I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently purchased a Yoga Book, which I'm really enjoying. The one issue that continually surfaces is that it doesn't immediately power up. I often need to hold down the power switch for a lengthy amount of time (5+ secs) to get it to power up/wake up. Has anyone encountered the same? Thanks in advance.

My regards, the Yoga notebook Android can not access the desktop. I remember having uninstalled from google market domino game and has restarted. Now reboot over and over without being able to access the desktop. I turn on the tablet, the Android boot then restarts repeatedly. I state that I in no way manipulated system files. I enter Ricovery and try rebooting it does not change anything. The terminal is still under warranty. I hope someone is able to help me and avoid me to bring it to service.

Hi everyone,  I was working on my laptop Lenovo Yoga 2 (model 20344), and suddenly it stopped. I tried to start again but it didn't star again anymore. The laptop is out of guarantee, so I decided to disassemble it and try to find out what is happening in order to fix it. I tried to switch on the laptop without the battery, but it didn't work. I have measured the battery voltage, and it seems to be ok because it is 12.1 Voltage. Can anyone  help me out?  Best regards.

Dear all,

I just received my new Thinkpad X1 Yoga, brand new, with a dock OneLink+

Both are running fine. But it is impossible to start the PC when the dock is connected: The screen freeze at the red square LENOVO display from the Bios, windows 10 pro doesn't start.

I have to disconnect the dock, et relaunch the PC to enable a normal start. After the start, I can reconnect the dock.

I updated all drivers, flashed the bios, latest FW of the dock and even resetted Windows, but without success.

Lenovo support wants to change the laptop (!), it's brand new!

I thought maybe one of the topgun member of this community might have a better idea.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have a 3-month old yoga 920 glass vibes. Last night, the battery was below 20%, so I plugged in the charger to the right thunderbolt port. After few minutes, my laptop suddenly shut down. Now, it won't open anymore. Whenever I press the power button, the light indicator turns on for few seconds, but nothing happens. I tried to plug in the charger again. The light indicator was white and blinking slowly several minutes ago, but now it's steady white. The laptop still doesn't start though. Does anyone know what the problem is?

You can try a static discharge. Press and hold the power button for a full minute. Then try to restart it. If that doesn't work, try the recessed NOVO button.

Hi everyone. Hopefully I can get some assistance on this particular problem. I'm looking at a faulty Yoga 2 11 laptop (i3 processor) that belongs to a friend. He told me it no longer switches on anymore. It's about 18 months old (or thereabouts). The laptop powers on and the Lenovo screen appears for about two to three seconds and then it powers off immediately with a "click". My first thoughts were dust/overheating. Well I took the back panel off and as expected the fan but mainly the vents were solid with fluff and dust (couldn't see through them). I've since found out he likes to use the laptop on the carpet and in bed so not a great surprise! The fan itself wasn't too bad, I brushed it clean and also gently cleaned it with some alcohol solution. I have ordered a replacement but it seems very tough to get hold of one in the UK so I have ordered one from China but obviously that will take a good few weeks. However the blades of the fan were not very dirty so that may not be the issue. The fan turns freely and with no resistance. Cleaned the rest of the PC, as there was heavy fluff and dust towards the top of the motherboard. The SD card inserts and USB sockets were solid with fibre as well. Anyway, temporarily placed the back panel on again but unfortunately no luck; the issue is still there. It doesn't even get to the BIOS screen. I did disconnect the battery and tried only using the power supply, no difference.&n... Read more

Hugely disappointed. Lenovo seem to ignore posts on their social media so posting here in final desperation. Just bought a brand new Lenovo Yoga 520. During setup the thing just fell over to the Oops screen, restarted and is now stuck at the 'Just A Moment' screen and has been for around an hour and a half now. I truly hate lousy tech and wondered what to do and whether this is how it's going to be. Is there anything I can do and it not then it's back to the retailer to get my money back? I've never owned Lenovo before, but instead brands like Toshiba, Dell and Apple who have never let me down and had heard good things about so am hugely disappointed but life it just too short to have to workaround sloppy badly built tech. Any help and advice welcome before I get rid of this thing.

Hi guys,

I've had this problem with my PC now for the last few weeks. When I power up my computer, it doesn't switch on immediately and didn't come on until around 15 mins later. This 15 mins then became 30 mins. When the computer did power on however, everythign was fine and I could access all my files etc properly.

I suspected that it may be the PSU or MB. I opened it up, and first took the MB's battery out, and then put it back in again after 5 mins. This didn't do anything. At this point I had brought the computer downstairs. Then I decided to make sure the whole tower was free of dust etc and then try it. All of a sudden, it started to work correctly i.e. I could switch it off and then when I switch it on again, it would come on right away.

I took it upstairs again and the same problem started again. During all this however, the motherboards green power light is always on and I can't see any warning lights or obvious areas of damage to it. My dad then took the battery of the MB out again and put it back in again and then it started coming on immediately again. However, I went to try it again, and guess what, it's not powering up at all now again.

What do you think may be the cause of this? Is a new PSU in order? When I manage to get into BIOS, In the 'Hardware Monitor' section, the voltages are all indicated as being correct i.e. where it says it should be 5, it is, and where it says 12, it is etc.. The CPU's ... Read more

A:Computer doesn't power up immediately

There is a jumper you can reset so you don't have to remove the battery for 5 minutes every time.

I don't know what the problem would be, but it is easier to replace or try another PSU than it is to replace the motherboard.

Whats up all, I built my friend a computer and whenever we boot it up to Windows XP, it takes about a minute for the internet to connect. His old computer didn't do this, we tried different drivers, turning off the firewall, plugging directly into the modem and it doesn't work instantly upon bootup. Here are his specs

Asus m2n68-am (Nforce 630a chipset)
2gb kingston ddr2 800
evga 9600gt 512
Amd athlon x2 4800+

Could the port be bad? If it was bad I'd think it wouldn't work at all...what would cause the internet not to work instantly? Has anyone ever heard of this? Every other computer i've ever used connects instantly to the internet...

Hello,  I would prefer to contact support directly but I have been unable to find a phone number or email contact. I'm not sure whether this problem was caused by the recent Windows 10 update, but today I noticed that if I unplug my laptop from the power cable, it immediately shuts down without warning. It says that the battery is 100% fully charged, but the power light is blinking a red/orange colour, which seems to mean that the battery is below 5% and is not charging. Other than that, the laptop works fine when plugged in. So far I have tried to restart the computer, shut down and boot up, and hold the power keys while shut down and unplugged, which has not worked.   I'm not acquainted with the forum so I'm unsure if this problem has been solved/encountered before. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Hey everyone,

I've got a self-built PC that has been running great since 2010 without issue. However, I recently found that the sleep function no longer performs as expected. The computer sleeps on command but wakes just 3-4 seconds later. Worse, the system is totally unresponsive after waking, with no video to the monitor. I own a backlit USB keyboard (Corsair K90) and the keys weirdly flicker when I try to type in this state. The only way to exit the state is by a hard shutdown. I can't seem to pinpoint the issue since "powercfg lastwake" returns an empty wake history by next boot. I also haven't installed any new hardware since having the problem. I found a troubleshooting guide for sleep issues and followed that, and the only device that is able to wake my computer is the keyboard, according to windows. I'm wondering what to do since I'd love to have my computer always available but leaving it on wastes a ton of power. Thanks for reading my question.

PS. I think this could be related to RAM. Under normal operation (after a fresh boot), the ram status led's are all green, meaning that there are no issues. However, when in the above unresponsive state, I fond that the same status led's are orange, a warning indicator. I am using S3 sleep, so the session is always saved to RAM. Just what I know, hopefully it's a clue to the solution. Thanks again.

I just stumbled upon this site in an attempt to find a fix for my newly infected computer. I am running windows XP Home Edition (SP2) and when I start up the computer, I am getting several windows popping up as the computer starts up. I have tried checking msconfig for anything unusual on the start up list, but have found nothing. I also ran ad-aware, spy-bot, spyware blaster, CWShredder, and my antivirus program (supplied by Cox High Speed Internet). With all of those things, one or two things were found (and supposedly fixed), but when I restart my computer, I still get the same problem. Anyone have any suggestions. I've also run Hijack This, but didn't see anything unusual in the log. I can post it when necessary. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have read nearly every post with yoga book issues regarding powering on, waking up, sleep mode.  None of the fixes worked for me.  IT WON'T WAKE UP!!! I've triedholding power button for 15 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds, plugged in and unplugged with original power cordholding power button and volume rocker, plugged in and unpluggedpushing the power button 10, 15, 20 times rapidly and then trying to turn it on.The battery is internal and I am not sure I want to try to open it up.  I can't find any screws. I'm waiting for the battery to drain to see if that will help.  But in sleep mode, it may take a while..... Help?

I like my yoga book but just lost my real pen and for the life of me cannot find any replacement anywhere .  Anyone knows if or when it would be once more available? Reached out to lenovo 3 times and no one seems to know anything.  Clearly they stopped it.  Without it the yoga book is useless and as it is only a few months old I am disappointed. If there are alternative to allow for both usage  (screen and paper) let me know. Thanks!

I've looked at the problems concerning the pen on the forums here and none of them seem to pertain to my problem specifically so I figured I would go ahead and ask. I have a Lenovo Yoga Book (the 64GB version). I reinstalled Windows 10 because it was locked out due to bitlocker, the Halo Keyboard wouldn't switch to the sketch pad mode so I reinstalled the drivers for that per the official instructions by Lenovo, and now the pen only interacts with the very top left hand corner of the screen no matter where I use the pen. I'd really like to start drawing again! Thanks in advance for any help I might receive!

Hi, I'm about to order the new yoga book c930, the one with the dual display (lcd + e-ink) setup. However, in my market (Sweden) only the m3 version with 128GB ssd and without pen is available as of now  Since this will be mostly a home web browsing 2-in-1 for me I'm fine with the performance and storage limitations but really would like to have a pen for it that works both for the LCD and the e-ink display for notes and sketching. Any hints as to which of all the different lenovo (or third party?) pens available that would work? Is the one that comes with the i5-version available separately? I haven't been able to find any guidance on lenovo.com and local pre-sales customer service didn't have any answer either unfortunately. Any guidance would be highly appreciated!

I'm currently working with Systemax (makers of PaintTool SAI) to try and troubleshoot why pressure sensitivity for the Yoga Book does not work. The advertising says that the Yoga Book will take up to a 128GB MicroSD card but it won't work with my 64GB card. It appears that it requires the card to be formatted as FAT32 to be compatible but FAT32 only supports devices up to 32GB.  After several attempts I re-partitioned my card using a PC with a 32Gb partition and formatted that as FAT32.  Success. It would also be very useful if there was some technical support in the UK. No phone support, no email support, no chat support; why, when we are paying more in the UK than people in the US who get all the support channels?
