I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It is my secondary browser, Edge "out of the box" is safer than any browsers (out of the box) because Appcontainer integrity level. Until now i don't get any issues. I would use it all the time when extensions will be implemented.

Firstly, my home page is set up to open in Duckduckgo but it opens in Bing nevertheless. Microsoft Edge sets automatically its default search engine to Microsoft edge and does not allow to reset it to DUckduckgo. Secondly, even if I use Duckduckgo, Microsoft
Edge tracks my loggings. I keep deleting the logging but is there a way to remedy it? Is there enough users to file class action suit for violating users rights ( select engine and privacy issues). Some engines allow to clear all search history upon closing
the browser. Microsoft Edge does not provide this option. Although, Microsoft implies we are using Ducduckgo, they blatantly track us. Where the data go? To NSA?

I know this is a windows problem, but I have scoured the internet with no solution.  If i unpin the edge and store icon from the taskbar and I reboot or logout (or just kill and restart explore.exe) then they come back.  There are 2 fixes that are supposed to work - removing these from registry key, and from a roaming profile path - but none of that works for me.  Anyone got any other ideas?

A:vbscript to unpin from task bar not working

"Can't get it to work" is kind of vague. Firstly when you create objects from ActiveX you should check the return to see if an object was indeed created. Using error checking will give more clues what went wrong than me guessing.

If you get some error messages then post. But I think you'd have better luck on a vbs programming forum. Many more vbs aficionados would read it for one thing.

Hi there.
Just wondering if there are any SKY GO users here --I love it for UK football (Premier league on Sky sports).

However because it still uses Silverlite security one is forced to continue to use IE11 (although I believe there are some unofficial workarounds to get this stuff to work on Google Chrome).
The Android app works fine but you can't cast to an external screen (Mirroring gets disabled) so you are forced to use a browser on a PC for relly nice HD pics.

SKY don't even seem to realize that W10 even EXISTS - and that's using UK call centres - once you get transferred to an Indian call centre - then it's another whole Ball game : "What's SKY GO -- We don't have any information on that Service " !!!.

Can't understand the logic here -- a service people will legally sign up and PAY for puts so many obstacles in the way of legitimate users accessing the service compared with some "Pirate streams" which work instantly without any mega problem that I often use these "Alternative streams" even though I am quite happy paying for the legal service.

Cheers
jimbo

I am looking for a way to set a default homepage in Edge, that is set initially to a custom homepage when users first launch Edge, but that is not enforced and allows them to change it, and then it is not changed back. For IE11 we use a group policy preference
that is set to run one time only and that works perfectly for this in IE11.
I am aware of the Administrative template GPO setting Microsoft Edge>Configure home pages, which does work to set the homepage in a enforced manner, but this does not allow users to change it.
I see many technet and other threads from 2015 with people trying to accomplish this, but none where someone actualaly found a way to do it, there seems be a set of protected registry keys don't don't allow you to change them and have it work. It seems very
odd that Edge is the latest and greatest Microsoft browser but that it lacks so many basic management features for customization.
Now that is is 2017 is anyone aware of a way to configure this in Edge using group policy preferences, registry keys, scripts etc? Anything that can be automated for a large number of Windows 10 systems?

I only want one account and I'd prefer not to have to log in every time I start the PC.

Any help is appreciated.

A:[resolved] How To Eliminate Users?

try this,

restart in safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly while the computer is booting up. then when your at the menu select safe mode. then when in safe mode there should be an acc called Administrator or something, select that one and then log in. You then go to control panel> user accounts > delete the accounts you want and presto, there should only be the right amount of accounts that u want.

also, if you dont wish to have 2 log in then do not put a password on the account.

Microsoft Edge is the rebranding / reworked IE for Win/10 but . . .

Users and companies that cannot load their websites or apps because of the new engine -- can always turn back to Internet Explorer, which won?t be pinned to the taskbar, but will instead be available in the Start menu.Click to expand...

hmm; Incompatibility and security issues are why many left IE in the first place. Users of Firefox, Opera and Chrome have no (or few) compatibility issues so why step back into the fire???

A:Will you opt for Microsoft Edge?

I read about this a while back (when Edge (the name) was first announced). Has something changed since then? I thought the part you quoted is for those terrible businesses that have websites that require IE to work. I think Edge is a lot more cool with web standards than IE (especially older IEs) and Microsoft is basically saying if there is some site that requires IE to work properly, you will still have IE to fall back on to.

My Microsoft edge program tries to open then closes?

A:Microsoft Edge

Edge is a "work-in-progress", or if you want to be really honest it is Beta software that MS are getting users to test.

You may want to stay with IE or Firefox until Edge grows up and becomes a mature product.
