Can't find any drivers compatible for my laptop.

Q: Can't find any drivers compatible for my laptop.

I'm trying to play minecraft and other games but they don't load or display correctly.

Computer: Sony Vaio VGN-CR31Z

All the drivers I download aren't compatible.

Before Win 8 everything worked fine with Intel Centrino.
But Windows Basic Display Adapter is horrible and the only compatible.
Does anyone have any drivers that would work? Everything I've downloaded is not compatible.
Even the Sony Europe website doesn't have the correct drivers, it just makes my resolution weird.
Also my PC needs a driver with OpenGL.. for MC.

Thanks :'D

Preferred Solution: Can't find any drivers compatible for my laptop.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Can't find any drivers compatible for my laptop.

According to my quick Google search, your laptop has the ATi Radeon X2300 graphics card. There are some threads in this forum section about legacy drivers that MIGHT work with this card. You should check them out.

I have a Compaq Presario 1200XL106 laptop with the slimline type 5 GB hard drive (Compaq part #169609-001). I want to replace the hard drive. From ads on ebay I found that at least one of the IBM Travelstar drives (IBM model DARA206000, also 5GB) will work. I'd like to move up to a larger drive. So,

1. Is there a place I can find a cross-reference list that will tell me what drives will be compatible with my computer?

2. What determines whether a drive -- say a Hitachi XXX-XXX -- will be compatible? (I realize size is one factor - it has to be the 9.5mm x 2.5in like mine is; and, of course voltage) But what else must I look at?

The harddrive on my other laptop just died (it's an HP Pavilion ZE4300). This was the first time a harddrive gave up on me, so I was quite shocked by the whole process... never thought it'd happen to me. Fortunately, I periodically back up all my data to an external drive.

Now, because the laptop is otherwise perfectly fine, I just want to replace the drive. I pulled the current one out, and it's a Toshiba harddrive with the number MK4021GAS, .

I googled this info, and I got links to new and used harddrives for sale with the same config (40gb, ATA).

However, I thought I'd shop around and look for something cheaper, and possibly with more capacity. Any thoughts on how I can search for compatible harddrives? E.g., how can I figure out if a certain Maxtor harddrive would work on this laptop.

Also, if you have suggestions on where to buy a replacement HD for a laptop, do list them.

Thanks in advance for your help.

My best advice would be to contact HP.
If you go over what was installed there might be a bios limitation for large drive support.

Does HP's/Compaq's website have downloads for Windows 7 or have you tried vista drivers?

Try 7 drivers before vista's

Hi all,

I have just purchased a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ140E from a friend which had vista on it. I was initially just going to do a system wipe for him and give it back from him to sell, then he told me he was only looking to get a hundered out of it >> MINE.

This laptop will replace my netbook with the annoyingly slow hyperthreaded 1.6. Only problem is they don't supply Windows 7 drivers, only Vista.. and only 32-bit. I have attached a full specification sheet from Piriform's Speccy, and a device manager screenshot with what I don't think Windows 7 will pick up automatically expanded.

A:Help finding compatible drivers for laptop with only vista supplied

If you still have Vista on it, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

The Win7 installer is mostly driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Enable hardware driver auto-updating to assure this: Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware

Any drivers then missing in Device manager can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for computer model - Vista drivers will work ok - or for the Device itself.

You qualify for Upgrade version with Vista OEM, but I'd wipe the HD to get the cleanest possible install: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

If you install to wiped HD, the installer will issue a 100mb System Reserved boot partition which conveniently places the Repair Console (normally only on the DVD or Repair CD) on the F8 Advanced Boot Tools menu. So I would choose Custom Install and then Drive Options to partition as you wish and format: Clean Install Windows 7

Leave the Product key blank during install if you wipe the HD, then afterwards do the quick registry workaround given in this tutorial to allow activation with upgrade version key: Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

Install updates and then programs slowly over time to gauge performance after each. Don't let any programs write themselves into msconfig>Startup as they slow startup, become freeloaders on your RAM/CPU and can spy on you. I only allow AV and gadgets. Startup Programs - Change

Use a lightweight free AV like MS ... Read more

After updating my wife's old Dell E4300 with the new Windows 10 creators update, two drivers are shown as missing in the Device Manager. There are:
Device description: Base System DeviceDevice instance path: PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_024D1028&REV_12\4&13C294F3&0&0AF0
Device description: Broadcom USHDevice instance path: USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_00\6&66DE6C9&0&0000
No search for the drivers gave any result. The laptop is working though. With the above information I am unable to find matching drivers, even via the Dell support site (using the Service Tag: BNXXB4J). There is no clear way of mapping the reported missing drivers with anything on the Dell support site, or at least I was unable to do so.
Where do I find the correct drivers?

A:can not find drivers for my new laptop

Hi: Your notebook is not supported for 32 bit operating systems. Your only hope would be to see if the W7 32 bit drivers and software from the HP Probook 450 G3 works on your model. Do not use the BIOS or firmware files. https://support.hp.com/hk-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-probook-450-g3-notebook-pc/7834555 I believe your model uses the Broadcom b/g/n wireless LAN driver, and the Broadcom bluetooth driver. It also uses the Realtek Ethernet Controller driver for the ethernet.

A:Can anyone find me drivers for my laptop?

If you have a list of your hardware (for future reference, it's a good idea to make a list of your hardware & check the manufacturers' site for drivers 1st before upgrading) you may be able get working drivers for similar models which are still on the toshiba site, as a lot of the components are interchangeable between models. Failing that, I'm pretty good at finding drivers by hardware ID from dev manager.

Hello y'all,

Well, the issue I'm having is that i reformatted my laptop to do a fresh install of XP, before i did this i backed up my drivers on an external hard drive, which crashed shortly after i completed the fresh install of xp... so i have been trying to reinstall all my drivers, and have successfully (or at least i believe it was successfully...) installed most of my drivers except two.

the fist one is a PCI Modem with ven 1002, dev 4378, which after doing some research is an ATI SB400 AC97 Modem Controller.

The second is the Video Controller Ven 1002 dev 5955, which is ATI mobility radeon xpress 200.

I have found drivers for these from HP by using the PCIDatabase.com website, but once i try to install them they tell me
"INF error video driver not found." and "setup was unable to complete the installation try to setup your display adapter with standard VGA driver before running setup." when i try to install both of these.

Also, for some reason my laptop doesn't have sound either, even though the device manager doesn't show that my audio driver is not functioning (this is why i say i believe i installed them correctly...)

can someone please help me fix my laptop.
oh yeah i forgot to mention my laptop is a compaq presario v2000. any other information that is needed please ask.

I've been passed an old laptop to get running, and I've formatted it and it's working fine, but there is no sound. The laptop is a Hi-Grade 8615 GTK. I've never even heard of "Hi-Grade" before, is it a badge for a better known brand or manufacturer? The OS is Windows XP, SP2 (I didn't want to put VIsta/7/8 in it as the laptop has only 1GB of RAM), and according to Everest the PCI/PnP Audio is
"Realtek ALC260 @ VIA VT8237A High Definition Audio Controller PCI"
It's really the sound driver I'm after, as everything else seems OK with the default XP installation, but if possible I'd like to find all of the drivers.
Thanks for any help.

Trying to install LOGITECH mini BT receiver for MX 5000 keyboard but Windows 7 cannot find drivers. I spent all day yesterday installing & uninstalling different versions of setpoint, installing/uninstalling drivers. THe only way I can get it to leave "other devices" in device manager is to manually install random logitech drivers that are already in windows but it says it cannot start with an error 10.

Decided to try the reciever in my laptop and it read and installed perfectly as shown by the last picture. No CD no nothing.

Any ideas of how I could get this thing going on the desktop again? I am at the point where I'm about to bulldoze through the registry and delete anything that says logitech but figured I'd check here for other ideas first.

If I use DevManView and open the registry location it goes directly to the location that shown in the registry screen shot (but of course/obviously there are way more logitech items in there than that. Thats just where it goes when I say open registry location.

The model # of this reveiver is C-UV35.

Hello Chris

Go to Device Manager to identify the sound system and then search online for drivers

Right click My Computer/Properties/Hardware/Device Manager.
Click the + at sound
If it is Realtek go to the Realtek website and look for XP drivers.

You can do the same for all the drivers.
Be sure to create a System Restore point before installing a driver
Only install one driver at a time and make sure it is working properly before installing another one.

Hello all,
I am trying to help a friend remotely who is having problems with her Samsung NP-QX410-S02US laptop. Everything works fine except certain games which refuse to run. The stats say it should be able to handle these without a problem so i suspect it is a corrupt driver (or buggy) one. It is running vista but when I check the downloads page ( http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/NP-QX410-S02US ) it only offers XP or Win 7 and the windows 7 versions don't run. Usually such drivers are vista/7 but apparently these are not.

Any ideas? I thought of having her try the XP drivers but of course don't want to cause her greater issues so I thought I would ask here and see if anyone else has ran into this.

Dratted new laptop  (Lenovo G505) came with Win 8.  I had a Win7 install CD and license key, so I figured why not?
The rest is a bit of a nightmare... Windows installed perfectly, but was missing drivers for some of the USB ports, networking and WiFi.  Found those on the Lenovo site, but even after hunting everywhere, could not find a couple of drivers so things are infuriatingly wonky (as opposed to lovably wonky!).
The mouse (touchpad) is doing an annoying hover-to-click thing I cannot seem to turn off, but most significantly, the hotkeys are only barely working and I cannot seem to adjust the monitor brightness no matter what I do.  I've got it so the volume (F1-F3) and all function keys are working, but the brightness-up key does NOTHING, while the brightness-down key shows a blank "fuel gauge" indicating that there is NO brightness, while in reality, it's turned up all the way and barely watchable.  :-(
Any suggestions for either or all of these woes???
I think it's disgusting how the Microsoft/Lenovo monopolists are still working hand-in-hand to make a system that is dysfunctional without Windows 8.  :-(

Topic title says it all- I currently have Vista Ultimate 32bit on my Inspiron 1720 laptop and I want to try out 64bit, to see if it runs and utilizes the 4gb of memory I have better- Vista 32bit seems to chug a bit when I'm doing heavy photoshop work.

There is no option for 64bit drivers on dell's driver site for this laptop, does anyone have any clue where I could get them? Or am I out of luck?

A:Where can i find 64bit drivers for Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop?

I'm hoping you have tried the Dell website and also checked for 64 bit compatability especially with your MB and CPU combos

I had drivers ready before I formatted the computer. I got them off of the dell website and they were all specifically for my computer. However, now that I have xp, the drivers will not work.

Does anyone know where I can get the proper drivers for my computer?

Dell Studio 14z
Intel Core Duo
Windows Vista premium (preloaded) but now has Windows XP sp2

Currently, these are yellow ? marked in the device manager:
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
PCI device
SM Bus Controller
Video Controller (VGA compatible)

Thank you

The Vaio is about 3/4 years old now, and I just did a reinstallation of Windows XP to clean things up a bit. Before the reinstall, I managed to track down this page on the Sony Asia website (http://www.sony-asia.com/support/do...p/sectionfirst?site=hp_en_AP_i&subpage=detail), and downloaded all of the listed drivers onto a memory stick.

Having formatted the disk and installed Windows, I installed the drivers in the order listed on the website. They all worked perfectly, except for the Realtek audio driver.

No sound was played by the computer, and when viewing the sound preferences under the Control Panel, I was informed that there is “No Audio Device”.

I rebooted the laptop, and still nothing happened. Tried uninstalling the driver from Add/Remove Applications, reinstalling it, and nothing happened. So eventually, I figured something must have gone wrong.

I reinstalled Windows XP Professional from scratch, and again repeated the driver installations. They all worked fine, except for the Realtek driver… again.

What options do I have? The audio was working just fine before I reinstalled Windows the first time, so I can safely assume that the card itself is not damaged in any way. The laptop has never been dropped, scuffed, dented, and barely left the house.

I’m sat here staring at the (silent) desktop, so any suggestions are more than welcome. Thank you all very much for your time!

So i just clean installed windows 7 so obviously the drivers need to be install manually., however as i install LAN and networking drivers i download from acer's site., it gives me error and failed to install. The LAn realtek gives me error 39 while wireless driver cant be installed (i have downloaded every wireless drivers from acer's site from windows 10 to windows 8.1 and non of them works. Any help? I pretty like windows 7 over 10 and 8.1. And i'm a noob in terms of hardwares.

A:Are drivers of windows 8.1 laptop compatible with windows 7?

Every Windows version has its own drivers.. I mean win8.1 drivers are different from win7 drivers.

Try Windows update inside Windows 7,
Maybe you are lucky and Os finds the right drivers.

I've got a new computer with 256 MB DDR ram. The computer is Athlon XP 2000. Windows XP Home.

I plan on upgrading ram to 512 mb. I have been given, by someone who knows even less about computers than I do, a RAM (chip?) that apparently has never been used.

A tag stuck on this chip says "PC2100 DDR". There are also some numbers which may be serial #'s or part #'s.

I'm wondering if there's any way, aside from installing, to tell if this chip will get along with my motherboard and my ram.

A:How do I find out if RAM is compatible

Pretty much, it should work.........but sometimes certain chips don't work with certain chips, so installing it is pretty much the only way to find out.

I need a new charger because mine just blew up after 3 years of loyal service (thankfully my laptop wasn't harmed). However, I am unsure what charger to get because when I look at chargers on the HP store's webpage and click on a charger, under the "compatible devices" section, my laptop's model name isn't listed under any of these. My laptop is only 3 years old so I don't understand why I am having so much trouble finding out a compatible adapter for it. The charger I've been using for the past 3 years has the following specifications:120WInput: 100-240V ~ 50-60Hz 2.0AOutput: 19.5V  6.15A I have no idea what those figures mean, so if someone could reccommend a safe and suitable replacement charger while I nurse my electrocuted thumb I'd be very grateful!
