I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I posted last week. I am not sure what is wrong but I did a system restore and just wanted to know if there is any problems. I think I might have a problem with my keyboard. Not sure, not very tech aware.

I mean spyware cannot be removed by antivirus program. The antivirus is messed up and i tried finding solutions at the norton site but found nothing to resolve my problem. A reminder always pops up that my last protection was around may 5, but when I open the window it says I hav 200-ish days left of subscription. WHen I try to live update, it messes up. There's a # of # to complete, but each time I tried to liveupdate it woud go like 1 of #, 2 of #, 3 of # all the way to 52. The program is totally screwed and don't know what's going on. When I looked at my subscription status, it says it will expire in 2008. Somethin is messing with my antivirus program to act this way.My antivirus program isnt working very well. I tried to do live update to reinstall it but doesnt work. I also renewed by subscription in April, but it keeps saying its already expired. Live update won't help. If I uninstall it, I feel that I would have to pay again and the viruses in norton will be released. I also have this weird spyware on my computer. It's called outinfo. The icon would always be at the lower right where all the other icons are. I try to pull down a menu on the icon, but there is no option to close it. Browsers will constantly pop every few minutes with outerinfo pops. I think i downloaded this betta screensaver that caused outinfo to appear and now I'm having a hard time removing the spyware. My norton said it resolved it, but it came back. It's causing my server to be ... Read more

Hello. I am PropagandaPanda (Panda or PP for short), and I will be helping you with your log.I apologize for the delay in response. These past 3 or 4 days, when I open a Firefox browser, sometimes the letters on the tabs dissapear. And when this happens, I can't open any program, even notepad, I recalled one time it says 'not enough system resource' or something like that. So I shutdown the PC (I clicked on the bottom left Start>Turn off Computer) and I noticed the 'Turn Off Computer' box looked odd, it became black with the 3 buttons (the restart, turn off, stand by) visible. And also the message 'Windows is shutting down' became smaller and looked different.
After I restart, everything is back to normal again... but usually this problem happens again about once a day.
I don't know whether this is a hardware, windows or malware/virus problem, cause this is the first time it ever happened.

Thank you TFS team!

The only time you should not run anti-malware software or a firewall is if you need to temporarily turn them off to fix a problem that they might interfere with. Even if your computer is never connected to the Internet it only takes one infected thumb drive or copied disk to crash your system.

Hi, I think I may have a virus, spyware or malware on my computer. It has been running very slowly, starting up slowly, loading desktop icons and programs slowly, and sometimes on the Internet the page won't even load fully. I have downloaded TrendMicro's HiJackThis, RUBotted, Housecall, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. The RUBotted wouldn't open. The Housecall says there's no threats. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware says there's nothing detected. *I downloaded these AFTER my computer started showing signs of spyware, malware, or a virus.*
When I started up my computer today it was a lot faster, and the internet would load the pages completely, and fast. I'm confused because I haven't found anything and gotten rid of it yet. I had done the system restore a few times though. I have a feeling that whatever it is isn't gone, or will come back.
I scanned with HiJackThis and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and have both logs. I hope this information helps.. I'd really like to have a malware-spyware-virus free computer.
Thank you in advance.

Wednesday:

When I close the browser, the CPU usage remains at 100%. This means I can't use any other section of my computer, w/p etc., unless I reboot. Using Avast which shows no virus and Comodo as a firewall.
I used to use Firefox but I've been using Chrome for about 6 months with no problems (well, not cpu usage anyway, so this has just started.

Thursday - new info which might help.

I have just acquired a new modem (Dynalink RTA 1320), as part of the deal for the broadband setup I now use. Before this thing arrived I had broadband with another company and therefore a diferent modem. Absolutely no probs with cpu choking. This is only started happening since I signed up with the new crowd and got this Dynalink. Could it be anything at all to do with that?

If I reboot and just use the w/p system (I have to do a lot of writing and research for my job) there's no problem at all. ONly when I open a browser.

Many thanks, here's the guff.

I hate wasting your time guys but I need a bit of assistance. The computer itself is not running too bad EXCEPT for...... there are certain aspects that are "slow".

Doing an email >> It posts one letter at a time, very slow! If you type out five sentences, it'll take around 60 seconds for it all to appear. I type it, then go do something else (lol).

Anything I VIEW >> The audio does not match up with visual. YouTube for example.

I also play an online game (very honest site, no issues in four years). The audio is like ten seconds ahead of visual, quite annoying. I did ALL the usual scans, came up with nothing. I use Avast, also came up with nothing. Can anyone help me out? I use Windows XP and Internet Explorer.

I did updates to the computer, registry scans etc., I think everything? I also did a system restore to an earlier time BEFORE this issie started but the issue is still there.
Can I fix this for free guys? (money is tight).

Thanks, Ken

That did not help the situation, registry scans, registry cleaners, optimizers...these may well be responsible for your system problems.

Ok, so this is a bit weird, my connection with SBC is suppose to be 3.0 mbps download, upload 812 kbps.

But i'm trying to download things such as, Grandado Espada: Sword of the New World Beta Client, or UO:KR Beta Client, too bad they're going extremely slow.

Both are from fileplanet, or i go to Filefront, or even mmosite, all, just as slow, and usually, end up not working, well with GE:SNW.

But i did speedtest.net, well easier just to show, then tell:
So yeah, if you can figure anything out, i would be very greatful, i have no clue what to do here.

Hello Helpers!!!
Running winxp-
First off i downloaded video ax object a few days ago and i then read up about it and realized it was a virus. From everything i read, it should show up in add/remove programs and in programfiles folder. It showed up in neither, the only thing i found was a folder named video ax access or something like that in programfiles folder but the folder was empty and no hidden files in it so i deleted it. When I downloaded setup.exe of the video ax object and double-clicked on it and agreed. Then it quickly installed without specifying where to save it?? Computer was totally fine for about 2-3 days no problems.

Second Problem which i think is the main problem (or only problem) the other day i was encoding the audio of an avi file in virtualdub and was downloading in limewire when the power in the house suddenly turned off and back on with-in like 2 seconds which restarted the computer immediatly. When it restarted it asked to start in safe mode or normal, so i started in safe mode and deleted the audio i was working on in case. then i rebooted and since then some things i do on the computer take about 5-10 times longer, while others are as fast as before?? It used to take 2-3 minutes to encode in virtualdub now 15-20 minutes. Also the mouse cursor about 75-80% of the time kinda skips and jerks across the screen when i move the mouse?? The internet for the most part is as fast as before but when i encode or scan or something like that it ta... Read more

That along with the fact that my wireless connection will be available and running, but programs are unable to connect to the internet unless I repair the connection leads me to believe something might be up. This happened suddenly and hopefully, I won't have to reboot before I finish typing this. Here's the HJT log if it helps any...I didn't see much out of the ordinary.

My computer has been running really slow. It seems to be the worst when I start it up, and it slowly goes a tad bit faster through out the day. I have ran everything I have to try to see what it is. I've ran Spybot, Disk cleanup, Defrag, CC Cleaner, Malewarebytes, Super Anti Spyware and AVG. Ran them in safe mode, none of them found anything. So I tried TDSSkiller, as I have had a Root Kit before. It found nothing. I've tried using a system restore point, didn't help. My Windows Security updates don't seem to be working as well. I tried telling it to install the newest updates, it acts like its going to.. but never does. So, I am at my wits end. Completely confused and would love some help. I am using Windows XP if that helps any and My default browser is Google Chrome. I don't dare try to use Firefox anymore, it seems really slow.-- Boopme sent me here to post a DDS log. I tried running Gmer, but it restarts my computer whenever I click on anything else. This scares me, so I stopped trying after two tries. A:computer acting up..hijackthis log included

Hi and Welcome to TSF

Please update your version of hijackthis as your using an old version. Also consider installing the SP1/SP2 service packs for both IE6 and XP.

Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run ad-aware SE with VX2 add-on cleaner, Spybot Search & Destroy (with updated database) and CWShredder as these programs will clean a lot of the crap out first. All links to programs are in my signature. Ok..on to the log?..

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also. Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be but make sure)

Mod. edit: Add in description from other topic in Am I Infected forum. ~ OBI don't know if I am infected or what but like 5 days ago my comp started acting weird. At the timeI was running a wireless network and all of a sudden like, I could only be able to surf for like only 5 minuted or so than I would get a connection problem message. So, I decided that it was the wireless part of it and I hooked my computer straight up to a hard line coming in from outside figuring that would take care of the problem but low and behold it didn't, I have ran AVG many times to see if I was infected but it came back negative. Hello and thank you in advance for your help.
This are the symptoms:
A- Facebook/Internet open tabs: It went mad like clicking 20-40 times very fast, as if someone or something was accessing the emails on my inbox.
B- Right click on mouse would not work (after restart now works).
C- PC freezing (now it is working but it could be temporary sense of happiness).
D- AVG PC Analizer found and I am unable to delete: 106 registry errors, 190 junk files, 11 broken shortcuts.
E- Hijackthis shows plenty of files that I should be deleting but tried and did not work (after reading your tutorial I understand that this is something that you do not approve doing).

QUICK NOTE: Because of your limit of 300000 characters I will cut the post and follow it with the rest of the data. Thank you

Please help me
I had or have a problem with a trojan or virus. It installed extra toolbars and other nasty stuff the other day. I managed to run Ad-Aware SE in safe-mode and cleaned allot of the stuff, Norton found nothing, Spybot SD freezes up, none of my registry cleaners will run (freeze up, even in safe mode), used a few online scanners and came up clean. I found one registry key that acts funny and will freeze up regedit just by high lighting it (have to use task manager to end process):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserAssist\{75048700-EF1F-11D0-9888-006097DEACF9}\Count
Computer also freezes every now and then for about 30 seconds and then is fine (started with the above problem).

I need some help. I believe my computer has been hijacked so I've downloaded HijackThis and extracted it into it's own Programs File but everytime I try to run it, it stops responding. My computer has been doing strange things like when I shut it down, it will start back up on it's own. I can hear my CPU's jump up and my computer starts to become loud. Can someone please help me find out what's wrong?

A:Hijackthis Won't Run/stops Responding - Computer Acting Up!

Open the HijackThis Folder, find the HijackThis.exe file, right click on the file and select rename. Type Analyze.exe and hit "Enter". Double-click on Analyze.exe (which is still hijackthis) to run the program. If needed, change the .exe to something else such as .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr. Example: Analyze.bat or Analyze.com

after posting a log you should NOT make further changes to your computer. This includes installing/uninstalling programs, using special fix tools, deleting files, editing the registry, etc. unless advised by a HJT Team member. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make may cause confusion for the member assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

My wireless keyboard/mouse combo mutes/unmutes when certain buttons are pressed, like ctrl, shift, f, and some others. Its quite annoying when typing and listening to music. Although I don't think it has to do with spyware or viruses, I wanted someone to check out my HijackThis log to see if there is anything I need to get rid of, because my computer has been running slow in general, and I'm hoping maybe somehow this keyboard problem will get fixed in the interim. Hi, people!

I have been trying to clear this problem for months now and am absolutely desperate.

Images either do not load at all, load very slowly, or very selectively, and not always. Occasionally all works fine for awhile but gets progressively worse.

Happens in IE as well as FF, but *only* eBay images are affected. Other trading sites and auction sites no problem; general surfing no problem - just eBay.

Suspect I may have piclked up a Trojan or Data Miner that is tracking my searches...??? Have also noticed that 'Saved searches' that should send daily emails are not working....but the site appears not to be a 'fake' - appears to be the genuine article (but how would I know??)

I have a Custom PC, Windows XP, Intel Core2 Quad, Firefox & IE

Have attempted to find malware with MBAM to no avail.

Have tried every other 'trick' available to improve eBay images. Have tried uninstalling Virus software. Checked for Add-on incompatabilities. Tweaked the registry via 'pipelining' and other similar tweaks to improve images downloads.

Emptied Temp folder; cache etc. No improvement. Defragged, decluttered, Disc Cleanup, the lot. No change.

Nothing I have done is working.

Have even tried logging in from a different computer and same problem is there, so assume it is 'linked' to my eBay ID somehow....

Can anyone suggest what else I could do?

A:eBay images slow; believe a 'tracker' of some kind at work

I am still waiting for someone to assist me with this issue.

Have been doing some reading on other forums and it might be I have some sort of 'Click-thru' issue.

The other issue that I didn't mention is that the pop-up ads don't work either, but I don't believe I have any ad-blocking software active - at least, not that I have installed..!

Can someone please help me.......
