I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi:

I've created a form in Access-2013 and placed record navigation buttons (using the button wizard) in the footer to allow the user to scroll through the records. They are the usual buttons and function as you would expect:

<< | < | > | >>[/FONT]

Problem is that when a user is on the last record in the table and clicks the ''right" button (in red above), the form displays a blank record. This is normal behavior for Access (as far as I know) and as long as a user enters NO DATA in ANY field, Access does not write the record to the table.

Given that users may be less than astute , I would like to eliminate the possibility of them creating a "blank" record in the table.

Is there anyway to stop this default behavior in Access?

Thanks
RonK

Hello All,
I have this database I built for all my music CDs. It is searchable by artist, date recorded, venue, city , state, notes and track title. The search works fine but I have one issue. I use a subform for all the track titles and it displays the correct songs for the CD. However, I get a record for each song. So if one CD has 16 songs I get 16 records for that CD. In my sample dB I have 7 CDs but it shows 117 records because that is the sum of all the songs on those 7 CDs. I want it to show only the 7 CD records and not a record for each song and still be searchable. I can make it show the way I want but then I can't search by song title. I attached my condensed database version to look at in case my description seems a bit convoluted. Thanks.

I have a form which has a subform called SearchMainSub with displays data from the following:

Me![SearchMainSub].Form.RecordSource = MyRecordSource

If Me![SearchMainSub].Form.RecordsetClone.RecordCount = 0 Then
'MsgBox "No Maintenace Records Found", 48, "No Records Found"
Me!Clear.SetFocus
Else

'Enable control in detail section

The problem that I am having is that it only displays the first record. I have tired all of the options in the data field for RecordSet Type. It still only displays the first record. Anyone have any ideas? I hope this one is as easy as the other question I asked.

ASP using an access db. I have create a recordset that will return a single record and I'm trying to retrieve that record. When I try to get the record it won't retrieve that value. This is only happening when it is one record in the recordset. The recordset is not at BOF or EOF. Do anyone have any solutions or other alternatives. Need help ASAP, I have been working on this for several days. Below is the code:

Set rsHotFix2 = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
rsHotFix2.ActiveConnection = MM_AMT_DTS_STRING
rsHotFix2.Source = "SELECT Max([CID]) AS LastCID, SID FROM TCO_Contractors Group By LastCID, SID HAVING (TCO_Contractors.SID= "&rsHirerachy__MMColParam&")"
rsHotFix2.CursorType = 0
rsHotFix2.CursorLocation = 2
rsHotFix2.LockType = 1
rsHotFix2.Open()

if rsHotFix2.bof and rsHotFix2.eof then

response.write "Recordset Is Empty"
else
response.write "Recordset Is Not Empty"
response.write rsHotFix2.Fields(0) & "<BR>"
response.write rsHotFix2.Fields("LastCID") & "<BR>"
response.write rsHotFix2.Fields.Item("LastCID") & "<BR>"
response.write rsHotFix2("LastCID") & "<BR>"
end if
This is what's display on the page

Notice it does display the CID value.

I have been having a running battle with sound cards. I have limited experience so bearwith me, please. My sound card went bad during my Win 98SE days and I replaced it with a Sound Blaster 16 PCI and everything was cool. I installed WinXP Home. I wanted to record something but couldn't get it to record. I took the old mic which I had used with the old sound card to Radio Shack and it checked out OK.. Then learned that SB 16 PCI is not compatible with XP. Thought that was my problem and bought a Diamond DT 688 card and got the same result. Still thinking it was a sound card problem I bought a Philips Sonic Edge which is supposedly compatible with XP. I still can't record with the mic or from line in. I have gone to the volume controls and checked for mute, low volume settings. etc. I have gone to the Sounds and Audio Devices in Control Panel and checked the Audio Tab for playback and recording devices and they seem right. I am running out of ideas. Could this be a motherboard problem or am I missing something? If I hook a cassette player up to line in it will play through the speakers but it will not record.

Hello

Here is my problem....I went to record on the sound recorder today and it would not record anything...so I went into my adjust audio properties and under playback it says perferred device SB16 wave out (220) and the button next to it is colored then recording says the same SB16 wave out (220) but it is faded...I can not click on the button next to it like I can on the playback...so I figure that is why I can Not record but how do I fix this? It is almost like I have to go somewhere eles to select a recording option in order for it to "lite up" like the playback button is...let me know how in the world I fix this so I can record...thank you in advance.

Hi,

I've never used any PVR (personal video recording) hardware and software before. I want to try it now because there is an awesome drama I have on VHS tape that I want to transfer to DVDs.

So, I went searching and decided that a HAUPPAUGE WINTV PVR 250 TV TUNER PCI CARD would do the job. On the TV tuner card itself, I see it has many connections like:

(1) Coaxial Connector - Input only
Used for cable television and satellite boxes with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center only.

(2) S-Video Connector - Input only
Used for cable television and satellite boxes with Windows XP Media Center only.

(3) Composite Video - Input only

(4) Left Audio Channel Jack - Input only

(5) Right Audio Channel Jack - Input only

What I'm wondering is, if I want to put my VHS tape in the VCR and want to record it, how would I make the necessary connections?

My VCR has the video, left audio, and right audio ports in the back. Would I, then, connect these 3 cables from the back of my VCR to the correspondings slots on the TV tuner card? Would this mean that I don't have to connect my TV to the tuner card??

Or, do I have to connect the video cable from VCR to TV tuner card but connect the left and right audio from VCR to my onboard sound card??

The TV card comes with DVD authoring software that will detect/auto scan for signal sources and output the display on my monitor.

Can anyone explain to me how this will work??

I'm new to this site... I have been trying to figure this out for months now. I am trying to get my recorded TV shows to my PC so I can get rid of the commercials and put them on DVD's. I have an Intel Core2 Duo/(6400) 2.13Ghz, 2Gb Ram, with Win Xp Pro V 2002 (SP2), 250 Gb HD, NVidia Geforce 7600 GT and Hauppauge WinTV PVR 500 Dual tuner TV card.I have Dish Network with locals, tried hooking up the coax from the main satellite line at first (right out of the wall) and got no signal at all on my pc. Then realized it wasn't going through the smartcard... so I ran the splitter from the back of the TV instead. Now I can get reception on the pc (using either coax from the splitter or A/V cables direct from the back of the satellite box). So far, I have gotten this much to work with ORB 2.0Here's the issue: It will ONLY show me the channel that is currently displayed on the television (or the dish box...same thing) at that time, and when this does work, it's very choppy at times. I do get the correct cable guide displayed on the pc, with all the correct information, but no matter which channel I try to open (if it opens) it always shows me only what is on my tv.Does anyone have any other ideas? What software can I use to transfer the shows to the PC, and edit the commercials out?? ALL information I can find refers to Windows Media Center Edition! THANK YOU!!!Moderator Edit: Moved topic to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

A:Record Tv To Pc-on Xp Pro

I understand that a program called Video Redo can scan an MPEG-2 file (that has been captured) and automatically mark the start and end of commercials which allows you to easily edit them out using its built-in editor. The trick will be how to capture to an MPEG-2 file. Does your satellite set top box have an S-video output ? Your capture card should be able to accept this kind of input and the accompanying software should let your capture to MPEG-2.Keep in mind that the MPEG from your satellite receiver is not MPEG-2, but what is refered to as "MPEG-1.5" which was developed and rushed to market before MPEG-2 became a standard. Recording from an analog output may be your only viable option, though not a bad one at all. A quick look at your capture card shows an S-video connector, a good sign. Also keep in mind that this card and probably its software, or lack of software, is directed at XP MCE users, not XP Home/Pro users. However, I also expect a company like Hauppauge would create some means for a Home/Pro user to fully use their card. One note in the product page: "Note: when using the WinTV-PVR-500 MCE with WindowsXP or Vista Home Basic, you need a third party TV application such as SageTV or BeyondTV". This may be the "missing link" you need.

Hi all

Is there any inexpensive way of recording from TV to PC?

At the moment I have a DVD Recorder with Hard Drive but its quite a few years old now and it records via Scart which in all honesty, means the picture quality is pretty poor.

Ive just got Netflix so the plan is to get my old PC and connect that via a DVI to HDMI cable so I can run Netflix that way on the TV rather than through the Wii.

Admittedly i dont use the Recorder frequently and i dont have Sky+.  Yes I know there a lots of catchup options now hence me not using the Recorder regularly.

Ive seen a couple of items on Ebay but im not entirely sure how they work or even if its possible to do.  This is to record from TV channels and not Netflix I must add.

Ebay items ive seen: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Video-Capture-TV-Tuner-Cards-/3761/i.html?_from=R40&_sop=2&LH_ItemCondition=1000&LH_BIN=1&_nkw=pc+tv+card&LH_PrefLoc=1

My old Vortex card went bad and I installed a Dinamond DT-688 which is all I need since I am not a gamer. Seems to work in every way except for recording with the mic. I checked the mike at Radio Shack and it worked on the stereo. I have an old mic with a quarter inch plug and use a reducer to plug it into the computer. I recorded OK with the old Vortex card, but it isn't working with the new Diamond. I have checked all the volume controls I can find and they are all turned up as high as I can get them. The first few times I tried I got a very low level recording which required turning the volume up full to be able to hear it. Now it doesn't sppear to be recording at all. Could it be a bad card or could the reducing adapter be bad? I am stumped/

Hi all, I am not too familiar with SPF records, i just know they ensure that the sending server for a particular domain is authorized to send mail etc (at least i think, let me know if i am wrong).

My mail is hosted with Office 365, and when i set this up it asked me to create an SPF record on the domain which was the following:

v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all

Can someone let me know what the above does? I though it would allow mail to be send that is routed through office 365 servers but mail being sent from my domain elsewhere would fail, is this not what is happening?

I only ask because I have a Joomla website that can send out messages using PHP mail and it sends out successfully, i would of thought that it would have failed with a correct SPF record that only allows office 365 to send mail. Could someone clear this up for me.

The domain is animalsanctuary.org.uk if that helps!

A:SPF Record Help

SPF records don't block outgoing mail traffic -- they simply signal to other mail servers that email being sent from that mail server is legit. It is up to the other mail servers to determine whether or not to block those incoming emails that don't have SPF records configured. Any email sent through Office 365 will have a proper SPF record; anything sent using PHP won't. This may cause email being sent out by the Joomla server to be blocked when it tries to send email to certain mail servers.

You should be able to configure your PHP mail with an SMTP relay through Office 365 if you are worried about mail from the Joomla website being blocked for a lack of an SPF record.

Hi!

The problem is in the title. My computer will not record anything. Not from a cassette deck, neither from a microphone. There were two things I did before even trying to record anything, perhaps it screwed something up.
1. I installed VLC media player (to be able to watch video DVDs - other progrms refused to do it on this computer. It was a drag.)
2. I installed Sound Forge 7.0. A mistake I guess, seems it's not compatible. I uninstalled the program, but it didn't help.

Otherwise the sound works, the mic also - with Winamp shoutcast for example. But it won't record. It might be that it would, but for some reason the recording sound level is frozen at close to 0 level and it won't budge - in Sound Recorder that is, a program that came preinstalled. In the shop they've tried to help, but to no avail, and if I got it right they could not change the recording sound level for Windows Movie Maker, which they used to test the problem. The recording level in the sound options in control panel is on max, but it doesn't help. What to do?

Oh yes, and it just stopped voice info om avast updates. Just some days ago. But maybe that's not related.

I'm no computer wizzard, so if someone could help in a simple English...

xp - sp2, all updates

The workgroup has two computers (and a router).

DHCP Scope is aaa.bbb.ccc.100 - aaa.bbb.ccc.110

Router is aaa.bbb.ccc.1

All are in the same subnet.

Until yesterday, both computers could see each other, could share files and printers, and could connect to each other via Remote Desktop. I obviously screwed up something, somehow (or my daughter did...) What happened is a mystery, and the results are most perplexing.

Computer X is inaccessible from computer Y for a really strange reason: DNS thinks the IP of computer X is aaa.bbb.ccc.99 . The correct IP for Computer X is aaa.bbb.ccc.100

From computer Y, if I ping computer X by hostname,

the ping fails.
the ping reports the wrong IP: aaa.bbb.ccc.99

From computer Y, if I ping computer X by IP aaa.bbb.ccc.100, the ping succeeds AND reports the correct IP (duh!) - aaa.bbb.ccc.100

On the router/DHCP server both computers are listed and both show the correct IP

I think the problem is the A (host) record in the DNS Resolver Cache on Computer Y

On computer Y

ipconfig /displaydns shows the incorrect IP for Computer X (it shows aaa.bbb.ccc.99)
the A record on the routing table shows the incorrect IP for Computer X (it shows aaa.bbb.ccc.99)
I have tried a series of diagnostics from computer Y:
ipconfig /displaydns shows the wrong IP for Computer X
ipconfig /flushdns doesn't help
ipconfig /registerdns doesn't help

I've had HP Record Now in for almost a year, it came with my HP cd burner, and was simple to use. But now I have something better, that does more. I don't use the Record Now, so decided to take it out.

I've been going in circles!

Taking it out in Add/Remove programs, it starts to uninstall then says "put in disk one". I only have one cd that came with it, so put that in, (thinking it's required to uninstal) and it seems to install it.

I think I have it out, I've even deleted the actual file in PROGRAMS. But whenever I put the computer on, a box comes up saying the installation isn't complete and put in disk one. I click "cancel" and a larger error message comes up saying the installation wasn't complete and the reminder will come on next time I start the computer.

I'm not an expert at finding and removing/changing settings, but I have learned some. I RUN and MSCONFIG STARTUP and uncleck the HP setup box, apply, restart pc, etc.

The next time I put it on again, it starts all over and the box in MSCONFIG-STARUP is checked again.

If I don't cancel the setup, it asks for the disk again, and installs it all over again, and I go to add/remove programs (doesn't seem to be an uninstal anywhere else) and it starts all over. The uninstall asks for the disk before it continues and puts it in again.

I'm thinking reg key? But, don't want to mess with the reg, unless I have exact instructions.

Try re-installing Record Now. It may be that something necessary to uninstall it got corrupted somewhere along the line and a success reinstall will replace it...which will then let you uninstall it properly.

I have the simple 6.7.0 which came bundled with my XP PC.

Under "Audio for car or home CD players"...

I have a list of files in the left column which can be transferred easily to the right "burn" column.

I have an "X" delete button for the right column and I an delete whatever I want in this "music to burn" column. However, no matter what I try, I cannot clear the left "view / find", "music on system" column.

I exit, and it stays. That column is impenitrable.

In the General option, "Don't remember pending projects when RecordNow exits" box is checked. I've tried it with it unchecked.

Still the left "music on system" column cannot be cleared.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Sorry I don't use that software but I did find this site that might help you http://support.sonic.com/desktop/dow...e=professional.

I have been recording using Audacity and have had no problems until today. I can't get anything to record. I have checked the sound settings and nothing is muted. I can get sound out of my speakers when I playback audio files but not when I record.

My OS is XP.

Please advise.

Thanks

Do I have to convert the MP3 to a different file type in order to record/burn to a CD? If so, what type of program do I use?

Or do I just drag and drop to a CD-Writer blank CD using easy CD creator program.

Thanks.

A:Record MP3 to CD

MP3s will transfer directly as data with EZCD Creator.

Hello,
I have been using the MC in win7 to watch Live TV and it has been working fine. Then one day, I go to turn it on and I get a blue box that says "CANNOT RECORD" with an ok button. Press the OK button and noting happens. Meanwhile the TV is playing perfectly fine behind it. Any ideas as to why it is doing this? Any ideas on how to get rid of the box?

Thanx in advance

Hi all,
downloaded a couple of multitrack recording programs, but can't get any signal. My mic in is fine, coming through the speaker and all, but I noticed that the Realtek HD Audio Manager will only let me adjust the playback, and NOT the record. I reckon this could be the problem! Any suggestions how to fix it please?
Cheers,
Mark

A:Can't Record Myself!

Please read THIS entire thread (I just did)
It sounds like the exact same issue, that realtek cannot fix

Do you think this applies to your card to.

Also are you able to post your card model number etc.
Not sure if others have any more suggestions, but you may receive more replies.

Is there a way to record available episodes from Fox.? When you go to the networks website they usually allow you to view episodes of their programs.

A:Record Fox, CBS, etc.

There are a few programs that let you record what's on your screen if that's what you want. One of the better free ones is http://camstudio.org/ , not sure how good it'll work for what you intend though. I'm sure there are other alternatives so just google around.

We are told that cookies are intended to enhance our web experience.

I recently happened upon a site by the usual route of clicking on interesting links in other sites. The site in question is " How stuff Works" and I was amazed to find that it loads SIX varying spyware cookies per page.!!!

They were blocked by Lavasoft's AdWatch so the Lavasoft programmers obviously think this stuff is not intended for my benefit. If anyone is interested the cookies included the following;

Doubleclick (1)
Fastclick (1) & (2)
Hitbox (1)
w.131.Hitbox
Served by advertising (1) & (2)
Advertising (2)
Zedo (1)

Just how does this overkill help me.? Each of these cookies uses my limited bandwidth to report back on my surfing habits. Lucky I don't spend too much time on those Swedish sites eh?

A:Is this a record?

TOGG
Unfortunatly having all those advertising spyware cookies does nothing for your system or for you but does help keep the supplying site free and accessable to everyone. I do not condone this activity and I am happy others are finding out about it and removing them from their personal systems. In ranking though the ones listed are minor in comparison to some of the stuff supplied by Webmasters.
Just my two cents!

Hi every body

I have a problem with record from pc ,

Actually I would like to record by JetAudio which I did in win xp ,

but now in win7 I faced problem with program :

A:No Record from PC

Two issues. (1) Does Jet Audio have a Win 7 compatible version? Some of the audio functions are handled differently in Vista and Win 7 from XP. (2) I see you do not have the System Mixer, this could be the problem.

You failed to fill out the System Specs so we can comment directly on what sound you have. But, look for a new/updated sound driver as that MAY give you the System Mixer capability (what SoundBlaster calls "what you hear").

Hi there

I have a load of avi files that I want to convert and burn to DVD so I can a) remove them from my PC and free up some much needed space, and b) watch them on a normal DVD player and TV.

I have a CD writer drive on my PC, but not a DVD burner. However, I do have a recordable DVD player linked to my TV. Can anyone advise me how I set about transferring all these avi files to DVD? I wonder if I can link up my DVD recorder to my PC with the use of some kind of lead, perhaps from Maplin or Radio Shack?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks folks.

A:How do I record .avi to dvd?

You may be able to use the composite out (yellow) and a headphone to RCA cable (red and white) to run to those inputs on your dvd recorder. I've never heard of anyone doing that, but people output to tvs that way so it might work. You'd just need to have the resolution set to something low like 800x600 and fullscreened the video when you start recording. Would be interesting to see if that works......

Or you could pay $25 and get a DVD burner, then use some software like ConvertXtoDVD which is incredibly easy to use. You can do it with free software too, but it can get complex quickly. Lots of tutorials on doom9.org

We host our own email server and published an SPF record on our DNS server. However, it would appear this SPF record is not being seen by recipients, as shown by dnsreports.com. Exact report:

Your domain does not have an SPF record. This means that spammers can easily send out E-mail that looks like it came from your domain, which can make your domain look bad (if the recipient thinks you really sent it), and can cost you money (when people complain to you, rather than the spammer). You may want to add an SPF record ASAP, as 01 Oct 2004 was the target date for domains to have SPF records in place (Hotmail, for example, started checking SPF records on 01 Oct 2004).

Any ideas why its not being seen? Thanks.

William
