Hi, i have Lenovo p52 thinkpad and somehow whenever i try to render a video file on Vegas pro 16 , it never goes a single percent up, the estimated time of rendering on the dialogue box keeps on increasing and even after an hour it stays on 0%. i thought the problem might be with the software , but when i tried with the same software on Lenovo p51 it worked. May be some setting issues? would appreciate if i can get a bit of help here.
Read other answersI recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I am a graduate student who uses PyMOL and FoldIt for work. I am able to run those applications, but the "graphical viewer" (where I would see the macromolecule) will appear transparent and show only content from the underlying background application (see attachment)
This is not unique to such programs, but also to low-graphical resource games such as UltraStar Deluxe. I believe it is a software/driver problem because the same computer is able to correctly render PyMOL sessions when running Kubuntu Linux.
My computer is a Lenovo Thinkpad x61t. The graphics card is a Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family, which I understand is integrated with the motherboard. I'm running DirectX 11. I am running the most recent driver from Lenovo, a proprietary version of the Intel driver; I am unable to install the generic Intel driver as an .exe, but I can choose the "Have Disk" option to supply the path to the .inf file. Unfortunately, that does not resolve the problem. I initially suspected (from reading other complaints) that the problem might have something to do with the Lenovo driver not supporting OpenGL, but I don't know much about that and am unable to change the driver in any case.
This issue has persisted on multiple reformats and reinstallations of Windows 7 on this laptop. If anyone can lead me to a solution, this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Strangely enough, removing the drivers and having Windows automatically update them solved it. It only took a few hours after I made this post, but trust me, I spent months on Google trying to figure this out!
Read other 1 answersOk so i've spent the past week putting together clips to make a video. It's about 13 minutes and im ready make it into a movie. When rendering it, i first noticed that the end file size is around 1 mb. That's not right. So i checked the other media types (avi, mov, etc) and the highest i can get is about 16 mb. So i do the 16 mb one to check (avi). It makes the movie, and i open it. The movie is about 24 seconds long and its completely grey. So i try making it a .mov which is about 6 mb. It renders it and i open it. Before opening, it says its 667 mb, but its only 8 SECONDS LONG AND IS COMPLETELY BLACK.
what in the world do i do?
Hi,
Was wondering how you render videos with xvid in Sony Vegas 7. Whenever I try to render using the default settings it comes out as a huge file.
Thanks.
I have just recently installed Windows 7 64 bit because I'm getting 6GB RAM coming in the mail soon and microsoft wouldn't let me get a free version of 64 bit vista, so i did a clean install of this. i did a clean install for 2 main reason 1 for getting more ram and 2 for fixing this BSOD i got when rendering in sony vegas. Now i get a completely different BSOD then before
Whenever i try to render any videos in sony vegas pro 9 i get a BSOD
it said something about clock interrupted:

Every time i go to render a video, i begin to hear a loud beeping come out of my computer. I think its the warning beep on one of the parts. I'm not too experienced with pc parts so I dont know what that is. This beeping occasionally comes on when I game too, however, when i render, its more prevalent. Eventually my PC just blue screens with a warning message. This didn't always happen so I'm not sure what's going on. I hadnt tried to render a video in like half a year due to the fact that this issue was happening back then. So when I tried doing it today, it did it again. Please help. Thanks so much!
Is there a error code in that blue screen? And what is the warning message?
Hello --
Hope this post finds everyone well.
I wonder if someone might be able to help me.
I'm trying to render a project to the .wmv format in Sony Vegas 3.0. The project is a little over four minutes (one video track and three audio tracks). Whenever I try to render it, I receive the following message...
"An error occurred while creating the media file Error 0xc00d0bc2 (message missing)"
Any idea what this means and how I can solve it? I was able to render the project to MPEG-2 but I really want the higher quality of .WMV.
Do I need to pre-render the project first? If so, how do I do that? I've tried to find solutions in my manual and online but so far, no luck.
Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for your time, consideration and help.
Appreciatively yours,
Dougie Gee
I hadn't realised WMV was higher than mpeg2 (which is dvd quality). Have you tried rendering to AVI (the best quality) then converting that file outside of Vegas to WMV?
Hey everyone. I've been having this problem for a while now, and it's starting to get really annoying. Every single time I render my WMVs in vegas with the ff settings:
Video rendering quality: Good
Audio
-MODE: CBR
-FORMAT: Windows Media Audio 9.2
- ATTRIBUTES: 128 kbps, 44kHz, stereo (a/v) CBR
Video
-MODE: Bit Rate VBR
-Frame Rate: 30.000
-Seconds per key frame: 3
-Average Bit Rate : 4.5 M
I get the video to render completely, however, Vegas states that only 52% has been rendered (I hope that made sense).
It then starts to render from the start for about 2 seconds, freezes, then crashes the software completely.
I tried rendering in AVI and MPEG, but the quality depleted. AVI takes up so much space as well.
I don't know what to do anymore. Help please? Thank you!
Hi , can anyone please help me shorten a clip in sony vegas without having to re-render ?
I want to cut 2 minutes off a clip I have but rendering at 720x480 takes forever and actually turns into about a 4 gig file just for 15 or so minutes of film , which was only 260 meg to start with.
Any help on this would be great , thanks.
Hello everyone (this is my first post here btw )I am facing an issue with sony vegas pro 13 which when as soon as I click render it says vegas pro has stopped working..
I have tried EVERYTHING, please help me!!
I am on Windows 8.1 and no, it's not a CPU problem.
I've had a few errors with Sony Vegas 9 so far and I've gotten this far but this one has me annoyed. I want to render my video to MP4 and I've outlined my settings which I've used in the past no problem.
When I click save, it starts rendering, then it will stop and bring up this error:

Anyone have any solution? It's taken me ages to do this project
Thanks
You do know that Vegas 9 is obsolete, yes? Plus you have not provided any info about your system or the type of render you are doing. The best place to post your problem is here:
Sony Creative Software - Forums - Home
Go to either the Vegas Movie Studio or Vegas Pro forum, depending on which version you have.
Note that there is an established fix for Vegas 9 on 64-bit systems that involved editing 3 codec DLL's. THis is well documented in the forums I mentioned and could easily be the fix for your problem.
Hi everyone. I just finished creating a video in Vegas 8, and whenever I try to render my movie, the render usually makes it to around 60%, and then an error message pops up saying:
"An error occurred while creating the media file 'Name of file'. This reason for the error cannot be determined"
I've tried maked .avi, .wmv, and .wma. I've even messed around with each template, and the problem still keeps occurring.
Please help me.
I've been making videos on Youtube for almost 3 years now. But I've just recently started experiencing problems while rendering a video.
For longer videos (5-10 minutes), I would look at the finished version on the clip and notice that it's skipping/lagging like crazy.
I record at 29.97 fps (standard NTFS) and 1280 x 720 dimensions with about the best rendering settings you can choose. I think 44.000 mhz sound and 30/29.97 fps video. Also, it says my CPU is running at 97% - 100%. GRR. I have AMD fx series quad-core 3.4 ghz. That isn't right. If you want to see the video I created as an example, I'll give you the link. But does anybody know why this is happening? I highly appreciate any response and I hope I can find a solution to this as quick as possible. Thanks.
Hi, did you choose "Match media settings" as the tutorial recommends. Its normal for the cpu to work that hard while rendering. And its best left alone (the computer) while rendering is in progess. Also 29.97 fps complies with the American/Japan standard which is the NTSC standard versus the PAL standard which is 25 fps used in the rest of the planet.
Agree with you that the sony software works best at 1280 x 720

Hello, had some random blue screens before, wasn't sure of what it was but this happened just now when I was rendering in Sony Vegas.
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
- the original installed OS on the system? Original
- an OEM or full retail version? The site I purchased my computer from pre built it for me but I did purchase the Windows 7 disk so I guess full retail.
- What is the age of system (hardware)? About 5 months
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) About 5 months, no re-install
Forgot to mention that the computer came over clocked. I also used a program called blue screen viewer which is highlighting hal.dll as a problem, don't know if that can be of any extra help.

Hi there
I've already checked this issue on multiple different DV forums, recently switched from Premiere to this Vegas so I'm still considered a amateur, but hopefully work my way around this soon.
anyway
The Issue: My Sony Vegas isn't giving me the video quality I need compared to lesser programs (ie; NeroVision)
I've been rendering my videos in Sony Vegas from raw DV avi's to compressed Xvid/MPEG-3 .avi files.
I've been comparing that NeroVision's renderer has a better quality video with exactly the same compression settings, and is larger in terms of file size only by about less than 1mb's (Sony filesize: 2.14mb's Nero filesize: 2.96mb's)
Picture Legend:
1)NeroVision
2)Sony Vegas (May not be noticeable with the pictures, but it's cloudy and blurred, and possibly off-color by a degree or less.)
3)RAW DV
I've tried all other forms of compression, and even uncompressed, but Xvid is the standard for best quality with filesize. I've used Mpeg which are too big, and different AVI compressions, and they're no better.
Why don't I just use NeroVision? NeroVision doesn't have ANY features worth mentioning. It's made for stringing homeDV's together with transitions, nothing more. I need to be able to control my videos with Freeform.
I'm annoyed that the quality is not satisfactory considering it IS Sony Vegas, and Nero is, well, Nero (And you can't hear it, but the CCIT A-l... Read more

This is a pretty weird problem that I can't get my head around. I recently did a Let's Play on my computer, but for some reason the file was split into 11 parts. That's not really a problem because I could just put them together in a video editor. So I tried out Sony Vegas 11 first. No matter what I tried rendering my 13 minute video as, it would have a constant green-flickering, and when there was no flicker the frame rate was horrible. Needless to say I gave up on Vegas 11.
So now here's my problem with Vegas 9. I rendered one small part of my video to make sure it worked, and it came out perfectly. So then I go and try to render the whole 13 minute thing, but no matter what I try I get this error. "System is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications." Now, look at my specs below and tell me if that should be happening. It shouldn't, which confuses me. It renders perfectly on my friends PC with 2GB of ram (and his ram is lower quality than the 4GB I have). Could anyone tell me what's wrong?
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
Intel Core i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
4GB RAM
Page file: 2223MB used, 5962MB available
DirectX 11
ATI Radeon HD 5830
Try this app,
VirtualDub download (at SourceForge) - virtualdub.org
You can load the first clip and then append the rest of them.
then in the Video Button on the Menu, select "Direct Stream Copy", and check the Audio menu as well and have that set to "Direct Stream Copy"
And then save the AVI.
Should only take you a couple of minutes to do, as long as Virtual Dub can load the files.
I rendered a video no less than 4 days ago without any problems, yet today when I try to render a video using Sony Vegas Pro 12, the windows on my screen will stop responding (I can still move my mouse around by this point) and the computer will crash (BSOD). This came as a complete surprise to me, since I've been using this program to render projects for quite some time now. I tried turning off GPU acceleration, but my computer would still come to a grinding halt before blue-screening. I even went to the lengths of installing Sony Vegas Pro 13, which turned out actually BSOD'ing my computer when starting the program up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I render a video using Sony Vegas 8 Pro, I get sound, but no video. I have followed several tutorials closely but still no luck. I render as a wmv file, change the size to 640x480, but still no video (just sound).
What I think happened is that I had set up Sony Vegas 8 a few moths back and had no problem rendering videos, but yesterday I started the program while holding down Ctrl and Shift (this resets all settings to their original positions).
Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the video to appear?
Thanks,
Hello everyone,
Recently I started getting BSODs while I was playing Test Drive Unlimited 2, The Division and other games. Then I found out my PC wil BSOD while trying to render something in Sony Vegas.
I already tried memtest and tried running Intel Processor Diagnostic tool, upgraded all drivers too, and still haven't found anything.
Iam attaching screenshot of error showing in WhoCrashed and archive from DM Log Collector.
PS: If you will need to help translate something from Czech (if there is going to be anything) Iam more than willing to help.
Hello! I seem to have some problems when rendering videos with Vegas 6.0. At some points the video becomes extremely laggy. (In certain points. Because even if I rerender the video for 100 times the problem occours in the same parts of the video.). I need those videos at 1280x720 resolution, but I just can't render them with out lag... (Lower resolutions are lag-free though...)
What help do I need:
Please specify the lowest possible settings for Vegas 1280x720 resolution to render the video. I think that my stupid old computer is to be blamed.
Or maybe there is something else I can do to prevent this problem?
regards,
archer9
I think I found a solution. But the video size is now much bigger. But I guess I'll have to live with that.
Sorry for littering your forums.

Upload Dump Files:
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.
If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there. If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.
If you don't have anything in that folder, please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP. If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service - then post the link to it.
Then, follow the directions here to set your system for Minidumps (much smaller than the MEMORY.DMP file): Set MiniDump
All of my clips are NTSC DV Widescreen (720x480), pixel aspect ratio 16:9. I want to render out the finished video project now as the same size and ratio. But nothing I've tried thus far will give me a widescreen output once I watch the finished video.
I'm usually quite good with codecs, formats, and such, but this one has me so confused. I've also tried it both with and without the "Stretch... Do not letterbox" option checked, to no avail. Uncompressed either crashes the program or comes out standard size, sometimes with faces a strange color-keyed-out grey. Any suggestions?
It was merely a playback error due to codecs in WMP.
Read other 1 answersI have a 256 SSD a larger HDD. Just bought this P50 and stupidly decided to use the Lenovo USB Recovery to get Windows 10 Pro on board. Got halfway through the process and got a "Recovery Failed" notice. I think it wiped both my hard drives in the process. I can get to the F1 screen and the F12 screen, but that's it. I had followed the Lenovo literature to make OS Optimized Defualts set to "enabled" and then went through the process. Now I'm not sure what I can do.
Read other answersHi so i tried to create a recovery disk, but i failed because the usb drive that i was copying was apperenty too small (its 16gb) and after it failed it seem the program or something deleted the q partion. Read other answersI just downloaded Sony Vegas 10.0 Pro, and when it starts up, the bar will go all the way to the end, until it closes and it will say, "An error occured starting Vegas Pro.
An internal error happened in the Common Language Runtime's Execution Engine" And when I click for details, it says "Failed to initialize script host."
I need help, please. Thanks!
Uninstall it and reinstall. If you had any previous versions of Vegas uninstall them first before reinstalling. Use the Revo Uninstaller to remove all traces and use the Advanced menu to remove it in the Registry. After rebooting, do a Search for Sony Vegas and remove all traces of Vegas. Empty the Recycle Bin and restart. Try downloading the program again as you may have gotten a bad download. Then reinstall
Read other 2 answersThe title sums it up. https://photos.app.goo.gl/5wNJuFfFYFOcKxxm2 I have an RMA for a refund in progress, but wanted to see if anyone has any ideas before I ship it away. I have verified it is the lid switch, because I can get it to stop if I hold a magnet just right around the switch, which is to the left of the webcam and mic. Right out of the box, "L" key was bad on the keyboard; it doesn't register unless it's hit just right. I was dealing with it for now and was going to get a warranty part to fix it, but now this happened...
I would set a small screw on the palmrest to see if the magnet is really in place. (center, at the front right below the place the lid switch is) I wonder if the box was dropped in shipping affecting the keyboard and dislodging the magnet.
Read other 1 answersHi all,
Recently purchased a Y700 15isk
Specs:
(i7 6700HQ (2.60 GHz) 8 GB Memory 1 TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB GDDR)
The machine came with windows 10 and I partitioned the system and installed fresh copy of windows 7 and windows 10 (dual boot).
So over the weekend I decided to build overviews (via software) of my music collection. Since the laptop has 8 cores, it was building 8 at a time. So I imagine that the system was working full throttle. About 2 hours into the project, the laptop completely went out. Suspecting a heat issue, I checked the brick, it was hot but still was giving me a power reading via my ohm meter.
Plugged the brick back into the laptop and the lights on the front of the system did not turn on. Anyways pulled the battery from the laptop and did a discharge cycle and nothing.
I suspect my motherboard or cpu went toast! Seeing that I will be using this new laptop to dj professionally, obviously I am glad this happened at home.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I can't believe that a new gaming laptop would fry while working all 8 cores. Fans also seemed to working while this was happening. In the power settings I also remember setting it "performance".
What are people using to stress test laptops? I will be sending this one in for repair and then stress test the one I get back.
Laptops never has a good cooling system and always run hot.
The CPU has a temperature trigger that will shut down the computer to self protect.
As it also has a battery, I would say that is probably the internal power supply. When plug ed in, does the charging led goes on?
No reason to work on performance profile settings.
You can run on balance profile settings and adjust the minimum and maximum CPU clock. I suggest 20 & 100%. The clock then will automatically be set as necessary.
The i7 6700HQ has 4 cores and Hyper-Threading makes two tasks share one core, simulating 8 cores.
Hyper-Threading is only effective with high multitask programs, like Photoshop, Autocad, games etc, that split a complex task into multiple tasks.

Hi. I'm thinking of buying a Chespirito Lenovo Essential v110-15isk (i3-6006u 4gb 500gb) because I want it for normal use (internet, multimedia), but maybe at some point I need to render a 6-8 minute video with Sony Vegas. So will this laptop be able to run Sony Vegas?
Read other answersI posted a similar question earlier and people referred me to the Yoga (much appreciated). However, I was interested in the 2.6 lb carbon version with touch screen capabilities. Asus has a Spin 7 model that is very good at 2.65lb, but I miss the red mouse toggle in the middle of the keyboard and Asus's track pad was designed too large....causing unintended tapping. The Yoga, while nice, is heavier than I was looking for. The 14 inch screen is about 3.3lb? the 12 inch at 3? I thought that some of the earlier Thinkpad Carbons had touch screen and was hoping they would make a return soon. Thanks,
Read other answersHello, We have a problem with 2 laptops (ThinkPad X270) that "freeze" on the LENOVO logo when using Lenovo Ultra Dock with monitor Dell UZ2715H.Display Dell is plugged by Display port ports and one USB 3.0 (9 pin - used for display integrated webcam) connected to ThinkPad dock. When notebook turned ON with connected USB 3.0, computer freeze on LENOVO logo (To interrupt normal startup, press Enter) and work only when USB 3.0 disconected, or turned OFF and again Turned ON. Firmware on Dock is 2.33.000 Any suggestion?
I am just going to guess that computer is trying to boot via USB, so you might try changing the boot order in the BIOS so that Windows Boot Manager or the HD is first.
Read other 1 answersWhen I dock the computer and press the power button on the dock it doesn't recognize my monitor as the main screen. I have to hit a key (Windows 10) and put in my password hoping that it's doing that and then the screen comes up. If I reboot after that ... THEN.... it recognizes my screen as the main monitor. How do I fix this? The only time this happens is when I use it off the dock and then put it back on. If it stays on the dock all the time it does just fine. Any fixes for this? Thanks...
Read other answersHallo!
Read other answersApologies if something similar has been posted, I just can't find the answer. We have a 5th Generation Thinkpad X1 Carbon connected to a Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 dock. At the moment the display is mirrored using a VGA cable to connect to the dock. What we would like instead is to connect the dock to 2 external monitors with separate content on each monitor and the laptop display blank. I just can't figure out if this is possible, what might be needed, and how! Any help greatly appreciated.
Read other answersThis post is to hopefully throw some more light onto a problem that I've only just found a workaround for.
The workaround is not a fix by any means but it allows the software in question to work again.
Problem :
Sony Vegas 10.0c ?Stopped Working? and no amount of uninstall/reinstall and/or deleting all traces in the registry would fix the problem.
The problem is apparent with all versions of Sony Vegas prior to 10.0c, Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD, and associated packages (DVD Architect Studio 5.0 and Sound Forge Audio Studio 10.0 etc)
Diagnosis and workaround:
Turns out that there is some sort of conflict when Microsoft Office 2007 is installed too.
?WowExec.dll? in the Office install folder is the offending article and as soon as the dll is renamed (wowexec_bak.dll) the ?Stopped working? issue vanishes. I don?t know if either Microsoft and/or Sony have made a fix for this problem but renaming the WowExec.dll file is a temporary workaround. A few error messages may appear when running Vegas for the first time when WowExec.dll is disabled but it allows Vegas to run again.
This issue was on Windows XPSP3.
Anyone else encounter this problem? If so, is anyone aware of a permanent fix?
J
Its NOT wowexex.dll at all!! it's Grooveutil.dll !
I don't know what I was thinking but it wasn't this!
Hi I have a budget of $2000 I need a computer for rendering. Does the video card matter for the rendering process or only for the modeling and custizing?
I would look at this build. You can take out the sound card and peripherals and use the saved money to buy an i7 4770K rather than the i5. I would also upgrade the GPU to a GTX 780. The CPU and GPU are vital hardware when it comes to rendering and modelling. That rig I mentioned above should do fine.
Hi..I ordered a new ThinkPad USB-C Dock. I have a lenovo thinkpad x1 carbon 1st generation and didnt realize that the interface cable between the dock and the laptop is USB-C.
