Satellite Pro L670-14M not compatible with Intel 7620 Wifi Card?

Q: Satellite Pro L670-14M not compatible with Intel 7620 Wifi Card?

Hi Guys,

I'm currently trying to work out a problem regarding my WiFi card on my L670-14M.

The old Wifi card died on us, so I decided to buy a Intel 7620 card to replace it. This installed fine, and is recognized by the device manager, and I can now find the wifi card in the adapter settings menu.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to go any further. The wireless logo in the corner appears, but with a red "X" through it.

I've tried:
Disabling and enabling the cardUsing the FN+F8 key combinationUpdating the BIOSRunning the troubleshooter (It tells me to switch on the WiFi capabilities via a switch on the computer or the FN keys. I have no switch and the FN key combination doesn't work.I've also attempted to clear the TCP/IP stack to no avail.

All I can guess now is that the card is either incompatible with this laptop, or maybe there's something in the registry that could be changed/removed to help? I've tried several different cards too (as this is a work laptop and we've bought the cards in bulk) and it's not due to a faulty card.

Preferred Solution: Satellite Pro L670-14M not compatible with Intel 7620 Wifi Card?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, my old wifi card was  stolen in Thiland ( I order new one in official service. They install it and now I can see it in Win10 system devices, but it doesn't see any wifi networks. I've tried to install/upgrade different drivers, but nothing change. After 2 days I bought one more PCI 7620-ac this time. But nothing new with this one. I have two systems installed Win10 and Ubuntu 16.04 In last one I can also see that PCI card is installed, but there is no network interface for this wifi card. Can anybody advise me what to do? ( Officials say to reinstall Windows)))

Hi, I'm trying to install Intel Wireless Display Software (American, International) Rev.D 23 Sep 2014 downloaded from the HP support center for my computer. The installation starts but after a few seconds a message comes "The platform is not compatible with Intel WiDi. The Driver for wireless access can't find or download the necessary components for Intel WiDi". From the Intel website (http://ark.intel.com/products/81015/Intel-Core-i7-4510U-Processor-4M-Cache-up-to-3_10-GHz) I can see that WiDi is supported for the processor I have. Do I need to change my driver for the Wireless card? Which one should I change to?

I had a msg error fews days ago on the boot menu HDD TOSHIBA MK7575GSX is failed.
After 2 recovery using F8 key and one defrag I managed to make it work again, but Toshiba told me that my hard disk is dying and that I'll have to replace it as soon as possible.Toshiba is definitly too expensive (280EUR for same HD!), my HD is HDD SATA 2.5 750GB divided onto 2 partitions 349 & 348GB.
Capacity : 750 Go
Hauteur : 9.5 mm
Interfaces : 1 x SATA 3 Gb-s

I found my HD @ 72EUR second hand let's say but I'm not very hot buying it.

Question: somebody could recommand a HD to replace the original one ? Max price 80EUR capacity 500GB minimum.

I found a HDD 2.5 Seagate/Samsung Momentus 1TB 5400 rpm SATA-300 ST1000LM024 ?72EUR, I ask to the seller if compatible with my Satellite.

What is the best way to save my OS knowing that I would like to save the factory recovery option integrated on my HD that I used to restore
my laptop using F8 key.

For info : I bought a crucial ssd for my Qosmio x870-13v last year, they gave me a serial for Acronis software. I used it once to create an image of my Qosmio under windows 10 but the result was very bad when I tried to used it back, I had to make a factory restoration (it's Toshiba itself who changed my HD using the image I provided them). Then, Acronis image, I'm not very confident with this software.

Any advice welcome,
Guillaume (french)

It appears as if this model is not yet ready for Windows 10. Has anyone with same model installed W10 yet and what limitations found if any?

I have just purchased a new laptop and have windows xp installed. After installing some other programs and then turning the computer off, it would not turn back on again. A blue error message screen appears but I can't read it because it flashes on and off the screen too quickly. It enters into a loop where Windows never starts, a screen appears that says that windows was unable to start and gives me several options such as "restart windows securely" or "restart windows using a previous configuration." No matter what option I select, it returns to the blue error message screen and then back to the screen telling me to select an option.

I have tried reinstalling Windows XP with the original disc from Toshiba. It worked for three days and then the same problems occurred again. The last thing I did before I turned it off was to install a plug in from Adobe. I installed it again this morning and I am worried that this error loop is going to happen again. I don't know why this is happening and I want to prevent it from happening again in the future.

A:Satellite Pro L670 and windows XP

I also don?t know why this happen but let us at first clarify some basic stuff.

Which notebook model do you have exactly (L670-xxx)?
Have you got original WXP recovery disc with your notebook?
Have you changes SATA settings in BIOS?

Please enter BIOS and set it to default settings. After doing this install OS again using original WXP disc if you got it with your notebook.

This is my first post and I am not a computer wizard so apologise if I don't understand everything on here.
I have a Satellite Pro laptop which I purchased with Windows 7 pre installed serial number is 5A250685K which was running great which as it was the best I could afford pleased me.
Was chuffed when Microsoft offered me a free upgrade to Windows 10, at first it ran well then after a few days I started to get problems with freezing screen , running slow, and then notification that my AVG anti virus was disabled so after many days of problems I contacted AVG and after trying various solutions came to the conclusion that it was down to Windows 10. I contacted Microsoft who had one of their technicians to do a remote connection but they were unable to rectify the problem, they tried this on several occasions with no resolution until after the last effort I could not start my laptop it gets to Toshiba logo with the F2 or F12 options and then just starts again and does this several times before shutting down. A Toshiba technician then told me that I cannot get a installation disc for this. Which Microsoft have told me it requires and although I have my Windows 7 key they say I cannot download it from Microsoft because there will be specific drivers that Toshiba use. So does anyone have any ideas as I cannot afford to replace this laptop and for me it was expensive, do I just have to throw it in a skip or does someone out there have a Disc or other solution.

I have upgraded my Toshiba Satellite L670 from Windows 7 (64bit) to Windows 10 although it is not mentioned in the list of allowed laptops. First I had no problems with Microsoft office programs like Word or Excel. Open Office and all other programs like Internet-Security-Software etc. work without problems.
The only feature, I found until last week, which does not work, is: it is not possible to read Data from a camera (Olympus), from video camcorder (Sony) and from navigation device (TomTom route map) via USB. The file manager of Win 10 recognizes the connected device and displays it, but there is no option (Explorer) to read the data.

Which driver from Toshiba must be updated/upgraded to activate this feature for Windows 10?

Currently I returned to Windows 7.

I have a problem with my Laptop. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit the laptop came with Win7 Home Premium 32bit.
Now I want to restore the original Windows Home Premium. On the laptop is a second partition with a folder named "HDD-Recovery".

When i hold the "0" button on start nothing happens. The System Recovery doesn?t start.

Can you help my fix the problem.

Thanks and regards,

A:Satellite L670 - System HDD Recovery does not start

This does not function because you have installed Win 7 64bit as you said here:
> I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit the laptop came with Win7 Home Premium 32bit.
But did you try also pressing F8 -> Repair my Computer -> HDD recovery?
Try this

Otherwise the HDD recovery does not function because the boot manager was changed/damage due to new Win 7 installation and therefore you cannot load the HDD recovery.
Therefore it?s always recommended to create a recovery disk BEFORE changing anything on the HDD.

What to say buddy? you need recovery disks. I assume you have an European notebook model

You can order the Recovery disks here:

I have a serious problem with my Toshiba notebook. It stucks on Windoes loading screen. I tried all boot methods (normal, safe mode etc.) by pressing F8 after powering on, but none of them is working. Sometimes an programm starts that is checking for boot problems, it says "registration is corrupt" and that i is repaired, but it is defenetly not.

The worst case is, that i can't start the recovery mode. Normally i first have to press F8, then select "Repair mode", afterwards i can select the language and in the fowollowing menu the recovery mode. But after i select the language it stucks on windows standard background and nothing happpens.

Pressing zero by turning on doesn't work, nothing happens.

Any ideas?

In the past it was possible to order a recovery dvd at https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu, but this link doesn't work.

Recently installed Windows 8 as part of a dual boot system on my laptop. I went to try to play one of the games I usually play under Windows 7 to find it would not even attempt to start as the graphics drivers were out of date... I've searched the Toshiba website for compatible drivers, only to find the newer laptops supported... I've looked around the internet and there is no mention of Windows 8 compatible drivers for the L670-14p.

I know Toshiba have got to make their money, but is it really feasible for them to expect the average punter to by a new laptop everytime a new OS comes out?

As I dual boot, its not really that big an issue, since I can go back to 7, but what about your less techincally minded customers, that have installed Windows 8 on fully capable computers, but the woeful lack of driver updates has now made that process a nightmare for them?

I have always bought Toshiba, since I use my laptop for both business and pleasure... my old Tosh, an Equium is still going strong, no issues at all... but I'm afraid the indifference of Toshiba towards driver updates is staggering, especially for modern machines. The inability and shortsightedness to not fully support a major new OS on release such as Win 8 is quiet frankly pathetic....

I'm sure other laptop manufacturers that actually update their drivers will be thankful for Toshiba's business

A:Satellite Pro L670-14p upgraded to Windows 8 - ATI Driver out of date

> I've looked around the internet and there is no mention of Windows 8 compatible drivers for the L670-14p.

I found an info about Win 8 supported notebooks:

As you can see the L670 is not in the list? so Win 8 drivers will not be released for this unit.

> I know Toshiba have got to make their money, but is it really feasible for them to expect the average punter to by a new laptop everytime a new OS comes out?

It?s just my personal opinion but I recommend checking the product pages of other computer manufacturers? every computer manufacturer release new notebook models in regular intervals? and this does not depend on new available systems.

If you would check the Win 8 upgrade matrix, you will see a raft of older notebook models which will get the Win 8 drivers? of course it?s always pity to see that own notebook model is not a part of such upgrade.

Regarding the display driver:
You could use one from ATI page or some 3rd party driver pages like omegadriver.net for example?

Hi I have just upgraded to Windows 10 on my L670-12J and the camera does not work any more. I have tried to search for a Win 10 driver but I have not found any.
Also some of the function keys do not work any more and of course the tab that used to open at the top of the screen has gone also.
I did install some software to check for driver updates related to Win 10 but it did not identify a problem or a driver for the camera.
Can anybody help please.

finally found solution -

go to device manager -> update driver software (on cammera, possibly shown as unknown device, so you need to actually figure out which one is cammera) -> browse my computer for driver -> let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer -> pick chicony usb 2.0 cammera, it will give you warning that driver might not be compatible, ignore warning, camera working...
(Unsure if camera was on list before i installed win 7 driver i got from

however, i recommend looking is there this option in available devices first)

Three years late.  The answer is "Yes!" The Lenovo Flex 2 14/15 can be upgraded with a compatible wireless-AC card. The card detailed below can be installed successfully in the Flex 2-14 and it's pretty much a plug-n-play device under Windows 10. Drivers are installed automagically so that the 2GHz and 5GHz wireless and Bluetooth can be accessed. I have two Lenovo Flex 2 laptops each running this exact wireless card. Make sure the wireless card you install matches the details listed below. Or else you'll get an "incompatible wireless module detected" error message when you try to boot the laptop. Name: Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 3160Model: 3160NGWFCC ID: PD93160NGUTA: H45043-003FRU: 04X6076EC: 770009 A genuine "Lenovo branded" Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 3160 wireless card can be purchased from: http://us.eetgroup.com/i/04X6076-Lenovo-Wireless-Module I've attached a picture of the correct wireless card.

You can go to Intel site and see if there is a Vista driver and if not reinstall the XP driver. To do the XP driver you may not be able to autorun, but instead right click and "explore" the video driver to go inside and use setup for XP. The only other solution would be add a new video card to either pci slot or agp if you have one.

So I bought my laptop, a Pavilion 17-f113dx a little over 3 years ago.  I am swapping the drive for an ssd drive and I thought while I go to all the trouble of disassembling the laptop that I would change out the wifi card with a dual wifi/bluetooth card to improve wireless performance. I understand that there may be a whitelist in the bios of compatabile cards for a laptop this old.  Where would I be able to find that list?  Or is there a solution short of installing a hacked bios?

A:Compatible wifi dual card for 17-f113dx

Hi: There is no whitelist, but there is almost a bigger problem... 1. The notebook requires extensive disassembly to get to the wireless card.  If you can overcome that, then #2 is the killer. 2.  On most of these newer HP notebooks with single band wlan cards, there is only one antenna connected to the card, and there isn't a second one present. A dual band card such as the Intel 7260 N or AC requires 2 antennas to work. It will take even more disassembly including the display panel area to run the 2nd antenna. Do not rely on the picture in the service manual which normally shows two antennas. You will need to physically inspect your notebook's situation before buying a replacement card. If it has two antennas, then you are good to go. I would recommend the Intel 7260 dual band N or AC card for your 3 year old notebook.

My fiancee and I currently have the Dell Inspiron 17R SE laptop with the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230, and it has worked for a few months now up until the Monday of last week. While on the internet, my fiancee was noticing her wifi speed slowed down to a crawl. She performed speed tests to find out that the speed was not as high as it used to be. She updated drivers for the computer, as well as removed any clutter that would cause the wifi slowdown.
When we tried many options, they did not give us the results that we were looking for. Finally, after some process of elimination, we concluded that our wifi card needed a replacement. I don't want to get any old card to use and then find out that it doesn't fit or is not compatible with Windows 10. I have been taking my time to research what could be compatible to improve my laptop computer, but I have been coming up short.

What I would like to know is what wifi cards are compatible with our Dell computer so that we can get this replaced as soon as possible without having to pay out the nose for unneeded computer repair?

Hello everyone,

I just bought the Wireless N PCI Adapter (TL-WN851ND) from TP-LINK for my Windows 10 PC. It says that it's compatible for Windows 7/Vista/XP but it doesn't say Windows 10 on there. I thought that since it works on Windows 7, it will probably work on Windows 10 aswell, but since I inserted the card and have it running my computer freezes randomly and gives me a blue screen sometime later. The blue screen also says MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION. Sometimes when I turn the PC on it will freeze and go to the blue screen while loading Windows 10.

Is there any possible way to make this adapter compatible for Windows 10 without it freezing all the time which leads to me having to reboot the computer over and over again?

A:Making a hardware for Windows7 compatible with Windows10 (Wifi card)

When I tried to install the driver that came with the hardware it said that it doesn't work on this operating system (Windows 10).
I installed a different random driver that I found in the internet, but it still freezes every now and then.

If Win10 supports that Intel HD graphics chip, a driver will be available in Windows Update.

Check if your Intel HD is compatible:

Dear Toshiba forum members.
First excuse me for my poor English because my native language is Dutch.

I have recently bought my third Toshiba notebook A Satellite R850-18W.

I already bought a replacement wlan adapter for the original Atheros AR9002WB adapter.
Changing the the adapter in the notebook is easy, I have already done that.

The only problem is, I couldn't get bluetooth working so I put the original Atheros adapter back in my Satellite R850. Everything is working, wifi and bluetooth.

But I want to buy a router with 5ghz band possibility and take advantage of the speed en less crowed 5ghz band. That's why I bought the Intel centrino 6235 adapter.

I need help in which steps to follow to get everything working like it should.

Which software do I need to un-install to avoid problems.
Do I need to un-install the drivers of the Atheros adapter first?

I think and hope it should be possible to make such a minor change in configuration of this notebook?

I guess there isn't an easy way although Toshiba has also notebooks were they use the Intel centrino advanced-N 6235 adapter. I was kind of hoping on an easy software install of drivers and the Toshiba connection software.

Hope anyone can help me with this.
Thanks in advance.

A:Satellite R850-18W: Replacement of Wlan card with Intel centrino 6235

Not quite sure if you will be able to use this Intel Centrino WLan card.
There is a similar threads about the Intel Centrino Advanced n 6230 and the other user could not enable this card

Therefore I recommend talking to your dealer if it?s possible to return this kind of WLan card if there would be an compatibility problem.

I have a Satellite P850 with i7cpu and 16gb ram running win 7 home premium.

The wifi card seemed to give up and as it was a realtek, with no support from their site, not even drivers. I decided to swap it out and installed an Intel centrino advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 dual band mini wifi card I have finally got all the drivers installed but the intel diagnostic keeps asking to turn the mechanical switch for the wifi. I have tried the F12 and FN keys but nothing happens.

Any Ideas as to how to get this switched on???

A:Satellite P850 - new WIFI card cannot be switched ON

You're very proud of that card evident in giving us the entire model number compared to the Realtek whatever that you dismissed.

Whether Toshiba supports your particular card is a quest for you to determine and I'll get you started by focusing your efforts to the csd toshiba site hosting drivers for Intel WiMax devices:

I hope you haven't thrown your RealTek away, you will eventually realize a new set of problems and incompatibilities using your Intel Card while RealTek devices whether they're Atheros or RaLink chipsets are superior, flexible and accommodating of manual power adjustment for increased performance.

Intel's are incapable of such things and overly constrictive and incapable of effective control, just like the mysterious conflict you're having at this very moment.

The RealTek drivers are already included inside Windows, so are most Intel WiFi cards and these downloads are another layer of issues your forcing upon yourself.

Intel cards may have compatibility problems. You may have better luck with an Atheros or Realtek card.

My computer is running on Windows 7 Professional 32bit. It has worked fine for the last 2 years. But recently, my wifi card has started me giving me problems. It detects the wireless networks but connects to them only for around 10-15 minutes after which the connection is not even visible in the list. Then after 30-40 minutes, it can connect but the same problem is there.

Also, I tried to make my own ad-hoc connections and saved them. These connections do work and my friends are able to connect to it and the connection remained active for hours. I did it to check whether the Wifi card is working or not. It does work but only with the outgoing connections that are made by my computer. The networks that in range and are giving problem with my wifi card are working fine for my friends. So, I guess it is not the network's problem.

When I tried troubleshooting it, it gave the problem 'Problem with wireless adapter or access point'. I also tried installing all different driver versions and rollbacking to the default version for my wireless card but the same problem is there. Although in device manager, It says the device is working properly.

Please help me in solving this problem. Exact name of WiFi Card in Device Manager- Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN

A:Intel 5100 AGN WiFi Card problem

The same complaints and problems with this 5100AGN adaptor has been around for a long time.

There are countless threads about this on the internet. It seems that disabling the 802.11n Only setting in the routers settings and running in mixed wireless mode can help. Updating the drivers can also help, try the Intel site. > Intel? Driver Update Utility

There are plenty of long threads about this ongoing problem with some possible solutions, so your not alone.
