De-Activate Software with XP - OFFICE2003

Q: De-Activate Software with XP - OFFICE2003

I am about to retire a computer due to defects - but it has some LEGIT retail MS Software installed (Office 2003 STE & Access2003 and perhaps 1-2 others) -

If I uninstall the software, will it UNACTIVATE its licences to allow a re-install on the replacement system?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Other random alerts come up as well: " Antivirus software alert / Infiltration Alert virus attack / your computer is being attacked by an internet virus. I have an HP Media Center with Windows XP Professional installed. I recently had a problem and had to restore my computer. I had previously backed up my computer's hard drive to a removable drive. After restoring my computer, a lot of my restored applications did not function properly.

The problem I am requesting help for is for a program that loads, but whenever I try to run it I get an error report. The program is for the Dacal CD Library DC-101 CD storage carousel.

The error details Are:

Error signature is:
AppName: cdlib.exe.AppVer.0.0.0.0 ModName: keernel32.dll

I have installed and uninstalled the software from the original CD several times all with the same result. My computer is for a single user (myself) and I have Administrator authority.

The software worked fine when initially installed, before I restored my computer. I even tried to restore from my backup with the same results. The installed hardware (the carousel) works manually, but I would really like to create and update an index on my computer.

there is a way to activate wireless by the software or key combination in a regular keyboard?

A:Activate wireless by the software

Check the driver software that is loaded for your wireless card. Most of them have an enable/disable option.

Check on eBay for a new keyboard. I've gotten replacement laptop keyboards for $10, and they are usually very simple to replace.

Hello!
I recently uninstalled "MSoffice2003" from my computer because the trial period(60 Days)
had expired(sometime ago). I used the "add/remove" in control panel to unistall the program. Everything appeared to have gone as it should have,no problems. I checked my computer for any and all "remnanet of msoffice2003" there was none. The problem I have now is the following: windows installer keeps trying to install msoffice2003. Windows installer starts and says "windows installer installing msoffice2003 please wait until windows configures ms office2003"and it never finish it just keeps repeating the same function over and over. I can not find any source of msoffice2003 on my computer.I checked registery for errors and I downloaded Windows" Install clean up tool" from Micosoft and followed all of the instructions.but since there was no msoffice 2003 to be found on the list, the tool did not serve a purpose. Again my problem is Windows Installer keeps trying to install "MSOffice2003" How do I resolve this problem. Thank You

A:Application cannot be executed Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

These are the instructions I found googling my problem:

1. Type services.msc, and then press Enter.
2. In the list of services locate Software Licensing
3. Right-click it, select Properties
4. Change ?Startup type:? to Automatic, then click OK
5. You may then need to select Software Licensing again then click ?Restart the service?
(from Windows Activation Error, Error Code 0x80070426? - Microsoft Community)

My problem is I can't start the Software Protection. A few minutes later, it just turns itself off. So without starting it, I can't even change the Startup type.

A:Error 0x80070426. Also can't activate Software Protection!

Update!

I found a way to change start-up type by editing regedit.

Here's how:
ctrl + r
regedit
enter
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sppsvc
Double click 'Start' key to change value
Do the same for 'DelayedAutoStart'

Change accordingly:
Automatic (Delayed Start)
DelayedAutostart = 1

Start = 2

Automatic
DelayedAutostart = 0

Start = 2

Manual
DelayedAutostart = 0

Start = 3

Disabled
DelayedAutostart = 0

Start = 4

Now, my problem is that the service turns itself off automatically, after a few minutes. Someone please chip in.

Good morning.

For some reason my system has gone haywire. I am having the IE browswer opening up on random porn sites. I keep getting security alerts from something that keeps telling me files are infected and that I need to install some kind of antivirus software. The software keeps indicating the software needs to be activated. The software will not close at all it stays in the system tray. I can not get this alert to shut down. I keep getting a message that a trojan is attacking my system asking if I want to block it. I have had files listed as infected such as wuauclt.exe. I keep getting security center opening up indicating the firewall and anti virus is activated.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I tried running nortons but nothing is happening.

Thank you

So basically today I went on some random website (meebo.com) that I regularly use to chat. A few moments after that, some virus scanner comes up and begins to scan my computer. I quickly close it because I know it's probably some Spyware... but I think it was too late. I first installed OfficeXP on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Everything works fine until I close Office. In other words, I can open, edit, and close files, but after closing, when I exit, Office often crashes. I think it is trying to write some config or template files when closing and hitting permission problems. I then uninstalled OfficeXP, bought Office2003, and installed Office2003. It has the same problem. I see crashing in both Excel and Word. I set Word's customization so that it would always show full menus. When I closed Word, it crashed. The next time I opened Word, I had short menus, suggesting that the customization file wasn't successfully saved. So either it is crashing before saving the customization or crashing because it can't save the customization. If I try to exit with a document or spreadsheet open, it will sometimes crash and corrupt the file. I tried changing Office compatibility mode on and off. No help. Can you advise me on how to fix this? Thank you for your help.

I just spent the last three hours on the phone. I was transferred 5 times and no one could help me. I want to rage beyond words right now.

So here is the problem...

I have a legitimate copy of Windows 7 ultimate. (that I bought in 2010 from my college.)

When windows 10 came out I made a mistake and did a CLEAN install not knowing the idiotic rule of not being able to validate the old windows 7 key. (validation only works if I did a windows 7 to 10 upgrade FOR SOME STUPID REASON.)

Now I am stuck in windows 10. My windows 7 key will not validate to re download windows 7 in order to UPGRADE to windows 10.

I have the disc of windows 7 but I do not have a CD rom. (so I will need to do a USB install)

When I call Microsoft they check my key (to ensure it is valid) they say everything is fine with it, but like I said I cannot use it.

I have not given this key to ANYONE. I also did not deactivate it before the windows 10 clean install.

When I attempt to download the windows 7 download and enter my key I get this response...

"Error
The product key you entered appears to be for software licensed through an Enterprise Agreement. Please contact the Volume Licensing Service Center for software recovery options or visit the Volume Licensing Home Page for more information on Enterprise
Agreements"

Someone please for the love of god help me. Every person I have talked to on the phone or on a forum for Microsoft has been the opposite of helpful. The... Read more

I have a Windows 2012 R2 server running as my KMS host. This server has been in production for over 18 months. It services both Windows 7 Pro, Ent, Win8.1, Office 2010 Pro Plus and Office 2013 Pro. I set this KMS up via the VLS on 2012 and manage it via
VMAT 3.0 version 6.2.9200.0. After I replaced my 2012 server kms host key with the newer one that would activate Windows 10, did an offline via telephone activation. My issue is that now I can activate all my servers (2012 r2) but cannot activate any Windows
7 Pro/Ent workstations. My main error is "The software licensing service reported that the product could not be activated. No key management service (KMS) could be contacted. With that being said, I've checked to ensure that the KMS service is running
and that port 1688 is open. This was accomplished using PortQryUI. I also have verified that the KMS host is properly registered in DNS. Within the KMS event logs, I have Evt ID#12290 and in the Volume Activation Management Tool logs I have VMAT Runtime Evt
ID#1000 with error 0xC004F074. On any given WS (Win7) the Application event log shows Evt ID#12288 with 0XC0000022, 0x00000000 as it starter, with no #12289 entries. I've read where I should remove the newly installed host key, reboot, reinstall, activate
and then reboot. The strange thing is that when I run "slmgr.vbs /dlv all" I can see the newly installed host key as verified by the last 5 digits and it shows active and licensed. If I run "... Read more

Hello,
I am trying to activate my windows as I am getting the genuine error.
I did was right click on computer --> properties

There is typically a place to enter a new product key but i dont see it. please see attachment

A:Cannot Activate no option to activate

Hi, welcome to the forums

If you type activate in to the start search box then click 'Activate Windows' this should take you the Windows activation screen.

My concern is that the 'Not Genuine' notification normlly occurs on pirated copies of Windows 7 with altered activation technology files. Is your copy legal?

According to my PC Settings the system is activated and I've found the current product key and tried re entering it but it's not being accepted. Can someone please explain what I have to do to put things right. Thanks

Hi I recently purchased Windows 8 (12/12/2012), I d/l'ed it and made an ISO and DVD, I installed it onto an SSD and kept my HDD as a back up and storage device.
Today my second SSD arrived and I installed it as a RAID 0 with my other SSD, all went well until I started having windows update failures, one after the other they all seemed to be corrupted or something, I was installing the large files individually and the smaller ones in batches of 3-5, then my drives were not recognised, I had "missing OS" errors and "locked drives" and "partition missing" errors.
Windows Update completely ruined my drives, I spent 12+ hours trying to get them sorted which I eventually did.
After I installed my OS I saw a logo in the bottom right hand corner of my desktop "Windows 8 Pro Build 9200" this wasn't there the first time I installed windows 8, then I got a message from the action centre asking me to validate my OS, although I had entered the product key during the installation. It failed, it said my copy of windows was only for "upgrade" and not for a "clean" install.
What can I do?

A:8 Won't Activate

Hello EightX,

It sounds like you did a clean install with your upgrade copy of Windows 8, and just missed doing step 4 in the tutorial below for to be activated.

Help!
How do I activate AGP again? This is part of a report from Everest Ultimate, BEFORE formating my HDD and reinstalling Windows XP SP2:

AGP Controller:
AGP Version 3.00
AGP Status Enabled
AGP Device MSI MX440-8X (MS-8935)
AGP Aperture Size 128 MB
Supported AGP Speeds 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x
Current AGP Speed 8x
Fast-Write Supported, Enabled
Side Band Addressing Supported, Enabled

This is the same information AFTER the instalation:

AGP Controller:
AGP Version 3.00
AGP Status Desactivado
AGP Device MSI MX440-8X (MS-8935)
AGP Aperture Size 128 MB
Supported AGP Speeds 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x
Fast-Write Supported, Disabled
Side Band Addressing Supported, Disabled

Ive tried all options in my BIOS, and Ive activatet everything that seems to have anything to do with AGP, but still it seems to be disabled.
How can I activate AGP again?
(And how much may this affect on my system?)

A:How do I activate AGP again?

Look in the bios to see that agp is set as the primary display adapter and also that agp is enabled.Also install your motherboards
newest drivers.

Also check in the device manager and see under "System devices" There should be a fairly long list, look for an "AGP bus" I've run in to situations where, the AGP graphics card worked fine, but the AGP bus wasn't detected, and all types of software did not detect the AGP bus, but it was obviously there. If this is the case, try flashing the BIOS. Also, if it is there, check to see if there are any resource conflicts.

Our company has volume licensing.
I've downloaded and installed Win 7 Ent.

Is there any other way I can activate?
Since I think we don't have KMS yet.

When I try to activate it informs a KMS could not be contacted.

A:No KMS (yet), How else to Activate?

Your business would have to have a multiple activation key (MAK). You can use that to activate business copies of Windows.

I have an HP 15 laptop running 8.1 64 bit. I am not sure when it happened, but suddenly I am being asked to activate windows. There is a watermark in the lower right of the screen showing "Windows 8.1 Build 9600".

Again, not sure when this happened. Originally, I was trying to diagnose a black screen. I had it hooked up to an external monitor and tried running updates on all sorts of drivers, including BIOS (all directly from HP). I also tried running all Win updates, but they continued to fail. Ultimately, I realized that the screen was going to need replacement. That's when I started getting the "activate windows" message. I replaced the screen, but have been battling this activation issue ever since.

I contacted HP chat support. They had me run a full system restore.  No luck. I tried to reenter the CD Key using slui.exe 4 no luck. I tried to get the phone activation option by using slui.exe 3. I was able to choose my country, but then it just spins. Never gets to an installation id nor does it give me a phone number to call.

I have checked the hdd for errors.

I don't know what else to try. Can anyone offer advice?

A:Win 8 will not activate

Right click on Computer and select Properties.  See if you computer is listed as activated.

Hi.
I had a copy of windows 8 on one of my pc's. I bought it some time ago digitally when there was an offer to get it as an upgrade for a lower price (i think it was 40$).
Anyway, the pc is died on me and i bought a new hard drive, now, i tried to download the Win 8 assistant in hopes it will ask me for the key (i already did it once) but now it does not offer an activation, only bring me to the checkout.
Right now im using Win 7.
Is there anyway i can re-activate Win 8? i have the key.

Thank you

A:Re-activate Win 8

If you have successfully installed Win 7 on that new hard drive, you can download the Windows 8 upgrade ISO and use your key to reactivate it. Please follow Brink's excellent tutorial here:

Good luck.
