the whole system.

This is just not practical for me and I don?t think its the real answer.

My own feeling is that the problem resides in the registry but I don?t have the skills needed to find what it might be.

Let me explain a little more.

Initially the issue showed up when trying to install Corel video editing suit some months back, the installation failed and the 1935 error code was tracked down.

I gave up but just this week tried to install Cyber Media video editing suit and got the same issue once again.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wzoc0eqsix...cyber.jpg?dl=0

So I started digging again.

Since this point I have been trying to direct install MS Visual x64 2008 (vcredist_x64)

Here are the MS Visuals I do have installed, I say that but it would be good to know if they are fully installed!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/qbl8o11ivb...msvis.jpg?dl=0

Another computer forum suggested I use process monitor while trying to install and see what they makes of it.

I did this, but I do not know how read it?s output. Here I have filtered it to look at installer and only show the issues (I hope)

I have been trying to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable, and everytime I run the installation file, the progress will fill up fast and come to a stop at

Installation Progress: Publishing product information

After approximately a few hours, I received an error code 1935. HRESULT: 0x800736FD

I have tried uninstalling, but even uninstalling the progress bar hangs after around 95% mark as well. I have other Visual C++ install fyi if its of any relevance. When I try to uninstall other Visual C++ versions I encounter hanging as well. I am using Windows 8.

I am trying to install some software. The installation goes smoothly until the last minute, when the installer tries to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable". This also works, but at the last minute it hangs with one second left to go, thus preventing me from installing the software at all. An error then pops up, saying: "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.ATL,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"'. I am running on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit with SP1.

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

I think this will fix it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956699You can either run the fix manually or download the automatic FixIt tool on that page.

"The feature you are trying to use is on a CD_ROM or other removable disk that us bit available.
Insert the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable disk and click OK"

This is weird because i do not have any CD with this software and i downloaded this package from Microsoft website.

I'm trying to install Microsoft Visual C++ 20xx so I can play games like Grand Theft Auto IV or BeamNG Drive, Ship Simulator Extremes, etc., but every time I try to install any of the Microsoft Visual C++ versions (anything between 2004 and 2013) it gives me this error:

I was told that it was a registry error, and I've already looked at all of the helpful looking pages on Google, nothing helped. I have tried numerous times to download this but it fails every time. When I boot my PC it is in the notification box as update to install. Even if I don't try to install it, when I go to shut down my PC it goes through the motions as if it had downloaded it. I have tried just about everything I can think of to resolve this. I ran Mr. Fixit, it didn't even though it said it did. I clicked on the link I found dealing with this particular problem. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=26368 That didn't help much either. Should I try downloading and installing it from the link below or is that going to fail too?

Welcome to Seven Forums thebrew. Generally different programs use different versions, and some programs may even need multiple versions. The latest version is not a cumulative version, in other words. Each version is independent of each other. If you don't have any programs that require the 2008 version, then you will be ok without it of course. A Guy

Good morning, I?ve been working on
Windows 2012 R2 server.  I ran MBSA on the server several times.  The
first time I ran it told me that Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable
Package needed to be installed.  I manually downloaded MS11-025 both x64
and x32 and installed them.  Ran MBSA again and I received the message
Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package, was missing.  I?ve
ran it several times and keep getting the same results. Thanks in advance for your help.
Mike

Hi, [please read all )
I wanted to download and install Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 or 2008 (any edition). All the files are downloaded successfully in the installer, but when it comes to the installing part, it fails and shows me these 2 errors: 1935 and 2908. I have read in some articles where they say that we have to modify/delete or update the mscoree.dll file but I don't know how to do it, please tell me how can I do it. Other than this, some articles say to delete or modify a registry key. I have .NET Framework 4 installed on my Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit) computer. I tried to uninstall the .NET Framework 4, then reinstalled it again but the errors aren't gone. I know that the mscoree.dll file's version should be updated according to the version of the .NET Framework, but I don't know how to do it.

Info:
Windows 7 Ultimate
32 - bit
1518 MB RAM
.NET Framework 4 Installed.

Please show me how to modify/delete/change or update the registry key or the mscoree.dll file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

A:Errors 1935/2908 appear when Visual Basic 2008/2010 (Any Version) is being installed.

Is this the Express Edition of VB.NET? The versions (Pro and above) require a license and are not free downloads.

Hello!

I am trying to install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from the following link.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/down....aspx?id=48145

I pick the x64 version, because that is what my computer is. However, after downloading, when I try to install it by running the program, the progress bar fills fine until the very end, where it freezes. This is shown in picture 1.

When I press cancel, a quick box opens up asking if I'm sure, and when I click yes, the screen looks like what is shown in picture 2.

And so I click on the log file, and it shows me this:
