Q: How To Fix Bios Error Code =81fb

Please help me on how to fix my bios error code 81FB, i cannot log-in to windows xp

Preferred Solution: How To Fix Bios Error Code =81fb

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Need more info. Is this error code appearing when you turn on your PC or when you're trying to install Windows. BIOS error code indicates a problem with the PC's CMOS BIOS, not with Windows. Please reply with the make/model of your PC and/or Motherboard and exactly when you're seeing this error.

Alright. I have been building a new PC after a recent lightning strike burned the other one. This is the 5th PC I've built and have never had any problems.

When starting the PC it goes through the motions and recognizes the boot disks; however, shortly after a blank screen come up with the POST error code "EB_". According to Intel this is a "Initialize PCI and DMA" error. What is that? And how can it be fixed?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

A:BIOS Error Code

I'm not all that experienced in this kind of stuff, but you could try flashing your BIOS to the newest version and making everything is plugged in properly and tight.

New X250 notebook shipped with BIOS version 1.13, and I'd like to update it to 1.17, becouse it has Windows 10 support, and I'm having power management issues with that OS. (cannot wake up from sleep, system freeze when closing lid, even with sleep turned off in that case.) I can successfully downgrade my BIOS to 1.12, 1.11, but I cannot upgrade it to 1.16 or 1.17 (cannot download 1.13, it's revoked). The update starts in Windows, restarts, but then an error message stops the update: Finished PUP flashing, Error Code: Unknown error code (0xC),ADDITIONAL_DATA:0x7Error reported from PFAT: Unknown ErrorStatus of TdkBiosRomWrite: 1ERROR 102 : Failed to perform flash After rebooting, I can comfirm that the update failed. Good day and welcome to the community.
Sorry you're having difficulty.
If you have access to a USB CD/DVD drive, you could try using the bootable disk method:
but you might want to speak with Support (info below) about this first. A failed BIOS upgrade can be very difficult to recover from.

Hello, please could you give me advice - I made a BIOS update (Version: 01.42Ap1). This update was strongly recommended in program HP support assistant. Immediately after update the error 601 occurred (for the first time...). The notebook was bought in 6-2015 and it is used only occasionally. The Battery Test in HP Support Assistant shows 0%. The program BatteryInfoView (BIV) shows Battery Level Wear 100% (which means that the battery is 100% ok). On my old (working) notebook EliteBook 8540p the BIV shows 35% level. I think that the battery is ok but something in BIOS is incorrect.Thank you for your advice.Tomas BIV - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/battery_information_view.html

I've been recommended to update my bios (original threet http://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...ml#post7462354)

And this was a fatal mestake in my case. After the update i had problems to boot up again. At first it was error 32 on the motherboard debug panel. I removed all usb cables, and restarted couple of times, and eventualy it booted fine. I checked the bios, its version was the correct one (3.30)

But today i wasnt able to boot at all, first couple of tries was error 32 once again, than i removed all usb cables again. Still nothing. Support at Asrock mailed me that i should disconect all sata devices. So i did that, but after powering on the error changed to 00 and it remained this way no matter what i plug or unplug. Any help would be apriciated.

PCCHIPS Model M810DLU (ver 5.2a)
AMI 62-1111-001131-00101111-040201-SiS740- M810D

I pulled this MB off my shelf of "projects". When I tried to make this work in the past, it always failed to boot. However, I discovered yesterday that 2 of my 3 Socket 462 "project" CPUs didn't work at all. #3 project chip - Athlon 2100+ does work.

So I put that project MB and project chip together, and the combo worked. I was able to boot from a live linux CD and from a Bart PE CD. That's the good news.

The bad news is that this combo - loaded with memory, video, drives, and any of 3 brand new 450W power supplies - occasionally fails to boot.
When it dies,

it's on one of the first 10 instructions
fails on POST Code 'dF'
resets the DRAM and CPU rates from 133 to 100 - changing my CPU from a 2100+ to a 1500+ -- PS: I know that an Athlon XP 2100+ actually operates at 1733Mhz

The Power Supply stays on and other MB accessories (CPU fan, drives as examples) continue to function. The video does not light up because it's too soon in the POST to display.

Normally that would be no big deal: look up the POST code and see where it failed. The problem is that I can't find any reference to a code 'dF' in any AMI or Award documentation or in the documentation available from PCCHIPS.

I've Googled terms like
+ pcchips + motherboard + m810d + "boot" + df
I've always gotten lots of hits, but nothi... Read more

A:Solved: Odd BIOS (POST) Error Code

Good Evening snorkytheweasel, I was just reading your post and the M810 looked familiar, quite coincidentally I have one in front of me right now. It is a M810LM slightly different but close.

It doesn't even post!

It did have an odd fail problem before it died. It originally had an Athlon in it.

I tried a Duron 1900 in it and it failed to work also.

I don't think this board is worth playing with further.

That hanging boot symptom is typical of a low 5 volt rail from the PSU.
One last effort may be tried by using a digital meter set to read a DC voltage higher than 10 volts and measuring one of the PSU drive power plugs between the red and black wires in a powered mode. That 5v is critical.

I have no idea what a df code is.

We're planning to push BIOS updates to all our systems in the near future. However, in testing we've noticed that some systems will fail installation with error code 211. The problem seems to be related to a changed BIOS logo, since when ran manually, the updater asks if it should overwrite the existing logo or keep it. This seems to cause problems when you run the BIOS update executable "winuptp64.exe" with the "-s" (silent) argument. Is there a solution to this, like an argument that forces overwriting of logo or keep existing? Full error log:[2018/1/24 11:40:47] version 25.26

A:G50 - Forgotten BIOS password / Obtaining error code

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
Unfortunately there is no master password or magic back door which can be used to circumvent a forgotten BIOS password on a laptop. This protection scheme is due to the ease in which laptops are stolen every day. Your only solution is to try and remember the password you used.
Likewise removing the CMOS battery from the motherboard will NOT clear forgotten passwords on a laptop system. If you still can't remember the password then the alternative is to replace the motherboard.  Sorry.
What error code are you trying to obtain?

Had not used the notebook for a long time. When I tried to boot it up, a screen flashed up; it flashes up for too short a time to read properly but at the bottom, it gives F9 and F10 boot options but I could not get these to do anything. Then the screen goes to an "Enter CURRENT password" prompt. No HP or Windows logo at all. When the password is unsuccessfully entered 3 times, the following is displayed;  Password check failed / Fatal Error... System failed / CNU92032MQ and the only thing the notebook can do is be switched off, to repeat the same process. I tried removing battery and using the various the e9xxx passwords given on the blog, nothing has worked so far. (Is this a "Power On" or a "BIOS" password prompt?) Please help me recover my notebook.

Purchased a Thinkpad T470 in June, 2017 from Lenovo US store. The laptop had been my daily driver for my works since then. Last week when I started to turn it on it didn't start-up. No boot screen or else. Instead it ended up with a weird musical beep tone. Later I googled it found and the term "Smart-beep". Eventually diagonalised with the Lenovo PC diagnostics app and the error was translated as Code: 10284- "TCG-compliant functionality-related error (might be the BIOS code validation failure)"- which tells that the severity is Informational. And also suggests to change the system board which might gonna be pretty expensive as I have no warranty left for this.   What to do with it now?

Hello all,

I have a problem with Windows Update agent on Windows 7 SP1 enterprise.
We are using Configuration Manager 1606 and Windows 7 SP1 and about 140 computers works without any problem.
On the other 10 computers I got the following error message in the windowsupdate.log:
WARNING: SyncUpdates failure, error = 0x8024400D, soap client error = 7, soap error code = 300, HTTP status code = 200
WARNING: SOAP Fault: 0x00012c
WARNING:     faultstring:Fault occurred
WARNING:     ErrorCode:InvalidParameters(7)

I've tried several actions although none does any help. Here is the list of actions:
- upgrade windows update agent to the latest version
- windows update agent reset by this instructions https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/971058/how-do-i-reset-windows-update-components
- empty Temporary Internet files
- check the rules and blocked traffic on windows firewall and physical firewall between server and workstation vlan
- sfc /scannow

It looks like significant Windows 7 error, although reinstalling is not my option.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks for your time!

I apologize if this is the wrong place to present this!

Rescently, I found that there might be some BIOS code for an older motherboard at the following:

"BIOS updates are also available at Micro Firmware. Their internet address site is http://www.firmware.com/. You can also call them at 1 (800) 747-5465. "

Using the URL was useless plus any other URL links found on the Internet to a possible Micro Firmware web page was useless. Server off, site not found error messages.

Also, further information found on Micro Firmware is:

Micro Firmware
330 West Gray Street
Norman, OK 73069-7111 USA

Phone: 800-767-5465
Phone2: 405-321-8333
Fax: 405-573-5535

Using any of the phone numbers listed above is useless. No answer, fast busy tone, or recording that says "number is no longer in use".

This firm use to be readily available by phone but not so the last few days. And for how long I have no idea. So far I have not found any information on Internet searches, etc.!

Has the URL and phone number information changed or are they really out of business? Does anyone know the stauts of Micro Firmware?

Thanks for your time!

Ok - I'm trying to fix my friends' computer - Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975 running Windows 7 32-bit

Windows firewall is off and I need to "Update Firewall Settings". When I click use recommended settings, I get a message that says it "can't change some of your settings. Error code 0x80070424" I get the same thing when I click on "Turn Windows Firewall on or off" and "Restore Defaults"

When I click on "Advanced Settings" I get "There was an error opening the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in" followed by it "failed to load. Restart the Windows Firewall service on the computer you are managing. Error code 0x6D9."

I scanned the computer using both Avast and Microsoft Safety Scanner (full scan and took over 2 hours) - no infections or issues found

I installed all Microsoft updates and followed suggested restarts.

I ran Microsoft Fix It and I get a message that the firewall isn't running or stopped and it can't be fixed.

I have gone into services as an administrator to try and start Windows Firewall...it isn't there - not in the list of services (local)

I also used SlimDrivers to update all the drivers on the computer.

What I am not seeing is how to uninstall and reinstall Windows Firewall...any other program or hardware issue, that would seem to be the easiest solution - but I have yet to see how to do that with Windows Firewall.

I even started the computer in safe mode... Read more

First of all try to check if ALT+F10 at boot take you to windows recovery and you can reach command prompt from there:troubleshoot-advanced options- command prompt (if this works, go to point 4, if not point 1)1. create a vanilla Windows 8.1 installation media from this link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media2. Once you boot using the Windows installation disc, on the Windows 8.x installation window, click on Repair your computer.3. Click on Troubleshoot and in the Advanced options. First thing you may try is the Automatic Repair.4. If that does not help, then select Command Prompt. Enter the following four commands into the prompt.bootrec /fixmbrbootrec /fixbootbootrec /scanosbootrec /rebuildbcdOnce the command completes, restart the computer.

You may need to attempt SFC up to 3 times to repair damaged System Files. But first disinfect per Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7. If there is any problem go with the bootable scans in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start as the OS may be in the death grip of infection.

Then SFC may run better from the Win7 installation media or System Repair Disk Command Line: SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

If these fail then you can try the Repair Install after establishing a Clean Boot per Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

But you may be better off copying out your files to quarantine to follow these same steps for a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which compiles everything that works best in tens of thousands of installs we've helped with here.

However during the installation I encountered Error Code: 80073712
I tryed the installation again without anything else open and still the same result
I tryed the installation again having restarted and still the same result
I tryed the installation again after running the DISM Tool and still the same result

Yesterday (17/7/15) I tryed to download another important update:

1) Security Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB3004365)

However during the download I encountered Error Code: 800F081F
I tryed everything that I tryed previously and still the same result

I searched around and both of these error codes apparently mean that a file needed by Windows Update is either damaged or missing

I thought I might as-well start a thread about it on these forums as not being able to download/install security updates isn't a good thing

Please Reply!

Hi All,
I'm new here and I think I messed up the post that I made. I had meant to say that all of a sudden I can't use windows installer service I get error code 8007641 or error code 641. I'm unsure why I'm not able to use windows installer anymore and I'm not able to get valuable updates from windows without it. Has anyone else ever had this problem and if so, were they able to come up with a solution? Thank you. This is my first day on the site and unsure how to get around on it, but it seems like it's an exciting site and I'm looking forward to using it.

As you have the latest driver installed, I would suggest Rolling back to the previous version.
If that does not fix the issue, then you may try this newer BETA version

After poking around on other threads, there's a chance this is related to the hardware drivers. However, I wasn't able to find a thread with this exact error code, so any help on what this means and how to correct it would be appreciated thanks! This is generating on a LENOVO ideapad Y700 series laptop (15 inch).

Hi guys, first time posting so apologies in advance if I do something illegal. As far as I can gather, I should be posting in the right forum. I've been having system stability problems for the last week or so. I think it might be because of a mass driver update across my system since nothing else seems to be the cause.

Basically, I updated some drivers bout a week ago and now the PC either hangs or auto-restart when I'm playing games. At first I thought it might be due to OC instability, so I reset my bios to default settings. Didn't quite work out completely as the system still exhibits the "sudden death" during gaming.

Have tried the steps in the sticky above on refreshing the page file. defragging etc. Problem still hasn't gone away. All rams have cleared 7 cycles of memtest at 2.65 volts and 2.6 volts without problems, though everything has been reset to stock already.

My system specs are as follows :
AMD 64X2 4200+
MSI K8N Neo 4 Platinum
2 x 512mb Kingston CH5 PC3200 DDR
2 x 512mb Mushkin Black Line BH5 DDR
Inno 6600GT 128mb
Creative Audugy ZS Platinum
BenQ 1640
Gigabyte CD-RW
Hitachi/IBM 80GB SATA II
Western Digital 240GB SATA HD
Verudium Vortex 430W

Am fairly sure its not a power issue and the core temp never exceeds 49 degrees even at full load. Its about 44/45 idle. Am guessing it might be the soundcard though... Anyone able to help?

Would be most grateful for any assistance and thanks in advance.

I have a HP 522c AMD Athlon 2000+, running windows xp. There is an integrated video card that went bad. So in installed an AGP video card it is a 3D Prophet 4000XT 32 MB. Now that the card is installed when I have it activated there is a code 12 on one of the pci to pci bridges so that my network card in the other pci slots will not work. I have tried the network card on other computers and it works fine, i have also tried the video card and it works fine. I also tried other items in the pci slots while the agp card is in(modem, sound card) and i still recieve the same error. The card works when a pci bridge is enabled but only with the VGAsave driver and with very low quality. When i check the device manager while both pci to pci bridges are enabled, when i can only run the VGAsave driver, it says the there is a conflict under the I/O range with the VGAsave and an Pci to Pci bridge. Any windows updates just delets the pci to pci bridge listed in the device manager. And i have tried all the drivers i could from AMD, HP, Hercules. Any help would be welcomed on how to fix this.

your hp box is not only engineered by hp (who tend to focus on low assembly costs) but is an oem build, thus severely limiting your options. a suggested next step would be to attempt to poke around in the bios setup utility and/or to try out a wider variety of cards/slot configurations. good luck.

I am completely stumped by this problem. I will do my best to explain it and see what you fine folks can do.

I had an older bluetooth dongle, off-brand model, 2010-2011 year, that I installed on my new desktop computer. It worked, but sound quality on my Sony Dr-BT101 headset wasn't great. It worked well with my bluetooth-enabled phones and tablets, so I suspected the dongle. I bought a CSR8510 dongle, which came with a CSR Cambridge Radio Harmony software stack. I installed the software, and turned on the headset, paired it, but no sound came out of the headset. I went to Sound, saw no entries. Went to device managers and saw the parts in yellow. I tried to update the driver but all I got was Code 18 error and this weird message in the picture. I clicked on properties and saw this message.

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

I am stumped. I've tried uninstalling, re-installing, installing other Bluetooth drivers, waving a magic wand, none of it has worked. I'm thinking it's a problem with the Registry, but I am not sure how to proceed.

Any ideas?
