I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi Team, I bought a new lenovo ideapad Y700 laptop last month, for the last two weeks i have been trying to charge my laptop but it just wouldnt go beyond 29%. I did a good amount of homework searching for energy management software and checking for power configurations options in bios. But none have helped. I even tried to do express charge but no luck. I am posting here to seek assistance to solve it on my own. Regards,Manoj.

Hello!I write here with a problem that I have since the day before yesterday. When my Laptop is on and the charger is plugged in, the battery won't charge, giving the notification "plugged in, not charging". Laptop works like the charger wasn't plugged - energy drains from battery.I suppose that is a software problem, because when laptop is turned off or hibernated it charges normally.Formating didn't help at all.Microsoft support told me to recalibrate battery - didn't work.Lenovo support told me to try another charger in service - I will try if nothing else works.Maybe someone had the problem like that and solved it without going to service, which I want to keep as a last resort solution. Thanks in advance!

I don't why Lenovo has Windows 10 Energy Management Drivers available on the download page that don't work. I tried installing and window just shuts down. I read that its because its not compatible with Windows 10. So here is my question. My Y700-15isk is plugged in and when I roll over the battery icon on the taskbar is says "74% and not charging". Is this conervation mode? Why isn't the laptop fully charging? If I am about to go on the road for example, wouldn't it make sense that my battery is able to charge up to 100%? Anyone shed any light on Lenovo's logic?

I just got my Lenovo ideapad Y700 everything was working fine until updating Lenovo settings and windows 10. The battery now only charges to 98% and continues to say charging. Tried to open up Lenovo settings to see if I could change the battery settings to fix the problem. Now the settings won't stay open it just closes 5-30 seconds after I open it. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, still has the problem. Any thoughts?

(Charge up to 55-60% max) After bios update, it isn't charge to 100% when I am in Windows, but when I connect my charger when it is shut down, it will charge up to 100%.I have tried to turn of and turn on again this option in Lenovo Settings but not helped. How can I solve this?

Purchased my Y700 Notebook back in early July 2016.  Very recently, my battery would read 100%, but would shutoff a few minutes after removing AC power and attempting to run the laptop from it's battery power.  I am a user who uses AC power most of the time as my laptop is more of a mobile platform for me since I need to move it around alot. Last night, battery still read at 100%.  I messed around with some power settings past few days to see if I could get get this problem figured out.  Powered it on this morning after shutting it down last night and the battery is now at 0%.  The battery indicator in system tray reads "0% available (plugged in, charging)".  It has been saying this for several hours and it does not appear to be charging (or able to hold a charge).  I am still under warranty.  Before making a service call, I want to check the forums to see if anyone has had this particular problem and been able to solve it.  I realize these newer lithium batteries systems are a bit more complex and I am still learning about them.  Would be appreciative of any assistance. My initial thought is that the battery is simply not able to hold a charge anymore (it only has 34 charge cycles on it) and is defective.  The other possibility is the charging circuit is defective in some way, but I am not thinking this is likely considering that the battery was reading 100% last night.

Pretty much what it says in the title.  I have recently been needing to use my Notebook for extended periods of time, and I had found that, despite the laptop reconizing that the charging cord is in, it fails to charge while in use and only charges when the computer is hibernating or when then laptop shuts down. I've taken a look at the battery settings, including Conservation Mode which seems to cause this type of problem, but I've had little to no luck fixing to problem. I would really appreciate if someone could give me some advice on how to fix the issue, as it is getting in the way of my work having to use it for only an hour, then have it charge for an hour.

if someone else asked that already i am sorry i couldn't find it.i have a Y700-15ISK 80NV and i am just curious about how much ram can i put in it.in almost every site i see 16gb is the max but that doesn't seem right. the cpu supports up to 64 gb so thats not problem.and ddr4 can be found 16gb per stick so on most models that has 2 slots. it means 32gb.which leads me to the strangest thing. by specs of all y700 (and mine) it has only 2 slots of ram.but according to the task manager and cpu z (program) i have 4 slots! which means 64gb of ram!!what is going on??

A:lenovo y700 max ram

Which Y700 is this?

Pretty much it looks like that all Y700 models support Upto 16GB RAM.
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y700-series/y700-15-inch/

The hardware maintenance manual also says about 8GB per slot and there are only 2 slots (Pg 78) -
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_y700-15_17isk_15acz_touch-15isk_hmm_201510....

Anyways, for gaming you dont need more than 8gb of RAM, atleast not yet. I am playing Witcher 3 on Ultra settings with ONLY 8gb of RAM.

Dear All,I have Lenovo Thinkpad T460S purchased almost a year ago. Today I suddenly faced problem in charging battery. Charger is plugged in and battery icon is showing "plugged in, charging" but actually it is charging very slowly. Normally battery is charged in one hour or so but today it took more than one hours to reach only 24% or so. Furthermore, soon after plugging in, battery icon shows "filling in process" for few seconds then stopped i.e no filling in process. Furthermore, after whole night charging, battery is now 94% charged, battery 2: 100% charged, fully charged; battery 1: 0% charged, not charging (please attached images). Please guide how to get rid of this problem?Thanking in advance. Shahid

I asked this question on a solved thread, so I wasn't sure if it would ever get answered. Anyway, I bought a Lenovo Y700(model 80NW000PUS), but the 1TB WD blue slim 5400rpm didn't sound too sexy for me. I'm a power user(gaming, AutoCAD, misc.media) so I ordered a 1TB WD Black 7200rpm(It wasn't slim, but it still fit-maybe that was the problem?) and the machine didn't read it at all (the disk manager, nor the BIOS would pick it up), but worked when I switched back to the WD Blue that came with it. I figured the HDD was DOA, so I called Lenovo just to be sure and they told me that the laptop didn't support HDD beyond 1TB 5400rpm. They suggested if I wanted more performance, I could go with an SSHD so long it was still 5400rpm, which I don't believe is worth the trouble. So, I want to know my options, because I can't imagine why a GAMING laptop would not support 7200rpm. I already have an 128GB SSD in the M.2 slot that I boot from. So, basically should I just suck it up and deal with the HDD that it shipped with, or has someone had success with a 7200rpm HDD. If so, is the performance worth the upgrade? Or is an SSHD at 5400rpm worth it? I'm trying to stay at 1TB, so SSDs are out(expensive! Plus, the laptop doesn't support it). Thanks!

Hello everybody. So I have a Lenovo y700 with 16gb ram, 1tb HDD but I don't have any SSD. I have seen people on Youtube who either upgrade their existing SSD's or just simply install an SSD instead of an HDD. However my questions is, can I install an SSD to my laptop which has no SSD to begin with. Also, if there is a way I can, can you please suggest a good model of SSD? Thank you guys for your attention.

I decided to invest in a new laptop as my other one had fallen on the ground, and lately for the past two month's all I've been having with it was troubles. Ther first problem I had was with the external microphone I used (Blue Yeti) It wouldn't detect or something and eventually made my speakers and microphone stop working all together. With no clue on how to fix it I ended up factory resetting my product. Everything's been fine with this problem, but if you have a fix to it if it arrises again then that'd be helpful.

Just yesterday I had a problem with my laptop where I was using it and the screen suddenly went black, I restarted it and the LENOVO loading screen came up only to have it stuck on the screen with a loading symbol and my curser. I contacted a live agent who told me to factory reset my laptop which brings me onto what happens when I do that below;

I have also had a problem where It would update from windows 8.1 to windows 10 & "Windows Explorer" would continue to crash and refresh every second thus making the laptop un-useable in this state unless I open a program through "Task Manager". Due to this problem I had to factory reset my laptop about five times as I cannot resolve it and it continues to arrise if I set a background to my laptop - I have tried everything, from updating drivers to much more and have yet to find a fix t... Hi everyone! I'm having a few problems which seem serious to me. My laptop (Lenovo Y700 15-ACZ) sometimes restarts randomly without any warning, usually when Youtube, Adobe Reader and Microsoft Word are open, at least that is what I've observed. I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit. I did some tests through the Lenovo Solution Center, all tests came back OK, except the following: -the Memory test gets stuck on the first element, the "Quick random pattern test"-the Graphics test gets stuck on the first one as well, the "Video memory" part The bar wouldn't fill, but I can hear the laptop working and it slowly starts to heat up. Another, miscellaneous problem is an "Unknown device" in the Device Manager, "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)", "on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller". What could be the problem? Could it be a faulty RAM?

Hi, I recently purchased this laptop and it was working fine for the few days. Now, after about 5 minutes into a game, the screen freezes and I am unable to do anything leaving me to turn off the power manually (WoW, CSGO, LoL all share this trait). I have run tests on how hot the computer is getting and it starts off around 60 and raises to 71-75 before staying at that level for about 3 minutes then freezing. I have factory reset this laptop in hopes there was a software option but the problem persists. For a gaming laptop, this seems like a problem that should never exist and I am left to believe that this may be a factory defect and return it. Any thoughts?

I bought my laptop from BH not even 1 month ago and barely used the laptop since I travel a lot. Today in the morning, I was watching a video and laptop just shutdown itself (battery was almost fully charged and unplugged) like you unpluge a TV and the screen disappears. Afterwards, I tried to open it but simply power button does not work. I plugged in the adapter but there is no sign that laptop is working (no lights, no screen, no fans, nothing).I cannot believe I am having such a stupid problem like this. Is there anyone knows what can be the problem and the solution ?  (I already tried to remove the rams and replaced with working rams but nothing changed)Currently I live in Austria and I don't even know if the warranty covers in this country.

A:Lenovo Y700 - No Power

Hi CandyDulfer ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I would help if you specify the type of  Y700 or if you can provide the machine number.
Check on the machine number from the sticker or check it from here ,just keep your serial number confidential.

Any indicator light when you plug in the charger like a battery charging light?
It would help if you can test the charger itself with a voltmeter if you have the tools and skill by following the power checkup guide from your hardware manual downloadable from the support site (change the product type if needed. Known good adapter can also help to isolate the issue.

Since the battery is internal and the issue is with power , it would be best to check technical support if they would be able to assist you for repair as specific models parts may not available in Austria and you may have to contact the location of purchase for in warranty service.

Hi, so I recently got a Lenovo Y700. I haven't had a computer in a while and since I'm going to attend college soon but also enjoy gaming I decided to get this laptop, as it's mobile and seems to be quite powerful.

Initially when I got the laptop, it was having a ton of problems, couldn't connect to the internet, didn't want to install or save certain things, and was a real mess. So I returned it and got a replacement. The replacement has been working much better, but I'm still having some issues with it, mostly with gaming. I've had the new one for about a week or so.

I'm aware games will be crashing more often on a computer than a console, but the frequency just seems unusual to me. I'm having a particularly weird crash when I'm playing skyrim. Instead of completely crashing, the game will minimize every 10 or 15 minutes. I can easily just reopen it, but it seems to become more and more frequent. The most irritating part of this is that after reopening it for the second or third time, the desktop cursor will also appear in game giving me 2 cursors. I looked this up and couldn't really find a solution to it, and it seemed to be exclusive to skyrim, but it's just another nuisance. It seems like the problem may be when an app attempts to launch in the background but I haven't noticed any when this happens for me. Also, just today skyrim has started freezing. Vanilla, my computer opened skyrim on ultra, and was getting pretty good (at least 30 fps? don't have fraps insta... Read more

So I have recently bought a Lenovo y700 with the FX 8800P and R9 M385x on board and all was well to start. Then I had problems just getting the R9 M385X to work, If anyone has a fix for that please let me know. So I begin to snoop around online and started to realise I have probably made a big mistake buying this laptop. Firstly I really enjoy the look and feel this laptop has but when you look deeper you realise all is not well. See I found out that the FX 8800P is capable of running at 35W and on dual channel ddr3 2133 RAM, and the two hardware components can run in crossfire. Now when you realise that lenovo has done the cheap and mass produced a single mother board for both the Carrizo and Carrizo-L chip sets, meaning that the max watt the FX 8800P is getting is 15W instead of the 35W it can use. Combine this with the fact that this board only supports ddr3 1600 RAM and so far no crossfire support and you can understand why I'm sitting her scratching my head wondering what to do with this laptop that was crippled from the start. Lenovo why can't you just let AMD work how it was supposed to? Please explain!!

Hello. Recently I have bought SSD M.2 disk (so far using only HDD). I installed win 7 64bit on it, updated BIOS from v52 to v53 (using .exe from Y700 support page). That's where the problem starts. As soon as the BIOS logo shows up, the fan starts to run quite loud. If I enter BIOS settings, it just keeps going and won't stop, which wasn't happening on previous BIOS version. I even tried installing previous version v35, then go back again to 53. Also restoring default settngs. Nothing worked. If I start system normally, after loading everything and 1-2 minutes of waiting fan goes queit, as it should be. But when I start e.g. browsing internet fan goes loud again. I checked temperatures - cpu, gpu and disks are all below 40 C degree, CPU usage is also low (10-15%), so I can't find a reason fans would be so loud.I also have installed (reinstalled too) Lenovo Energy Management. What I have noticed, is that when fan is running, if I open LEM, and then close it, fan stops for a second the very same moment I close it, and then start running again. Also, changing active/passive cooling CPU doesn't have any effect. To sum up:- fan is running non-stop in BIOS ( I don't think it's normal)- if I don't do anything, fan is quiet, but doing even simple thing like internet browsing makes it run loud. I have read many topics about fan problems but nothing is working for me so far.  Edit:Also, from what I have read, there is no possibility to manually control fan/set temperature t... Hi!I've purchased my Lenovo Y700 a month ago. But ever since, laptop keeps crashing. Usually it was twice a day. But today since 10 AM (2PM here as I am writing) it have crashed 3 times already.I talked to the shop owner where I've bought the laptop. He have 'tested' it for 2 days and said everything is alright. But after i got it back, it still kept crashing. When i say crashing I mean laptop freezes, artifacts appear on the screen and weird noises get out of the speakers.Since i got laptop back from the shop I've started taking pictures of screen when it freezes and taking videos of it. Here is the link to my folder with photos and videos i've taken.link to the folder I have no idea how to reproduce those crashes. They appear as random. Not necessarily while gaming. It often happens when I am just browsing internet, listening to music, programming, watching videos on youtube. After some research i got to the conclusion that my processor might be defective. After turning off my dedicated GPU (gtx 960m) in BIOS, I've tried to turn CS:GO on integrated graphics (intel graphics hd 530) and it crashed like after 3 minutes. Please. I need some help.
