I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

 I recieved my new ThinkCentre M920s and noticed two defects shown above in the photos:- 1. The headphone jack appears pushed to the side with a sharp copper wire sticking out of the hole 2. The vent to the right appears bent and misshapen My question is, am I being too picky about build quality or are these legitimate issues? Are they even issues at all actually or is there a legitimate reason that a sharp copper wire should be to the side of the headphone jack? Is the vent to the right bent and misshapen or is it supposed to be "curved" or something? I spent over 1250 ($1630 American) on just the tower alone, so I expected a premium product. Thoughts appreciated!

hey all,

after reading the owners' reviews of the Z170-A on newegg, i was shocked to find the amount of DOAs and reports of poor service form ASUS after having encountered a problem.

how prevalent / true is this? it seems like poor and declining QC is a common thread among all the reviews...

should i still go ahead with getting the Z170-A or should i consider another model / manufacturer entirely?

any recommendations?

I can most definitely confirm that Asus customer support is sub par.

But on the other hand they are very quick to chat and get your issue resolved.

I`ve never gotten a dead board out of the box, but if you damage a board you will not get a new one unless you buy a new one, you will get a re certified board.

Other then that my Z77, Z87 and Z170 have all performed just fine.

The Z170-A is a fairly cheap board

Hello everyone,first post here. We have 70 lenovo thinkcenter (M90, M700, etc ). For the first time I have a problem with a PC that I just unpack. That's a Win7Pro upgradable to Win10Pro. But when I start Windows update the screen is like that (see screeshot) since friday now. I have found several solution with Google but no one work.Have someone an idea for help me?Thank you.

Hello there,

I recently built myself a new pc and switched from a laptop. My headset is the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 and they worked perfectly fine on my laptop and the microphone quality was good.

However now on my new pc it is very very poor.

I have tried A LOT of things to fix this; updating drivers, reinstalling drivers, rollbacking drivers, installing HD Realtek audio drives, setting defaults.

I really don't know what to do at this point. I have also tried different headphones and the problem still exists.

EDIT: The sound has been described to me by friends as very "tinny" or like im at the bottom of a well or muffled. I have tried various settings within the Mic tab in razer synapse and none of this has fixed it.

i just bought my pavilion laptop yesterday to replace my hp pavilion envy dv6 and the audio quality is very poor on my new laptop. its very tinny and noticabely lower quality than i had before. The audio settings also only account for one studio quality Hz setting, which does not offer me te ability to change it as other have been suggested to, i have downloaded the latest drivers and am very unsatisfied with the speaker quality. its hard to enjoy anything im watching or listening to as account of them. help would be appreciated, thank you.

I'm thinking of upgrading or adding more Ram to my machine, my machine is custom built with a off-brand 1 GB Ram (2X512). I heard a lot about Corsair's line of memory modules, I would like to invite a few of your expertise opinion before purchase. I have 2 questions:

1. Is Corsair's product better?
2. Is there a difference between 1GB (2x512mb - 2 modules) and 1GB stand alone modules in running a P4 3.2GHz HT (Dual Channel) Processor on WinXP Pro?

I just received my new machine, and I also purchased the Next Business Day 2 year warranty.  Talk about USELESS! For starters the machine wouldn't recognize any of my Monitors.  It's just a BLACK screen.  After many troubleshooting attempts, I finally called Tech Support.  Apparently this is a HUGE PROBLEM.  A service ticket was submitted and the "REPLACEMENT PART" ordered. Long story short, I'm returning the machine.  The inability of the repair service personnel to provide answers to my questions is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.  I expected ?top notch service? and got nothing but excuses. I?m EXTREMELY disappointed by the ?LACK OF CUSTOMER CARE?.  NBD warranty should be Next Business Day, not ?uncertain? because the company can?t get the part.  As I explained to 7 different representatives this morning?The fact that there is a ?BACK ORDER? for this particular part with no ETA tells me that this part has ALWAYS been a problem for Lenovo.Lenovo needs to find another supplier for this hardwareLearning that the actual machine is manufactured in Mexico, and has to ?clear CUSTOMS? is another REAL problem?at least for this AMERICAN.More often than not, ?Cheap Labor? usually produces a ?SUBSTANDARD product?.Please forward this feedback to the CEO and other management personnel as deemed appropriate.

I've been buying thinkpads for years. This is my third thinkpad that I've ordered personally (asides from the ones we've received for our teams at work), and I also have a Yoga. I've been disappointed with it so far, and was wondering if anyone else has noticed a serious drop in Lenovo's product quality? I ordered a custom build T490 with the 500nits QHD screen. It took 3 weeks to arrive, after several different delivery dates which left me staying back at the office late on 3 different days unnecessarily to receive it. When it finally arrived it had the following problems:1. Touchpad randomly registers right clicks when left clicking - even with all gesture modes disabled, this still happens. The only solution is to roll back to a very basic microsoft driver, but then two fingered scroll doesn't work. Seems a hardware problem. 2. Small line of dead pixels in the centre of the screen. It looks like a small hair trapped under the glass surface. How did quality control not spot this?3. Overall build quality seems shoddy. The screen isn't even fully sealed at the top, so on one side I can see light from the display leaking out between the cracks. Again, how did this pass quality control? So disappointed after spending 1500 USD and waiting weeks for a custom build thinkpad only to have several problems and expect it to be taken away again.I have premiere support so have opened a ticket, but really I just want to send the thing back.My old T410 is still running like a ta... Hi All,I currently have a Lenovo ThinkPad T500. I've had this since 2009.I live in Manchester (UK).I'm currently hoping to buy a new laptop and I'm considering a T560.However, I can't find any reseller that carries this item in stock so I can have a look at the build quality. Lenovo won't help either. I got my Yoga 260 few days back, and there are couple flaws in the build quality bothering me. 1. There is a little bulge by the "yoga 260" logo on the screen casing above the hinge. It's unnoticeable by eye unless you look for it.2. Te rubber thing around the screen doesn't seem to be glued(?) on all that well. It's not really a problem, but it's bothering me. Should I take the laptop to warranty repair.

To keep it short, I've been using my Yoga for less than a week and the screen has been cracked twice without once being dropped or mishandled. The first occured the first time I put it in tablet mode and the second when I was putting it in the lenovo sleeve with the screen out and now I've completely lost touchscreen functionality on the right fourth of the device. I live in the middle of nowhere so there's almost no way for me to get it repaired under warranty. What can I do to solve this problem?

I ordered a PC and paid for it last month. It arrived in a warped case over two weeks ago so I returned it for it to be rebuilt.

Original Condition:
They've just shipped it back to me today in a different case and now the Floppy drive is not flush at the front like I believe it should be and instead, it is set back 3cm deep into the case so there is a significant gap. Am I right to say this is not satisfactory quality, and will it just mean dust gets straight into the case?

I have bought this litle laptop just a month ago and I have had so many issues espesially on the build qualityAt first there was a whinning sound on the screen after the bightness gets bellow 95%  also the trackpad was moving by itself randomlySo I would send it back to Lenovo after the hollydays were oven (because I needed a computer to study as I was away from home).On this month I got sooo many issues:-The "U" key broke off as I was typing-The spacebar key is only registered if I tap it with some force on the center -The left  click on the touchpad was not placed at the same height (I didint notice at first) so it's not as taptile as the right click -Screen sometimes will remain black on boot  so I will have to forceshutdown-And the blue paint on the back gets off!!I regret so much that I didnt return it earlier as the may put the blame on me for those issues...

4 Years ago I bought the Lenovo iDeapad y50-70 (960M version). Worked perfectly, but after a little over 2 years (right after the warranty expired, of course) I had to clean the fans. So my dad and I found out a screw was missing and two were not the right ones. Fine by me, we opened the back and cleaned out the dust. Not even a year later, the plastic edge around the screen started to come loose and one speaker's mid stopped working. The touchpad doesn't seem to respond from time to time and after just putting an ethernet cable in the ethernetport ONCE, it broke off leaving a couple parts wander inside the case which eventually broke a fan blade off.  Now either I have extremely bad luck since the only thing I do with my laptop is put it inside a backpack with a protective case around it, or the build of this laptop is extremely poor. My boyfriend has the iDeapad y700, can't say that he takes good care of his laptop, but his is a far higher quality build yet with the same specs.  My question is is if I am currently the only one having these issues? Or am I just having extremely bad luck? And do I need to replace the fans? If yes, where can I find replacements since I can't find any in the Netherlands.  I am kind of desperate at this point, since I do really like this laptop besides the cons it has now. Thank you in advance.

I am on my third Yoga 710 14" unit, all of them had different build quality issues. One was bent, another had a crack between the bottom and top of the chassie, both from factory. On the new one it only took a few weeks before I noticed new problems.  The laptop makes a lot of noise and creaks whenever I lift it up, open or move the screen lid, just change its position on my lap etc. It makes these cheap creaking noises often seen on very cheap old laptops and toys, but this computer is very expensive so it should not do this. It is not a very loud noise, but you can hear it almost all the time unless the laptop is stationary on a table etc. it is espesially noticable if I lift it up and rotate or mildly shakes it. I've never experienced this before, unless it was a very low end laptop. Have any of you encountered this issue before? There is also quite a bit of light bleeding in the top right corner.  It feels very cheap when it makes noises and creaks like that when I simply pick it up.

TO CEO LENOVO HellosirI have bought and yoga series laptop (Y50-70) On 23/7/15 the laptop which I bought in one week of my buying date my system hard drive  got crashed I took my laptop to the service center in Chennai where they took more than a month to repair my product  ( they didn't replace my product but as per company policies  they could ) then they replaced my hard drive and gave me the product then again in 2017 again I had a issues with the laptop keyboard & touchpad  it stop working  so again I had to vist the servies center in GUWAHATI (Assam) then they took 20 days to repair my product the replaced my front panal & keyboard then system was fine but this year on 21/01/2018 while useing I got n burning smell  inside of the laptop so i switched off then I have called the customer support I told them about the problem and i asked them if they can please replace my laptop because I have invested lot of money in this laptop  around  Rs 1 lac (1572 us dollors) and for this i cant run to servies center time by time then they told they cant replace my laptop now I was very disspointed  (next day again had to visit the servies center they inspected my case they told me they need to replace the motherboard they took 2 days and repalced my montherboard .) then when I went to the servies center  they showed my laptop I check my system and what I found all my screw of my system were not pr... Hi everyone - I am having one heck of a time with these ThinkCentre M90p units when trying to upgrade to the latest (Creators) build of Windows 10.  They keep losing the MBR and thus show the primary partition as "RAW" instead of NTFS as it should be.  This happens about half way through the upgrade when the system reboots.  It comes up to a BSOD 0XC000000F immediately upon attempting boot - this is, of course, because the primary partition is unreadable. Now, I have seen at least 8 of these systems do the exact same thing.  All hardware passes diagnostics with flying colors, so I know it's not a failing hardware issue.  I have done some Googling and have found where other people are having a similar issue, but none of them mention this particular model of Lenovo ThinkCentre. To test further, I did a FRESH install using an Anniversary build (1511) and then ran the latest upgrade to Creators (1607) from inside the freshly installed 1511 build.  The same problem occurs every single time.  Any ideas?  I know some of the posts I've found online state that running Windows in UEFI mode with GPT takes care of the problem.  The issue is that these units do not support UEFI (at least from what I can tell...)  Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide!

Hi, I own ThinkPad L450 since 10 months ago. I am very disapointed with the quality of plastics it is made from. It would maybe not be the issue if following did not happen: 1. LCD started to flicker and it needed to be replaced 2 times2. I did have to pull the HDD out and in for 2 times The problem is these notebooks are most likely to designed to be never opened (you should not exchange HDD, RAM, whatever...). As I mentioned - after 6months LCD started to flicker - lenovo replaced it under warranty. After 1 weeks the problem was again present - so they again replaced also LCD cable. Before both repairs I took the HDD out of the notebook due to security reasons. SO altogether 4 x opening the case. When you open L450's case more times (I think also 1st time is the issue) you will most likely broke one of the tiny plastic latch which holds the back cover aligned and tight with the palmrest. So the result of these excercises is I have at least 3 latches broken, there are gaps between the 2 plastics parts...Plus extra - they had to dismantle the LCD bezel 2 times, so even there - I have gaps between back LCD cover and the bezel... Nothing critical, but I would not await laptop which costs ~1000 EUR to have such built quality. I had ~500EUR laptops which I opened 10 times (cleaning of the fan, adding ram, etc...) and these had no such issue.. Sorry Lenovo, but I thought L series have better built quality and if it break under warranty ... I just built my system and the power doesn't stay on, so here's my very first post.
The fans spin about once, and the POST shows FF (bootup) for a half sec, then everything goes dead. I have to shut off the PSU to try again and the problem repeats.
I tried the PSU on an older MB and it worked, but that may not mean much since the old MB doesn't use the 4 pin power connector only the 20. Unplugging everything but the CPU and memory didn't help. I even tried it w/o the memory. I also tried it with an old PCI video card. Same result.
I'm thinking the MB is sensing a short (I'll uninstall and do a careful visual check) or a missing fan (my 2 case fans don't provide a sensor feedback to the CSYSFAN or CPWRFAN connections, but my CPU fan uses the 3 pin CPUFAN connector) or maybe the MB thinks something's too hot (obviously wrong). Any other ideas?

Hi, I am having some issues with a brand new Windows 10 build. It was built at a local shop and the first thing we did once we realized there was a problem was take it back and have them check the hardware. They say that the hardware is all fine and the issue we are having is software related.

The issue is that at all times the CPU is being loaded heavily. This is with zero intensive programs running in the background. The processes that are the main culprits taking between 10%-40% of available CPU resources are Service Host:Local Service(Network Restricted) and Service Host: Windows Audio Endpoint Builder. I have tried many of the common solutions online (Disabling superfetch, Fixing memory leak, Audio Drivers, running chkdsk,) all to no avail.

Here are the full system specs.

Intel i7 7700K
Asus Prime Z270-A
Kingston Hyper X Fury 2133 32GB
Samsung 960 Pro 512GB
EVGA 1080Ti FTW3

A:Brand New Build Issues

Ended up figuring out that one of the default drivers that windows installed for a complex sound card/line in setup was causing the issues. Removed and updated it and it fixed the problem! If anyone else has this problem, boot to safe mode to see if its a driver issue and if it is just start eliminating drivers one by one.

Hi all. Situation, Problem(s), Thoughts.


Just built new computer with:


- Computer will turn on for 1-3 seconds and then turn off. This continues to happen until I unplug/flip switch on PSU.
- Tried another known working PSU (600watt) and still same issue.
- Tried PSU with another tower, powers tower without issue.
- Reseated all components (including processor/Heatsink)
- Unplugged all but 24pin and 8 pin.
- Tried different outlet.


- At the moment I have requested an RMA for both CPU and Motherboard - Approved by NewEgg
- The motherboard does not have onboard graphics, which makes me nervous. Although I have the 460 graphics plugged in, so this shouldn't make a difference.
- Is there anything else I could try?

What do you guys think? It really could only be the processor and/or motherboard. Just seems so strange to have these faulty from day one.

So i just finished building a new pc, everything was fine for the first day. I stress tested all of the hardware and checked for errors. No problems. I then overclocked my processor and stabilized it (pretty easy on these new intel chips) and set up a game to download then went to bed.

When i woke up i was on the login screen and windows reported an unexpected shutdown.

I don't believe this is overclock related, i think it may be a driver or other hardware issue. One of the blue screen reports was something about a sata driver.

Ill run through the BSOD sticky steps now.

Hi all,

So it has been a very long time since I built a PC from scratch, last machine I built was a CompuPro S-100 system running Concurrent CP/M ! I am building a new box primarily for doing video & photo editing using the new 64 bit versions of Photoshop and Sony Vegas. I have just about finished the physical installation, today I will run the pump for 24 hours to check for leaks and tomorrow I would like to begin setting the box up.

Configuration: I have an Armor LCS cabinet w/ CPU and GPU cooling blocks, 750 watt Corsair PS, Intel DX38BT mobo, Q9550 CPU, 8 gig of Kingston 1333 DDR3 ram ( the only one actually recommended for this mobo), 1 Sony & 1 TDK DVD/CD RW drives (ATAPI), 4 Seagate 650gig SATA drives for a raid 5 storage array, 1 150gig SATA Velociraptor for the system, and 1 WD 150 gig SATA Cavier as a scratch drive, an EVGA 8800GT video card ( Vegas does not take advantage of a GPU except for some effects add-on packages ), HP 24" widescreen digital monitor, and Sony 19" analog flat screen monitor, and Full Vista Ultimate package.

My questions start with:

Once the Hardware is all installed what NEXT? I have heard that I can only put in 1 stick of memory until the OS is installed then add the others, but even before that what are the steps for configuring the mobo once the power is added? How hard is it to set up the RAID and is the built in RAID controller any good with Vista64?

Just a few comments from a retired computer builder.

SATA2 is mandatory for any new system today, but why RAID?
That's a killer if it goes sour on you.

I was given a Dell XPS 400 that Dell wrote off as "Broken and beyond repair" just because the two-drive RAID system was corrupted.
I reprogrammed it to operate on single drives and set up Vista Ultimate on the little PC.
I doubled the original 1 gig of ram and Vista is running satisfactorily on the PC today.

Over the years I've tried a RAID setup on several occasions and every time I've torn it down and gone back to a single drive for my OS. For the home computer user there is NO advantage to using RAID, except to tie up more drives to do the same job.

With so many drives and all that ram, you're going to have one heck of a heat problem. And, you can't stack those drives or the bottom ones will roast the top ones.
Also the current draw on the PSU will be considerable. A 750w supply won't produce that much power 'all day' so I'd want to go higher yet on the PSU.

You're also going to want to increase cooling as much as possible.
I'm currently running five case fans in my own system to bring in fresh air and to exhaust the heat from my three HD's and 3 gig's of ram. I had to do some cutting and drilling to get that many fans installed.
Every one of my three HD's has its own Two-Fan cooler and I've added a larger cooling fan to my 128meg Video card.

I just finished building a new PC, and now I have been getting BSOD from time to time. I have flashed the BIOS, and downloaded correct drivers but it does not seem to be working. I am going to do a mem test here soon, but hoping some one a little more experienced than myself can lend me a hand and point me in the right direction.

I was in Photoshop editing some photos, and was chatting with someone on Skype when suddenly I got a BSOD. The computer restarted before I got a chance to read what the BSOD said, but I did make sure to run a scan after the computer came back up. Any help would be appreciated.

Recently i built a new computer and it doesn't boot. I checked if the psu is faulty by using it to another computer and it worked. I'm 100% sure that i have the right cables pluged in. So I have just built my first PC, mostly brand new parts (excluding the memory) but when I press down the power button, the fans and LED's start up and then start pulsing as if there isn't enough power getting to them, nothing shows up on the monitor and when I remove my finger from the power button it shuts off again...I have no idea what's happeneing... i just built a brand new gaming rig, and when i tried to start it up, i got nothing. no lights, beeps, or spinning fans. I am sure i have all of the cables installed correctly, even had a technician come check it out. no dice.

i am wondering if the mobo or the psu were DOA, or if something else is the matter.

any help is much appericated.

I would first check to make shure that your power button is working properly. You can test this by jumping the two prongs coming out of you Moboard that go to your button.

if it still dosent work then find a new psu to try in your rig.

I have been wrangling with a random BSOD for about 2 weeks now on a brand new build. All components are 100% new except for two Caviar Green drives in Raid 1.

CPU: Intel i5 3570K
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-VLK
Ram Speed, size and #sticks: 2 X 4GB GSKILL Ares DDR3 1600
GPU: none (using iGPU)
PSU (do not leave this out):Rosewill Hive-650 semi-modular
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Boot Drive: Samsung 128 GB SSD 830 Series
Storage: two Caviar Green drives in Raid 1.
Optical: ASus 24X DVDRW

I experience BSODS often, at least twice a day. Never while I am at the PC (generally while sleeping and at work) Since this new build I have been trying to transfer my media files from my backup to the raid array- One folder in particular is huge, 452GB. So I set this to transfer before I go to sleep or leave for work. One out of every two times I try to transfer this I get the BSOD. I have run:
MEMTEST86+ for the recommended 7 passes, two times with no failures
I have run check disk multiple times with no errors
I re-installed windows fresh
Driver Verifier fails immediately after enabling it and rebooting
I narrowed down the driver causing the failure to Ndisrd.sys
If I disable this driver my Ethernet stops working

@Amy_Lenovo, @Mark_Lenovo: My Yoga 260 has developed a number of build quality issues after less than 1 year of ownership (see below). I had purchased an on-site NBD upgrade with ADP, but support tells me company policy is that if a service tech needs to repair more than one part, the device has to go into the depot. Seems a little nuts that we?d be penalized for Lenovo?s poor QC in that way. I can?t be without this unit for a week. Has anyone a) heard of this one-part policy for on-site service before, or b) had any luck getting Lenovo to service multiple parts on-site? I am using a Ideapad 100s (the 11" 200$ windows laptop)The laptop is over a month old and  I have had so many issues espesially on the build qualityAt first there was a whinning sound on the screen after the bightness gets bellow 95%  and the mouse pointer was moving by itself randomlySo I would send it back to Lenovo after the hollydays were oven (because I needed a computer to study as I was away from home).On this month I got sooo many issues:-The "U" key broke off as I was typing(The U and P keys height is lower than the rest of the key's)-The spacebar key is only registered if I tap it with some force on the center -The left  click on the touchpad was not placed at the same height (I didint notice at first) so it's not as taptile as the right click -Screen sometimes will remain black on boot untill I forceshutdown-And the blue paint on the back gets off!!(I've notice this after the edges turned from blue to white,So I started rubing a piece of paper on the back of the screen.Anddd Guess What the paint transefed to the paper).So will warranty cover any of theese problems?I Also heard that the service center on Greece has bad reputation and that makes me a litle worried ... :/

Hey all, this is my first time posting on the forums, so don't mind any bad etiquette. About 3 weeks ago I built myself a new computer for the first time. The installation went smoothly and everything worked perfectly fine. For the first two weeks, no errors in sight. I was playing games such as Bioshock Infinite (bloody great game btw) and Metro 2033 without issue. Then, a few days ago, my computer BSoD while playing through Bioshock. It went by rather quick so I couldn't read the error screen, but after a prompt reboot, everything was back to normal. After researching the error code (F4), I made the assumption it was my graphic driver. I reinstalled it and went back on my way. Since then, I've had three more BSoDs, each with codes differing from F4 and 7A. During these three times, I wasn't gaming or doing anything extensive, so I don't believe it's my graphics card. I found this site and hoped that someone out there could properly help me. I attached below my diagnostic zip.

Hello, like the subject line says I just built a new machine a couple weeks ago. Right away I started getting blue screens, almost all of them happened within the first 1-2 minutes after logging into windows, a couple times immediately after logging in. It happened before I even launched any programs. If I didn't get a blue screen within the first 5-10 minutes I usually could run the machine all day without getting one. I don't have any .dmp files from these blue screens because I didn't know until a few days ago about the minidump folder and how to enable dump files, never had to deal with BSOD's until this. But I did write down some of the STOP error codes. Don't know if these are helpful by themselves but these are some of the ones I wrote down:

STOP: 0x0000001E - the one I saw the most times

So I decided to format and reinstall Windows yesterday. Enabled dump files. I haven't installed any programs yet, I haven't even installed any drivers, no windows updates, nothing. All I have hooked up is the SSD, RAM, video card and dvd drive. I haven't actually been using the computer. I just turn it on and wait for it to get a blue screen so I have something to upload here. We've seen a number of BSOD issues with SSD's. Here's the information that I've compiled so far:

There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

Here's some suggestions:
- Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
- Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website)
- Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
- Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
- Update chipset and storage controller drivers to the latest available from the manufacturer of the device (not the manufacturer of the motherboard). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard!
....NOTE: Recently (Nov 2011) we had BSOD issues with the Marvell 91xx controller and an SSD. You may have to switch controllers also.-

Hello All

I have build a new gaming rig and installed Windows 10 pro but I have been getting bsod's and cannot figure out what is going on. I had it overclocked but since removed the overclock to trouble shoot the bsod. I have also run memtestx86 for 9 passes and no errors there. So I am reaching out for some help in solving the bsod the particular bsod that is coming up is System_Service_Exception. If anyone can help out that would be great!

Uninstall Webroot while troubleshooting and use Windows Defender as alternative.

Check Evga for driver updates for the Marvell sata controller driver

Uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Nvidia. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

Hello. Just put together new HTPC and it is randomly crashing.

OS: Windows 7 64-bit, OEM Retail
Processor: AMD A8-3850
Graphics: Onboard
Memory: Mushkin Silverline 8GB (2x4)
HD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB (WD1002FAEX)
Blu-Ray/DVD: Lite-On internal (IHES112-04)

It has crashed several times in 2 days. Crashed when clicking the "start" logo. Crashed in internet explorer. Crashed in google chrome. Crashed in XBMC program. Crashed all by itself from desktop.

Right before the screen goes blank, before the BSOD pops up-- the graphics are all messed up. Horizontal lines of jibberish for 1 second, then the crash. Computer temps are at 20 C. Memory has been tested overnight (12 hours) with Memtest and 0 failures.

I don't know what I'm looking for here. Any help?

Probably caused by : memory_corruption

Usual causes: Device driver, Breakpoint set with no debugger attached, Hardware (Memory in particular)
memory_corruption doesn't necessary mean that a RAM module is faulty, it can also point to a object which corrupted the RAM at the time of the crash, for instance a corrupted driver or program. Paging files and the CPU caches can also be causes.

Follow these steps -

Test for any corrupted drivers, by running Driver Verifier for least 24 hours, stop the test if a BSOD occurs before this time frame. Driver Verifier will place stress on the drivers within your system, which will cause corrupted drivers to crash and hopefully be pinpointed.Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

System randomly reboots, no warning, no specific applications running at the time, can happen 5 minutes after boot, or it can happen 6 hours after boot.

Important Information:
The customer is a professional DJ that does events around the country, and uses software called "Cubase" and "Reason" with lots of plugins (100+) that need to be installed and tested each time a re-install is done.

This is a brand new system build, Initially I installed Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit which was working flawlessly for two weeks, after installing all needed software etc.
After the customer tested it he realised that his ?500 MIDI keyboard used to make songs didnt work because there was no driver for windows 8, and also his camera's that they used to stream video directly online for the radio station they work for, doesn't have window 8 drivers. I explained that window 7 64-bit drivers may work but ultimately he had decided that he doesnt like/want windows 8.

Man this is frustrating. I hope you guys can help.

So all my parts from Newegg came in a couple of days ago, I put my build together, installed Windows 7 ultimate, and I'm constantly getting BSODS.

My computer is crashing randomly from my desktop, but CONSISTENTLY crashing at startup, especially at the "loading windows' screen. It takes 2-3 crashes at reboot to get to desktop.

I've run memtest86, chkdsk, and last night for 12 hours straight I ran a Geek Squad hardware hot run disk - no errors, everything passed with flying colors.

I've updated all my drivers, and the only thing on the computer at the moment is Windows, and anything that comes on driver disks. I've attached my dmp files and the requested reports.

I wish it was just some faulty ram and I could send it back to newegg, but of course it's not that easy.

Can someone with more knowledge than I, look through my files and let me know what I need to do? Thanks so much.
