My Omni 100 is flashing colors

Q: My Omni 100 is flashing colors

I was in the middle of playing a game (agar.io) when my pc started flashing colors. First, a [red, green, blue, and white] screen, then alternating black and white. Then a combination of half black and half white, until it settles to an all black screen. After going all black, if I press a key on my keyboard it repeats everything. It does not allow me to go into safe or do anything at all. I can faintly see my homepage in the background. Even when I unplugged it and turned it on again, it's the same.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Just wondering, like in AIM when you get a message and the toolbar's window flashes, is there anyway you can change that color? I really don't like the color that Microsoft has picked for me.

A:Flashing toolbar colors

Try the options, settings, or properties and see if there is a way to change it there. You can also try the help on the AIM and see if you can search for a resolution.

Hello

I'm having some major problems with my computer. When i got home yesterday (i had left my computer on like i do almost every day at work) the screen had froze with lots of different colors on it. A couple days before it happened, the screen would sometimes freeze while playing counter strike source for example, flashy weird colors but then return to the game in a couple of seconds. But this time it wouldnt go back to normal.

Now it flickers while booting and it normally freezes on the at the welcome message right before i get logged on, or it will let me log in and then freeze 5 seconds later. I successfully booted it in safe mode but after a while it started to appear weird colors and flickering in safe mode aswell. Oh and when i got home yday i managed to download newest nvidia drivers and install them but it didnt help.

Things i've tried:

Clean the whole pc. There werent much dust, because i cleaned it 2 months ago.

place the gpu in the second spot on my motherboard

tried with a different hard drive but that didnt help either ;(

Now I'm thinking that the gpu is broken If its not, what to doooo? Thank you.

Specs:

Nvidia GeForce 9800gt gpu

Gigabyte P55-UD3 motherboard

Hello Everyone!

This is my first time posting on the forum. I'd so appreciate any help you can provide me; I'm incredibly frustrated with this problem.

I have a Dell XPS Desktop running Windows 7. It has 16 GB of RAM, an i7 processor, and I added an MSI Radeon R9 270X 2GB graphics card back in January. (Please let me know if there's any other information that's relevant and how to get it and I'll post it immediately.)

Anyway, the past few weeks, my computer has been randomly crashing at random times. Often when I'm only surfing the internet, not even gaming. When it crashes, the screen sometimes flashes a few different colors before settling on one of them. Sometimes, it just has one color. (My last crash was a green screen, the time before, baby blue.) Sometimes there are also a series of lines as well, though I haven't seen that in awhile. There isn't any text or indication as to what the crash is.

Sometimes the programs seem to keep running when it happens. I was listening to the radio on it when it crashed and I could still hear the radio at the crash screen. Earlier today, though, I was Skyping and it crashed, but the call was ended as soon as it crashed.

In any case, here's what I've already done troubleshooting:

I am at the end of the line. I have tried installing and reinstalling games, drivers the catalyst command center that regulates my two 3870s and still no fix. In the past I was able to play this game without a problem but after a fresh installation windows the game no longer plays without the grainy color flashes. The game plays fine but the screen flashes these annoying bright colors. I have it running on administrator and compatibility mode yet it does not make a difference. I have a hunch that it may be driver related since the game plays and does not crash.

Please if anyone has a new train of thought any help is welcome!
Thanks

The WRT320N manual says that the flashing icons indicate that there is network activity (at port #1, which is my desktop) and that there is network activity over the Internet port (icon looks like the planet Saturn). The icons are to flash either blue or green, indicating the different speeds: blue for 10/100 and green for GB speeds. My unit is flashing a yellowish amber. Things seem to be working OK and I had just installed a new router (Arris 722g) to accommodate the new speed levels (15-30 MB/s) that Comcast is now offering in my area. My guess is that the flashing icons are showing the higher GB speed, but their color has me stumped

A:Are the colors on the flashing WRT320N icons, correct?

That's probably supposed to be green, but done poorly. Or, have you actually seen it turn green before?

Hi,
A friend recently bought an Inspiron 3847 tower. I helped set up the computer and install some software. I left. I planned to come back after MS Office finished installing. At some point the screen started rapidly flashing bright solid colors.
Pressing keys on the keyboard didn't make it stop. I tried unplugging the monitor. I heard Windows play the device disconnect sound so I guess the operating system wasn't frozen. I tried powering off and on the monitor. I pressed the power button to put the computer to sleep. I assumed the computer was set to go to sleep if the power button is briefly pressed. I thought doing that might help if the problem was graphics driver related. I woke up the computer, saw the Dell logo, and again saw the rapid bright flashing of solid colors. I tried putting the computer to sleep and waking it a couple more times. I found that wouldn't help so I held down the power button to switch off the computer. After switching on the computer the flashing didn't happen and Windows normally started.
What caused the flashing? How do I fix it? We need this computer to work correctly and be reliable.

A:Inspiron 3847 Solid Flashing Colors

I looked through the Windows Update installation log. I found a graphics driver update failed to install. I guess the computer failed to switch over to the new driver or go back to the old one before restarting. I reset Windows 10 because there were more problems than failed updates. After starting over I made sure updates from Dell's update program were installed correctly. The updates from Windows Update installed, too. So far, the computer is OK.

One day I was doing my usual buisness on my computer and then suddenly, it went into some sort of a rainbow effect and so I got scared and turned it off with the power button. And then I turn it on back on, and I see a flash of many different colored pixels and lines, but my computer starts up normally. I then run a random program (wow) and I suddenly get the "frequency out of range" message on a blank black screen, and then a blue screen! This happens every time I turn it on, and I can't seem to get it to work properly. I'm using an identical Vista to provide additional computer information.

I have installed Windows ME and the display is in 16 colors. I have an ATI Technologies Rage Orion Video card. I suspect that I need an update driver or a ME update. Under System Summary>Problem Devices> I have the following lines:

IRQ Holder for PCI Steering PCI\IRQHOLDER\62 error code 22

Under Components>Display> I have the following:
Name: STD PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA)
Adapter Type: Not available
Adapter Description: (STD display type)
Bits/Pixels: 0
Driver: c;\windows\system\VMM32.vxd (,1,019.88KB (1,044,352 bytes) not available)

I found updated drivers for Rage 128 that should work with the Rage Orion and within ME. I can not install them because I get an error during installation that states I need DirectX 8 installed. I downloaded DirectX 9 (dxwebsetup) via my other computer to a floppy and tried to open it on the computer in question. It starts to install but quits because of an error that states "try later or check network". Is that the only way I can install DirectX which is needed to install new drivers? Is there another way to fix the 16 colors to 32 colors?????

A:Solved: Display in 16 colors-Want 32 colors. Do I need a new driver?

does your motherboard have an on-board video? if it does, enable your video via bios and uninstall (add/remove hardware) your video card. if you can access the internet then try downloading DirectX. install your video card afterwards. or if you dont ahve on-board video and can access the internet, download directx directly and see what happens try installing your driver again. good luck with windows me.

Hi Everyone!

I just joined and hopefully I can be of some help for others, but for starters I need to ask for help for myself! Before posting this, I did a search of the forums here but did not find anything identical to my issue.

I have a 10-month old Acer 5100 notebook that will no longer start Windows Vista (Home Premium if that matters).

A few nights ago I noticed the machine was at the "Windows did not shut down properly" screen (black background/white text). Unfortunately I was not around the machine when it got into this mode. The screen showed a list of 5 or less choices - I think the default highlighted choice was to let Windows search the hard disk for errors. I chose this but it didn't seem to start after watching it for several minutes. So being the impatient sort, I rebooted the PC and the same black screen with choices displayed. This time I selected 'Start Windows Normally' but when the system came back up it ends at the same screen again. (I believe the "Windows did not shut down properly" screen I was seeing was not the normal one I've always seen, but a different one with less choices, if that makes sense)

So I said forget this, I have a backup. I tried restoring a backup of the hard drive I made with Acronis True Image (I booted off the True Image CD). I chose to only restore just the C: partition. Both times I tried, it gets to over 50% complete then there's a message about the image being corrupt.

Not sure if this is the correct catogory to post my question in, but here goes. I have a HP Omni 100, about 6 yrs old. About a month ago, I went to the restore function & my computer crashed. Now, all I keep getting on my screen, after the initial start up is select keyboard function, or something of that nature. I hope I have not lost everything I have in that computer, since I have pics I cannot replace. Two or three months ago, it started to act funny. The page I was on would turn into a smaller square in the middle of the screen, and that square would be full of multi colored lines.(Like snow on a tv screen) Now I cannot get it to do anything but show the keyboard page????? Please advise as to what I could or should do. THANK YOU Roger

Hi guys,

Please anyone has info on the linksys omni-directional antenna HGA9N? To what devices can it be connected? Its outdoor range/bitrate? Is it reliable? Can it support large number of users/traffic? If anyone has configured or installed one before please i would welcome his comments on the product. Info on other types of omni-directional antennas would be really helpful.

Thanks

A:omni-directional antenna

Any antenna will have the full bandwidth of the wireless connection, it's only purpose is to more efficiently use the power available, as well as provide more signal strength for incoming signals. It can be connected to any router or wireless card that has a reverse SMA connector, which is the standard for removable antennas. A hi-gain antenna should be very reliable, since there are no active components. As long as you don't abuse the cable, it'll probably work forever.

I know the power is on as it buzzes when you touch the MS logo at the bottom of the tablet

Hello:
Please I really need your help. I don't know what happened with my desktop HP Omni 100Pc. I can turn it on but when it is about using it it completely crash and freezes.
It has windows 7 home basic 64 bits sp1 . It is an old computer but it was working great.

I'm unable to restore it to previous point because all my restore points where deleting. I was scanning my computer yesterday with norton antivirus and my hp turned off by itself.
If want to check my documents or even open a photograph, my computer crashes.
I used to use auslogic software but as it expired I opted to delete it.
Sometimes when I wanted to download something and the norton block I would turned off the antivirus for a while and turn it off. I rarely use my computer because mostly I do everything on my mobile device but since I started studying I really need and now it is not working. Please help me I don't know what to do and I don't have money to fix it or buy a new one

Hi Folks,

i am using omnipage 16 version for OCR purpose,i want to run the .exe in my application but the condition is it should run in the background meaning (NO GUI)..if i give parameters to it should take and processes it and giveback the output..the whole thing should be done in the background because the client shouldnot know about this Omnipage.

this is my urgent requirement.

A:Solved: Omni Page

I am not sure omnipage was intended for this purpose. I.e. the developers of omnipage want people to know that they are using their programme.

I got a HP Omni 27-1210xt into my shop last week and it had a bad hard drive, so i replaced the drive with the exact model and blew out the dust while i had it apart and after i put it all back together the video never displays, it did once but the unit shut off like 10 seconds after it came up, the other times you can hear the fans and the system running but just never shows a video, I have removed the memory and turned it on and it beeps so i would only say it rules out the motherboard or processor, so I'm looking for it to be video. Now I have located the processor but I do not see where the video is on this unit, doesn't appear to tbe onboard, maybe under some of the other covers? I'm about to strip it down some more. Any trouble shooting tips or ideas guys?
