Lenovo Yoga 370 touchpad and trackpoint disabled?

Q: Lenovo Yoga 370 touchpad and trackpoint disabled?

After switching to tablet mode in Windows 10, the touchpad and trackpoint are both disabled. I tried disabling and re-enabling it in the BIOS, no effect. Tried updating to the latest ELAN driver, no luck... in fact, there's no option for enabling / disabling the touchpad in the dialog box, and the ELAN dialog box is just a big blank. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling all Lenovo drivers; no luck. I saw some suggestions that I should disable some sort of Intel sensors in the BIOS, but I couldn't find those settings. Suggestions?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Trackpoint on Yoga 12 is working at Windows 10 login screen, but immediately upon logging in to Win 10, the mouse pointer disappears (when using only built-in trackpoint/touchpad). The 'additional mouse settings' reveal the Thinkpad tab and the settings for trackpoint/trackpad, but they are greyed out and not active. Adding a USB mouse brings back the mouse pointer and then the pointer responds to the external device normally. Remove the USB device, and the mouse pointer is unresponsive to trackpoint input. I downloaded and installed most recent synaptics trackpoint driver from Lenovo. Now running driver v. 19.3.4.90. How can I re-enable the trackpoint?Windows is up to date.

A:Solved: Yoga 12 trackpoint & touchpad become disabled on windows 10 login

I solved this issue by re-installing the latest Lenovo driver, but AFTER I uninstalled the existing driver. I had previously installed the same latest driver without uninstalling the existing driver, and that did not resolve the problem. Apparently installing the new driver only works if the prior driver is first uninstalled.

So I have the updated Window 10 Home and Lenovo Settings Ver. 3.169.0.0. It doesn't allow me to adjust Trackpoint or Touchpad speed when I go to the tab "Input". Both speeds are kept lowest and I cannot scroll the bars at all. What I can do is go to Synaptics Control Panel to adjust the speeds. However every time I open the laptop again after Sleep or Reboot, the speeds go back to lowest again. Please help me solve this issue. Thanks!

I've noticed that the touchpad is unresponsive for a short period of time (~0.3s) after trackpoint button clicks (or joystick use) on my latest X1 Carbon. This makes it a pain to use the touchpad with the physical trackpoint buttons, which I would do regularly (e.g. for drag&drop). The behavior can be observed both under Windows and Linux (tested with Ubuntu 19.10), however, not in the BIOS when using the graphical interface. Is this a known issue? Can anything be done about it?

I have a new X280. According to my Windows settings Touchpad and trackpoint should be left enabled when a mouse is connected, still when I connect a mouse they et diabled immediately. What I realized as an extra symptom is that after a clear boot both mouse and touchpad and trackpoint are active on the login screen. About 2-4 secs after login touchpad and trackpoint get disabled again. Anybody else have had this problem earlier? I have Win 10 Version 1830 (Build 17134..471) with latest touchpad and trackpoint drivers and firmwares. Thanks. Best regards,Zoltan

My touchpad and trackpoint disables after short usage. Max working time is about an hour, typically much less. Sometimes the keyboard has some delay but usually it works fine. The touchscreen works always. Occastinally the pointers come back for a while. So far I have tried:- Updated everything possible from Lenovo support page- Updated BIOS- Removed Synaptics driver 19.3.4.202. It reinstalled automatically.- Uninstalled every software I could- Disabled startup programs- Compared processes, memory and CPU from task manager when workin and during the issue- Reinstalled Windows- Checked that a bluetooth USB mouse works fine- There is no difference if running on battery or with a cord- Disabled either the touchpad or the trackpoint Seems to me like a driver issue. One anomaly in the drivers. The installed driver 19.3.4.202 date says 16.1.2018 but the support page gives the date 8.2.2018 for the same version.

Since lates 1803 Windows 10 update, I can no longer keep the TrackPoint setting disabled on my laptop. I turn it off in the Lenovo Vantage app, but upon next startup it's enabled again. This is incredibly frustrating, as not only do I not use this function, but I have to turn it off because the vibration of typing causes the cursor to constantly drift unless I disable it. So now every time I startup I have to load the very slow Vantage interface to disable it again. Any tips?

After using the ThinkPad Yoga 260 for about two weeks, both the trackpoint and touchpad are now unresponsive. I've tried updating the drivers, rolling back the drivers and uninstalling the drivers and installing the latest one. None of it works. I managed to get it working once with a BIOS update but as soon as I put it in sleep mode, both became unresponsive again. Under Mouse Porperties the TouchPad option is grayed out and the TrackPoint option is sometimes grayed out and sometimes not. Regardless, it is completely unresponsive when enabled and disabled.

Hi All,in the last days i performed a bios upgrade for an issue that now is solved: sometime when i powered on my Yoga 260 only with battery - fully charged - it didn't switch on.....it needed to feel the AC plugged in just for a minute (and than plugged it off), to let me switch on the laptop with battery.  After the Bios Upgrade (N1GET84W 1.63 - 21/12/2017), everythings seems to work properly except for Touchpad/Trackpad: Uefi Bios is correctly configured with the two field of Touchpad and Trackpoint "Enabled"I upgraded all driver of my laptop from Windows Update and from Lenovo Support web page (also checked from Lenovo Vantage app)Under "Mouse Settings" the Touchpad/Trackpoint settings are enabledMouse Settings                    My O.S.: Windows 10 Pro - Versione: 10.0.16299 - Build: 16299 I searched on forum and on internet but i found similar issues with no solutions that worked for me. Any idea about it? Best regards to all and Happy New Year!

I was having responsiveness issues with the trackpad for a while, then, i open my laptop one day and it's completely unresponsive, as well has the backlit keyboard not working (the hotkey still pops up that it's "lighting up" the keyboard, but no actual lights) and the trackpoint being completely unresponsive too. I've tried:- Restarting computer- Using Lenovo's various "fixing" softwares- Looking for a keyboard firmware shortcut for enabling/disabling trackpad, (doesn't exist on this computer)- Re installing drivers (Ultranav driver refuses to install manually, "driver installation failed")- Booting on a non microsoft OS (Booted on a linux Mint installation and it still doesn't work)- Booting into BIOS and looking for "enable/disable trackpad option", That option does not exist for me.- Opening up computer and checking the physical connection, All plugged in fine. When i open the device manager in windows there is no entry for the mouse whatsoever. The touch screen and the pen both work fine. I think it all points towards a hardware issue, i can pick up another trackpad on ebay for pretty cheap, but obviously i'd like to make sure that it would actually solve the issues.  The major confusion for me is that why would faulty trackpad hardware stop the backlit keyboard from lighting up? How are the two linked? Any ideas appreciated, Thanks!

As stated in the title my Trackpoint is causing my cursor to drift to the right side of the screen. It only does this whenever I physically pick up the laptop or bend the right corner of the palmrest. I've tried to rule out any software related issues by updating the OS to the latest Windows Build, updating BIOS to 1.13, drivers for UltraNav. Once I realized none of this worked I rolled the BIOS back to 1.12 and restored the unit but it is still happening. If I turn off the Trackpoint in Control Panel -> Mouse the issue stops. I do not remember this happening when I first opened it. Any idea as to what is causing it? Thanks!

Hi there, I have a brand new Lenovo Yoga 510 14 and the computer doesn't find the touchpad's and keyboard's drivers when booting, so they're just disabled. Sometimes it just stops functionning while I'm using them... luckily there is the touchscreen ! I have to go to the driver's section into the parameters, to look for updates (it never finds any), then reboot the computer and it works... for a few hours. There surely must be an update you can do for both touchpad and keyboard, or to the system itself, so it would find them when booting ! This is not only annoying, it's someting that would make me turn my back on Lenovo from now. If you can please help me fix this I would be grateful, thanks !

Hello,I have an issue whith my new X1 Carbon (G7), that my touchpad does not react immediately when I click with the phisical touchpad buttons (ie. the buttons above the touchpad). It is noticable when trying to drag&drop an item, or when trying to use the scrollbar similarly (clicking and dragging). It works well when I use the lower area of the touchpad to "click". For example: I select a file in File Explorer with a click and immediately move my fingers on the touchpad to drag it somewhere else, but it only starts to move after a short moment. It feels like the touchpad does not want to react, but then it suddenly starts to work... I thought of driver update, but Synaptics driver is not available. Maybe it's an issue with the Microsoft drivers?Does anyone else have a similar issue? Thanks

Hi

I was not able to find anything interesting on the support site of your model:
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...

I checked the change on the ELAN drivers from 12/1/2016, but it does not says anything about the touchpad not recovering from tablet mode.
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...

If you already installed this driver and didn't work, I don't have more ideas about it.

Hello,i have a problem with the touchpad of my Yoga 460 ultrabook. Unfortunately, it has a little but annoying difference from my ultrabook (T450) at work. With the T450: When I use two fingers to scroll down or up, I can remove one finger from the touchpad and it still is in "scroll mode" while only one finger is on the touchpad. This is shown by the fact, that when i put the finger back on the touchpad, I can continue scrolling. With my Yoga 460: When i remove one finger while letting the other on the touchpad, the "scroll mode" is interrupted and i cant continue scrolling immediately. I haventīt found any option from windows or my preinstalled Elan smart pad options.Does someone know a solution for this? Best regardsDejan V.

I've looked around for a solution to my problem and haven't found one, so sorry if this is a repeat post.  I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, running Windows10.  I am still under warranty, so sending it in is an option, but I'm a student and not having my laptop for an extended period of time would be incredibly inconvenient.  I don't have any other issues with my laptop. About 5 months ago, the touchpad on my computer just stopped working.  No response to anything.  I downloaded the latest drivers, installed them and restarted, and still nothing.  I did some more research and tried to follow advice, but ran into what I think is the root of the problem.  When I tried to see if my touchpad was enabled in Settings, only my wireless mouse is listed.  I looked further and found that my touchpad doesn't show up in 'Device Manager' under the 'Mice and Other Pointing Devices' subsection. I'm not particularly techie, but am willing to try anything to regain functionality.  It's an inconvenience to have to either use the touchscreen or carry around my mouse all the time.  Any pointers down the right road towards fixing this (and not having to have it serviced) would be grealy appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

I have bought two days ago a Lenovo Yoga 720 13', and since yesterday I am experiencing issues with the touchpad. There are two kinds of problems: one with the scrolling function, the other one when the pointer goes over some links (even without clicking them). Problem number one: The scrolling functions only with some programs , and when working it produces a strange flickering of the page when I reach the bottom of the page. On words it works, and when I scroll until the end of the page, the whole Words page flickers for some moments. Very bizarre. On Chrome the scrolling does not work. Problem number two: when on Chrome I drag the pointer over a link (like in the links that appear after a search with google) the whole Chrome page quivers for an instant. And it quivers for every other link the pointer touches (without clicking on it). Therefore, my searches on google are very painful for the eyes, for the whole page quivers every link I pass upon. How can I fix this problem with the touchpad? I still can't use my touchpad.  I've tried driver updates, checked f6 but still nothing.  Due to the limited number of usb ports I need the touch pad to work.  Even when the touchpad is not turned off (f6) there is no synaptics drives listed in device manager.  Even when I run Lenovo's system check for upadate it does not identify that it is missing.  Also, from what I can tell there isn't even a serivce listed in Computer Management for the touchpad / synaptics.

Please provide me with a solution as quickly as possible.  Thank you.  Peter D

I can sometimes/often get the keyboard back by rebooting from a usb recovery disk, and then everything can work fine for hours until the yoga goes to sleep. A big problem now is starting the yoga at all because the boot recovery menu does not respond to the touch screen, so I have to reboot a number of times before it recognizes the keyboard long enough for me to be able to tell it to carry on. This is a pretty fatal problem and the yoga is only just over two years old. I think the issue is likely to be something to do with tablet mode (which I don't use normally). Any ideas before I recycle it?

A:Disabled keyboard with Lenovo yoga

I have a keyboard back now, at least temporarily, so can add that all the Lenovo hardware tests say that there are no problems and the Windows Startup repair facility simply says that the Startup cannot be repaired (because no fault is detected?). More curiously, the usb recovery disk I am using was set up by this computer after the problem has started to become serious - so it can build a working recovery disk, but can''t start itself up properly. Just to confirm, the yoga now has a brand-new Windows 10 system but the problem still persists. But, now that I have a keyboard, I would expect everything to be absolutely fine for the rest of the day or until the computer goes to sleep. In its current state, it can be rebooted without difficulty (provided that I haven't done it so often that the Boot Menu comes up) and the keyboard will come back. But if I leave it for any time, like overnight, it's 45 minutes or more before I can get it going again.
