Does anyone know any software for capturing streaming video?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

That would be illegal because you are capturing the property of somebody else.

Hello. I am trying to watch live video on nbcolympics.com. When I load a video, the advertisement comes up and plays, then when the streaming loads, the video goes black, but I can hear the audio .

Any suggestions? I'm running an intel i7 on Win7 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 58XX graphics card. I have tried upgrading my drivers, to no avail...

A:Solved: Streaming Video - Audio, no Video

I found the solution on another website - disabling hardware acceleration by right clicking on the video and going to 'settings' resolves this issue. Then the browser needs to be restarted.

Apparently its a fairly common problem with the current Flash build.

Win7 Home, ZoneAlarm Extreme Security, Malwarebytes and 4g Ram.

Using Chrome with Win7, and when viewing video's via YouTube or BBC News both which use Adobe Flash Player.

The video either will not start, freeze after starting or the video can be seen running but with a black screen.

Adobe is fully up to-date and peppered version used, accelerator turned off, quality setting where possible set as low as possible.

If the video has HTML5, that plays ok.

If the same video's are pasted into IE, they play fine.

This problem has around for a month or so.

Any clues of how to rectify.

I am using mozilla firefox as my browser.Any help on this would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have watched many streaming vids from youtube or movie dvds. at the bottom of each screen is a sliding thing that enables me to advance or rewind to a certain point.

i just subscribed to a streaming video site and their sliding thing will slide all the way to the "end" or right and then i cannot move it at all to either advance or rewind. the movie continues to play but i have to sit through a lot of junk most of the time.

i have emailed my problem to the site and they just asked me for my RAM size and computer speed. i gave them that info but am a bit skeptical simply because their vids are the only ones that have this problem.

first, is there a name for that sliding thing? second, any clues on what i might do to bypass this problem?

thanks.

I am calling this a Vista problem because it appears to affect several different software and different internet activity.

I've spent the better pat of the day running antivirus and anti-malware programd and rebootin this computer several times.

Here are the problems:

First, in Mozilla Thunderbird -- Cannot send or receive mail, seems to be stuck in the offline mode or something.

Second, streaming video does not work. I only get a black screen in Netflix movies or film clips in IMDB. You tube shows a picture and sound, but is halting.

This problem persists in both Firefox and Chrome.

Other internet functions appear to run normally for this computer.

There is no such problem on two other computers running Win XP that get their internet connections through a router connected to the same modem.

The problem did not occur before today. What could have happened and how might I fix these problems?

A:Solved: Email and streaming video problems

I have tried to restore my system to an earlier version several times to different restore points. It always resulted in failure saying it could not restore because of an "unspecified" error.

The problems persist with email and online streaming video. Although Firefox is my usual browser, I am having problems with IE and Chrome as well.

I have run Norton AV, AdAware, Spybot S&D and Auslogics Boost speed, but they could discover nothing to improve internet operation.

I have been spending much time with this problem in the last few days and the Internet functions seem to be getting worse. I am experiencing slower operation and more popups. Messages regarding updates of Java and Flash have appeared and proceeding with installations appear to make matters worse! I have more unwanted junk programs.

Note that my other computers (both Win XP), that connect to the internet through the same router and modem do not have the problems.

Non internet use of this computer seems normal.

Could I solve the problem by buying Win 7 and installing on this system?

I want to get a really good streaming video player, but I'm not willing to spend $200-300 for a Blu-Ray player at this point. The Roku got the most wildly polarized reviews I've ever seen on Amazon: 750 5-star, and 150 1-star, mainly due to failed connections and ghastly customer service. So that's too big a risk to take, as I see it....not 150 awful reviews....

A little bit ago some streaming video stopped working. Break.com and Youtube most videos work. No videos on yahoo video and some other sites work. They just show a blank black box and never loads or plays. When I go to yahoo video and try to play a video, I right click on the video and choose "Settings..." it brings up an adobe flash player menu that is frozen and I cannot choose anything on that menu. I just went to the Adobe website and installed the latest versions of Adobe Flash player, Shockwave player, Java player. I set my explorer security from medium high down to just medium. I deleted "Wmsdkns.xml" for media player to reset it. I also changed out my video cards (I have two different cards, a geforce and a radeon).None of these solutions worked. My laptop, work computer, and wifes computer all play these videos. This is just happening to my home desktop. Any other ideas on what is happening? This happens on both Windows Explorer and Firefox

Hello,

I cannot hear audio when streaming video content is being played eg. YouTube videos and webinar videos. I can see the video.

I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. HP Notebook, Core2Duo, 2GHz, 3GB RAM.

Further, I also checked through Help & Support on my system, and found that when I go to Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Sound > Sounds tab, and select any of the programs listed in that tab eg. Asterisk, Critical Battery Alarm, Critical Stop and so on, I cannot hear the test sound when I click on the "Test" icon.

My speakers are turned up full volume. My default sound device is Speakers & Dual Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio Codec), and the message on the tab says "This device is working properly". Other sound devices like Digital Output Device (HDMI) and SPDIF Digital Out via HP Dock are also said to be working properly on the relevant tab.

I can hear audio CDs, downloaded songs from the net, gtalk conversations. I can also record voice and playback without a problem.

Thanks

I have a wireless keyboard and mouse, but the mouse doesn't work very well and it's a pain to find a hard surface when I'm sitting on the couch. So I'm looking for keyboard shortcuts, like "P'" for play, space bar to pause, "F" for fullscreen, etc. I tried googling, but I didn't have much luck. Hi,

I'll try to provide as much of the story as I can... hopefully some computer genius out there can help me, as HP Support evidently cannot.

I have an HP Pavillion DV6t-1300 laptop, barely 4 months old. Here are the specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64
Intel Core2 Duo T6600 @ 2.2GHz
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator/Mobil Intel 4 Series Express Chipset
Internet Explorer 8
Adobe Flashplayer 10
Windows Media Player 12

From day one, literally, of using this laptop, it has had trouble playing streaming video online from any website. CNN, Youtube, ABC.. anywhere. I have another 2 year old Dell laptop (Windows Vista) that runs on the same wireless internet at my home and has no difficulty whatsoever with streaming video, so I'm inclined to think the internet speed is not the issue. (Speedtest.net reports 52 ping, .92 Mgbs download & .76 upload for my connection). I have Symantec Endpoint Protection software up to date on this problem computer. I've run CCleaner, downloaded 'Video Accelerator', and Microsoft Silverlight with no improvement to the streaming video problem. I've also updated my BIOS, updated my Graphics card driver, reset my Internet Explorer settings to default- no success.

The problem is that video will play- it's just super choppy and buffers unpredictably. Even the commercials before episodes on ABC or NBC don't make it through without stuttering crazily. I was told by the last HP rep I spoke ... Read more

Since I have connected my computer to a router, i have had problems watching streaming video. When I was connected directly to the modem, it would start playing right away, and would play the entire video without a problem. If I had to pause, it would resume as soon as I hit play again. Now with the router, videos stop repeatedly and I have to wait for it to download before it will resume. If I pause, it has to download all over again. Needless to say, this is very irritating.

Hello everyone.

I was working on my pastor's son's computer on Sunday afternoon and he mentioned to me that a Baptist College which his daughters attend streams live sermons over their Web site. He said, though, that for some reason he was unable to access these sermons. I installed the latest version of Windows Media Player, but still to no avail. I also tried to play the streaming video on my computer, but I encountered the same problem. I am attaching the error message dialog because I am sometimes not the best at explaining things.

The link to the sermons is (apparently) always available on the Web site. The only thing which I could deduce is that the streaming video would only work when the sermons take place, but that if the link is clicked on at another time other than the scheduled time that this error would occur.

Could this be a possibility?

Thanks everyone for any help or advice.

Take care.

I have no problems playing games with my new FX 5200 Ultra video card by BFG, but I am at random times getting the annoying green screen that blanks out my videos I am streaming or playing(happens when I am streaming more often). Then after that happens usually, the computer reboots or shuts off. I never had this happen before. My computer's memory tests ok so why can I play games with this never happening but when I am streaming or watching video through Windows Media Player, etc do I get the "green screen blankout" and then often the shutdown of my computer? I have 512 MB of system memory and 128 MB of video memory! I use System Mechanic and it shows I have at least half of my memory even during playback so what is the problem here? Well, it seems u dont have a hardware problem. this problem occurs only when u r watching videos. so i guess its the media player. take my suggestion, stop using it. Its also got an advanced media player which can play any video u open it with like wmv, dat, mpg, rm, mov, avi, divx..... of course, the codecs for these formats r included in the pack.

I'm not a specialist when it comes to freeze problems, but I do have a tip (or 2 when talking about reverting back the changes)
IObit software is known for causing problems, I would highly recommend that you remove it and revert back the changes it made when it comes to drivers.
DB3 may install corrupted or the wrong drivers what may cause problems,Malwarefighter is IMHO garbage,Advanced SystemCare may cause more harm than good
About the uninstall program I can't tell you anything, because I have no experience with it and I prefer to keep it that way.

So I am wondering if it's their site that is the issue, my cam or this computer that has the issues.
On another note; is it possible to address the cam as an IP on our network and have people directly plug that address into their browsers? What kind of issues would I have with the router and our firewall (Norton)?

Hello everyone, I've recently built myself a little HTPC system for the living room but I'd like to stream some of the movies stored on it to my laptop downstairs over wireless.

Problem is that only the SD videos will stream reliably, any of the HD ones buffer every minute or so making them unwatchable. My isp is Be and my connection speed is usually around 10Mbps. If I use a wired connection I can stream 1080p stuff without problem it's just over wireless I'm having problems. I'm using XBMC for media playback.

Is there anything I can do with my wireless to enable me to stream HD stuff reliably?
I don't think it's signal related as it happens even if I sit right next to the router. I was thinking of getting a new USB highspeed wireless adapter but I'm pretty sure my router is only capable of the lower speed not the new 802.11n standard that seems to be the way to get the high speeds I need.

The only other thing I'm thinking would work is using one of those ethernet powerline adapters to get a wired connection for the bedroom. However these seem quite expensive, so my questions are is there anything I can do to improve my wireless or is there an easier way of getting a wired connection?

I think that streaming video is the problem, but I know nothing bout it ;). When I goto websites like mtv.com and [email protected] I try to watch music videos and things of that sort, the audio plays decent but the video... It's all jumpy and pauses alot even though the audio continues to play. All my friends say they can see it just fine, and I keep much better care of mine. I've got a dsl connection so speed isn't a problem. All the leaves is... Dunno.

Useful information
-I use Windows media player 10.
-I own other media players, but don't know how to get websites to use them instead.

-Derek

A:Streaming video...

What speed is your DSL connection? Even with our T1 (1.5Mb up/down) we still get lag. I have a 5.0Mb connection at home and I can stream video with ease.

You may also want to up the buffering if you have a slower DSL line.

Not sure if this should be under tips since it isn't a problem post, but I thought I'd better fit under the Games section =D. This is how to stream video from your computer to your Wii over a network! Since Wii uses the Opera browser, it has flash support built into. Orb can convert avi, mpeg, etc into flash on the fly. The quality is not 100%, but just the fact that you're able to do it seemed kinda cool to me.

1) Download the trail web browser on the Wii
2) Install Orb on host PC, http://orb.com/
3) Uninstall any code packs and install each codec indvidually, http://support.orb.com/support/solution.jsp?sol=144
4) Reset
5) Set up user name and shared folders in Orb
6) Log into mycast.orb.com on with Wii browser and stream away!

If your videos are freezing on the first frame and audio keeps playing, try this reghack:

Taken from http://forum.orb.com/
Open regedit on the PC where Orb is installed.
In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE..Software..Orb Networks..Orb..OrbStreamer you will find a "HQFlash" key with value 1. Delete this key and restart Orb.
For information this key sets Orb to encode in Flash using a better quality codec whenever possible, and this codec might not be compatible with the Wii Flash version. Removing this key will default to a lesser quality encoder which is more likely to be compatible.

Hi All

For the life of me i cant get streaming to work from windows 7 to Xbox 360.

In the old days using XP i would stream direct to Xbox 360 using WMP, easy as with no porblems.

Now i cant seem to get any sharing working through wmp12, i have shared everyone and everything, spent numreous hours trying to get it to work with no luck.

i use PS# media server which works but the video is choppy and stops.
Media Centre is even worse, i cant even watch 5 seconds before is stops and buffs.

I know enough about computers to know i am going crazy trying to figure this out.. if anyone is willing to help pl email and i will greatly appriciate it.

I would even remote access etc if that would help.

thank you
Michael

Hello,

I've been asked to get the following working but so far am stumped. Apparently it was working at one time (before I started here) and they want it to work again.

One of our clients, whose website we host and have done development on, has a live webcam that they want to provide access to from their site. They are running Windows NetMeeting on that computer and all works well when you connect using Windows NetMeeting.

But what they want is to have a link which would launch Windows Media Player and display the video stream through that.

Thank you for your help.

Ken

Hello I just built my new computer and I've encountered a problem I cant seem to fix or find any solution to. When streaming videos from any site the colors are very bad. They have about 5 total bright colors of red, blue, light blue, green and orange. Its really hard to describe so I was going to do a print screen and post that image but when I paste it into paint the streaming movie spot is black. So I took a picture on my phone and here it is. No idea how to fix it anyone got any ideas?

-Its also like this on every streaming video site not just this one.

A:Streaming Video Help?

hello outkast82889,

now what i need to do is go to your (device manager)

now once there you will want to select from the toolbar of the window(veiw) then a drop down menu / from it you will select (show all hidden devices)

now if you see any (red or yellow) quotation marks , make a note of what they

now go to the (event veiwer) this is thru the (administrator tools) in the control panel
here you will find 3 to 4 subcatagories

you will want to check each of them for this is where windows keeps track of all errors
now you will want to make notes of the errors that have been recorded ( you do not have to make notes of double entries just of the dates of their happenings & how many there is)
you will get more information on the errors if you (right) click them / then select properties

then get back to us

Help! I just got a new computer with XP home. Emachines w3506. Everything is OK but I can't play on line video content from either IE or AOL. On IE, it just flashes "Your video is loading" and flashes between stop and play on the control buttons. My DVD works fine, and everything else is fine. What is wrong? Any ideas?

You tube works fine, videos play fine from this site.

Hi arahod

I'd expect one of your Internet Options settings is in conflict with what the sites you wish to play videos from require. You can take a look at the settings a typical site needs to play videos & try those settings (we'll use the New York Times as an example --- http://www.nytimes.com/ref/membercen...imediaqa9.html ). Another strategy is to add the sites from which you often view videos to your trusted sites (in the Security tab of Internet Options).

If you feel your favorite media player is at fault, check in EventViewer to see if any errors are showing in the logs that happen at the same time your video fails to play [Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/Administrative Tools/EventViewer].

...and, of course, since this is a brand-new machine, you can contact eMachines to see if there are any problems specific to your model.

Best of luck
. . . Gary

I have a balky computer that has a hard time navigating to websites, downloading, or following links. Nearly all scans by malware detectors are impossible as are updates to existing software. I first noticed that we could not view an entire music video and now we usually don't get through the ad that precedes most videos. After many tries I was finally able to run a PC-Cillin scan that found threee objects;Java_Bytever.BJ, Java_Bytever.dl and another that has an extension that I can't remember. On a subsequent scan it did not find any malware so I think that they are, somehow, now hidden. Spybot and Adaware gave me a clean bill of health also, but I could update neither of them before the scans. Here is HJT scan:

I like to view music videos on a site called Launch.com. I have a high-speed cable connection (advertised at 500 kbs). Lately, when I try to view videos at the highest speed available (the site lets you stream at various speeds), there are pauses in the video, no video at all and sometimes breaks and pauses in the audio as well. Here are my questions:

Are there problems with Launch.com? Is their server gagging trying to keep up with the traffic? (remember--this used to work just fine until a month or two ago).

I have Norton AntiVirus and update it daily. There are no issues here. I'm not behind a firewall, no issue here either. Is there something I can change in IE5.5 to change the buffering (or is it cache) for streaming? If so, how?

My carrier is Charter Pipeline. Does anybody out there have problems with streaming multi-media using Charter?

Can somebody else go to Launch.com, watch a video at 300 kbs and tell me if they have the same problem?

Ran a video Janet Jackson at 300kb windows media through Road Runner cable with no problems. You may try removing all but systray and explorer through the crtl, alt, del, end task and see if that helps. If it does not you may have to take a look at what is running in background using msconfig and see if there is anything you can cut back on to free up resources.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Lately, whenever I try to access a video on the internet (like thru MSN newcasts) the video and audio come through OK but the video is all washed out and faded. This just started happening recently. I'm using a broadband connection for the internet and my video card is a G-Force FX 5200 NVIDIA AGP 4X 128 MB memory running on WinXP Home. I've checked my settings but can't seem to find out what's causing it. Thanks
