I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just want to comment on this - because I'm having the same issue.  I've used the laptop for a number of months without crashing issues, and it seems to have cropped up pretty recently.

I think it might have something to do with the driver version?  It also only seems to happen with certain games.  In particular, War Thunder and GTA4.  I play Dota 2 quite a bit and don't seem to have any problems at all.

Hi,I have a problem when playing any games with SLI enabled. Games crashes at random times, sometimes even after ~5mins. So at that specific time the screen goes black and the game minimizes (or I try to minimize it by myself). After that the message pops out saying "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered". I have latest Nvidia drivers (v344.11). I'm running Windows 8.1 x64. The problem occured with any version of display drivers I've installed so far.

Hi all. I just bought my Y510P from a guy on craiglsist who had barely used the laptop. (Like turned it on once and then put it in the corner for a year and a half)  When I got it, the guy had restored everything to the factory settings which was just Windows 8.1. My first problem is that the computer keeps defaulting to use the HD 4600 instead of the 755M that I have set as the default graphics card in NVIDIA Control Panel. I disabled the 4600, but then the computer was super slow. Any idea why this is happening? My second problem is that I can't find anything to speed up the fans so that the computer will automatically overclock the i7. I'm tempted to slowly force it to overclock and have the fan speed increase with the temperature, but I'm afraid that I'm going to break something that way.  If anyone knows of a way to control the fan speed then that would be great. Thanks. Computer specs: Lenovo Y510Pi7-4700MQ8GB RAM1TB HDD24GB SSD (PCIe)Intel HD 4600 Graphics and GT 755M

Hello all,  Has anyone tried Golf Club 2 on a Lenovo Y510p (i7 4702mq, GT 755m SLI, 8GB Ram)? If so, what are your experiences so far? Does the game run well on this system? The laptop seems to meet the recommended system recuirements for the game (with 2 GT755m's on sli), but I'm not sure what to make of that.  Thanks in advance.

Hello, Last week i received my Y510P from a reseller here in Lithuania, and ran into a *slight* problem. When playing more demanding games (though i wouldnt call borderlands 2 a very demanding game), the screen freezes and the sound hangs. Occasionally the display would turn pitch black (sometimes the drivers just reset with screen backlight still on). I checked memory, sshd, cpus and main gpus for errors, but none were found. I have no idea how to test the ultrabay though... Temps are pretty high, but definetly not critical. CPU runs below 85c under load, main gpu runs at around 75c, only ultrabay runs hotter, but i've seen people saying that theirs run above 95c and it still works fine. Mine usually crashes when it reaches 91-93c. It reaches those temps in about 30-60 minutes, steadily heating up.  I tried removing and re inserting, but it didnt have any effect. Im stumped. Sorry for rambling on so long. I hope somebody can help me pinpoint the problem, and maybe help fix it. Thanks. System specs:Win 8.1 proIntel core I7 4700MQ 2.4ghzNvidia GT 755m SLI8GB ram1TB+8gb SSHDAll drivers are up to date.

It seems that re-pasting the ultrabay, and increasing TdrDealy to 8 fixed the problem, but i believe it's something more serious than that...

i had bought the lenovo z-51 70 about a year ago. here are the specs:5th gen i7 5500u graphics card, amd radeon r9 m375 4gb graphics card, 8 gb ram. 1 tb storage. when i play games, the laptop overheats as soon as the game starts. i used both HW monitor and speed fan to monitor the temperature.the HW monitor displayed the following temperatures ( all temperatures in celcius) when gaming cpu temperature : 80 degrees to 90 degrees.graphics card temperatures: 80 degree to max of 97 degree sometimes reaching 100 degreesoverall laptop temperatures: around 35 degress. ( something called z51-00 and z51-01  temperature sensors) the speed fan displayed the following temp under the same conditions:cpu temp : 65 to 70 degreesgraphics card temps: 80 degree to max of 97 degree . all my drivers, bios, software are up to date.(last updated on 3 spetember 2016) should i stop using the laptop to play games when such heating occurs.? will it burn my cpu if i continue to play games? is it safe? the fans are running at max speed i presume because i can feel hot air coming from the exhaust slits. but i cant find a software to measure the rpm of the fan. speed fan does not detect the fan in the system nor its speed. what should i do to prevent this over heating from occuring? should i buy cooling pads or should i add more ram or should i stop playing using graphic intensive applications all together?

Completely normal. For web browsing with 10 tabs or more plus mp3 / flash player music, mid 40s is completely normal. I get the same readings for my 2.2 year old Y470. I'd be concerned with Full load temps when encoding videos that use all threads such as Handbrake because my Core Temp reaches to 90 - 93 degrees Celsius (Turbo Boost is always ON).

Hi Guys,

I have a 8800gtx in my set up for the past 3 yrs everything has been fine until yesterday (oct 25). I was playing a video game when it suddenly crashed, not to the blue screen of death, but to a black screen with fuzzy blue dots everywhere, slowly covering the screen.

Now when I turn my system on its fine for 5 minutes or so, then the blue dots start appearing, eventually making it imposible to see.

This is clearly a graphics card issue, so can it be fixed? What steps should I take? Also:

1) Where do I check it in the bios? NOT where is the bios, but where IN the bios do I check it.
2) Is there a way to run the cpu w/out the graphics card? Im an internet marketer and have a lot of tools on it that i need to use, but i dont need to play games on it
3) Should i Under-clock it?
4) Should i say hell to it and buy a new one?

please note: yes its seated properly, yes i cleaned it off, yes the fan works, no the cpu does not over heat, yes it has the most current drivers

A:GRAPHIC CARD overheating

well does the graphics card have a fan on it? if it does check to see if its working properly I had the same problem with my old PC and the fan completely stopped.

My computer has 3 fans (1 blows air in,1blows out,1blows air around inside)also theres a fan on the graphic card and a heat sink. Ive moved most of the wires so they aren't touching the graphic card. Im also using gamebooster.I need help, i've tried opening the side of the computer and cleaning all the dust out still not helping.

A:Graphic card overheating

Maybe the TIM on the graphics card heat sink has dried out. You'll need to remove the heat sink, clean the remnants of old TIM and apply a fresh coat.

Okay,I have started realising that my relatively new graphic card 650 gtx(only three months old, bought it at december 2012 around christmas) has been giving me issues.First,it was purple text while surfing the net.Second, while i was playing World Of Tanks on minimum settings,I had 2 computer crashes where the whole system rebooted itself.Third, while playing World Of Tanks,i had 3 boxes of distorted graphics. So I have now figured that my graphic card has probably overheated a little bit.I used to own a Geforce 560 gtx which was so much more heat stable and I can pretty much run BF3 on High Settings for 8-10Hours straight without overheating but the card fried when i played AC1 on high sadly and had to downgrade.

My question is this, should i get this gpu fixed or should i buy something better, more heat stable?

These temperatures are not so high. My 4 month old GTX 690 sometimes reach 80?C when 100% loaded in benchmarks, and stays at 38?-40?C in idle.

Hey Everyone, I've recently noticed my laptop slowing as I played games like h1z1 on the lowest setting. Eventually, I would get error messages about my GPU when the game would crash. I noticed my drivers were out of date and SLI was also not enabled. I have since updated the drivers and enabled SLI but I still get many of the same problems.  The laptop has two GeForce GT 750M's. I downloaded MSI afterburner and it shows both graphics cards at 135/405MHz at rest. But while gaming, the second graphics card remains at that same amount and relatively the same temperature while graphics card number one goes to about 1058/2499MHz and 75-90 degrees C temperatures. I've also taken out the ultrabay with graphics card number 2 out and put it back in to make sure it wasn't loose. I honestly don't know what any of the data really means, but I'm really hoping to get this fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Let me know if I can provide any more information!

Hello, I have a ?Y510P Leonovo Ideapad? and found out, that the mainboard contains an empty port-connector labeled with ?SSD?. A picture of this connector is in the attached image. I am planning to upgrade the Laptop with an SSD-card to improve system speed. Within this context I have a couple of questions, regarding the specifications of this port and suitable SSD-cards: Does this port both accept SATA as well as PCIe SSD-cards?Is there a limitation on the maximum memory-size of the installed SSD-card? Can I install a 256GB SSD-card? (For example ?Transcend MTS400 256GB SSD?) ?Can I partition the SSD-card in a way to fully install Windows 10 on it, making it the boot partition. The SSD-card should then be visible as a standard drive C:\ under Windows. Can I also install a second operating system (Linux) onto a second partition on the SSD-card, making it a dual boot system?I would be very happy, if anyone could help me with these questions, so that I can upgrade the laptop with the appropriate SSD-card and configuration. Thanks in advance,electron8000

Hello.
There's going to be a lot of guessing from my part in this post, and the post will be lengthy -I apologize for that.

My old computer (Asus rampage II Extreme, Intel i7 920) recently died. I believe the north bridge on the motherboard overheated and fried. (Not sure, wasn't able to test all the parts.)

I decided to buy a new motherboard, and while I was at it I bought a new CPU and RAM as well (since the old wouldn't fit the new mobo anyway). My old computer were about 5 years old or so, so a hardware update was due anyway.
I had to settle for somewhat cheap parts, since my budget won't allow the parts I really want right now.

At first I thought that my old mobo's chipset fried because they were old. But when I got the new parts and installed them I notice that one of the chipset coolers (I think it's a chipset cooler at least - I also believe it's the north bridge) is running very hot when I'm gaming. (I opened my computer and the cooler is too hot to touch - while I can touch the Graphics Card cooler.)

I noticed while playing CS: GO last night that I sometimes got random "freeze lag". I asked if anyone else got it too, and they said no (so I'm thinking it was a hardware problem for me, not a connection or server problem like I was hoping for.)
My FPS were between 120-250 at all time, so I'm guessing my Graphic Card were working just fine.

So here's my conclusion: Since the old chipset overheated and the new one seems to be running unnaturally hot - mayb... Read more

A:Chipset overheating - Graphic Card to blame?

A larger issue exists with gamers than with most consumers in that the games demand better quality parts, particularly with the power supply. Insufficient power to the motherboard can cause heat issues. Most of the add-in graphics cards specify a minimum power supply and as a rule-of-thumb when I see gaming issues is to install a power supply rated at 150% of what the card suggests, e.g. a 450Watt unit instead of a 300Watt unit.

In other terms it's like a car, the faster it's pushed or the harder it has to work the more fuel it needs.

Hello, My AMD Radeon R9 M375 is either not working or highly underperforming. Games like League of Legends run slow at a unstable FPS even at lower graphic settings. Graphically harder games (For example Maffia II) can't even run there is just constant lagg. Now I think the AMD is just not working at all because while playing these games only my CPU get's hot (really hot) because I believe the onboard Intel Graphic card is working. I have updated and installed all drivers, in my BIOS I have set my laptop to use both Graphic Cards. (I could only choose between either using only the Intel one or use both)I have tried disabling the Intel Graphic card, this only made things worse, and every single setting shows that the AMD card SHOULD be active. However, it seems that it isn't active. When I let my computer specs get pulled by Speccy, Speccy does recognize the AMD Graphic Card. Also the AMD driver software recognizes that there is a AMD inside my laptop. Is there anything I can try to do to make my AMD Graphic card work? I run Windows 10. Thanks,

When i use dxdiag it only shows me the Intel HD 4600 GRAPHIC card in the display section. Please tell me what can i do, this is very frustrating for me. Thank you and sorry for my bad english. A:Graphic Card problem on Lenovo Y50-70

1) Which windows do you have installed?
2) Did you install the correct NVIDIA drivers for your system?
3) Can you go into Control Panel >> Device Manager and see what is displayed under Display category?

These laptops use NVIDIA optimus technology and the NVIDIA card only gets used when doing graphically intensive tasks such as gaming, it is not a problem.
I am pretty sure the problem is with your graphics drivers.
Also, check in your DXDIAG which DirectX version is installed.

I'm trying to get autocad to recognize the graphics card of my new laptop. autocad tests numerous cards for compatibility, and on their website, my card is listed as a certified recommended card. But when I run the autocad tunelog, it lists:
3D Device
---------
Name :
Manufacturer :
Chip set :
Memory :
Driver :
Your machine contains a 3D Device that is not certified.

The driver that autocad tested the card with is different than my laptop’s graphics card drive. Perhaps that's the problem. The comments section for my particular card says: “This driver is supported on HP Compaq 8510w laptops and can be downloaded from here.” Now I wonder if I should actually install this driver... if that driver would work with a different laptop? I'm afraid that might be a problem because (from what I understand), it is only recommended to use driver updates provided by the laptop maker. Does installing a different graphic card driver void warranties on laptops? is it reversible by a restore point?

My notebook specs:
Lenovo T61p
Windows XP professional
Intel Core2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz

Hey I bought a Lenovo laptop recently after selling my desktop system which was a great one. I'm going to college so it had to be done. I just can't get into gaming anymore but I wanted to ask this. Exact model is 80SV 00F5TX (It comes with GDDR5, 4GB, 64bit graphic card) I'm downloading Batman Arkham Knight's demo to test my new laptop God it feels strange using a laptop again ahaha Any recommendations? I like to hear them. Lastly do they all have 64bit graphic cards at this price range? Thanks for answers. Have a great day

Hello everyone,I'm having quite a problem with my notebook: since a month or so, each time I try to use an application that relies a bit more heavily on the graphic card (like games or stuff like that) the Pc, freeze and go in to BSOD. The problem seems related to the Nvidia Geforce GTX 860M, since each time I disable the device the issues subside. They guys that look this up for me let me know that most of the time, this kind of trouble is related to an hardware problem, and since the graphic card is fully integrated in the motherboard, most probably, that would need to be replaced. I'm trying to figure it out which type of motherboard, I would need to buy, where should I get, and how much that could cost me (at least to try to decide if the cost is woth it, or it would be better to buy a new machine altogether. The product specs are:Lenovo Y50-70 Model Name 20378MTM 59426156Sadly OUT of warrantyPlease let me know if anyone can help meThanks for you attention and timeBest regards

Hello! Recently I bought a new Z51-70 laptop with 8GB RAM, intel core i7 and Radeon R9 m375. I have several problems with it. Firstly the device's performance highly drops when I disconnect the charger. I can see it in games. FPS drops from 40 to 15 :/. Secondly, I am disappointed with gaming performance and I think this could be caused by AMD graphic card issue. I have set "high performance" option in AMD Catalyst Control Centre and I have updated the drivers for both graphic cards but I'm still getting only 30 FPS in Xenoverse 2 on low graphic settings, even if the charger is plugged in. The same with Naruto Storm 4. AMD System Monitor says that the GPU usage is 0% but on the other hand GPU-z says its about 90%. I though that with this laptop configuration I would be able to get 60 fps in almost every game. Is Z51-70 gaming performance really so weak? Is there any way to fix it?Thanks in advance for the help .

Configuration Processor - AMD A8-5550M RAM - 8GB (4*4 configuration) OS - Windows 10 (Upgraded From Windows 8.1) Graphics - AMD Radeon HD 8650G + HD 8570M Dual Graphics  I have upgraded my system on 30th July to Windows 10 Pro. Now i am unable to install Graphic Card Driver.I Even tried unninstalling the Drivers using DDU(Display Driver Unnistaller) in Safe Mode and tried Re-installing Driver but while reinstalling Driver my system always Restarts and installation interrupts in between I tried this 4 times then i tried using without driver but my laptop used to get thermal shutdown. So Finally i performed a System Restore, but i wanted  to perform a clean install for which this problem must be solved as i won't be able to do system restore after clean install. One more Problem after i've upgraded to windows 10 my graphic driver is recognized differently as R5 M200 but actually its HD 8570M. Observations Whlile installing Driver :Laptop gets Heated and restarts firstly i thought its a Thermal Shut Down but it restarted and i even tried to preform the installation after placing my laptop in front of air-conditioner but it again restarted.Help me out finding the solution for this problem.Warm Regards,Rishabh

Same here.Tried to use the win 8.1 driver (12.102.1.8000) but this one does not allow me to use my 8570m properly. So i had to change it back to 15.200.1062.1004, which is the one who labels my 8570m into a "r5 m200 / hd 8500M series".Since i use the retarded win10 driver i have massevily fps drops while playing video games. I am thinking about chaning back to win 7 again.Hope we will get some support soon!

Hello! In 2013 I bought Lenovo C340 All-in-One with Windows 8 activated, CPU Intel Celeron. Because Win 8 was very buggy I upgraded to Win 8.1 in January 2014. After the upgrade everything was fine only the CPU usage started to be very high during browsing images-heavy sites and sites with Flash Player/animations/streaming videos and during downloading. I tried to update graphic card driver but the system said I have the latest one I need. Probably it was customized from Lenovo for this specific machine and Win 8? This June I upgraded to Win 10 hoping the high CPU usage will be resolved. But no, it is even worse because now few times PC blocked from the high CPU and should be restarted. I changed anti-vir from AVG Free to Avira Free but this was very small help. I had this question posted in Microsoft Answers, Adobe Help Forums, Ten Forums etc. I was advised to ask my manufacturer too as being unable to update the driver might be because manufacturer's changes. I suppose updating graphic driver would resolve the high CPU usage as CPU usage was alright in the original Win 8. I'm desperated as I'm online almost 24/7. I don't play online games but use some online art/drawing tools with Flash Player and also I browse many images and having my CPU frying is terrible. Thank you in advance!

Hello, I bought a y510p in december, and ever since getting SLI to work after the Win 8.1 upgrade, I've been completely dissapointed by the performance of the ultrabay GPU. It overheats and crashes the nvidia driver in minutes. While the on board GPU remains at acceptable temps, the ultrabay GPU will steadily rise in temperature untill the driver crashes, while playing somewhat demanding games like Bioshock Infinite, Witcher 2 or Wargame AirLand Battle. Ironically I get far batter performance in these games, if I disable SLI and only run the games on the on board GPU. In less intensive games like Red Orchestra 2, temps are not critical and SLI works fine - this is however a moot point, since I would be able to run these games just fine without an extra GPU. I paid a lot of money for that extra GPU, and seeing it being effectively useless is quite infuriating.  Inb4: Yes, I have the newest drivers. Yes, I've cleaned for dust. Yes, I've undervolted the CPU and underclocked the ultrabay GPU and drastically reduced the in game graphics quality - which brought me to the conclusion that I get better quality disabling SLI altogether.  Unless there is a solution to this, I will absolutely be taking the machine back, as in its current state, I feel that the ultrabay card is effectively useless. Futhermore I get the feeling that Lenovo just jammed it in there without any consideration as to whether it would actually work out practically.  Below i... Read more
