I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey everyone, I'm beginning to have issues with the black hingest on my laptop. It happens when I open the laptop up and you'll see on the picture (hopefully) what I'm talking about.  I tried to research this issue and found a few posts and youtube videos but it looked like the issues involved something inside of the laptop while this appears to be a bit different. Any help on how I might be able to fix this is greatly appreciated.

Hey all,  I have loose hinges and want to replace them on my t61. I red the instructions on that link: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T61-and-prior-T-series/How-to-replace-loose-broken-hinges-on-t... Just to make sure - In order to take off the lcd front bezel - it's only 5 screws and just pull it up gently all around? Is that glued or latches?  No need to get the back cover of the lcd too? Cause on HMM it seems I have to take back cover too.  Thanks in advance

Hello,I have an HP m6 that suffered from constant hinges breaking, despite getting them replaced, they break in 1 year max. Normal usage and no going outdoors I swear.I then got yesterday a Dell 5558 that im returning due to its touchpad and screen's washed colors. Now I'm here, about to get a G50-80 or a Z51, so my question is related to the G50-80 here: 1- What are the known issues? Everythin got issues, i'd rather know them before buying than after. 2- Hinges... anyone experienced or heard about problems related to them breaking and so on?  Thank you

A:Lenovo G50-80 Hinges and Known Issues?

hi,I have purchased Lenovo Laptop G50-80 on Nov 1st last year. I did face the issue. First the hinges become  tight.Even for Normal usage, the two bottom screws peeled off.  The bottom case is being pulled apart near the hinges. When I approached the Lenovo  service center , they said the whole case is to be replaced. They charge me USD 80. They said it will not be covered under warranty. In my view, they have made plastic support , instead of metal. Any justice ?

I have recently visited Lenovo service center to fix an issue with my fault keypad, as my laptop is under extended warranty a new keypad was fixed as a resolution. Service executive reported that the hinge has a problem and need to get it fixed before getting worse. After fixing the new keyboard the hinge issue became more annoying as the left hinge thread completely released and now when I re-visited the store and inquired for a fix they informed that hinge repair will not cover under warranty and forwarded a quotation for 10000 rs approx to replace the lower and upper case completely. Its hardly 2 years that I used my laptop and ran into multiple issues, before replacing the keyboard the threads are available and has a minor issue but after fixing it, threads got completely released and started making sounds, the same has been reported but there is no proper response from the executives.

Seems there are some design issues and manufacturing defect with the way Lenovo Egde 2-in 1 touch screen works. The right hinge somehow has come loose and then it forces the screens to separate. When you close the laptop it seems to aggravate the situation.  I have certainly not dropped it and mishandled it. Searching on the internet it seems to a very common issue. Wondering how should I go about getting this fixed. Does anybody have some fix and something? is there a recall? Its a fairly new laptop with good specs. See attached pictures.everything still worksClosing it seems to split the screenskeep the laptop open at all time to prevent it from falling apart. The laptop screen is seperating due to hinge issue.

I have been having an absolutely MISERABLE expereince dealing with Lenovo with this computer.  About 2 weeks ago, the left hinge on my pc notebook began sticking and with routine opening and closing, which has forced the separation of the casing from the screen.  It was under waranty until 12/28/2016.  I placed my first call on 12/27/2016 to get the process going and have gotten nothing but a runaround with each call to India I make.  Each time, I get a guarantee that I will get a call back within "3 business days" to no avail.  I am told that my case is escalated and I should expect an email from a "case manager" and should get an email within 24 hours, and NOTHING.  I have taken out an extended warratny with Lenovo based off the suggestion of my call on 12/27/16 in order to get in home assistance, and nobody want to aknowledge anything to help with this case.  Any help that anyone can provide to help expedite this process, whether it be a strategy to get someone in America to actually call me back, another number beyond the one on the website to spreak to someone "higher up," etc.  I am beyond frustrated with this case and am about done with Lenovo...

I have been using my Ideapad as both a laptop and a tablet and the hinge on the left side had started to crack and the screen is now leaning to the left. Is there any way I can fix this? I looked and it says the limited warranty I have doesn't cover this and I seem to not be able to get the Protection Plan either.

Hey there, Both hinges of my Ideapad 300-14ISK are now broken after 6 months of light use. The right one started to freeze after less than 2 months from the purchase date. It has resulted in breaking the LCD cover as a result as I opened or closed the lid. About a month later, the left hinge did the same. I can't open or close the lid at all now. I am now looking for a replacement for those hinges since I gave up on trying to resolve this with the support team although it is still in the warranty (however I bought it from outside the US. They're claiming that's why they can't help me). The Lenovo website has 2 parts for the hinges for this model but I can't understand the difference between them. First one is "5H50K14044 - HINGE L+R LIMR L300-14IBR" while the second one is "5H50K14032 - HINGE L+R L300-14IBR". I can't figure out the difference between both parts. The only difference in the name is the "LIMR" word in the description of the first one. Does anyone understand what the difference between both parts is? Thanks!

The other day I was closing my ThinkPad Yoga, and I noticed a bad-sounding crunch. I tried opening and closing it again, but there didn't seem to be a problem. But I noticed today that something definitely has happened. Now, my hinges are out of alignment with one another. The right hinge looks OK, but the left hinge looks kinked forward. This causes the screen to be lopsided when in laptop mode, but it it also noticeable when the laptop and screen is flattened out. See in the the following image how the right hinge is flat, but the left hinge is kinked up?  Is there anything that can be done about this?

I have had problems with my Thinkpad A475 and Lenovo has been troubleshooting my laptop for over a month now. They decided to come and pick up my laptop last week to run a diagnostic and they found out that the bluetooth connection problems that I had was caused by currupted Windows 10 built in my laptop. So they fixed it by installing a new Windows 10 but when I asked them what am I gonna do if I decides to reset my laptop again? Their answer is that I have to install it from a flash drive.. I am extremely disappointed that they are unwilling to replace me a new laptop when they cannot guarantee me that I can reset my laptop without using any USB drives. I do not pay 3000 in my local currency for a Thinkpad that I have to boot or reset from an USB drive in the future.  I am also very disappointed about the quality of their keyboards. When I first got it, it had a problem and then they replaced it and I had a problem again with the space key registering two times sometimes. Okay they checked it and said it had no problems but they replaced a new keyboard for me anyways. I really wonder how many problems I have ro go through again before this business laptop can be used for my business. My whole workflow has been ruined and also the reputation of Thinkpad and Lenovo customer service as well. I am just doomed from the moment I bought this laptop. We have purchased over 20 Lenovo E470 laptops.  These laptops come with TPM 2.0 on them, I simply asked Lenovo to either provide me the software to downgrade the TPM from 2.0 to 1.2 and I was told that was going to cost extra money, so instead they had me send the laptop back so they could downgrade the system.  This was in the beggining of January, I got the laptop back at the end of January with NOTHING changed. My Yoga 910 has BSOD twice in the last six days. All drivers up-to-date, Windows up-to-date, no new software installed, etc. Initiated chat with Lenovo Customer Support on Tuesday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. They were of no help and "escalated" my case to Upper Management, and they would call me back within 1-2 hours.Waited the rest of the afternoon to make sure I was close by the machine... no call. Today, a full 48 hours later they call, and of course, I was in a meeting and could not pick up. I called back and the customer service rep again could not help me so she had to "escalate" my case to Upper Management (sound familiar?) and they will call me back within 3 days. Uh, what? So it may take 5 days before I can receive help with my machine's issue? C'mon Lenovo. This machine is less than 6-months-old and I have even upgraded the warranty to the 3-year on-site plan. I guess I should be thankful. At least when it BS's I can do a hard boot and bring it back.

That is exactly what I was told by one of the tech support assistance. My wife's chrome book has given up the ghost and was sent for repair over two weeks ago. Finally I receive an email from a third party company looking for 460 to repair a chrome book worth about 200! They rely on that age-old claim of liquid ingress! My wife is a middle-aged secretary and not prone to giving her laptop a drink. The chrome book is only 10 months old and I thought Lenovo were going to repair it but clearly they have some other shady company that they farm the repairs out to. I just can't believe that Lenovo has such little regard for its customers that it would allow this to happen. If there is a customer support function within Lenovo, please would you contact me and I will give you the details of this matter and hopefully you can help me. This device is still in guarantee and you should not try to avoid the guarantee by behaving like this.

I am also so frustrated with the lack of responsive customer service.  I have a new laptop (August 2018) and purchased the 3 Year Onsite Upgrade and am looking for a complete refund after encountering the worst customer service experience for a failed battery.  The actual service provider on this contract has been quite disappointing in lack of responsiveness or representatives without authority to do anything!  And try to reach someone at lenovo.  I have spent literally hours trying to get to the right person.  Maybe  through social media I can. Basically - how do I get a complete refund for the service contract?

Nearly six weeks my P52 has been out for repair & every time I call they say the same thing.  They claim they're waiting on a motherboard to come in from China.  Given that I could purchase a brand new P52 & have it shipped to me in a few days it's unbelievable that Lenovo's own repair centers still can't get a replacement board!  This is absurd for what I thought was a business class machine.  I've already had to purchase another laptop since I cannot do my work without a capable machine & I spent a few hundred more & bought a Dell mobile workstation like I should have the first time.  Never again will I buy a Lenovo product, it's obvious to me they only care about selling computers & have no clue how to support them.

Hello everyone! I'd like to tell about an issue with a laptop and seek your advice on the problem I have. I will start from the beginning in order to present the whole situation. In 2015, on the 16th of August, I purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad Y7070 laptop from Russian vendor. I also live in Russia (St. Petesburg), so I tried to get support there. After a little while, a registered at Lenovo Support site and found out that my laptop is covered by warranty that ends on 2017-03-18. I though that was good to know and went on to using a laptop. Everything was good and fine until one day in November, 2016 I opened a lid of a laptop and it went with a loud cracking sound ? the hinges were torn out of the body of a laptop and it seemed like plastic that held the whole thing together was broken. There were no prior issues with a device, so I wrote an e-mail to the vendor I bought it at, described the issue and they replied that that is not of their concern what Lenovo Support site says and that their warranty was only 1 year and it ended on 2016-08-17. Okay, I thought, and went to Lenovo Support site again to find service providers in St. Petersburg. I found one and took a laptop there. Indeed, they said that I have to pay for repairs and they have to change both screen and bottom covers in order to fix the problem. And as they have no parts in stock, I have to wait from 1 month to indefinite time for the parts to arrive. I brought the laptop the... Read more

Hi everyone, I've run out of option so I'm posting here in the hopes that anybody can help.  On oct.14 2016 I sent my W540 for minor repairs to Lenovo (namely minijack connector and powr supply). It has a paid 4 years exended warranty with 24h on-site repair. It came back 10 days later totally unresponsive. Nov 2016 : After a series of phone calls, missed appointments, wrong part number ordered, the machine was finally repaired on-site, only to discover that during the first repair the scren had been switched from an IPS 3K to a horrendous TN FHD screen (!!). The screen was not supposed to be part of the repair. The repair didn't last anyway and the machine died again a couple days later. The rest is more of the same, repairs followed by a machine quickly becoming unresponsive. I filed a complaint, and by december I got an email offering a replacement which I agreed to. Since then I've been emailing EMEA cutomer care again and again to no avail. Last email I got was Jan. 12th. reference : Lenovo Case Number: 00952465, SN: R9011C8A Any help is appreciated, I am without  functional machine since oct 14th and can't believe this is standard for Lenovo/Thinkpad. I've been holding on buying my next machine waiting to see how this is resolved, because extended warranty is a major factor for me.

As a result, I was not able to get it repaired until recently. I dropped it off at a local lenovo-certified repair shop because I was told that that would be the quickest option. It was supposed to be an easy fix involving replacing the camera. Upon attempting that they found that the speakers were malfunctioning as well. They had to order more parts and do more repairs. I bought a brand new Lenovo Yoga 13 from a Lenovo shop in China. Windows 8 was pre-installed. In the shop, I requested (on 3 occasions) that Windows 8 be set for English. They told me that I could easily change the language settings when I got home.

However, when I got home I was unable to change the settings. After a quick google, I discovered that Windows in China is a special single-language installation named Windows 8 PRC. It is impossible to change the language.
Obviously, this is no use to me as I don?t speak China. I contacted Lenovo who passed me on to Microsoft. I contacted Microsoft who said that I had to go to Lenovo. Microsoft insisted that Lenovo could simply change the installation to a multi-language version. Here is part of the transcript from online Microsoft chat support:

?Since this is a preinstalled product or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) This was bought by the manufacturer of your computer to Microsoft and they were the one who installed it as well on your computer. The manufacturer have the capability to change the installation to all language installation.?

I have been back to Lenovo (both the original shop and the after sales service office) several times but have had no success. On my latest visit, 4 days ago, I refused to leave the shop until I received a full refund or a multi-language edition was installed. In the end (after a lot of arguing via a translator), they agreed to install the multi-language version. They said I could collec... Read more

I hate to say it, but your best bet is to download a Windows 8/8.1 iso from the Net (make sure it's multi-language/english first!), format your HDD, and then do a clean install and call MS. I have Lenovo Y50 UHD with additional warranty for 2 years including accidental damage protection. Recently that warranty has lapsed, within couple of weeks a forced windows update broke the OS completely.Windows is on preparing autotmatic repair loop forever. I tried reaching lenovo customer service - first thing obviously they ask for is serial number and as soon as they find that the warranty has lapsed they don't even spare a minute in trying to help.  Unlike laptops from other vendors it seems, there is no tool to prepare a recovery disk myself by downloading it from online. It seems only option is to order a recovery drive from Lenovo and keep hoping that they will send an appropriate one and that it goes well.
