Installed in c:\windows\system32 as lnbitssvc.exe and along with Lenovo Modern.ImController (which at least doesn't indicate (beijing) included on Idea Pad S340 Can't find any info on the lnbitssvc.exe or why it's there and included in (hidden) Task Scheduler. My guess is ln=Lenovo bits=background intelligent transfer service svc=serviceso further guessing it provides a way for Lenovo(beijing) to silently transfer stuff. Me not interested in silently transferring anything to anyone without some explanation of what, why, when, etc. In my opion - every PC owner should getAutoruns (from Microsoft / sysinternals) which provides way to see and control what runs at startup, or on schedule, etcProcessExplorer (same source as above - better utility to see what's going on in real time)And - I like Windows 10 Firewall Control from Sphinx-Software - which provides a usable front-end to Windows Firewall and allows you to really control what apps and services can send data/telemetry/make connections over internet.Make a backup / restore point, and start taking some control over what your pc sends out. I'm disabling LNBITSSvc.exe and Lenovo Modern Im.Controller from network access and running at all - will see if there's any effect other than better performance..... (Also uninstalled all the McAfee scamware/adware disguised as cybersecurity only to find thanks to Autoruns it doesn't uninstall McAfee System Security Check Dashboard service)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Hi all,I bought a S340 this morning and trying to set it up. When I switched it on I got a voice offering to help me set up the ideapad.I selected the Keyboard and then I am trying to connect to the internet on my WiFi.I am asked to complete the Network Security Key. But when I try and input on the keyboard nothing appears on the screen.Tried a couple of times and thendecided to skip the network setup and move ahead.The next screen I get says: "Who's going to use ths PC"When I try and input my name nothing apears on the screen. Have a I inadvertantly pressed some key that has disabled the keyboard??Is there some way to fix this issue?Your help and advice would be apreciated.ThanksMukund

Hi Lenovo, I bought Lenovo S340-15IWL Model: 81N8001LUS (15.6") processor intel i5-8265U 1.6G. This has 8GB (4GB soldered+ 4GB installed RAM) and 256GB SSD installed. I am planning to increase the storage but I couldn't find any info for this model in specific. Lenovo support could you please let me know how many slots are avaiable for Hardisk? If yes, what kind HDD or SDD? max out capacity for storage? I guess RAM has 1 partition tht has 4GB(Can i swap this to 8GB) installed since 4GB is soldered and make it to 12GB? Thanks

Hello all y'all.... that is the plural of y'all in case you were interested : ).... I'm a Texan !! Could somebody please tell me the M.2 Interface speed of the Lenovo Ideapad S340-15IWL ? The Toshiba hard drive that was installed was a PCIE 3 x2, and I only have another x2 here at the house so I have no way of knowing if it will support x4. Dang... specs everywhere on this gem but no info on the interface speed... looked EVERYWHERE ! Don't want to waste money on a Samsung 970 Pro if if doesn't support the x4 interface. Thanks in advance Bob

The sound with both speakers/ headphones on my laptop is constantly making "popping" sounds, and sometimes it even stutters - very aggressively and without putting any load on the laptop - even with a simple mp3 playback.I've tried EVERYTHING - Realtek / Lenovo / Windows drivers, uninstalled Windows, wasted so much precious time on it.This is the second damaged unit I get from lenovo in a month's time. I hope they can provide a quick solution for this problem, or else I'm returning this laptop and never buying / recommending Lenovo ever again.

Hello everyone. I just had to come to the forums and post this text that I wrote to the survey Lenovo sent me after my initial service case: I sent my brand new Yoga C930 to be checked because of light bleed both bottoms corners of the screen. They received the laptop on January 2nd and on January 7th I asked what the situation was, they told me it was being prosessed. On January 14 I again sent a message to customer service asking for an update since I didn't get any updates unless I asked (which is really bad service). They replied that according to the service center there wasn't enough light bleed. They then sent the laptop back. So for a week the laptop was just laying somewhere at the service center and only after I asked about it did they send it back. When I got it back I noticed the service person had scratched the laptops hard metal hinge. So now I had light bleed and  a scratched laptop. He hadn't even used the protective sleeve I had put the laptop in (sleeve came with the laptop). Instead he had forcefully jammed the sleeve in the box and put the laptop in a random plastic bag... At that point the laptop had been gone for a month and now the only way to get a replacement metal hinge is to send it back to Germany AGAIN. I have no idea how long it will take this time, or even if it will be returned in any good condition. I can say I have lost all my trust in the Lenovo service center and I am disappointed that Lenovo does not have any service in... Read more

I have a lenovo yoga 710 that has a screen flickering problem (just like everyone else on the forums with a yoga 710 because you seem really good at making faulty products) which i sent in for repair in october, it started in april but i never bothered to send it in until the flickering would turn from just flickering to the screen being completely black.I got the laptop back with the screen not replaced or anything (and with the spacebar not working) but the flickering stopped and that was okay by me. just a week afterwards the flickering starts again but i was due for a trip to egypt and had no time to bother with your customer support specially because i needed my laptop and wasn't going to wait 3 weeks without it again.after i was back from the trip a couple of weeks latter i called in to arrange another fix and complain that my screen is flickering again and i'm told that it's been too long since my first repair and that it's out of warranty so there's nothing they can do, so i chose to live with it..it's been a couple of months since then where i hardly use my laptop because of the fact that it hurts my eyes whenever i do, then a couple of weeks ago my screen completely stops working again, with ocassional flickering and a second of working properly. Lenovo, you really let down a loyal Thinkpad customer with 10+ Notebooks since 2005. My T460s with 3 Year On-Site warran has a problem and switches off abruptly when battery 2 elapses instead of switching to battery 1.  I call my local Lenovo Service Partner, they arrange to come and fix the issue. Visit #1: You change the motherboard, it does not fix the problem but creates a new problem: no sound Visit #2: You install a myriad drivers on my system, still no sound, still switches off abruptly  Visit #3: You change motherboard again, fixes sound issue, creates a new issue: screen flickering, the initial issue of power off on switch from battery 2 -> 1 is still not fixed. So I started with a T460s power issue and I have lost 3 business days, my work is being destroyed and what I have now is a T460s with a power issue and a flickering screen. I cannot work and you do not help, you have just destroyed a loyal (circa 2005) customer. What will you do now? Your service partner offered to come and change another motherboard, do you think I have nothing better to do than surrender my life's work in form of my laptop to you to try to install a myriad different motherboards on?

Hi , I have Lenovo Z 580 Ideapad.3 months back its fan stopped working. So i visited an authorized service centre located at Gurugram. http://business.google.com/website/devmohini/Since my laptop is out of warranty , they told me that the fan need to be replaced and charges will be applied. They said that they will order the part and let me know when my laptop will be ready . Few days back, they called me and asked me to pickup my laptop.I went there and checked my laptop , its fan was working . I paid the full amount. They gave me the receipt But they didn't provide me the Fan's warranty card or anywhere the warranty was mentioned in the receipt. They didn't even told me when the warranty of the Fan they replaced , was gonna expire.But now after 2 & half months , the Fan stopped working again . I went again and showed them my laptop. Now they are saying that the Fan panel need to be changed again & since the Fan's warranty is expired , I have to pay the full charges again. I am so angry and irritated at them right now . I have serious doubt that they lied to me and cheated on me. They just resolved some minor issue but charged me the full amount of Fan in the first place . & now they are doing the same thing again. They are such conman. I am so disappointed with Lenovo service. I have been wondering why there are two methods to get updates for my X1 Extreme.One update method is via the Lenovo Vantage application (under Windows 10 Programs)The other method is to go to the Lenovo Support page (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-...); I used the full URL with model number, but you can also use the main support page and use 'Dectect Product' which uses Lenovo Service Bridge to detect the laptop model and serial #. I have used both, but am probably going to stick with Lenovo Vantage. Which method are most of you using? PSell is similar in this regard. They also have multiple update apps / methods for some reason.

Firstly apologies for the length of this one, I've been on it for a while and wanted to share what I could in the hope it might trigger some ideas.


I'm currently receiving an influx support tickets for Windows 7 (x64) devices that are getting the "Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service" error when logging on for the first time.

It's predominantly laptops and mainly older Lenovo X230's but there are far more X230 machines without the problem than with it at this time so I'm struggling to tie it down to a specific build, update, application etc. Instances of the issue starting range
from 6 months ago to last week and I have around 200 devices affected (but this is rising).


The issue happens like this for some of the users:

    # User boots machine up from being switched off
    # Machine boots and gets to logon screen
    # User is unable to logon using their fingerprint reader, the green light isn't lit
    # They try to logon using username / password, this fails
    # "Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service" error appears (blue, full screen like the "please wait..." when booting)
    # They are then able to try again and the logon is successful
    # Error doesn't occur again until they reboot

I sent my laptop Y460p for repair at Lenovo IdeaPad series Service Centre at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre on the 9th of April. It's been 2 weeks and I have not received calls from them so I called them today and asks them about my laptop. The person who answered the call asks me to wait for him to call back as he will need to go and check.  When he called back, I was disappointed. The person told me that my laptop had just been processed today and ask me to give them 3 to 5 more working days. I am a student. School had already started for me and I really need my laptop. If i had knew that it would take such a long time for them to repair my laptop, I would not have sent it for repair. And I was told that my laptop would take 5-8 working days(usually only 3-5 working days) because they had to extend my warranty. It's already way past 8 working days! It's the 12th working day from the day i sent my laptop for repair and you are telling me you were doing nothing to my laptop? and It's not the first time i had such bad experience with Lenovo. My laptop had problems with the keyboard. So last year, I went to the service centre at bukit timah shopping centre and tried to have my laptop repaired. The person attending to me suggest that my laptop would need a change of just the keyboard itself. So, I had my keyboard changed. However, after a week, the keyboard failed again. I need a service manual for a 14-af110nr notebook.  The website points to a manual for a different model that is structrally different, so I cannot determine how to install any upgrades.

 I too am puzzleded by the Manual posted. However it does state inside the manual that it is for HP Notebook(AMD) and HP 245 G4. I recently saw another listed on a models page that was for HP Notebook(Intel) and HP 256 G4. I asked internally for a confirmation on whether it was correct or not but am still waiting for an answer. I just asked about the Manual on your support page also. I assume you are sure the Manual depicts a structurally different model?I did notice that hdd and some other components are listed as not being user upgradedable and should be done by a service tech which is common for several newer models.

Hi..cannot get this service bay open to install memory, i follow procedure, remove battery, two screws which loosen then spin sideways at a 45 degree angle, do not come out, panel is fixed in there and wondering if i have a defect..very happy with laptop otherwise and hate to lose it for weeks for service over 4gb ram...i have experience building computers piece by piece so not a novice...very strange...any ideas?

I tried the lenovo solution center fan dust removal thing but it did not help. Can someone help me open my laptop and clean the fan? Send me like a manual or something? I heard that the maintaince manual tells you how to open your laptop but when I found the user guide it only showed how to remove hard drive etc. It never showed how to clean the fan. If anyone finds one please send me a link I really need help.

Finding one with a same specs (and same price) as from other vendor is similar to trying to find a needle under the seabed. Please note, you can't find all HP models/products on all markets. My battery goes to low and the computer shutsdown while I had an excel and msword document open with work in process but not saved and at the same time a couple of browser windows open.
WHAT USE TO BE:
When above situation occurred, I simply plugged in my power supply, pressed the power button and when the computer rebooted I would see a resume windows session, at which time I would click enter. This is all I did. The computer would then bypass my login password screen and everything would resume exactly as it was with all windows open, and nothing lost and just as it was before it shutdown due to low power.
SOMETHING CHANGED:
When I now press the power button and click to resume the windows session, the computer reboots successfully but only to the desktop. The windows that were peviously opened are gone and I must now start my work over again.
I can't seem to find the setting to revert back to "WHAT USE TO BE".
CAN SOMEONE HELP SOLVE MY PROBLEM?
