I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a ThinkCentre M81 Desktop.  I have updated the power supply one capable of supplying 500W.  I have updated to the latest version of the BIOS.  However, I have tried two different graphics cards and neither one will "display".  The current Graphics card that I am attempting to install is a Radeon R7 240 from Gigabyte.  The machine powers on and the graphics card fan powers up, but no display... Any thoughts?

I have got a ThinkCentre M82 desktop which I maintain very well. I am generally very careful about what application I am inatalling and always up to date with paches and upgrades. I also have an active antivirus running on the machine. The machine was working perfectly fine till a few days ago. Last week I saw an alert saying that a new Microsoft upgrade is ready to be installed. So I went ahead and selected "Install and restart" the machine. While the updgrade is in process, my young daughter tried to switch on the machine since she needed to do some homework online, without realizing that the upgrade is going on. After that the desktop is not booting at all. There is no welcome message. The monitor is shutting down since there is no signal. I tried to force restart a few times but no success. When I power up, the machine starts automatically not having to press the switch on button. The green light denoting the power and disk operation is always on. I am not sure how to recover from this situation. Ideally, I will like to recover with my data intact. Or worst case, at least a clean re-install. But unfortunately I cannot even get into the BIOS screen to reinstall the OS. I have the disk of Windows 8 Pro that came with the machine and CDs for drivers. What should I do now? Where should I start?

Hi. I have a Lenovo Think Centre m58-6258 PC. The onboard graphic service is very disappointing. So I'm looking forward to buying a new Graphic Card so that I can get a decent enough performance while gaming. I searched the website and got the following details Video: Intel GMA4500HD3470 (RV620Pro) 256MB 64BIT ATX (VGA+DP) Does this mean that only these cards can be installed in my PC? Or I could go for any in the ATI RADEON HD3xxx series? Moreover, what kind of a card will it support? Will it have to be a LOW-PROFILE card? And is the ATI HD4670 Compatible? I'd really like to go for a ATI RADEON HD5xxx series. Please help. Thanks a lot.

A:Graphic Cards for M58 ThinkCentre?

Your m58 is a low-profile machine, so it will need a low-profile card.   I'm not sure which of the ATI line of cards are compatable, there are some cards, although they may fit in the machine, that are not supported.

Anybody else having graphics issues with the Radeon 9700 Pro? I just bought this thing. In some games I have worse FPS than with my old GeForce 2 MX 400 even with everything turned off (no AA/AF or TRUEFORM)

Also I got some wierd graphics problems every once in a while with Blocky Colors relating to Fog/Water effects. I think it may have to do with AA/AF being enabled, as that seems to be when things get ugly real fast. Anybody know if it may a driver issue as opposed to being a Game issue?

Best example is Asherons Call 2 (Beta), where the problems really stand out when trying to tweak everything to full.

So if anyone else is having some problems I would love to hear about it to see if maybe we can come up with solutions.

Hi there,

My computer came with a VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP card, which is apparently a Graphics/Video Card with onboard video (or the other way around, video w/ onboard graphics) Now, this is a terrible card- it can barely play any modern games. I want to get a new graphics card, but I'm concerned if I install a new Graphics Card, that because of the onboard video, it will affect this greatly, or if I actually need a video card instead of graphics. What do I actually need, and will it adversely affect anything on my PC.

I can provide more information if you want...

I'm running a Kt4V mobo with an Athalon 2500+ mobile..took some tweaking

The problem now is getting my Radeon 9700 pro to work. I install the VIA 4in1 drivers, restart then install the 4.12 cat drivers. On restart I can get to the windows log in screen somtimes to the desktop but only for a few seconds, it then locks up and the monitor goes black, flashing occasionaly. At first I thought it was a heating problem, but all fans are on and removing the case and using a home fan does nothing. I've installed older versions of the gfx and mobo drivers and nothing, rienstalled XP, flashed the bios and nada same deal. I end up booting in safe mod and uninstalling the drivers.

System Specs:
AMD Mobile 2500+
KT4V mobo
512 DDR ram
Radeon 9700 Pro
Audigy Gamer
WD 120 gig 7200rpm drv
CD-RW/DVD
the all mighty flopy driver for my bios flashing needs
320W power supply
XP pro
...thats it, I've also turned off fast write off and changed to 4X but nothing

Any help would be great thanks.

I'm looking into upgrading my machine with a dedicated GPU, and would like to take the AMD route for Linux compatibility. I've read the compilation post and know about the BIOS whitelist, but the information on which AMD cards are supported exactly is sparse. There seem to be some reports of the RX460 working on a ThinkCentre M82, but I wasn't able to find any more details about that. Has anyone here had the chance to give these recent AMD cards a try, yet? Specifically the RX4xx and RX5xx series? Thanks a lot in advance.

OK, I had some time for some Google-FU this afternoon and stumbled on the following: a thread in a German forum where a user mentioned that he was able to succesfully install an RX460 in his ThinkCentre M82an obscure YouTube video where the uploader seems to have demoed an RX 460 running in a ThinkCentre M83. I guess it's safe to assume that all their other videos on their channel that spot the same system config (RX460 + i5 4670) were also recorded on an M83This sounds promising enough for me to finally pull the trigger on an RX460. Stay tuned to this thread for the results once it's here!

i assume u got latest drivers right. did u check u connected your vidoe card to a molex connecter if it requires one.
i dont think its a video card problem. run prime95 for a a couple of hours. that would rule out ram cpu, or psu as a problem.
has this happened before? when did u get this problem? did you do something before that? is anything overclocked?

Hi all

Does anybody know of a reliable Web site that lists the physical dimensions of graphics cards?

As I'm sure everybody knows, some of the top cards are approaching 1 foot long which is rather mad.

If there is a site out there, I'd love to know of it because I can't find one. A site that doesn't make searching for a new card like researching a PhD.

I'm looking at the latest video cards that are out, i.e ATI X1600XL/X1800XT/X1900XT and Nvidia 7900GT. I'm not a big gamer and want image quality so am leaning towards ATI. I'm into video/photo editing andHTPC/Multimedia, but want the card to last 3 or more years into Vista and what apps in my fields of interest. I know DX10 is coming and who knows what versions after that in this 3 year time span.

Will these cards not be able to take advantage of DX10+ when it comes? Will they run DX10+ at all?

Should I get the cheap X1600XL and wait till next year when Vista/DX10 are in service and the video cards are uptodate to buy an expensive card then? I'm leaning this way but want varied opinion.

Thanks

what ever you do, make sure you have a crossfire motherboard. So that when 2 years comes down the line and your GFX card isnt cutting it, you can just slot another card in.

I prefer SLI for this.

RAM: 4x4GB Corsair DDR3
PSU: Corsair GS800
Others: 4x 2TB HDD, 2x DVDRW/Blu-Ray etc
NO GRAPHICS CARD: Using Builtin "Intel HD Graphics 3000" atm
Windows XP 64bits / Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (multi boot)

Here's what I am looking for, I had an old ATI Graphic Card Radeon X1300/X1500 (busted now) series card installed in my old pc, which would allow me to plug my TV with DVI-I & I could use my 23" Monitor through VGA cable in extended monitor. (& screen not referring to Cloning)

However the Intel 3000 Graphic Card I am using lags alot when I play HD movies, but more importantly it doesn't allow me to use my TV output as Theater Mode.

Theater Mode: Where you play movie or video on small screen window on your primary monitor while it plays full screen on secondary screen. in ATI Cards its called Theater Mode while in Nvidia its called "Video Mirroring".

Problem is New ATI or Nvidia Cards don't come with these feature anymore, I have Redeon 6790 card available but it doesn't have Theater Mode feature available, I have done 3 days worth of research so Nvidia stop the Video Mirroring feature by GForce 76xx series & ATI sort of ended by 4xxx Redeon. I've recently purchased a ThinkCentre M910x (tiny) with the upgraded AMD Radeon RX 460 4GB DDR5 128bit GPU. Along with this, I ordered a ThinkCentre TIO 23.8" Gen3 Monitor. The configuration and setup of the system works beautifully with the exception that using the M910x and the TIO monitor in AIO mode uses the onboard graphics rather than the card I paid for. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a workaround? I intended to begin purchasing this as a standardized configuration, but this potential GPU issue will bar that from happening if there isn't a way to get around it.

A:ThinkCentre M58p Graphics Card Whitelist

Can't recommend a card, but just wanted to make sure you knew that you don't have to have a graphics card with an HDMI port on it. The signaling for HDMI and DVI are identical, just different connectors. I have a cable that has a male DVI connector on one end and a male HDMI connector on the other. I connect from the DVI port of an ADD-2R card directly to my TV. There are also DVI/HDMI converters that accomplish this same task using the converter and a standard HDMI cable. Check the parts listing for your machine on the support site to see which graphics cards are supported for your model.

I'd like to know if the Quadro K620 is compatible with the M83, E92, or E93 desktops with 280W power supply.
According to NVIDIA, it only consume 45W max power.
I've been looking for documentation in Lenovo support but could not manage to find it.
Since the desktops I mentioned are already obsolete (as per our supplier), I only found using the look up parts list that it's compatible for P series workstations.

A:ThinkCentre: Quadro K620 compatibility (graphics, workstation)

The page for the Nvidia driver on this systems support page, lists the Quadro K420.   The K620 would have been considered  more apropos of a ThinkStation, rather than a ThinkCentre.   From a power perspective, the 45w is not a problem, since these systems can run a Gtx 750 at 60w.   And I'm fairly confident that the K620 would work also.

Perhaps before you buy the upgraded cards, test the K620 in the older system.  Please post the results, either way, here.  Thx.

While contemporaneous ATI/AMD graphics cards will work, newer generation AMD cards are generally not backward compatible with older ThinkCentres.   I suggest you search for which newer Nvidia will work with your system.

The readme file for the Nvidia driver for your system has a list of supported cards, but since it is from 2009, it is dated.

The problem I am having when I install an MSI Radeon R7 265 OC 2 gb https://www.amazon.com/MSI-R7-265-2GD5-OC/dp/B00JJNQ8ZA/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1492205350&sr=1-... the PC won't recognive the card. There is no entry in the hardware manager either. I have tried reseating the card itself into the PCIe slot and I have the six pin power connector attached. The fan is running and the card even heats up a very small amount. It's cool to the touch but you can feel a small amount of heat on the pcb. I have also made sure the video card selection in the bios is set to auto and have tried setting it to PEG as well. My bios version is 9SKT98AUS. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone,

I've got a M700 with the Tower. I need to install a Graphics Card in it to run 3D renders efficiently using Blender and 3dsmax. Therefore would like to install from among the more powerful ones that are compatible.

I have combed through the forums about other people who've struggled with figuring out what works and what doesn't.

I've even seen the nvidia readme that mentions a bunch of their Graphics Cards, but no where does it say that they work with the M700 (https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/desktop/g3vdo34us14.txt).

Some of these would need an updated power supply. Some of them may exceed the 45W slot that I believe the M700 allows. I'm really not sure.

I called up technical support and they told me to purchase an "Intel or nVidia graphics card". Not so helpful.

Thanks!

A:ThinkCentre M700: Graphics Card Compatibility for 3D CAD (AutoDesk 3ds, Quadro, design)

Firstly, if you are looking at the Nvidia driver readme file for the M700, then all those cards will work on that system (providing you have sufficient power and space.)   Secondly, the 45w limit is not a slot limit, it is a power supply limit (and official cooling limit for the SFF.)

For 3D CAD work, you will always get more performance for less wattage from a Quadro card, than from a GeForce (gaming) card, as the Quadro card are designed for those applications.  For example, the use of a Quadro P1000 card (47w) may negate the need for a power supply upgrade, and provide the same performance as a 120w GTX 1060.

From Puget Systems:  "Overall, if you are trying to decide what Quadro card to use with 3ds Max (and we do recommend using a Quadro card instead of GeForce if possible), we would recommend starting with at least a Quadro M2000. The performance gain of that card over a Quadro K620 is simply so large that it is well worth the extra money."    AutoDesk 3ds Max 2017 Quadro GPU Peformance, written on August 5, 2016 by Matt Bach.

The current Quadro P1000 is about the same performance as the superseded M2000.

Hi, I am looking for a video card that will fit in a  PCIe x1 slot in a Lenovo M720s, I think it needs to be low profile and half length or something, any suggestions?

I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre M83 Tower with an i7-4770, 8 GB of RAM, 500 GB Western Digital Hard drive. Hi all,

My PC is :

4524e3u LENOVO M91P CORPORATE TOWER CI7-2600  3.4GHZ/16GB/320GB , full tower

I just bought it used and installed my old power supply (Enermax Noisetaker 420W), as the one that came with this PC sucks. I installed my old video card (x1900xtx), and it booted fine. But unfortunately it won't support Overwatch (crazy I know...).

I want to know the best possible video card I can purchase for this PC ($100-$210, I'm all about value), for gaming purposes.
I was thinking about

XFX Radeon R7 370 995MHZ 4GB Dual Dissipation GDDR5 HDMI 2XDVI PCI-EXPRESS 3.0 Video Card

, but I read some other threads related that some people's PCs wouldn't even boot with a R7 card.

My PSU does have an additional 6pin power supply.

Someone else said in another thread that the best video card could only be Nvidia 750 Ti. I hope this is not true.

Ultimately, I want to play Overwatch.

Thanks all!

Hi, first time poster.  My workplace basically gave away some of these ThinkCentre desktops.  I figured I would take one home for my youngest son as he is only into playing browser based computer games.  Now after doing some reasearch, it appears my options are limited with outputting to a TV (HDMI) with this particular model.  It appears there is a DVI card lenovo makes that would output the video but there is no good way to get the audio and video to one input of a TV. Do they make a DVI to HDMI adapter with an audio passthrough? Also I am not aware that anyone has successfully got a video card to work in this model (Pci-e x1 or PCI), if anyone has heard otherwise please kindly send me the info.  At most, I would like play 1080p video if I could find a graphic card that worked (E6300 processor) Thanks in advance!

Lenovo ThinkCentre SFF M700 Intel Quad Core i7-6700, 16GB RAM, 500GB Solid State Drive.   Looking to upgrade GPU for 3D software needs (Not games). On the June 2017 compatibility matrix I only see the Nvidia Quadro K420 as applicable. That card does not have a high enough 3DPassMark for the software I am using. What options do I have to get a more powerful GPU for this machine?

I only need 1 video out.

Thanks!

The read me file for the Nvidia driver for your system on the Lenovo support page has a list of supported cards, Quadro and GeForce (gaming.)   Since you have a SFF, you'll need a low-profile card (I believe the best GeForce card is Gtx 1050 Ti), check the length to ensure it will fit, and you may want to upgrade your TFX power supply.

Hi All,

I am new ot this forum. I recently received a Lenove M920t with 16Gb Ram. I want to use it for phtoshop. along with it I use a 43inch 4K monitor.

When working in photoshop, I noticed PS is a heavy memory consumer and eats up most computer resources. I want to upgrade the RAM and video but I am unceratin of what to get:

1. Ram , I checked and it comes with only 1 memory card (1 ou tof the 4 slots). I remember readin somewhere eI should by similar RAM to prevent slowing it down or conflicts. The ram it comes with is a Samsung currenlty installed on DIMM2.

2. I am currenltly using the videocard form the motherboard, I understand PS will take advantage of memory and GPU of the video card so I am also considering upgrading to a better one. I readsomewher ethat having to video cards can create conflicts. Is it worth adding a GPU to a PCI Express  x16 graphic card slot ?   if so, which one do you recommend ?

3. I believe PS would also bennefit from a SSD. My desktop comes with standard hard drive. Do you recommend an SSD ? which one? Is it added to the PCI express 16x slot?

Thanks for any feedback!

I had a Geforce GT1030 video card in my M81 and each time it booted up, would go to black screen or go to black screen before finishing booting to Win10.  Ive actually tried several different Geforce cards with same results.  I took out card and used onboard video with no problem.  Gonna try ATI cards but seems like an issue with M81 and Geforce driver set.  I have even tried messing with bios settings to no avail. Anyone else experienced this?   Thank you!!

ok, a little more digging found a nvidia compatability list for win7 thru 8.1 but not for 10. interesting part is that i believe a lot of these cards use the same geforce experience drivers.
