LG Smartphone HBS-730 = Windows Fails to Recognize (Error 43)

Q: LG Smartphone HBS-730 = Windows Fails to Recognize (Error 43)

When I connect the USB cable to the Bluetooth headset and then to the PC, Windows 7 tries to recognize it to install a driver or something, and then it claims the device has malfunctioned and tosses up the error 43. I tried restarting, uninstalling the unknown device, restarting again and re-connecting, but no such luck. The thing is, the PC still seems to charge the headset perfectly fine, and the headset pairs with my phone without an issue.

I'm not totally annoyed by this issue, I managed to get the headset for 15 dollars on Ebay and so far they work perfectly fine and like I said, they will charge via USB or I can connect my AC adapter and charge them fine that way. Just curious why 7 is trying to install drivers for a headset, it didn't try to do that with my old Skullcandy headset.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

From the start of connecting my LG G3 to my Windows 7 pro 64bit computer I could not get windows to recognize the phone. In the device manager I saw a driver named VS985 4G. Querying this driver returned "Windows cannot initialize the driver for this hardware (code 37)".

I deleted the driver and connected the phone again. The system automatically reinstalled the same driver and everything worked again, until the next time I tried to reconnect the phone to upload.

It worked that way for some months, then recently when I tried to delete & reinstall the driver it installed a driver named MTP USB device, returned the dialog "Driver Not Successfully Installed" and the device manager reported "Device cannot start (code 10)".

So I next went to the LG site and manually downloaded the driver I entered as VS985 4G. Installed it and again the device manager identifies it a LGE Android MTP device, with the same code 10 error.

I cannot get past this. I tried a system restore but because of limited restore space I couldn't go back more than 2 weeks, and that didn't help. Solution?

Twice now, after updates, Windows fails to recognize all but one playback device, the AMD HDMI Output and no recording devices at all. In the screenshots below, you can see what playback and recording devices are recognized before the update when all is normal and as it should be.

I've had to do a system restore twice to get sound output back through my digital output (s/pdif), which is the one I normally use.

After restore, all is normal. I'll post some screenshots of what it looks like when normal and another shot of the updates.

Should I install one update at a time and uninstall it if the problem recurs and then try each one at a time?

Could it have anything to do with my having had the Win10 downloaded (not installed) and then erased with the other updates reminding me to download it? (I've hidden those updates too).

The only other new thing was to plug in my receiver since that's how I record. But that's been plugged in before without ill effects.

Here are the screenshots.

UPDATE: I've just checked for updates and in update history, all the updates were successfully installed after doing a system restore than I thought would remove them. Isn't that odd too?

New UPDATE: Now windows suggests I install the new updates, same as the old updates.

After multiple Hibernation events: windows login fails to recognize correct password

After repeatedly hibernating the computer for about a week or 2, it will eventually refuse to recognize legitimate password and fail to login, yielding "did you forget your password" message.

IF I shut down the computer (thus losing all open windows) and reboot, the password works fine. I have repeatedly changed passwords, but this does not help.

Windows XP Hibernate feature has never worked properly and that is why Windows defaults with this feature off and hidden from newbies. I love the concept but have always found it to be buggy on every machine it has been on. Periodic shutdown and restart is needed to flush memory, but this is the first time I have seen this particular issue.

It seems to occur when Hibernation fails to stay off and the computer immediately re-awakens when hibernate shutdown is complete. In other words, unit will not stay in Hibernation but cycles back on, unless power cord is pulled. When power is returned, computer may immediately boot up.

This problem began on a newly assembled computer with fresh XP SP2 install. (AMD dual core 6000; 2GB RAM; Asus M2N-E motherboard). All updates done, including XP's problem with dealing with 1GB of RAM and more.

Internet usage is safe and clean on main sites only. I Use AVAST antivirus, Spybot, Ad-Aware. I used a SmitfraudFix as I thought I had an infection.

Gee, I am disapointed that no one was able to suggest something here. I did my part by helping others, so what's the prob?

Because this involves immediate rebooting of the computer(hardware?) AND a software issue of not recognizing password, I am leaning to CPU issue. I have seen some weird issues in past that were CPU. I do not have a tester CPU; I do have anothe MB and may try that.

I have 3 computers, each with new M2N-E motherboards & AMD AM2, 64 bit, 4600+ processors.

Each will recognize the 3.5" FDD. Neither will recognize the 5.25" FDD.

I have a computer with an AROCK motherboard that WILL RECOGNIZE the 5.25" FDD.

I have only 1 FDD connected at a time.

The 5.25" FDD does not have 34 pins. It has a slot and tab type connector.

The 3.5" FDD uses a 34 pin connector.

I have verified that I have the red side of the ribbon cable connected to pin 1 on the motherboard's FDD port.

I use the same ribbon cable for each of the above 3 computers.

According the the ASUS motherboard manual, the M2N-E is capable of recognizing 5.25" or 3.5" FDDs.

In the bios, on the "main" screen, the "legacy diskette A:" lists the 3.5" FDD, whether the 3.5" or 5.25" FDD is connected.
Pressing "enter" to access the sub-menu displays "disable", and 2 choices of 3.5" FDDs.
There are no options for the 5.25" FDD.

In the bios, on the "boot" screen, under "removable drives", only "Floppy Disks" is present.
I cannot access a sub-menu.

I look forward to your help.

As ASUS tech told me that he thinks the M2N -E only recognizes FDDs with 34 pin connectors.

Earlier this year I purchased a Gateway FX P6831fx and have had no issues other than one minor thing, the DVD drive (Optiarc DVD RS AD=7563A ATA Device) doesn't always work properly, sometimes I have to reboot my comp to get it to recognize a new disk. I never have any problems if I insert the disk then reboot. But if I try to put another disk in My Compute will lock up and stop responding. Sometimes disabling the device then enabling it will solve the problem but not always.

In most cases I have to reboot entirely, at first this was just a minor annoyance but now it has grown to be a pain as I play more and more games and reboot on a multi disk game resets the installer. Kind of a major pain.

I have talked with gateway tech support and they seem to know something I dont as they use remote access of some kind to take control of my comp and solve the problem but what they do is only temporary but at least they know how to do it with out rebooting, and they wont tell me what they do, I've ask many times but I do know they have me open device manager before they start so Im guessing it has something to do with that.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive and this doesn't help. As far as drivers go I dont even know where to begin to look but device manager cant find any updates on its own so I would assume I'm doing ok in that department.

Any help you good people can give me would be greatly appreciated..

Thank you!

I have a problem with my DVD burner that I've been researching recently on Google. My burner (which is a combo DVD-RW/CD-RW burner) fails to recognize any blank or used media. In other words, when I insert any blank media or a CD-R or DVD-R that I wrote to in the past, it does not appear as if the media has even loaded. By clicking on properties, It says 0 bytes used and 0 bytes available. However, when I place the same DVD-R or CD-R into my other drive (a normal DVD-ROM drive), it reads it perfectly fine. Additionally, when I insert my Battlefield 2 DVD into the burner, it reads it perfectly. Here is what I've tried:

Editing the registry (changing the drive function values)
Re-installing the cord
Uninstalling any 3rd party burning software that I have (including a clean uninstall of Nero 7)
Unchecking the "Enable CD Recording on this Drive," hitting Apply and then checking it again
Updating the firmware of the drive.
Checking to see whether the already-written media mentioned above worked on my MacBook (it did)
Disconnecting the DVD-ROM drive that I have attached as slave to the DVD burner

These were all the strategies that were posted on the other various sites and they did not help me at all. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Also, a little note. When I first purchased the media, they burned fine, which was a couple months ago. But now they aren't being recognized at all.

You would first Back up all your important files to other media like DVD'S, External drive, or thumb drive. Do a clean install of Windows xp, then install linux in a dual boot configuration. I recommend Ubuntu 10.04 or higher.

I have a VAIO VPC computer with Windows 7 operating system. I was installing the software for my Palm TX Organizer, and when it came to connecting the device to the computer, I received the message that the system was locating the drivers for the device and then informing me that no drivers were available. When I tried to sync the device through the palm program it will not recognize the presence of the device. I uninstalled and downloaded a new version of the program from the Palm website encountering the same situation when I connected the device to the computer.

I have also experienced this same situation with the installation of Tunes Plus to allow for the uploading of my iPod music onto iTunes on the computer, I continually get a device not present message.

Can anybody out there throw some light on this problem?

Windows doesn't need drivers to detect a Plug and Play device.

So forget about drivers for the moment....

1) You don't say how you connect the device to your compute. I'll guess USB???

2) Then start with the basics: Are you hearing the USB ding/dong sound affect as you should when connect / disconnect a USB device????

My store bought cds or dvds. Nothing will play. It was working fine as I was able to burn a cd from my music files but now no longer works at all. I recently had the mother board replaced and main power source as well. Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not. All settings I went through and think they are correct but not entirely sure. All drivers come back as working and windows claims all is up to date. If anyone could assist me with this issue I'd be very grateful! Please however try to make the instructions as simple as possible as i'm not too familiar with pc terminolgy yet, lol. Good evening, it has been a while. I got a custom built computer about a year ago so that I can play FSX and P3D reasonably well. Everything seemed to go ok, not great, just ok. This are my specs:
Intel i7 [email protected] - Nvidia EVGA GTX 970 4gb - Asus Z97 Maximus Hero VII - WD black series 1TB HD - Corsair RM series RM850 - Samsung 840 EVO MZ-7TE500BW 500gb SSD.
About a month ago I started to notice that my wifi connection would be lost, then come back on its own. It got worse about two weeks ago, so I tried running the troubleshooter, it failed saying an error prevented it from running. Odd I thought.
I tried running windows updater, it downloaded a number of files to update, but continuosly failed to install 3 of them, apparently related to Microsoft Net Framework.
This morning I decided to uninstall P3D, and install a clean updated version, and the setup failed, never happened before. In the forums it adviced to make sure Direct X9 is installed, tried doing that and it failed as well.
This is very stressful, and affects my immune system, which is not good for me. Can someone here please be kind enough to take some time to help me solev this mess, thanks very much.
This are some logs from what happened today.

Earlier today, Steam was refusing to open so I did a hard reset by disconnecting the battery. Steam worked afterwards but now my computer has no sound. There is a red x next to the speaker in the task bar. When clicking on it it goes directly to "detecting problems" and then states "troubleshooting cannot find the problem."
I did a system restore to 4 days ago and it did not solve the issue.

I downloaded the IDT driver off of hp's website and I get the error message "The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT Software Package" when I attempt an install.
In device manager, under "sound, video and game controllers," I have "intel display audio." When clicking on properties for that it states "the device is working properly."If I go to volume mixer it says "no audio device is installed."

Bluetooth speakers DO work.

My computer has beats audio and the little light under the "b" is not lit, but the computer is running pretty warm underneath the right palm rest, where the audio knob is located.

I have absolutely no idea what to do.

I got a new Dell a few days ago, and it came with Windows Vista already on it. I wanted to put Windows XP on it, after seeing first hand just how horrible Vista was, things locking up, slow loading and shutting down, etc. Anyway, I screwed up, apparently quite badly, and nothing will boot, no matter what I try.

When I try to reinstall Windows Vista from its disk, it can't find any drivers. I searched through the disk called DRIVERS AND UTLILITIES that came with Dell, but that doesn't help, nor does me pointing it to anywhere on its own disk. So, I can't reinstall it, and all the attempts at repairs, and whatnot, have failed.

How do I get it to recognize the Drivers, so it can reinstall?

I have an Inspiron 3847 running Windows 10. We had a power outage today and when I started my computer, Windows no longer recognizes that a speaker is plugged into my jack. I get the red X on the speaker icon in the System Tray.

I'm noticing a really weird problem. I have a thinkpad t60p running winxp pro sp2 with integrated bluetooth.

I have two logitech mice, both with wireless USB receivers, and I like to switch them out because sometimes I feel like using my right hand and sometimes my left.

But sometimes when I unplug a receiver, the computer fails to make the "DING ding" usb device leaving sound. When this happens, all of the usb ports stop working. Reinserting the receiver does not fix the problem. Then after awhile, the bluetooth icon in the tray turns read and pops up an error message complaining about not being able to start the bluetooth service.

I have no idea why bluetooth would have anything to do with these logitech usb receivers, but that's what happens.

At first I thought my only way to fix things was to reboot, but then I noticed that when I shut Outlook (2007) suddenly I get the USB dinging sounds and everything is fixed.

Can anyone tell me what is going on and how I can fix this problem?

Thanks

A:weird, unplug usb receiver and computer doesn't recognize; bluetooth fails

The Bluetooth might be connected internally via USB hubs and when you suddenly unplug the USB stuff, the bluetooth stops working because all the hubs are "disconnected".
As for the USB not working until after Outlook 07 is shut down ... maybe your computer can't handle the process. How long do you wait until you decide to restart?

Greetings, and welcome to TSF!

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

My parents don't have smartphones and from the "new technology" they're just using a laptop(Win 10). Viber will be very handy, considering that we live in a different countries. Is it possible to install it on a laptop without a smartphone? Bluestacks use to do the trick, but not any more. Any ideas?

Hi,
I'm looking for a solution to solve the next problem.
I have a handheld scanner /smartphone (Datalogic Memor)  that i want to use. I want to install the driver for this to put the smartphone as a drive in the filesystem. The supplier of the scanner/smartphone  doesn't supply a driver that  is
working this way.
I've used Windows Mobile Device Center and Synchronisation Center before , and that worked fine. Now i want only to install the driver from the update package  drvupdate-x86.exe.

I don't  get the driver separated from this package unless the fact that i isolated the MSI package out of the driver update package.
It Always seems to install he WMDC application anyway. But in windows 8 that functionality isn't necessary, because i dont want mail, contacts or documents to be synchronised. I just want to browse the file system!

I want to use this solution in our company on windows 8.1 devices.
Please, can anyone help me out here?

Matthijs.

A:Windows fails to start up sometimes, error 6b

IF you are experiencing a BSOD we do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Windows Backup fails with error "unable to write backup files to external drive Q:" message. The primary reason for the backup is multiple large company files in Quickbooks, hence the "Q" drive letter. I've checked other threads and nothing suggested there seems to be relevant to this issue.

It was working up to two weeks ago, running with an every day at 11PM schedule. The Q: drive is a 7 month old 3TB WD with 2.05TB free which tests out as healthy. All files can be accessed on the backup drive up until the date when the backups began to fail to complete.

Specs:
HP EliteBook 840 G1 Laptop

Windows 7 Professional 64
Intel? Core? i5-4210U with Intel HD Graphics 4400 (1.7 GHz, up to 2.7 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 3 MB cache, 2 cores)
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 SDRAM (2 x 4 GB)
14" diagonal HD+ SVA anti-glare flat LED-backlit (1600 x 1900)
180GB SSD

Product# J5Q17UT#ABA

A:Windows Backup fails with error

If the backup drive Q: is formatted FAT32 instead of NTFS, then you would not be able to copy files larger then 4GB
Being a 3TB drive, it should be initialized as GPT instead of MBR. Any drive larger then 2.2TB must be initialized as GPT.
Run Check Disk on the Q: drive. Go to Start/Search and type CMD, Right click the CMD results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Command Prompt type the drive letter for the drive (eg) Q: and press enter. (eg) Q:\> at this prompt type chkdsk /F and press enter. Now type a Y for Yes to Unmount the drive. Check Disk will go through 3 stages.

I've gone through almost all previously posted threads on this topic but none of them really helped me fix the problem. Hence i chose to post it again.

Laptop: Dell Studio 1558 (core i5)
OS: Win 7 Home Premium (pre-installed) 64-bit
Free space on C: = 12GB
No Virus and malware exists

1. "Windows Update" recommended to install SP1 and i chose to go ahead but it failed with error 0x80004005.

2. Then i downloaded windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe (~920MB) and tried to install but failed at 99% (configuring service pack) with same error 0x80004005

3. Then i followed Windows 7 SP1 installation failed with error 0x80004005 E-FAIL - Microsoft Reduce Customer Effort Center - Site Home - TechNet Blogs and did the below

a. Installed "System Update Readiness Tool" (Windows6.1-KB947821-v12-x64.msu - ~ 320MB)
b. ran "sfc/scannow" - it found few errors and fixed automatically.
c. Verified if "0x8004a029" found in cbs.log but it does NOT have any
d. Disabled Symantec AV completely
e. Tried again applying SP1 but again failed at 99% with same error 0x80004005.

Wonder if anyone had success with SP1 inst and I don't want to do fresh reinstallation of OS as I have lot of applications.

Please suggest.

For the last week I've been getting progressively worse errors on my PC and it's now got to the stage where I can't login.

My wife was using the PC as normal and then when she turned the computer off it shut down and installed updates (we had windows automatic update turned on). When we next booted the BIOS checks showed on the monitor as normal, then the windows loading scroll bar appears. However, when the Vista logo would normally appear the monitor loses signal (and goes onto Standby). The computer continued to boot and played the Vista logon sounds, and the hard disk continues to spin before stopping as it normally would shortly after boot.

I was able to restore the screen by unplugging the monitor and plugging it into the other DVI output port on the graphics card - the PC would recognise the "new" monitor (playing the hardware inserted sound) and the picture would reappear. Under the appearance settings it would only show one monitor as attached when plugged into either port.

I also tried booting in safe mode - the monitor worked fine all the way to the windows desktop (although in lower resolution and without the drivers for the graphics card). Subsequent to this I tried a system restore to see if I could identify any installations that would have caused this but the only recent one was the windows update installation. I restored to before the update installed but this didn't solve the problem.

Then things got worse. I ran a full ... Read more

Hi,

I have a android smartphone which I use to run my android applications from my windows 7 dell laptop. This arrangement worked absolutely.I would connect my smartphone to my laptop through a USB and my computer would detect it and I could launch my app on smartphone whenever I want.

Recently I bought a new dell laptop, having windows 8.1 installed. But this new one is giving me too many problems with my smartphone. My smartphone is no more detected as smoothly as with previous one. And laptop frequently gives out a background sound when android device is connected to it.I m really annoyed with all these problems. It is hampering my android development work as device is detected only intermittently.
Please help me.

Although sounds are an issue, this is not really a "sound" problem (this forum section). It is more an application software issue.

I have two laptops that were formerly running Windows 7 Professional Edition x64 on a Server 2008 domain. Because of unsolvable networking issues, both were restored to factory
settings using the Toshiba Recovery Wizard.  The option selected was to recover to factory defaults NOT preserving user data. Everything appeared to run, but both laptops booted into Windows 7 Home Premium x64. That's OK, as we have a use for them off
the domain. My problem now is that I can't run Windows Update on either machine.

Before running Windows Update, the following files are in the Download folder of the Software Distribution folder:
KB958559 (Windows Virtual PC) and KB958488 (Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1).

On launching Windows Update, and checking for updates, I get a message that I need to download an update to Windows Update. I click Update, it starts to check for the update, and errors out with Error 800F0830. Extensive Googling has barely turned up anything
about this error. It doesn't even appear in the troubleshooter list of errors. The Software Distribution folder log shows "Download failed" and error code 800f0830 for KB958559 and KB958488.

I've tried the following steps to troubleshoot:

Removing the driver letter makes the error occur again!

It seems to be somewhat related to the BitLocker driver when booting the machine. It fails validating the boot partition saying its not able to read partition \\?\Volume{....}

A:Windows backup fails with error 0x80070002

A fresh install doesn't create a "hidden boot partition"! Or are you referring to volume "system reserved"? That's not a hidden volume. It's a volume without a drive letter.

I have been having the Windows update problem ( Update Error 80246008) since June. I found this thread

"Windows couldn't start BITS on local computer. For more info refer system log and refer to service specific error code 2147024893".

When I looked at the System event log , it's filled with errors about BITS service. The two errors that appear repeatedly are

1) The Background Intelligent Transfer Service service terminated with service-specific error %%-2147024893

2) The BITS service failed to start. Error 0x80070003

Another thing that I noticed while following Step 2 of the tutorial is, The folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Network\Downloader is present in my system , however I can't access it even using the Admin account. When I try to access it by double clicking on it, I get the following error message

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Network\Downloader refers to a location that is unavailable.

I have also followed the "Windows Update Posting Instructions" and the link to the CBS log file folder is given below. I have posted the link instead of attaching the file as the file size is more than 8 MB

Everytime I try to start my PC it sends me to the same message. "Windows failed to start. A recent software or hardware change blah, blah, blah" we've all seen it at least once. I'm given the usual options (start up repair or normal), but half of the time it freezes whenever I touch the keyboard. If I let it go to repair, it loads as usual, but can't find the problem. Then, "send or dont send" and it shuts down.
Sometimes it doesnt boot at all. Sometimes it wont restart (at least, Im not seeing any activity on my monitor). Sometimes it decides to freeze or restart at random.
I've gone into BIOS and did what I could (set it to default settings and simple stuff like that). No change at all.
I did a few hardware troubleshooting things as well. Checked the cores by pulling them one at a time; checked the wire connections; pulled the CPU and inspected that; checked for signs of physical damage on the motherboard... I did everything I could possibly think of that was within my limited grasp of pc tech.
I've been told everything about what might be wrong ranging from the OS to the motherboard to the CPU. None of these advice givers have experienced the same problem.
So, I was hoping someone out there would have a better understanding in order to, at the very least, be pointed in the right direction. I hope someone can help me out. Thank you.

Hey all,

What a way to kick off my easter long weekend. I woke up on Friday to find that my new computer had frozen over night. It was no big deal so i restarted it and then it would fail to load windows every time. Instead it would just lock up. When it does this i can't even reset it with the reset button or power it off with the power button, i've gotta reach around to my power supply and flip it off. It was about time for a format anyways so i decided to wipe it clean and at about 35 minutes into the install when it's loading up the hardware it freezes up on me again. I've tried several different OS's and none work even knoppix live doesn't work for me. I've tried swapping out the gfx card, WLAN card and i am running a mem test on it right now(memtest-86). It looks like this is the cause of your problems...

Code:
Checking Component Store

This could be a very difficult one to get right, as it's one of the ones for Visual C++ and these updates are a bit of a law unto themselves
I would suggest attempting to uninstall all versions of Visual C 2005 - it should be in your installed Programs listing (leave any other Visual C installs alone such as 2008/2012 etc)
succeed or fail, then run a new CheckSUR scan and post the new log.
