Unable to see 'Office 365 Admin Center Preview' page content in IE11 after SysPrep

Q: Unable to see 'Office 365 Admin Center Preview' page content in IE11 after SysPrep

I've built a VM in Hyper-V to deploy to five PCs, but when I go to my Office 365 admin page using IE11: I'm unable to see the page content:

As you can see, the page has loaded, but everything below the black header bar is not showing, neither is the tab bar that should run vertically down the left of the page.

I thought this was a Hyper-V problem, but going back to an earlier point in the build shows it's fine. In fact it's okay up to the point just before running SysPrep.

My next Checkpoint is after SysPrep and first OOBE boot, taken at the point where the 'Hi there' screen prompts you to confirm regional settings:

At this point, if instead of completing the OOBE set-up, I press Clt+Shift+F3 to enter Audit Mode once more, I'm logged on as the built-in Administrator account and the problem's not there. If, however, I do complete the OOBE set-up and log on as
my user account (admin), the problem's there. So something's happening between the start of SysPrep and first user logon, but I don't know what it is or how to fix it.

I'm not sure that entering Audit Mode again after running SysPrep undoes any or all of the changes specified in my Answer File (it's a pretty simple one) so I don't know if it proves anything, but I've tried running Sysprep on a basic VM without the '/unattend'
switch to see if it's the same, but SysPrep failed.

IE11 seems to work fine apart from this fault, but I haven't really used it much yet so it's hard to tell - I discovered this problem purely by chance.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling IE11 using 'Turn Windows features on or off' - Uncheck IE11 - Restart - 'Turn Windows features on or off' - Check IE11 - Restart, but this doesn't fix the issue.
Not sure where to go from here.

Preferred Solution: Unable to see 'Office 365 Admin Center Preview' page content in IE11 after SysPrep

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey, I'm having a slight problem with my newly installed windows 7. At first, I was able to use the page preview function on the taskbar for my programs. However, it now won't display the previews of the programs that are already open in complete page format. Instead, it will only show the name of the program or website, just like in vista. So, I don't know if it is a registry error or not. But, could someone tell how to solve this problem?

Hello to all!

It has been a while since this problem first occurred. Now it has become unbearable. When I try to print, use print preview or enter page setup, Microsoft Word 2003 freezes. The same thing also happens with other Office 2003 programs like Microsoft Excel 2003.

I am not sure if there is a problem with my printer driver (the printer is an HP L2600n by the way) as I have reinstalled it many times AND I have no problem using it as a network printer and can print the same word documents FINE from laptops or other desktop computers in the house. Thus I know that the documents aren't corrupted. I can also print .pdf documents fine from this computer. I think this problem started when my laser printer driver 'disappeared' and when I tried to reinstall it I got a spool-related error. I reinstalled the spool driver and then when I tried to print a .doc file I was unable to do so. The problem may most likely be linked to Office 2003 itself but I have tried options like deleting the data key and renaming the normal.dot template, all which have failed to alleviate the problem.

I think that is all the information I can offer to assist anyone trying to help me with this matter, and I hope that the problem can be fixed without me having to reformat or something like that.

Thank you in advance.

P.S Not sure if this will also come in handy but my OS is Windows XP Professional SP2.

In Office, On the Help menu there is a 'detect and repair' option. It wouldn't hurt to run that. This could also be a sign that the hard drive is going bad (loosing stuff here and there)...

Hello,

I downloaded the win10 tech preview to see if I would be able to sysprep the machine, and I was able to.

Looks like Windows may have fixed the issue where Windows sees a upgrade/update as a new OS and does not allow sysprep to run.

Hopefully this will also work in the final release.

Hi I have a little problem with a web app that works fine when running from IE11 on local machine.
Because it is not supported on Windows 10, I push this app from the Citrix server 2008 (it's end of support is not the question here)
So the app "comes" to user Desktop from Citrix Server IE11.
1. open app - list of clients appears.
2. the name is selected and its entries appear.
3. open a particular entry.
and need to go to the next entry related for the selected client name.
But when clicking back it brings not the list of entries for the initial client name selection but Client list.
So the operator needs again to enter client id for bringing clients entries.

Basically, when hitting back it not goes to previous page (second one) but to the first page.
First page - client names. Second - selected client name entries. Third - selected entry page.
I think that there should be some IE settings that should fix the issue. May be something related to caching?
Any help?
Thanks.

I have tried to access or restore the content advisor in several different ways but it has not worked. I tried using regedit to type in the suggested 'RunDll32.exe msrating.dll,RatingSetupUI' but this did not work, and I found out on a few sites that this option does not work with windows 7 home editions. Then I tried opening the registry editor and going to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main' to create a DWORD for ShowContentAdvisor. However I could only get as far as the Policies tab - Microsoft, and there was no option for Internet Explorer! Under Microsoft there was MRT, SystemCertificates, and Windows. Any other ways to do this??

Hi,
1. I cannot find a solution for a problem accessing Microsoft forums websites from Windows 10 - IE11 and Edge browsers:
in EDGE - Hmm, we can't reach this page.   IE11 this page can't be displayed.
For about a year it worked at least from Edge. Now both cannot access Microsoft forums. All the other sites are accessible.
I am using a corporate proxy. The same sites are accessible from Windows 7 with IE11.
First I blamed our IE GPO with multiple settings. So for a test I placed my machine in Blocked OU (no IE GPO, proxy is set from different GPO).
Everything what I tried didn't help. The question: why just Microsoft forums (no other sites) are not accessible.
Did couple of tests from Windows 7 IE11 machines. The same Microsoft forums are perfectly accessible (all GPOs are applied).
Suddenly, found that one corporate Web App does the same : "This  page can't be displayed". On other Windows 7 it does work.
I am out of ideas now... cannot blame anymore our GPO or proxy...
Any advice?
Thanks

Print Preview is blank when I try to view the abstract of an article from the ScienceDirect web site.

ScienceDirect.com | Search through over 11 million science, health, medical journal full text articles and books.

Running W7 64 bit.

This behavior was not observed with IE9. Viewing in compatibility mode does not help.

"Print Preview" sometimes triggers the CPU to run high, only on the above web site.

(I wonder whether ScienceDirect do not want researchers to print abstracts).

Any suggestions?

A:Print Preview not working on Specific Web Sites with IE10 or IE11

Hi harin35,

Issue could be that the protected mode is enabled for the Internet security zone of the web page.

Try printing a webpage after disabling Protected Mode, to do this, follow these steps:

Click the Tools icon in Internet Explorer
Click the Security tab and uncheck the checkbox beside Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer)
Click Apply , and then click OK.
Close all open Internet Explorer windows, and then restart Internet Explorer.
Browse to a website and try test printing a page while running as the Administrator.

I loaded IE11 preview a few days ago and it has worked flawlessly. Today I ran Windows Update and after this IE11 would not open - I just got an error message saying IE could not operate. It took a number of closing of the error dialogue box to get the error boxes tto stop appearing. I have gone back to IE10 and have no problems again. I tried reinstalling 11 and it worked fine again - until I ran Windows Update again same problem happened. I am sure there is some conflict with an update or more - KB2879017 looks a likely culprit.

Grateful for any advice on how to get IE11 to co-exist with Windows Update. Thanks.

Hi, I was wondering if this was possible...

I would like to change all the default yellow folders on my Vista Ultimate x64 system to the Teal/blue icons such as those in the User folders. Those icons however are specific for that particular folder ie: music user folder has a Blue folder with a CD and music symbol.

Within imageres.dll located in %SystemRoot%\system32\ there is a blue folder exactly the same as the others however it is generic - like a blue default folder.

I can change the default yellow folder to this one, HOWEVER, i would like to have the thumbnail contents previews to function as they do with the yellow folders - but with this blue icon as default. Sounds simple...but i cant find any way of doing it.

The customize tab states that if you change the folder icon, no content preview will be available - how do i get around this???

Any help is much appreciated...

Hello.

We are monitoring windows insider preview to check in advance the updates that can cause incompatibility issues with our software and recently we have stumbled upon an unexpected issue: Internet Explorer (v11.1000.19608.0) can't reliably do https with a server
if the latter requires clientAuthentication. When accessing the URL, IE is offering the user to pick up his personal certificate, as it always did before, than it asks for PIN to the smartcard with the private key, but then it is no guarantee that handshake
will be successfully done - it may, and it may not, without any obvious predictability.

When such a handshake ends up unsuccessfully, we can see through server logs that client (IE) did not really provide user certificate (and TLS certVerify handshake message) in spite of fact that the certificate was chosen by the user and the PIN-code was provided.

As far as I can see, this first comes up with update specified in the title (10.0.19608). From our experience, older version, including all of the actual ones that are in circulation now don't show this kind of behavior.

It seems to me that there is smth with AcqureCredentialsHandle call, which no longer receives user certificate for SChannel credentials, even if certitifcate was chosen via GUI.

Can anyone direct me or suggest what am I doing wrong?

Hey guys,

I have a client at my workplace who has some problems in Internet Explorer 7 on a Windows XP desktop system.

You see, every time my client wanted to print out something, he/she usually goes into print preview. From there, there is a blank page on the first page, but there is some text on the second (and subsequent) pages. He/she is trying to print from a pop-up window with the menu bars and buttons in place.

I have to experiment and play around with the zoom buttons and even change it from portrait and landscape. My client is trying to print some reports and statistics for the VOIP lines on the administration page. How do I fix the particular issue?

My best guess is to upgrade the entire IE web browser to 8 (or maybe 9). Any other suggestions?

Hi there,

I am not sure if this question can be answered here or if it's in the right section but this is my problem.

I am currently using the Word 2007 Content Control Toolkit to add content controls to a Word 2007 document. These controls are then replaced later by XML that is received by a Windows Service. This all works wonderfully.

The problem I encounter is creating new documents can become cumbersome as they have to create a document, add tags, upload to a remote server and then generate a document using a external system. All these steps can be removed from the design process by having a Print Preview option that actually replaces the data as it would on my Windows service.

Does anybody know how I can accomplish this? Do I need to write VB script or is there a way to “place” the xml over the controls?

Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Johan

For a long time I've had much difficulty understanding the exact difference between the computer administrator and a user whose type is administrator. On my system there are two administrators - one known as "Administrator" and another with my name, Gary or Gary and Susan. Each administrator has their own profile. I used Windows 7 Professional.

The distinction doesn't matter to system operation in general. With MS Office Professional, however, it does. When I start MS Word or MS Excel as myself, for example, it won't let me access the help files. When I try to, a message states "There is a problem with one or more installed help files. Please repair your office installation and try again." I ran the repair program successfully, but as myself I can't access the help files. When I log in as user "administrator", I can but the access is limited. I can also access all features of the program in safe mode. Yet when I log in as myself I can only access the help files if I run the program as an administrator. This perplexes me because my user type is administrator. This problem has occurred with other programs from time to time.

Would someone please help me understand this, and is there a workaround? I can set the privilege level to administrator which will permit me unrestricted access to the help files, but then a dialog box appears every time I start the program, which I'd prefer to not see.

Hi, I'm on win7 sp1 x64.
I installed IE11, and when I rebooted I've seen the following:
- the classic screen "wait for installing upgrades" (in italian, so sorry for the rough translation)
- the message "impossible to install upgrades.."
- autoreboot
- finally reach the desktop, but it's a clean desktop of a temp account

What I have done:
- from the temp account I created a new admin account called "admin2" (the old one is called "admin", and "admin-PC" is the hostname)
- In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList I renamed my old account entry:

I rebooted but I still can't log in with the old account "admin".
This is the state of the register now:

In C:\Users\admin I still can see my files, but it has been created a new directory "admin.admin-PC" (the one Win7 uses now if I login with the account "admin").
Do you think I safely remove that SID**.old and edit the ProfileImagePath to points to C:\Users\admin again?

Do you think I safely remove that SID**.old and edit the ProfileImagePath to points to C:\Users\admin again?

Four years ago when I got my Dell Dimension 8400 with Media Center I quit taping shows, movies etc that I normally and used my Media Center to do the job. Mostly I use the taped programs so I can watch as I please and some I have recorded later on CD (Specials). Recently I bought a laptop and hooked it and the Dell up to a network. Then I can use the internet and watch the programs I have recorded in the front room with my wife using my laptop. The last few days I ran into a movie I recorded from the AMC chanel. It works fine on my Dell and had worked on the laptop. This one movie which I wanted to play in the front room on the laptop gives me the message "Restricted Content. Restrictions set by the broadcaster or originator of the content prohibits playback of the program on this computer". I had already started to watch it on the laptop but was interupted several times. Is there some setting that causes this?. It plays fine on the Dell.

I have two systems, one running Windows 7, the other running Windows 8. They have the same motherboards, processors and tv tuner cards (Hauppauge HVR-2250).

In Windows 7 I can see all my local stations and the guide data for those. So I can record the OTA (over the air) content.

In Windows 8 w/Media Center, I can see and record all the stations, except one. On this one station, I cannot see the guide data and cannot record any content. I can see the content if I go to live TV using the tuner card.

The station changed their transmitter in November and advised everyone using the OTA signals to rescan for the new transmitter. This channel, a local CBS affiliate, also shows up in the series 9000 internet channels I see in Media Center, but have not yet been able to access.

So, does anyone know the current state of OTA content protection and if this station might be using it? I can find no other reason for the blocked guide data.

Thanks

Hi:

I'm having some difficulty with Facebook. I'd like to change the photo on my main page and try to find out why all sorts of random people are showing up as my friends when I don't know any of them (and wouldn't care to!).

Facebook help tells me to go to my admin page by clicking on hide/show. I have this for my business FB page but not for my regular page. When I click on my photo and then edit, there are some spaces where I can annotate the picture but not remove or replace it.

Hoping someone can give me a little help.

Many thanks,
Jane

I setup a new user on a stand-alone Windows 10 laptop this weekend and noticed that most websites hang in both Edge and IE11.  I had a look at the user's rights and made sure that they were removed from the local USERS group and only were a member of
the Administrators group.  Then I looked at IE itself and found that if I ran IE as administrator, it worked fine, so I logged the user out and back in again, and still nothing.  I also noticed that IE has a setting to run with administrative privileges,
which I enabled and still nothing.  I thought at this point that it might be a website issue, or at least an ISP issue.  I tried the same sites with the first logged in account on the same machine and everything worked fine.
At this point I was looking at a user rights issue, I thought.  Then I tried the same sites with the new user using Chrome and everything worked fine.  So I'm at a loss as to what this might be.  I've check that IE is using software rendering
so that's not the issue.
Any ideas, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
An example of a site would be to go to www.webex.com then try to log in.  The login page just spins and spins.

Noel,

I believe you are on the right track when saying to marvinnash33 that the Error 9c59 problem is a missing WinSXS IE9 assembly.
Cannot update to IE10 (or 11) Code 9C59
I tried to uninstall IE9 and return to the default IE8 included with Windows 7. Cleaning out temp files lost the original IE9 Install folders, so I used a MS-FIXIT utility named MicrosoftFixit.ProgramInstallUninstall.MATSKB.Run.EXE

That MS-FIXIT fails on the IE9 uninstall with the SAME errors reported in the DISM Log and IE##_MAIN Log as found with the IE update/install failure.

I cannot figure out how to set the IE11 in Win 8.1 to only print a web page in Black and White. In Win 7 I had found it but with great difficulty and I believe it was in Internet tools if you drill down far enough. In Win 8.1 I cannot find it so that when printing out a web page that has red and blue it is almost impossible to read on my Dell 1700 monochrome laser. I tried in the Devices and Printers, Dell, both Printer preferences and printer properties but cannot find anywhere to set. I am fairly certain it is a setting that has to be made in Internet Explorer but they seem to have hidden it (I think I was using IE9 or IE10 in Win 7). In Excel you can set that parameter for each page in page setup.

Any ideas where to look?

Have you looked in the printer itself ?

When I had a printer, I could set B&W printing in the printer's options.

IE11 on this computer abruptly stopped displaying websites with "This page can?t be displayed" error. Firefox on the same machine seems to function properly. No other obvious anomalies. Users software requires IE11 so it's critical to use that browser. Looks as if the virus software may be expired. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

I'm running Win 7 Pro x64 and IE11. I often get a situation while browsing where I click on a link to read an article and the page comes up blank with the text: This page can't be displayed.

This condition seems to happen randomly. I usually have several tabs open. Once IE11 starts doing this, the majority of tabs produce the same blank page. I even opened a new tab and clicked on Google where the same thing happened.

The solution is to close IE11 and restart IE11. I've tried other solutions such as a complete IE11 reset, but that doesn't cure the issue.

Is there a fix for this condition?

Regards

Hello,
sorry, i'm not a computer wizard although I know my way around a bunch of these things.  Have the strangest thing, which I can't figure out.  I have this website, which is giving me always the "Page can't be displayed" error, together
with the TLS and RC4 comments.
Strangly enough, this is the only site where this happens.  All other various sites are accessible (e.g. Google, Facebook, Youtube), so it doesn't seem to be a connectivity problem.   FYI : i also get this same problem with Chrome.
I believe I had no problems with this on my previous computer, who also had IE11.  It must be some of the security settings or some kind of access right, although nothing special is installed.
I have the TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 turned on.  I also tried using the SSL 2.0 & 3.0 but no success.
Any suggestions ?

Hi

I have a problem. My office has many labs, but from a single lab when someone prints a word document onto a particular printer, it gives out an extra blank page. This blank page is not seen in the print preview unlike which was discussed in the previous forums.

This problem has been encountered only for word documents but not for .pdf files. I have tried even with a single page of word printing, it gives out another blank page. Can anyone resolve this problem. I dont think its the problem with the printer because it works well with other labs and .pdf files from this lab too. Anyways its a HP Laserjet 5SiMX.

A:Word document prints an extra blank page but that blank page is not seen in preview

Is the printer in question the default printer for the PC in that lab? Print preview shows how the document would appear based on the settings of the default printer - using another printer can cause changes such as this.

OK, this one is a twist on a very often reported problem on these forums:

Internet Explorer 11 will not print and just shows an empty print preview page. (Edge works/prints fine).

However in this case I know what caused the issue but not how to resolve it. This issue CANNOT be repaired by the commonly offered 3 or 4 step Microsoft tips that are all over this site and elsewhere (disable protected mode, Low folder permissions, etc, etc,)

Here is the complete story: New laptop HP Z Book 17 with factory installed Windows 10 Pro. All worked great when first run. No issues. I installed Office 2010, Quicken, AutoCAD, Chrome ........ etc. All worked fine.
Then I installed a specialist program, 'Helvar Workshop' - which is a lighting control application that I need for my work and originally written for XP.
After installing the Workshop program it worked fine but I was no longer able to print or preview in IE11. This is not a new issue to me as it also broke the same functions with IE10 and 11 running on Windows 7. I only ever 'resolved the problem then by doing a system restore in Windows 7 and ultimately installing an XP VM to run 'Workshop'. In that configuration it did NOT break the print functions in XP's IE 6 or 7.

Having experienced the problem again on the new Z Book I went to System Restore and discovered that HP had supplied the machine without activating System Restore! Yes, I should have verified it was active before installing any apps ........ but seri... Read more

I've seen that on other brands of computers, both Desktops and Notebooks, so I think it's more a Win10 thing. Saw it on my own Custom Win10 Upgraded from Win7 so I made the change.

I have a problem with Internet Explorer 11 and office online.
Some of my users have access to a sharepoint.com site where they open and edit various excelfiles.
If the sharepoint is accessed with either firefox or chrome the files are opened localy in the webbrowser with office online wich is perfect.
But if they do the same thing in IE11 office online is not used, instead the local office installation is used.
In this case I want Internet Explorer to open in office online, like it does in chrome and firefox.
How can i control that office online is used instead of the local office installation, without uninstalling the local office.
We run Windows7 64bit and Office 2010 32bit.
