I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi therePlanning to order a 2nd generation X1 Yoga (20JE). According to the OCM (March edition, which, however, does not mention 20JE, but explicitly states X1 Yoga 2nd gen) among others, both the USB 3.0 Pro Dock (40A70045) and the Onelink+ dock (40A40090) would be compatibel with the Yoga, not howeber the USB-C dock (40A90090) or the Thunderbolt 3 Dock (40AC0135). I'd appreciate this in principle, as I still have the Onelink+-Dock of the 1st generation X1 Yoga. But I cannot entirely believe it, as the pictures I found of the 2nd generation X1 yoga do not show any Onelink+-Connector, but it has USB.C/Thunderbolt 3 connectors according to the specs. So what is true? Thanks! (Cross posted from German language question @ https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Kaufberatung/X1-Yoga-2nd-Gen-20JE-Dock-Kompatibilit%C3%A4t/td-p/3595825)

Anyone experience with connecting the P70 with TB3/USB-C to a docking station? Some of these docking stations provide power for the laptop, which is great for smaller laptops, but not for a beast like the P70, with its 230W power supply brick. My question: will I damage the P70 when I connect it to a TB3/USB-C dock that has Power Delivery (PD) capabilities?

Hello, I am new to the community and need help with a laptop/dock/monitor configuration.
I have the following hardware I would like to connect for an efficient office.
Laptops

XPS 15 (9550)
XPS 12
Latitude 7480 (mini-DP port)

Monitors

2715Q
2417H

Docks

WD15
TB16

Ideally I would like a dual monitor setup running the 2715Q @ 4K60Hz and 2417H at 1080P. Using the WD15 which is compatible with the Latitude I top out at 30Hz on the 4K and the 24" is fuzzy unless I direct connect the HDMI to the Latitude. I bought the TB16 with Thunderbolt hoping it has better through put for the monitors.
The drivers have been installed for the dock on the XPS 15, works fine, and Latitude. When connected to the TB16 for with full sized DP cable the 2715Q is not receiving a signal from the Latitude. I searched but could not tell if the TB16 + dual monitors (4K) would work on the Latitude with a mini-DP USB C port.
Looking for advice on the best configuration. Thank you.

A:TB16 Dock Compatibility Help

Thunderbolt is optional on the Latitude 7480; the default configuration is just regular USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode, which provides only enough bandwidth for a single 4K @ 60 Hz display and even then only when the USB-C port is being used SOLELY for video output, e.g. through a basic USB-C to DisplayPort adapter. If the device connected to the USB-C port also wants to handle USB traffic, as would be the case with a dock like the WD15, then regular USB-C only provides enough display bandwidth to properly run a single 4K @ 30 Hz display, which is why you get a fuzzy result when you try to drive a 1080p display on top of your 4K display through the WD15.
Thunderbolt by comparison can handle dual 4K @ 60 Hz displays while also carrying other traffic -- but again, only if your system has it.  To check that, go into your system's BIOS and find the Thunderbolt Settings area.  If the options are configurable, you have it; if everything is grayed out, you don't.  If you have Thunderbolt and things still aren't working, make sure you have your system BIOS, Thunderbolt software/driver, Thunderbolt firmware, and graphics drivers all installed and updated.  If you don't have Thunderbolt, then the TB16 won't work at all, except maybe to charge the system.

I need separate laptops for work and personal use, but I want one mechanical dock on my desk that is compatible with both. I want a 15.6" screen for work and a 14" screen for personal. I presently use a W530 and a T430 with the Mini Dock Plus Series 3 type 4388 dock. This has been fantastic. I need to update my work laptop and am foced into a P50 if I want a 15.6" screen. I'm expecting to need to update my personal laptop at the same time (something like a T470) and get a new docking station. I'm having a hard time finding a common mechanical dock. I have checked the Options Compatibility Matrix which identifies the Thinkpad Workstation Dock 40A50230US for the P50. However, the OCM identifies several mechanical docks for the T-series which do not include the Workstation Dock. Are the P and T series indeed now incompatible for mechanical docks? I'm looking for deeper analysis than the typical power supply wattage check - are the connectors really incompatible? I saw some mention in the forum of unlisted dock compatability but needing to pay special attention to seating the laptop in the dock. I'm aware that the OCM shows USB dock compatability between the P and T series, e.g. the 40A80045US Ultra dock. However, this option has several compromises such as requiring a separete power connection and only having one display port and 2+2 USB ports. If there is not a common mechanical dock between the P50 and the T-series, can you please suggest alternatives? Are there ... I purchased the HP Envy x360 13-y013cl and the HP Elite USB-C Dock. I couldn't find any specific information on compatibility from either product and the exact laptop doesn't seem to be listed on HP's site.  However, other Envy models recommend this dock as the correct one (and only recommended option under accessories).   When I plug in the dock and plug the USB-C cable into the computer, nothing happens.  The computer isn't able to see it, the firmware update utility doesn't see it, the computer doesn't charge, and nothing related to the dock works.   Did I get a defective dock or a computer with a bad USB-C port?  Is it completely incompatible?  Am I doing something wrong that's not obvious? I don't currently have any other USB-C devices to rule out the possiblity of a the computer having a bad port, nor do I have another USB-C computer to try the dock with.   If the dock is not compatible, are there any other options for a compatible USB-C dock that will charge the laptop?

Hello all,I bought a Yoga X1 2018 and during the shop they suggest the Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Dock. Since I thought that having to disconnect only one cable when bringin the laptop from the desk to the meeting room would have been useful, I bought it.With my disappointment I setup everything and I did some tests on the laptop just to discover that the performance of the laptop when powered through the docking station are 1/3 with respect to when it's powered by the 65W power supply and 1/2 of when the laptop is on battery... (234pt vs 640pt vs 563pt | dock/65W/battery)Now since the docking station has a 135W power supply, I really can't think that this is an issue with the supply from the docking. Also since the laptop is even faster on battery I really don't understand how it could be related to the power supply... anyway I've connected both the 65W power supply and the docking and the performance are back to normal. Is there anyone who can suggest me what's going on or how to report this to Lenovo?

We got about 5 Yoga 460s brand new with OneLink+ dock systems.  All of them have been updated with their respective updates in regards to BIOS, Firmware for Dock and Network drivers.  We are having a problem with ethernet adapter (when docked) dropping connections for about 1 second (causing Windows Explorer to say we disconnected from network drives). I can't see any "icons" drop (for network connectivity in notification center of the bottom right).  All are running Windows 10 with latest updates.  Pressing "ok" reconnects instantly but this is becoming a very annoying problem with people have to do this 6 times a day.   Lenovo machines plugged up before these docks and Yogas (T540s and T460s) in their own respective docks didn't have one issue.  Nothing on the network switch is indicating a dropped connection (managed switch put into logging mode).  We have turned off all power management of the network driver (allowed to sleep and "green" switching) to no avail.  This seems like a USB3.0 problem and we can't seem to figure it out.  Even without ANY external displays attached we get disconnects about 6 times a day (in 8 hour work day).

Is there a way to get the USB-C to connect and charge the Yoga?  I thought I saw a post about an HDMI to USB-C adaptor.  Does this work?2. What about a OneLink dock?  Is that a better option?  All I want to do is to have a simpe method to dock and charge the Yoga when im in my office.  I may some day expand to a dual monitor but right its just one monitor. Thanks!

Unfortunately, your system has OneLink+ dock connector and the dock which you have to use is ThinkPad OneLink+ Dock (40A40090SA)
And there is no such Adapter/cable to convert OneLink+dock - OneLink Dock.

You can use MSconfig to diagnose startup issues. Visit the following link for details;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iku_aPUsVQ4

You can post back with any questions regarding your system services and startup entries to establish their purpose and whether or not they are required at startup.

Taskbar icons are just shortcuts and do not effect the time it takes for starting a computer.

Hello, Could somebody help me with the solution for charging my laptop X1 Yoga for USB docking station, please? Thnak you, Marius.

A:x1 yoga not charge from ThinkPad USB 3.0 Pro Dock

USB 3.0 docks are not capable of powering a computer (unless some non-standard functionality is used, and even then only a small amount of power can be supplied). The only standards compliant way to power a computer from a USB dock is a USB type C dock with power delivery capability connected to a USB type C port on a suitable laptop. The X1 Yoga does not have USB type C, so the only dock that can power the X1 Yoga is the OneLink+ Dock. You will need to connect a power adapter as well as the USB 3.0 dock if you wish to power the X1 Yoga.

Hey everyone, I've been searching high and low for some info.  I have looked to see if I can find some info but I am unable to find a solution.  I currently have a Lenovo 370 with a Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C Dock( https://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/home-office/Thinkpad-USB-C-Dock/p/40A90090US )  Currently I am running into an issue where I can run two monitors (any combo DP and VGA) and they will run at full resolution.  As soon as the third monitor is connected; doesn't matter the combo or how the third is plugged in, it runs at 640x480 resolution and will not adjust to proper resolution. I have run TVSU and all are updated, and even within windows 10 updates are complete.  Intel support shows that the card can be running at three monitors.  I have a T460s as well that can run the three monitors with the Ultra Dock at full resolution so I know it is not a monitor issue. I am wondering is this a limitation of the Yoga itself or is this a problem with the ThinkPad USB-C dock? Any ideas would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

The most complete reference to compatibility of all accessories is the Options Compatibility Matrix. You can use a USB dock or a Thunderbolt dock - the Lenovo Quick Pick site also shows your options.

The machine is an X1 Yoga running the current version of Windows 20. I haven't seen this before -- does anyone have an idea of what might be going on?
