Renew Expired Certificate (Error Event ID 64)

Q: Renew Expired Certificate (Error Event ID 64)

Event Viewer shows the following:

Event ID 64- Certificate for local system with Thumbprint 74 dd 7d 05 71 13 40 f0 fc 32 d0 1b ab 55 95 c8 a4 18 59 18 is about to expire or already expired.

Actions taken:
Identified the certificate then clicked on "All tasks"...

(1) Selected option "Request Certificate With New Key" I got dialogue box that says "Before you begin", there's more but I can't see what's printed after "verify computer is connected to network."

Clicked "NEXT", got error message that says "Request contains no certificate template information"

(2) Tried "Advanced Operation ", Request New Certificate With Same Key" same results as above

Please tell me how to fix this problem....thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Looking for the ability to block websites with invalid certificates. There is a GPO setting that by default is enabled to not allow the ability to bypass a certificate error for revoked certificates. However, this does not work with Expired Certs, Server

Wondering if there is a setting that we can set (via Registry, File, or GPO) to add this additional behavior?

I have a semi-wireless (apparently) connection with a receiver on my terrace from which a cable is sourced to my Laptop.
My ISP authenticates users through a "web dialer" wherein once connection to their Login web page is established, I can login using my credentials and then continue to access the internet..

Now for the past two weeks I've been unable to access even this login page; I assumed it was a problem with my ISP and harangued with them as long as I could, till I found that my neighbor (who also has his receiver on the terrace) had minimal problems in connecting via the same ISP.

Now coming to the Browser specific issues, Today I was just playing around with the 'Security' and 'Content' options of IE7 and I reset all settings to default values.. Soon after, I was able to connect to the login page successfully, albeit with a security certificate error and after ignoring the warning I'm able to connect to the Login page.

In specific , whenever I try to reach my Login page now (through which my ISP provides internet access), I get the following error:

I am trying to install a program on my laptop. i know its safe, its just old, the certificate date expired a couple years ago, so windows will not install it. How do I change the expiration date on a certificate?

A:expired certificate

It's not always a matter of it being "safe". It's a method of controlling a software license to prevent use.

For example: you buy a 1 year lic of application A. The lic will expire in one year. To continue using the application, you need to renew the license.

Per the forum rules, we cannot assist with what could be illegal activities.

As far as I know, you can't eliminate the message. It's up to the site to "fix " their certificates. The one thing you can do is, if you have the sites bookmarked as favorites, try not using the favorite and going directly to the site. You may have an old URL bookmarked.

Click on the YES button when asked to download Microsoft's update package. Microsoft will create a customized update package for your browser, which should include a CA Root update. Typically this is found under the heading Recommended Updates.

If you are still having problems, check in the "Favorites" folder to see if you have paypal or something like that in there. Delete it.

I've got a warning on my ISA server that my mail certificate is going to run out in a months time.

I've been reading posts saying that I need to go into certificates, current user and find the certificate, however for this particular one, on all of my servers apart from my main domain controller, the certificate authority pops up saying 'the specified service does not exist as an installed service'

When I load up the certificate authority on my domain controller, I get a different view and not the current user/personal and so on, but revoked/issud/pending and so on.

I can however click on the main section of this (domain name) and right click and all tasks, renew, but it warns me to stop the certfication service. Not sure if this is the right way to do it.

Can someone advise please.

Thanks

Why does Windows 8 User Access Control (UAC) provide an invalid security certificate to verify OS changes? Why has Microsoft? refused to update this certificate and give it valid dates? This undercuts Microsoft?'s software assurance scheme. Nowhere in the Security Certificate article in Windows? Help did I find any recommendation to trust a certificate past its "Vaid to" date.

My PC with Windows? 8 OS was bought from a local Staples office supply store off-the-shelf in factory-sealed carton on November 21, 2013. The PC was un-boxed by this end-user; Windows? 8 was activated online with Microsoft?; and the product was registered online with the OEM, h-p, on Nov. 22, 2013. After activation, all patches and other software pushed by Windows? Update were installed in November and December 2013.

Microsoft? Windows? UAC always required the end-user as administrator to accept responsibility for approving the installing of any patch or update or other change to the system software. In January, 2014, and ever since then, it was noticed that UAC provided a Security Certificate for assurance of the software quality, but the Certificate was no longer within its valid dates. The certificate provided in UAC specified that it was Valid from: 4/12/2012, and Valid to: 7/9/2013. The system was sold as new on November 21, 2013, more than four months after the validity expired, for this Certificate issued to Microsoft? Windows? by the Microsoft? Windows Production PCA 2... I have an external hard drive that has been encrypted using BitLocker.  It has both Smart Card and Data Recovery Agent key protectors applied to it.  Based on the certificate thumbprint, it is using an expired certificate. I was able to retrieve
the certificate with private key from another computer, and I have imported it into my certificate store on this system. When I enter the command (manage-bde -unlock g: -cert -ct <certificate thumbprint>), I get the error message that "The certificate
failed to unlock Volume G:". I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.  Should the certificate be in a particular store? Should it be in the local computer store or my personal store? I looked at the certificate. When I look at the general tab for the
certificate, it says "you have a private key that corresponds to this certificate".  When I look at the thumbprint on the details tab, it matches the one that I see listed after typing this command: manage-bde -protectors -get g:
I know there must be something I'm overlooking but I'm not sure what.

have. The certificate with the relevant thumbprint expired over 12 months ago (15 months to the day).
The expired certificate with the correct thumbprint shows as having a private key but will not allow me to export with private key.

Hi,
I'm running MS ATA 1.9.7312.32791 and haven't had any issues for close to two years.
I noticed yesterday that I didn't receive my daily emails from MS ATA so this morning I checked the ATA server and my event log is full of this message:
The Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics Center service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 14 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
I went and checked the log files and in the Errors log file I see this message logged over and over:
Error [CertificateExtension] Microsoft.Tri.Infrastructure.Utils.ExtendedException: There are no matching certificates [StoreLocation=LocalMachine StoreName=My thumbprint=660CXXXXXX]
So I checked the certificates on the server and I can't find a certificate with the thumbprint of 660CXXXXXX.
If I look in MMC I do see the certificate for the server and it has shows that it was recently renewed (probably automatically thru Active directory)
I can't access the ATA website on the server to specify the new certificate.
How can I fix this?  Do I need to re-install ATA.  If I re-install will I lose all the information that has already been collected?
Thanks in advance,
Nick

I have some Windows 7 systems which have not run Windows Updates for many years, and cannot due to regulatory reasons.   We rely upon Windows to automatically update the Trusted Root Certificate store whenever we browse to a web site/web service
that uses a certificate the system doesn't recognize.
Sometime recently, the Trusted Root Certificate Store no longer updates automatically.  The Windows Event Log shows an error stating that the certificates cannot be downloaded from:
http : // ctldl.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab
If we browse to this location manually, the cab file contains an invalid Microsoft certificate.

This was also an issue in Sept 2018.  At that time, the certificate had expired, and Microsoft eventually updated the certificate to resolve the issue.   This time, the certificate does not appear to have expired.  Why is the certificate
invalid this time, and can Microsoft fix it again?

Thanks

In Internet Explorer, when I get a certificate error, if I continue to the web site, I can then view the certificate to see what was wrong.  However, obviously it would be preferable* to see the certificate
before I make the decision to go to the site.  Is this possible?  I'm sure I could use another browser that does this, or maybe use the F12 developer tools, or write a program.   But I'm looking
for a normal-user way to do it.  I think it used to be possible in Internet Explorer, but this might have been 6.x or even earlier.  Or even
way earlier.  Yep.  I'm that old.  I believe this feature is not in Edge either...unless I'm just missing it.  But I'm using ie11 right now.

Hello,

I am trying to resolve an issue where multiple client computers in the organisation are using an internally deployed Root CA certificate (before my time and no longer required) to sign the end entity certificate for external websites, google.co.uk
for example. All SSL sites appeared to be affected by this.

However this is not the case as sub domains of sites with issues show the correct cert chain, the below is for mail.google.com

Removing or untrusting this root ca cert breaks access to these sites.

I have reset root certs in various ways, removed machines from the domain, applied no GPOs, manually updated CRL and pulled down updated certs with rootsupd.exe.
It always attempts to use this rouge CA cert to sign the websites cert.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

So that pops up once i get my old tower/cpu running up. It hasnt been touched since 2006 so i forgot the password. Any help to get around this? Plus, please tell me how to get around this without a windows cd or to use money. Thanks!!

A:"Your password has expired. Please enter your password and renew."

By default Windows passwords will never expire unless set by an Admin on a corporate network or set by yourself. Is it the Windows account password you are talking about?

If so the only help that we can provide for resetting the password is by using this tutorial - Reset User Account Password

My apologies for the limited help but I cannot provide any other methods as this would violate certain legislation

Hope This Helps,
Josh

A:System Error - Event Category (102) - Event ID 1003 Windows OS

are these errors occurring out of the blue or do they happen when you run certain things? did you recently install new drivers or updates? posting the full specs of your machine and which operating system would also be helpful.
