I recommend downloading and running Outlook PST Repair. It's a PST repair tool that I've used it in the past to recover emails, contacts, tasks and notes from corrupt Outlook files that are damaged or inaccessible. Supports Outlook 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013.

You can download it direct from this link http://goo.gl/1bjhSi. (This link will automatically start a download of Outlook PST Repair that you can save to your computer.)

I have XP SP1 on one CD. I installed XP and SP1 on my computer and then upgraded to XP 2. I slipstreamed both the bootable XP & SP1 and SP 2 upgrade into one directory. Together XP, SP1, and SP2 amout to about 800 meg. How do I get the combined 800 meg onto one bootable source like a CD?

The reason I want to do this is because I am getting error messages on bootup to drive C requiring me to do a Windows repair. I cannot do a windows repair on my C drive because my C drive has SP1 and SP2, while my bootable windows CD has only SP1. Currently I am booting up using a floppy.

Hi.

I'm trying to do a fresh install of windows 7 onto an Crucial M4 SSD as the previousversion kept hanging atstartup, but the installation seems to hang and is very slow. So I want to restore my SSD back to factory settings and maybe this would help. Normally I would use partition magic but that's on a bootable flash drive and unfortunately this pc will not boot to usb. Is it possible to make the bootable flash drive into a bootable cd rom? cheers guys.

A:Can i make a bootable flash drive into a bootable cd rom?

if you have the files on the usb, you should be able to just copy them to the cd and it should boot. i say should because i have not done this. if you use a windows 7 system to do this, you should get the option to make the cd bootable when you burn it using windows.

Pretty sure you cant make a bootable windows 7 install disc from files on your pc.

If you have downloaded a legal windows 7 iso then its as easy as burning it to the disc.

If you dont have an iso file you will need to buy an os install disc or borrow one from someone else.

You also need a serial key.

I have a couple questions I need help with. I have a Windows XP Pro ISO file that I downloaded. If you burn an ISO file on a CD, does that automatically make it bootable? Or do you need to make the disk bootable while you burn the ISO file to disk?

Another question is, I do not have the option in my BIOS to point it to boot from the CD Rom. I updated the BIOS today from HP and it is still not there as an option, there is only Mutlibay, Harddrive and Network. Where can I go to get that option or boot from a CD?

Having no fun with the Win 8.1 - call it downgrade. Had problems from the start. I've had Win 7 for some time. I bought Win 8 and an SSD and did an upgrade from 7-8 on the SSD with no problems using Paragon Migrate OS to SSD - worked very well. This left me with Win 7 on a 320 gig hard drive and Win 8 on an SSD. I didn't touch Win 7 after that until the Win 8.1 downgrade which left me with an unstable Win 8 OS. When trying to boot into 8.1 I was getting very slow response, odd startup of some programs, lockups, etc. I tried to run safe mode (recovery) in Win 8 to see what I could do to fix, but it was very hard to get into and not much use when I finally did. The last time I tried to get into safe mode in 8.1 the computer booted up into safe mode for Windows 7. Since then restarts are in Win 7, not 8. The boot into 7 rearranged the drive letters and the Win 8 SSD became an NTFS (Healthy active, primary partition), no boot, page file, etc. C: = Win 7, E: = Win 8. Since then I have not tried to start Win 8 - not sure how. (See attachment).

To make a long story short, having Win 7 available has been really helpful. I would like to keep it available and updated while also having Win 8 as an option.

Is there a decent start-up software for choosing which system to boot up?
Is there a way for me to repair Win 8 (disk E) so that it is bootable?

Recently, I downloaded the most recent version of Knoppix in the ISO file and could not remember how I made it bootable before.

After making 3 coasters, thought I better ask for help. Tried "disk at once" and also copied file to CDR but none will boot. Saw the "make bootable disk" option in either Nero 6 or Roxio Easy CD Creator but did not try that one yet because it seemed like something bootable would be using an operating system other than Knoppix to make it bootable.

Anyone know how to do this or where to look. I did a Google search and it said use "disk at once" but that did not work.

A:How to make windows 7 bootable DVD?

If you have the ISO file on your PC, you can burn the image using Nero by double clicking the file as if you were running the file. It should automatically pull up the image file with Nero. At that point put a disc in and select burn.

Should it simply go to a window asking you what to do with the file or that it does not have a program to open the file, you can close the window, right click on the iso file and select open with... It will list a list of programs in which you can set the default to Nero and then select Nero from the list and you are back to the first step I provided. Burn the image and it should already be bootable.

Hopes this helps.

Hello,

I have made a windows 7 image with the versions I want in it and it fits on a sl 4.7 dvd. All I did was take the install.wim out of the original genuine windows 7 ultimate iso and modify it and put it back in it with daemon tools then burned it to a dvd SL. The problem is that I am not getting the UEFI boot option for the dvd!! My bios is configured correctly 100%. If I take rufus program and put the w7 on usb, uefi shows up as boot option. My dvd does boot but only in mbr mode. So how do I make the dvd bootable with uefi? It can be done because the original w7 ultimate iso can boot as uefi or mbr mode. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do?? I used daemon tools to extract and put the wim in the iso and ashampoo burning studio to burn the iso to dvd. Well I'm new over here...

So here is what I did:

I 've Windows 7 basically extracted files. I have tired to put it on a dvd and burn it, burning process was fairly easy I thought I've a bootable DVD now.

Then I tired it in a desktop computer and set to boot from CD.

To my disappointment it did not boot from CD. But when when normally I put it in DVD and and run from Desktop it works pretty well but then there is another problem it has no options as when the normally windows DVD has when they are bootable. So installation works it simply replaced the older files with new one and a folder is created for older files.

What i want is bootable DVD so I can use it to format and Install fresh copy.

So I need help! how can I put files on dvd using any specific software and how do I burn it so it becomes a bootable DVD. Thanks!!

PS. currently i have pre-installed roxio on my dell studio laptop.

Hi

I have been trying to solve the following problem for a few days now but I am finding it difficult to find the answer.

When I installed windows 7 64 Ultimate I set up a multiboot machine from within Vista, I installed windows 7 and Ubuntu on separate hard drives (one HD per OS). The boot menu is on the Vista drive. All drives are SATA.

I soon formatted the Ubuntu drive and removed the option to boot to it.

My Vista OS no longer boots, it just hangs whilst loading so I want to format that drive now and just use Windows 7. However, I have tried removing all the hard drives apart from the windows 7 one and I find that this will not boot.

I would like to make the windows 7 drive bootable but I am not sure how to do this.

I have tried removing all the HD’s apart from the none booting windows 7 HD and putting in the Windows 7 disk and carrying out the option to repair start up (not sure exactly what this was called) several times but this does not make any difference. It just prompts me to restart the machine and boots again from the DVD.

Sorry if this has been asked before, if it has perhaps someone could point me in the direction to the thread.
Kind regards
Martin

Hi,

I don't really know if my post is in the right forum section, but here is the idea.
Since I installed windows 7 on my new laptop, a MSI Ex625, I encountered some problems.

- I have some buttons, one of them is used to choose the alimentation mode of the laptop. An other button used to put my laptop on the "cinema pro" mode which activates my subwoofer and improves the video quality.

- I can't install Quicktime anymore and use iTunes (but it is another problem).

So, I contacted the MSI support and they told me to install the drivers for my laptop from their original website. That operation done, nothing changed. So they asked me to make an upgrade of my BIOS.

The fact is that I never performed that before and I am still looking on how to boot from a pen drive in order to install the new version of the bios. Would anyone know how to make a bootable pendrive for win 7?

Any help is welcome.

How to make xp partition bootable

note: i did follow spunk funk directions but they were not what I needed.

and I also wanted to report how I was able to resolve my problem

problem

I have 1 disk (1 hd), hd 0, and I ended up having 2 partitions in there: c and d

c is where my windows folder is (this is what ms calls my boot partition... I know.. it should be called something else... that was my mistake on my previous post)

d is where my ntldr, boot.ini and ntdetect files were (I'm not sure how they got there but there they were), this is what ms calls the system partition.

issue: I wanted to have only one partition that would act as my boot and and system partition... just for kicks and consistency.

I tried to move the files on d to c and tried to make c as my active partition this did not work, I tried mbrfix and bootfix... did not work.

what did work comes next.

but first of all I wanted to thank spunk.funk's input as this allowed me to see a bit further (looking at diskpart made it very clear).. Thank you so much for that!!!

2nd of all and very important advice: do a back up of your hd... A:How to make a Bootable DVD from Windows 7 downloaded files?

Hello PowerVU and welcome to SevenForums.

You can find applications that make bootable CDs out of files, but it's too much trouble.

I have 2, more promising, options for you:

1. You can install Windows 7 from within another operating system, e.g. XP or Vista. Just run the setup.exe and follow on-screen installation guide.

or

2. You can create a bootable USB stick with the files you got there. Check out this post : How do you make a USB drive bootable so I can load W7 on a netbook?

Hi, I do fresh install of Windows on a regular basis and I recently wanted to start using usb flash drive for it instead of CD-ROM. I used the software Rufus for setting up the flash drive with windows 7 All in One and I am having different errors all the time (I will write the exact error messages a next time). I have also used different Windows iso of non-all-in-one and still have errors most of the time; sometimes I get the install working though.

My question: What is the best way to add Windows 7 AIO or normal version into a thumb drive that will work almost all the time? I have tried different thing so far with deceiving result.

This is really important for me as I do this often and its really faster with thumb drive and I really wish I can get to make it work as it should.

I have also tried that method of removing the flash drive and restarting the installation but that doesnt work, exept one time.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Also if you guys understand what are the reasons for having those errors appear everytime I try to install Windows on an hard drive, that would be appreciated if you can share some infos with me.

Thank you very much

A:What is the way to make windows 7 bootable in a usb flash drive?

I have never had a problem with it.

Might your flash drive, or usb port.

"doesn't work" isn't a great help. What doesn't work? How far does it get? Any error messages?

Folks I'm new to Win7. I used the Windows 7 Backup utility to backup the entire primary drive to a new bigger drive [basically 'cloning', so I thought]. As I suspected, it put most of the files there, but its not bootable.
Error "BOOTMGR Not Found"

So two questions:
1. Do I need to use a third party utility? or can Windows 7 Utility make a bootable image?
2. Can the current image on the backup drive be fixed/added-to/bootable??? or do I wipe out and start over.

?

I have a Seagate 7200.10 Baracuda SATA drive that seems to be good when I install it as secondary drive
on another computer. I can copy and more files to/form it.

I decided to place this drive in a Acer AST180-UD400B and install XP on it but I could not boot off the drive. So I used acer backup image software to do a backup on the computer. I found that the computer would not boot off this drive with the Acer image backup. I had another drive that I placed in the ACER computer with Windows seven on it and it boot to password state. The computer that I am installing the Seagate drive in is a ACER AST180-UD400B

Why can't I make the seagate into a bootable drive with XP?
Thank you

I am trying to upgrade my BIOS. The manual says to make a bootable system disk. I can't figure out how to do it. What is the procedure for making a bootable system disk in Windows 2000 Pro. I also have a Windows 98SE computer if that is easier.
Thanks
The reason I am doing this is because my new Brother Printer will not allow the computer to boot up if it is on. The computer freezes at the memory test. If the printer is off, everything is fine. The printer is on the USB.

I currently have a disc copy of windows 7 and I am currently running it as my main OS as well. I was wondering just in case my computer decides to have a few issues is there anyway I can make a data partition to store windows 7 or put it on a flash drive so that in the incident of a hardware failure I would be able to go into my bios and boot the recovery partition or boot it from a flash drive allowing me to reinstall the OS.

A:How can I make a bootable flash drive and data partition for windows 7

What do you mean "disc copy"? Do you mean you have Windows 7 install DVD or ...? If you mean you have only the Windows 7 that came with the computer, on the hard drive, then you can download a legal copy with SP1 integrated from here:

Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River.

Make sure you get the same version you have, Home Premium, Pro or Ultimate and 32 or 64 bit. Note that Basic or Starter is not available.

I recommend using ImgBurn at 4X speed (or the slowest available) to create the DVD from the downloaded .iso file.

You can do this on any computer capable of burning a DVD.

For techies or folks who work on computers: Create Windows 7 Universal ISO With All Editions Selection On Install with ei.cfg Removal Utility.
This will fit on a 6GB flash drive or can be burned to a DVD.

Why not just save the media from which you created the current one?
