Thinkpad X1 Carbon 6th Gen - iTunes resumes music by itself, input focus stolen - automatic input?

Q: Thinkpad X1 Carbon 6th Gen - iTunes resumes music by itself, input focus stolen - automatic input?

Really having some wonk issues with these last two Lenovo products I've bought. It's nuts. Latest weird thing that's happening seems to be some sort of unintended input. Occasionally, I've had the focus repeatedly stolen from an input field I was typing in. I have to click on the field several times, only to have it taken away again, like the mouse is clicking elsewhere. (I've been having issues with clicking things accidentally firing double-clicks--maybe my mouse buttons are faulty? Both the X1E I returned and this X1C have done that.) The other strange thing that's happening is that in iTunes, if I pause my music, it will resume itself 5 seconds later, like the play button some keyboards have was pressed. But this keyboard doesn't even have that, as far as I can tell. It feels like my computer is inventing input. It's maddening. Any clues? My opinion of Lenovo products has sharply dropped these last couple months.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

An application might manage to do this for itself but it would be a serious violation of good programming principles and STRONGLY discouraged. For a use to set that up, no way. That is contrary to the way Windows has been designed since the beginning.

Anyone know how to prevent Windows from bringing the window with the input focus to the front of the screen? It's most annoying!

Consider the following example:

I have a screen shot of a WEP key that I want to type into my Network Settings but everytime I click the input focus into the network settings window it comes to the front and I can't see the WEP key any more!

The basic problem is that Windows always brings the window with the input focus to the front regardless of where you want it. This results in the need to drag windows alll over the place and resize them to see both at the same time.

Other operating systems don't do this!

Surely there must be a way of turning it off in 'Doze?

Thanks for your replies

when I use Korea IME then I focus on input box IE browser to increase memory
it occurs only on Window7 IE11.
My HTML page has 10M byte JS library which is made by me.
I know I have to check my JS library so I fixed as much as I know through seaching the internet.
but I couldn't figure out the reason for increasing memory. if I refresh one time after focus to input box with Korea IME mode on my library it's increased 9M byte memory.
eventhough I tested without my library, it increases the memory in IE browser. if you toggle comment as sample code it will have much increase in memory
you can test using the  sample code. so I doubt that it could be IE browser bug.
Do you have any idea about this issue?

Before I did a clean Windows 7 install and update to SP1 everything worked fine, so this problem is new.

I'm using VMware Workstation and I can't get the VM to grab my mouse input when I click on the window or press ctrl+g. If I manually add the mouse or keyboard as a device to the VM it works fine but not if I click on the VM window (which is what i really need). This started after I formatted my computer and re-installed Windows 7 with SP1 updates so it might be the SP1 updates which broke it..

I'm running Ubuntu inside Windows 7.

Any ideas?

I have a Dell D610 laptop w/ XP Pro SP2... or had.

I have a corrupted registry entry hosing the keyboard input. The mouse works fine up until the point when I kit the first key on the keyboard when under the Graphical Windows interface. After I hit any key, the mouse freezes as well. This happens if I use the laptop keyboard or an external keyboard connected to a PS2 jack.

I have performed hours of troubleshooting and it is not the keyboard hardware. Keyboard input works during all non-graphical UI (BIOS, Recovery Console, etc.). I even removed the drive and plugged it in to another computer. I made a copy of the WINNT\system32\config files (sam, default, security, system, software) and replaced them w/ a copy of these files from WINNT\repair. The computer boots to Graphical Windows and I am able to type in this session just fine.

How can I "erase" the keyboard driver corruption in the registry (or perhaps a corrupted driver file or set of files)? The problem is that I can't boot the system to a point where I can edit the "corrupted" keyboard entries. I can't use the Recovery Console because I don't have the Administrator password. So I tried to install SP3 from a bootable CD. The minute it asks me to type in the Product Key (a graphical dialog box), input is frozen a the first keystroke (even a key like Caps Lock). Can I actually edit the registry that resides on the boot drive while it is connected to another computer? Any other suggest... Read more

A:NO INPUT SUPPORTED--Desktop Computer Stuck On Input Not Supp...

Hi there @145755, I hope you find your Support Forum experience a positive one!  It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.  I understand that you have changed a setting on your computer and now the display is not working.  I am happy to give you a hand with this. Please post the full product number for your computer. See the following, if you need help with that information.  HP Desktop PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number, Serial Number or Product Number? I would suggest you try to start your computer in Safe mode to load basic screen settings. See this document: HP PCs - Windows Safe Mode (Windows 10, 8). As you are unable to see the display properly at this time you will need to follow the process described for "Entering Safe Mode without access to Startup Settings".  If you are able to get in, then make the needed adjustments to your display settings, then restart your system normally to see if the display will come up properly. If not try a different screen resolution. Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

Sorry for the silly question, but I am really lost with Windows 8. Did a quick search, but nothing came up (Keyword will only result in how to set input in Win8, not the problem presented here).
Here is the issue.

The short version of the question is how do I move the #@#[email protected]%$#^%$ (display gibberish somehow, boxed in red below) input method above Microsoft Pinyin, while keeping English as my default Display language and Input language.
Longer version here:
I use English and Chinese input, but the default MS Chinese input is "inconvenient", so I installed another input software for Chinese input (the gibberish above, or lets call it method ABCD).
The order I want is English as my default Input method and display, while ABCD as my default Chinese input (when I hit Alt + Shift, should switch from English to ABCD). However, since I can't get ABCD above MS-PinYing, when I Alt+Shift it auto switch to MS-Pinyin, not ABCD (Manually switch from MS to ABCD gets annoying).
In WinXp/Win7 I only need to manually switch to ABCD once, and the system remembers it, but Win8 for some reason automotcally load the language list on every start up =/
Also in WinXp/Win7, I can delete MS-PinYin while keeping ABCD (so I only have English and ABCD), but Win8 doesn't allow me to do that as I must have MS-input or the second line (highlight in green) in language perference doesn't even appear.
There are some additional points/details.
1 - I must set Chinese as "Language for non-... Read more

I have an A530 that will not connect when using the PC input, but the HDMI out port works fine.  So I attempted to connect to an external monitor and it worked.  So I know the actual HDD is working and that the computer is running properly. I then took an HDMI cable and ran it from the HDMI out port to the HDMI in port and the screen is now receiving the signal from the PC. So now I know both the PC and the A530 screen are working. The PC is out of warranty. Any idea why this is happening?  I currently have an HDMI cable connecting the in/out ports and the computer works, but I'd like to go back to it just using the pc and have an available HDMI port.

Windows automatically updated last night before shutting down. When I turned on the computer this morning, the HP w2207h monitor was not functioning properly. Each time I rebooted, I received the message "HDMI Input: No Input Signal" before the monitor went to sleep.

I do not believe it is a problem with the sleep and display settings as I have dual monitors and the EN9910 is functioning properly; both are set to NEVER anyway. Further, I have plugged our SONY television into the HDMI port and it works just fine.

I have also plugged the monitor into another computer, using the same cable, and both worked just fine. The hp monitor also functions in the utility mode. Problem seems to exist only when Starting Windows.

This has happened once before with a Windows Update, but I don't recall the solution.

Please help.

But mate I also think you may have answered it yourself in another way. Can you remember when this started happening? If so system restore back to before that date.

Then it is just a matter of downloading any updates if this is what is - one or two at a time until you find which one is the culprit. Make a not of that one and each time it comes up untick it to download / install.

We have purchased 4 X1 Carbons now in the last 2 weeks. We've owned nearly at least one of each generation of X1. 6th Generation X1 CarbonProduct Number: 20KH002QUS - Touch Screen, 512GB m.2, 8GB RAMWindows 10 Pro What we have found is that the laptop stops responding to input. As in the external mouse (bluetooth or usb) stops working, the touchpad stops working and the touchscreen stops working. Sometimes the nib will allow us move around, but we can't click on anything. In all these cases, we can use the keyboard to navigate to the shut down, but the laptop will not shut all the way down. It goes to the black screen but never fully cycles down. You have to hold the power button till it's off. After that, it works again. It's hard to replicate, but it's happened on all 4 laptops. It's happened under BIOS N23ET33W (1.08) as well as N23ET37W (1.12).  Firstly, has anyone else encoutnered this issue? Secondly, were you able to fix this? I've tried resetting Windows to no avail.

If you have an HDMI OUTPUT on your PC, on many you have to manually set the HDMI on the Video card as the default playback device, rather than the usual "speakers". Go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound Panel and on the Playback you will probably have an icon for the HDMI, select that as the default playback device and you should get the PC audio in the HDMI signal.

Has any one modified a Power Suply to Take 12 volt DC Input?

I would very much like to hear from you, or any one you may of heard of that has done this.

I wanted to Put a desktop case etc. in my car and use it to listen to music...

Thanks to anyone who replies...

A:DC Input Power Supply (12 volt input)

A standard Computer PSU rectifies the incoming mains (120 or 240 volt) and the "chops" it in a switchmode type power conversion.

Therefore as it starts with a high DC voltage (120 or 240 V AC rectified to DC) there is no easy conversion to make it use 12 V instead. Without a complete rebuild and redesign of the PSU.

By far the cheapest and easiest way is to use an off-the-shelf 12 V inverter that converts 12V to 120 or 240 V AC, and then you dont need to bother rebuilding the power supply from scratch.

Has the advantage of easily sourced power supply units for the PC. You would likely get away with a small 200 Watt unit.

I have an HP Pavilion A6421.uk computer with an HP w2007v monitor. (The OS is Windows Vista).I've been getting the message "VGA Input - No Input Signal" and the monitor appears to be in sleep mode permanently. I've checked all the connections, cables etc and I have also connected the monitor to an old computer, where it worked fine. I'm guessing I need a new graphics card but don't know how to go about changing it. I have
opened up the box and cleaned it all out, but am not sure what to do now.

Could I take out the graphics card from the old computer and put it in the new one? The old computer is a Dell Dimension 5000 (Windows XP).
Or would it be an option to swap hard drives? (I urgently need to access my work but the old computer got a virus and doesn't work properly).I don't know the first thing about hardware really, so wondered what any of you would recommend I do:
1. Just buy a new graphics card and replace the old one - in which case, what would I buy?
2. Put the graphics card from the old machine into the new one. How do I do this and does anyone have any diagrams?
3. Swap the hard drives so that I use the old box with the new monitor. (this is probably a stupid idea, but who knows).

Please help!!

I've been fiddling with this on and off for months, but I don't  know if the problem is with the touchscreen, Windows 10, the drivers, my software, or some combination of those, so none of my troubleshooting has really gotten me anywhere. I bought the Flex 5 and the active pen intending to use the touch screen like a Cintiq monitor, in addition to the Huion graphics tablet I already own, but any pen input just reacts like touch input, making imposible to work comfortably in any painting/animation programs. I also can't figure out a setup that will let me use the active pen and my tablet at the same time; Huion and Wacom drivers don't seem to play nice with each other, so I can't have them both installed at once if I want either of them to be recognized in my software and have pressure sensitivity. I have turned off "tablet mode" in Settings, and in the Control Panel I've disabled "Flicks" and "press-and-hold to right-click". Regardless, using either the active pen or my tablet (which doesn't even interact with the touch screen) will make my computer react like I'm using my finger -- same visual feedback, press-and-hold still right-clicks, dragging with the pen will scroll around the webpage/canvas, etc. Depending on the software I'm using and which drivers are currently installed I can sometimes draw and get pressure sensitivity, but I'll still keep accidentally triggering touch commands with the pen that interrupt my work flow. Even if it's at the cost of touc... Hi all! I'm an italian IT administrator just bought a Thinkpad P52 two weeks ago. My OS is Windows 10 v. 1803. My audio have a significant delay in the time it takes for sound to come out of the speakers and headphones after it is initiated by the PC. This lag, once noticed, becomes incredibly annoying and can be a constant source of stress and irritation. The problem is especially noticeable when the sound card hasn?t been ?warmed up? and a sound (such as that triggered by an alert) is played after some silence, in which case it can take almost a full second for the sound to be played. In case of youtube videos the audio starts after some seconds of delay of video but starts in sync with the video (so tremendly annoying!).I Tried a lot of drivers, from suggested lenovo driver that I downloaded from support.lenovo to vanilla realtek R2.82 that fix the problem but suddenly crash and no audio is listen as long as I have to reinstall that driver (reboot doesn't fix the problem).How can I fix that annoying problem? It can be an hardware problem? I can not stand that anymore.I also noticed that pointer movement with one finger or scrolls with two fingers sometimes lag on input through touchpad while the CPU is in IDLE. In case of scrolling, if I scroll with one finger when I click in the vertical scrollbar there's no lag input. I was not with the battery, my laptop was charging when I had these behaviors.Thanks for any help.

USB, even USB3 was never meant for transferring large amount of data needed for HD video, too much conversion has to be made. Laptops are limited by number and type of outputs but desktops can accommodate multiple video cards and even basic cards with Display port that use power of existing GPUs to provide video signal to more monitors or TVs.

Okay guys, found a solution, the best I could with my limited knowledge.

dim wonky as double
userinput=inputbox (" xxxxxxx")
if userinput="" then exit sub

this then finds sums in a col like 99.99 which if the input is normal or currency or whatever
does not work in my program. Perhaps there is another dim function that can be used
that does not require all the above

You can't transfer non purchased music to iTunes from your iphone, you will have to import it from another source. For the music purchased from the iTunes store there are two ways to do it. The easiest is to authorize the computer in iTunes and redownload the purchased items. Here's a link that explains both options. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201267 .

Everytime I turn on my laptop and login into Windows desktop, the laptop is almost for 10-15 minutes unusable because something (updates?) is constantly spawning invisible 1px windows that steal input focus. It's something related to Vantage and .net (I can tell because  who did it didn't even bother to change icon). Anyone have solution for this that doesn't involve removing Vantage (I wan't my battery bar and hotkeys working). This makes me always super angry, imagine you come to meeting with someone, you have like 30 minutes in the airport lounge, you put out and turn on your $2000 shiny business class laptop and end up being laughed at because you are able to fire up Chrome but not able to type in URL address properly because every second letter goes to this  invisible .net window that reappears for first 10 minutes after boot, also when steals input focus you don't notice and type in and it makes *ding* *ding*. These laptops have 16G of RAM, super fast SSDs and can boot in blink of eye, but then everything is destroyed by such unprofessional creation - a hot-sewed .net application made by underpaid  slave-contractor who cannot write proper background app that doesn't steal input focus from any app you can have running in seconds after boot. so I want to write a test that will ask the user to input an int, and then output it to DOS in java.

how do I do this? I use I/O to do it right?

is it something like:

import java.io.*;
class test
public void BufferedReader(Reader in)
BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader());

I'm reading the java docs, but this is all I can come up with. am I even close?? buffered Reader is what asks for the input rigt? how do I make it come out?

help help. just a simple concept.
if not buffered reader? what do I use, and how?

I have a TCL 55 inch 4k smart tv (55s401 series) and there is a massive input lag from my computer to tv. I've put it into gaming mode but that only changed it's slightly, I've also turned off features and nothing really helps.

I have checked my graphics card on my computer and it does support 4k output, HDMI cord is good at least to my knowledge. My question is if you've experienced this problem how did you end up fixing it or if anyone has any knowledge of how to fix it please let me know I've tried everything I could think of.

My computer only has one microphone input in the back of it (it does not have any "line in" inputs or anything). Recently, I tried to plug an external amplifier into that microphone input (i know you aren't supposed to do that). And now since then, my microphone will not work properly. I can hear very faint mic audio coming out of only my left speaker, but it is not being recognized in any recording programs. And also, what little volume I have is being controlled by the "line in" slider in volume control. I don't understand this as I don't even have a "line in" input. I have spoken to numerous "experts" through compaq's site, but I am convinced that I know more about computers than they do. I have tried every simple method possible. In other words, no, my microphone is not muted, yes it is plugged it. Also I have uninstalled and reinstalled multimedia on my computer as well as my ESS Allegro sound drive. Is there any other more "complicated" solution that someone out there knows how to help me with this???? by plugging in this external amplifier, did i switch something over that needs to be switched back???? please someone help me, i am going insane. lol.. thank oyu so much if you help me.

Can you expand on "plug an external amplifier into that microphone input"?

I suspect though you have fried the mic input and the volume you get on "line in" is just crosstalk. Solution - new sound card.

I need your help, please.

I currently have Vista on a recently purchased desktop computer at home running 64 bit -- whatever that means. Not too long after getting the computer I set-up some strict parental controls on the system -- I have two teenage boys. Of course, to do that I needed to set a password on the system. Well, long story short, I forgot the password which has now wrecked havoc on us since my wife and I cannot access many harmless websites -- stupid Vista, stupid me. I've done all the work-arounds and suggestions that every Vista expert has told me to do to fix the problems and it still doesn't work. I've spent a lot of time on the internet (on my laptop) seeking help with no resolve. Now, everyone is telling me I need to reinstall Vista to fix it and have been meaning to do that until I heard all the good things about Windows 7.

My question is, if I install the Windows 7 up-grade (after backing up everything I can) on this computer, will the system still be password protected to the hilt or will the the up-grade remove the password protection set-up?

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Additional question: If I wipe the computer by deleting Vista and purchase the Windows 7 upgrade, will the computer accept the upgrade and install it, or will it balk and tell me that I need the full version of Windows 7?

A:Need input, please.

All I've ever know for antivirus is Norton, whether thats a good thing or bad. A friend brought in her daughters Laptop, and said it was running very sluggish. I ran Ewido on it, and it fixed over 230 infections.

For an antivirus client they use a product from http://pcsecurityshield.com/ called "The Shield". According to their site, The Shield Delux protects against virus's and spyware.

After running Ewido and letting it do it's thing, I ran an update on her AV client.

My question to the group is, Are all AV equal. I know you usually get what you pay for whether it's clothes, cars, or AV clients...

The mom told me that if I didn't think this client was good enough, then I should un-install it, and order what I feel is a good client.

If I'm not mistaken, Symantec, has a product that checks for virus's and spyware. Thinking of going that route.

Any suggestions.

I have 9 worksheets that have the formula, =IF(C55>10000,"SR","NSR") in cell K55. The user has the capability to change 10000 to a different number. What I would like to do is have an input box for the user to key in the “new number” and then this new formula will copy to the other worksheets.

I’ve tried the code below to accomplish the first part but I keep getting the error “Type Mismatch”.

Private Sub Newnumber()
Dim i As Integer
Set mynum = Application.InputBox( _
prompt:="Key in Points", Type:=1)
Range("K55").Formula = "=IF(C55>i,""SR"",""NSR"")"
End Sub
Your help is GREATLY appreciated

I have a Dell XPS 8700 win 8.1 and was trying to install a usb 3.0 video grabber device (Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle). It turned out the new windows 8 usb driver stack doesn't support this, so I tried to force install the old Windows 7 Intel usb 3.0 driver (disabling driver signing and hacking the .inf files), but alas! the computer now gets no usb input meaning I have no means of controlling it. I'm stuck at the wallpaper before logon. Any ideas how I can get back in and revert the driver?

Thanks in advance,

A:No usb input

in the device manager click on view at the top and in the dropdown
show hidden devices
then uninstall all listed usb items
turn the computer off
unplug usb plugs
reboot twice
replug in the usb plugs

if this gets you back to normal in win8

go into the properties of Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle)

and try running in win7 compatability mode

Ok guys. Problem. On my HP, stock HP monitor, it shows no vga input. I have an nvidia 9500gt, bought it like a year or two ago. I just recently put my pc back up, got windows 7, etc. A few days ago i got the memory_management bsod. So i was like what the hell? Kept getting it, even in safe mode. Deleted a virus, still came back. So here's what i did. reseated ram, reseated cmos battery, power cleaned the computer, tested the dvi port, tested it on two monitors one including my tv. I am totally stumped. I dont want it to be a bad gfx card cuz then thats plus or minus 300 $ i dont have to shell out at the moment. ever since i bought the card, when i would start up my pc the gfx card would make a weird kinda "groaning" noise that was really loud. just today when i cleaned it, and i spun the gfx card, the noise would be there. it was like the thing that spins the fan was old. I need MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR help! Someone please tell me a logical answer/solution/fix to this messed up problem. If i get pissed any more, its out to best buy to get a brand new gaming pc. ( yes i use pc to game ) thank you everyone

The one from newegg has more cache. Other than that they seem to be the same. I'd go for more cache.
