Dual Screen - 1 Touch - 1 Standard

Q: Dual Screen - 1 Touch - 1 Standard

Hi all i have two monitors attached to my system

One is a standard DELL SE198WFP (eww i know but it was free)
The other is a NEC AS191WM (touch screen)

When i have the NEC plugged in on its own i can do the touch callibration without any issues. However when i attach the DELL and redo the callibration it is off by a mile, it thinks its interacting with the DELL.

For example i press start on the NEC screen and it randomly places the mouse on the DELL monitor.

Any help on this would be greatly appriciated.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi Addramyr,

My name is George from Dell Social Media Team. Did you install drivers for NEC? If not, download appropriate driver from http://www.necdisplay.com/monitor-software

Is it possible to upgrade from the stadard U410 the touch model? I know my compluter uses LCD screen B140XTN02.0, but can I just get B140XTN02.3 with the touch screen and digitizer or will there be a missing connection somewhere? If there is, is there a way around that?

So I have a small 10" touch screen as a secondary screen and it is recognized and installed when I plug it in the computer. My problem is that the actual touching is severly misplaced and I can notuse the calibration tool (Tablet PC Settings in control panel) to correct this problem. It is as if the vertical and horisontal inputs of the screen has been swapped. If I touch the right side on the screen and drag my finger to the left I can see the cursor go from the top to the bottom and if I touch the top and drag down the cursor goes from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen.Installing the drivers from the manufacturer of the touch controller, http://www.eeti.com, did not help at all. It just says there are no touch controllers connected to my computer. Is there a way I can correct this problem?

I have a hp pavilion touchsmart 15-n029so. Unfortunately my touch screen is defect, so 5-6 points on the screen is constant active. Until recently I managed to disable the driver for only the touch driver (not the screen) through device manager, but then a lately update for windows 10 activated the driver again. So now the 5-6 points is constant active, and I cannot login because the screen will not focus on the login field.  This means I cannot login to windows 10. I have also tried to start safe mode (turning off computer repeatly, so it starts up in safe mode), but here the touch screen driver is also active.  How can I disable the touch screen driver without login into windows 10?

I'm upgrading from a normal 17" crt to TFT to save space, but going the route of dual monitors. I'm wondering if it's best to go the standard (square) route, or go for the newer widescreen models?

Baring in mind that I will use the screens mainly for day to day work. I do a little gaming every now and then, and not too bothered about movies.

Also, the dual monitor factor is important. Is it best to have two standard screens when having dual monitors, or two widescreens? Or is it purely personal preference?

Opinions?

My Lenovo U410 Touch recently got damaged - the hinge broke causing the touch screen to **bleep**.I was told that a repair was not feasible as none of the repair shops near me were able to source the parts needed.I therefore bought a new laptop. However, there is a lot of data on the old laptop that I want to access, including sorting out the licensing of MS Office (by uninstalling from the old one).I cannot do anything about it as the old machine is completely unusable as due to the touch screen being cracked, it seems to think it is constantly being touched in multiple places on the screen. This means that I cannot access the laptop to copy the data or uninstall Office. Anyone know any way around this that doesn't involve taking it to a repair shop to "recover" my data. Cheers

hi Hersh,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First do a Power Drain
     (If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
                  If not
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

HI All,

its been 24 hours since my Win 7 ultimate edition installation, and still i have not managed to get my dual monitor working.

I was running Vista OS for 2 years and was working everything fine. But now with Win 7 my second monitor (Samsung Syncmaster 2333) is not being detected.

I went in the Asus driver page and it seems that for the Standard Vga grafic card there is still no driver for Win 7, is this possible?

If it is really like that, how can I get my dual monitor working? I thought about buying an external graphic card...is this the only solution or am i missing something?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Gabriele

A:Standard VGA (Asus) does not detect dual monitor with Win 7

To tell you the truth i heard ways of doing this but your onboard vga adapt might not be strong enough for dual screen support

I can tell you i run dual monitors off the same vidcard im sure i can throw a third one in the mix off my vga but your mobo should give you the specs on the onboard adapter where it should give you in full detail the capabilities

If not i suggest getting a video card that fits the bill also make sure you have adaquete power to supply the card or the upgrade will be meaningless

I've had this problem ever since I used Driver Cleaner Pro to get rid of all registry entries of my nForce3 drivers before actually uninstalling the drivers through Add/Remove Programs:

First of all, every time I insert a disc in my DVD-ROM drive, the D drive disappears, after which I can't eject the disc unless I restart. Also, if I try to reinstall the nForce drivers, it looks like it's installing the Parallel and Serial ATA Controllers, but they never show up in the Device Manager even after restarting. I admit I made a stupid mistake, but now I don't know how to get rid of it.

What OS are you running on the HP machine? (It's not the system listed in your Specs.) I expect that the drivers included with Win7 (if that's what you're using) should be adequate. I'd check the version, but I have no IDE drives on my PC.

Hi there, sorry to be a bother.Like the title says, my touch screen stopped working. I went on to my computer one afternoon and found my mouse stuck in the top left corner, fidgeting. This was what I was expiriencing. (My touch-screen still worked fine at the time, but I still couldn't do anything or control the mouse, but I could tell that it was still working and it still responded.) After a bit of time and a few restarts later, it went back to normal, but my touch-screen then stopped working. I'm used to the touch-screen working incorrectly occasionally, and much like the mouse thing, a restart or two helps. It has now been three days and my touchs-creen still does not work. I've tried many of the solutions found in these forums, but to no avail. I am running Windows 10 and have had this computer for 2+ years.  Thanks.

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. The laptop has vertical lines of dead pixels running across the screen and I want to get the LCD replaced. Now the non touch screen model of this laptop has a Full HD variant (1920x1080) as opposed to the standard 1366x768 WXGA HD display while the touch models only come with the WXGA HD LCDs. Can I replace the LCD of my touch screen model with the FHD one? I have been able to detach the digitiser from the LCD itself and have the hinges and screws so I would assume it would be a simple case of changing one LCD with the other. The replacement touch screen models all come with the digitizer and hinges attached which is not something I require so it would be easier (and cheaper!) if I only got the LCD replaced. Lastly, if this is possible, do I need to purchase any additional cables? If so, which one? Thanks in advance.

A:Replacing Dell 15R 5537 Touch screen LCD with FHD non touch LCD

You're going to need at least the FHD wiring harness:
www.parts-people.com/index.php
the screen
www.parts-people.com/index.php
and the bezel
www.ebay.com/.../302211389965
You may or may not be able to re-use the back cover/hinge assembly - usually these are different between non-touch and touch versions.

Hi Magnutus, welcome to the forums.

Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.

If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.

I hope this links helps you.

The touchscreen stopped working suddenly on my Envy TouchSmart Sleekbook 4-1115dx. At first i though it was like a normal failure and that will get fixed by turning the pc off or restarting so I did not pay attention to it until now that I had restart my pc multiple times. Currently running win10. I started to believe it was because of an update a few days ago since it was when the problem started but all drivers and everything is up to date. I have checked for the HID-compliant Touch Screen driver and had to  show hidden divices in order to find it. I cannot enable it and when i check in the properties the following message displays: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. The trackpad (from how it seems) causes Windows to switch to touch mode on the W541. What triggers touch mode?- Using the trackpad;- Unlocking the laptop. So why care if the W541 does not have any touch capabilities anyway?- Apps switch to touch mode which enlarges elements and makes work inefficient;- Websites switch to touch mode which makes certain web elements unusable;- The notifications button is moved off the screen for a while (see attachment);- The famous touch keyboard button shows up in the taskbar. What we have tried so far:- Updating all drivers provided by Lenovo;- Disabling tablet mode from Settings ? Tablet mode;- Disabling the Synaptics Pointing Device from Device Manager;- Disabling Human Interface Devices (even though nothing with ?touch? is listed here) from Device Manager;- Disabling all trackpad features from Synaptics. The way to work from the W541 is to use a mouse without ever touching the trackpad and to never lock the laptop which is ridiculous. Operating system: Windows 10 Enterprise (issue also confirmed on Windows 8)

Hello, My Thinkpad Yoga is connected to a large display through ThenkPad docking station.  Its lid is closed.   During my work, from time to time I see random touch clicks on my screen, and random opening of menus.  It is clear that the touch screen is active although the lid is closed.  When I open the lid, and still connected just to the 2nd display (large screen) display the phenomena stops.  Worth noting is that although only the 2nd display shows an image, the laptop touch screen is still sensetive to touch.  This is I guess why the random touches show up on the screen -- it feels the keyboard not fingers. I expect the touch screen to be disabled while the lid is closed or when projecting only to the 2nd screen.  The solution of opening the lid while connected to the docking station is not acceptable.  Lenovo's local support suggestion to disable touch for the Yoga is also not acceptable -- people purchase Yoga to get Touch.   A solution please! Yaron

Hello @JeffJadoo, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! The Forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community! I understand that you are having an issue with the Touch Screen, and wanted to assist you! Did the notebook originally ship with Windows 10?  How did you go about formatting the notebook, and installing Windows 7?  You may be able to use the Recovery Manager to restore the drivers, however, based on how you installed Windows, the Recovery Partition may already be removed.  You can also try reviewing the following document, to see if the information helps: HP Notebook PCs - Touch Screen Issues (Windows 8) Please post back with the results.  It is possible that the Touch Screen may not be supported for Windows 7 on that particular notebook. Please let me know if this information helps you resolve the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution", this will help others easily find the information they may be looking for.  Also, clicking the Thumbs up below is a great way to say thanks! Have a great day!

Hi everyone,  I am currently using a Lenovo T450s with the default screen option when checking out. I would like to upgrade to a touch screen. I would like to ask if:- the upgrade from non-touch to touch screen is possible?-where could I buy the touch screen for the laptop? would this one work? https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-T450S-Touch-Screen-04X5911/dp/B01H0NKM5W/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=147986... - where could i the basic guide to do it by myself? The most important question that I think is the first one: whether it is possible to upgrade from a non-touch to touch screen on T450s. I look forward to hearing all the suggestions.Thank you.
