Q: How to factory reset lenovo T430 without novo button

I tried to restore it to factory state... In the bios utility which I entered by F8 and enter (if I won't tap on enter, it win7 will start normaly) there is no reset.... option. I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

There is no novo button.  You enter the BIOS by F1.  F8 gives windows startup options.  Some win8 licensed machines came with win8 and some were downgraded to win7, but all would have been activated.  F11 will restore, but it sounds like somebody installed an incorrect copy of windows, which might have overlaid the restore partition.  In that case, you will need to buy a copy of windows from Lenovo or elsewhere.

Hi jonblane1,1. May I know what Windows are you using? 2. You may try to access Lenovo System Recovery by pressing F11.3. If Step 2 does not work, you may refer to this link.

This is super bizarre but this U41-70 machine has had all swappable components changed and all I ever get is the white light on the power button flashing simultaneously with the white light on the side. This is fine, I know this normally means the Motherboard is fried etc but I noticed something bizarre. -Pressing the NOVO button brings up the NOVO Splash screen for about 3-5 seconds and then the screen goes off and it goes back to how it was-HOLDING the NOVO button brings up the splash screen and as long as it is help down (very tricky) it stays on.. I tested the limits of this by holding down the NOVO button with a paperclip and then booting into a Windows USB recovery media, installing Windows and booting into windows...but then as soon as you let go of the NOVO button it goes off... I have tried some other stuff. -removing BIOS battery-unplugging battery, holding power button to drain etc-changing settings in BIOS (While holding down the NOVO key)--Graphics Discreet/onboard etc The system clock in BIOS is continually counting up when I let go of the NOVO button and then go back in again... If anyone has experienced this problem with the strange success of the machine functioning when you hold down the NOVO button then please reach out... Thank you

Hello guys, I own a Lenovo Yoga 2 11" for two years and I hadn't met a problem with it since then. The last time I used my laptop (3 days ago) I started it with the power button normally and everything worked fine. But today, I tried to start it clicking the power button but it didn't work, tried many times and nothing. Then I clicked the Novo button and it started with the boot menu. The options "Starts Normally", "Boot Menu", "System Recovery" and etc showed up. So, I turned off my laptop and tried to turn it on again with the power button many times, but all of them failed and now it only starts with the Novo button. I would like to know if it is a confuguration problem or its a fisical problem (my power button just gone), or if Lenovo or Microsoft had dropped a update that change it or something else?. Thank you guys.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Edge 15 Model 80K9. I am running Windows 10 Creator Update.  I have always been able to boot from a USB drive by pressing the Novo Button, bringing up the Novo Button Menu, and selecting my USB drive from the options in the Boot Menu. For some reason, tonight when I press the Novo Button, the computer boots straight into Windows 10. Does anyone know how I can get the Novo Button to bring up the Novo Button Menu as it has always done in the past? I appreciate your help.

A:Novo Button not bringing up Novo Button Menu

Silly question, but are you sure that you computer is completely powered off when you are pressing the NOVO button, and not just resuming from hibernation?     Make sure to do a complete shutdown from within Windows (preferred) or press and hold the power button till the system turns off, and then try the NOVO button again. On some systems, pressing F12 or Fn + F12 (and F11) at startup will get you to the boot options. Good Luck,

I've got a Lenovo Y700 that wont turn on via the power button. When this issue started, it seemed Ias if the machine was dead, packed away the laptop, but one random day, I press the button and it turns on! I decide to remove some dust, apply new cooling paste and screw the backlit on properly, and suddenly the power button does not work again!I can boot the PC by disconnecting the battery, tapping the power button, then reconnecting the battery or the power adapter. When the PC is booted, it still refuses to react to tapping the power button, but long-pressing it works, and it shuts down!!The Novo button is also unresponsive.Anyone know ANY solutions to this? I'm close to just soldering on a new power button!

From past few days whenever i am trying to start my lenovo G50-45 model 80E3 laptop it enters the novo button menu automatically and when i press the enter button for normal startup it turns on and works just fine. But after sometime of inactivity when it goes to the sleep mode it shows an error message saying "Warning!!!! boot script table is modified please contact your vendor." and then it restarts the laptop after a few seconds. I tried to reset my pc which is running on latest version of windows 10 from the windows 10 settings. But after that when i tried starting my laptop it again started entering novo button menu after displaying the lenovo logo. After staying at novo button menu for 1 sec it shuts off. Then i have to press the novo button and then it displays the novo button menu and stays there. When i press enter for normal startup it starts normally and works just fine without any lags or anything. I am not able to understand what is the problem with my laptop. Please help.

I have a Netgear DGN 2200 Router-modem that has a broken reset button. I confirmed this by opening the device itself to find the button actually missing...(I know there is supposed to be a button there because I used to have the same model at my home) There's no way I can solder anything to fix the issue internally. Unfortunately, some of my router configurations were changed by my room mate and now we are unable to log in (he accidentally changed the username and/or password) and configure the settings of my network on my computer. Is there a way I can reset the router console settings? I have everything to my disposal such as the router-modem itself and the computer that is connected to the device with an ethernet cable. My room mate tried to block certain keywords and websites that I use daily such as Google and reddit as a prank which is why I'm not able to Google this problem. You would think that if you had an ethernet cable hooked from the router to the computer you would be able to access it...

Hello all,A few months ago I started noticing that my main power on button would not work, so I couldn't start my Yoga 700 laptop. Then on, I started using the Novo button then going into the normal start up mode, since my main power button doesn't work. However, nowadays, when my computer has shut down/lost battery the Novo button doesn't display the menu screen for normal start up. The keyboard flashes and the fans start up but there is no menu screen (it's all black). So now, I have no way of starting up my computer normally. However, I do realise now that if I take out my RAM card and put it back in, the Novo menu pops up and I can go into normal start up. Is there any way of fixing this issue or do I just have to move onto another device? I'm no technical whizz, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi manojalandkar  ,

Greetings.

For the Z50-70 factory reset,

Turn off your pc and use the Novo Key (left side number 2 page 9)  to turn back on .
Novo menu would offer System Recovery , One key recovery from Initial Backup would launch factory restore that would reset everything and delete all files and programs.

It would be repartitioned with a new image just like when it came from out of the box.

Be sure that you back up things you need before doing it.
Update us how it goes.

I have a G50-80 latop which was upgraded to Win10 quite a while ago. Recently it started having trouble with hardware and software that once worked not working any longer. I decided to use the factory reset option to take the system back to Win8.1. Before doing this I uploaded the more critical of my user files to a cloud service and created a Windows system recovery image to an external SSD connecterd via USB. I also created a system recovery CD. Once I felt all was safe, I pushed the little button and began the factory reset. It worked beautifully, the system came up in Win8.1. However, the files I had uploaded to the cloud didn't fully propagate, and I needed to restore the Win10 image to get them back. After many attempts to get the Win10 upgrade to work, I was finally able to boot Win10 and restore from the system image from the SSD. I found the files and more securely saved them for later access. Now, I needed to perform one more factory reset to bring the system back to Win8.1. But, the operations to do so resulted in the system rebooting back to the Win8.1 installation. It was not able to start the factory reset. Some reading on the internet indicates that if the HD partitions are written to by software other than the Lenovo OneKey tools that any attempt to use the factory paritions to do a reset would fail with the symptoms I was seeing. Using the Win10 disk management tool, I can see that there are 6 paritions on my HD. They are called "Reco... Read more

Hi, I have a Lenovo laptop I was struggling to use several months now. It wouldn't update windows for one thing noway whatsoever and would not either upgrade for free to windows 10.Since the expiry day for free windows 10 upgrade is approaching I decided to factory reset it and complete the upgrade if it wants it or not.I guess I'll have questions during the process so I decided to register here and ask them as they will appear. So here is the first question, as I checked the reset button, it asked if I want to reset only the drive with windows or the other drives too. Such as my laptop had more than one drives, which I ignored.Where can I locate and check those drives?Tks

A:Factory reset of lenovo g40-30 windows 8

Hi assybertran ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Usual for the G40-30 model to either have a single HDD or a hybrid SSHD that holds with 8GB NAND flash memory . Physical harddrive may hold multiple drive declared as partitions.

Onekey recovery feature is a full factory reset that would be able to clear and delete everything out and restore the image the way it was when receive from out of the box which is ideal to having a fresh start for users as it deletes possibilities of infecting one drive from the others.
Data back up is definitely recommended on a different storage

To check both for availability and integrity  running diagnostics would help.  Going to the BIOS on the same Novo menu would also show physical drives available on the unit.
About the mentioned partitions , disk management would show it. Note that OKR is a hidden partition on the harddrive (highlighted links for further reference and details) .

Take time to review the procedure and back up everything needed. Run appropriate diagnostics before deciding.

Update us how things go for you.

Regards

The Novo button system recovery says "Loading files" then goes to Lenovo logo but loops back to the auto repair. I do not have a Win. 8 recovery disc or USB at hand. Is the only way to fix this is to obtain one? Thanks.

Hi,

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad E530c laptop which I need to reset to factory.

On startup. pressing F11 brings up the Lenovo recovery tool to do this, however, because the laptop is setup on a network, it says this cannot be used. It instructs me to login and use the tools within the OS.

I cannot login because the trust relationship between the laptop and server is corrupt (which I also can't fix).

Any ideas on how I can access the recovery tool, perhaps by creating a new login to use (I don't know the local admin password).

Thanks
