Linksys EA6400 ethernet lights working, green light doesnt start or blink at all

Q: Linksys EA6400 ethernet lights working, green light doesnt start or blink at all

This problem ariseed in the morning, please help! I can connect to the router via ethernet (my computer recognizes it as unidentified network with a 100mbps rate), but the internet and don't work. As for wifi no networks are availible. Could my router be dead?

Preferred Solution: Linksys EA6400 ethernet lights working, green light doesnt start or blink at all

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Linksys EA6400 ethernet lights working, green light doesnt start or blink at all

Sure, it could be dead...or not. Have you rebooted the router? Pull the power and let if sit off for a minute then power it back on. You can also try resetting the router back to factory defaults, instructions here along with other info: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/GetAr...dd9133a8b_KBxxxx_EN_v1.xml&pid=80&converted=0

My Problem:

Tonight I went to turn on my PC and the machine was "dead" so to speak. No fans/drives attempting to boot up or anything, even momentarily, just a completely dead machine. In addition to the machine being "dead", I noticed that there is a green light on the motherboard that remains on when the machine is plugged in with the PSU turned on. PSU fan is not turning on either.

Things that I have done to try to fix this:
-Change the power supply.
-Bypass power button switch.
-Reset bios by removing battery. Also tried different battery.
-Remove RAM, hard disk and CD drive. No beep.

Obviously, none if this has brought my PC back to life so I am wondering what could be causing this? The PC was not moved or anything recently and no hardware / software changes of any sort have been done recently.

However!....(I dont know if this is worth mentioning or not) it might be helpful to make the following known: When PSU is connected, there is green light on motherboard.

Also, when I lift 20 pin power connection to motherboard( littel bit not compeletely), PSU fan, processor fan runs and get orange light on cabinet. Also green light on motherboard turn blinking green light. But still computer is not booting up and nothing on monitor.

What do you think could be the cause of this? Any ideas?

I have a T7500, was working perfectly until I I upgraded the CPU`s to hex core, when I try to boot, it does not get past the error. The Power Light is solid green, and lights 3 and 4 are solid, this is not a fault code listed in the manual, and have found nothing online to help. I have removed all but 2 sticks of memory and checked the pins on the CPU riser, all seem to be fine. And system works when riser is removed. Does anyone have any clues or fixes that might help me with this.
Many Thanks

The green light on my Ethernet port is always on. Even when I unplug the Ethernet cable and shut down my computer. The only way it turns off is when I unplug my computer from the outlet. Also, my computer doesn't receive any internet when an Ethernet cable is plugged in and the yellow flashing light doesn't show either. I know the Ethernet cable is fine and the internet works fine on other computers.

Any help?

At start-up I get fans (case, video card, cpu), all power supply stuff, but monitor screen does not light up, PC does not attempt to load. I get green flashing LEDs on the monitor, PC (by the start switch) and on the cd/rw. Occasionaly the red activity LED will blink for just a second. The USB hub gets a power light but does not "flash" the ports. There are no sounds at all, beeps, clicks, etc. Computer was working fine, I returned fron dinner to blank screen. I thought it had gone into hibernation or something so I moved the mouse and tapped the keyboard but to no avail. Turned it off, restarted several times with above results and now I'm back to the table of knowledge hoping you folks can save me again.

I picked up this Alienware 5700 off ebay to hopefully refurbish for my son but I'm new at this and still learning and so this thing has me baffled. The laptop is in pristine condition but shows no signs of life. When I plug in the power supply the green light on the power supply goes from solid green to blinking rapidly to the point you can barely see it. To me that would mean a short somewhere right ? If so where ? Has anyone else ever had experience with something like this ? I just don't want to go buying a new battery for a laptop that maybe fried already. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:No power, no lights but green light on power supply blinks rapidly

Remove the laptops battery and try the AC power only. If the green light does the same, it still could only be a bad AC adapter, or at worst, a shorted laptop motherboard

I shut down the computer but did not unplug it from the surge protector. We were messing with the main breaker box in the house.
When i went to turn it back on nothing. Monitor work everything and else that is plugged in to the surge protector. Took the computer apart and opened and cleaned all dust out Plugged it back in and nothing. There is a green light on the back just under the plug which is lit up (Green) as it was before I took it a part. Can't say I remember weather or not it was lit previously. Check on line and suggestions are the power supply may be bad. However I can't seam to find out if the power supply would be bad would the green light be on, which seams to be connected to the power supply box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ubearcat,The led error represents ACPI S3 Suspend to RAM Windows Standby State. Try the steps below to resolve.Changing the power management options in the operating systemSometimes just changing the software settings in the operating system power options will fix the issue. Access to the power options in Windows can be done through the Control Panel. Depending on your version and view by settings, you may or may not see a power option link. In that case, look for power options under the hardware category. Once there, create a new plan or modify an existing plan, changing the advanced settings as needed. If changing the operating systems power options does not fix the problem, you can try changing the APCI setting to the computers Basic Input/Output System (BIOS).  Once there, you need to look for Power Management Options. There you will find the different ACPI standby states.

My daughter's college laptop has to be cleaned up a little. It seems to hang at bootup and show a light green screen for the longest time. Then it will eventually show her desktop. Then it takes forever to allow her to click on anything to start.

A:No Internet Connection/Ethernet Port Lights are not working

Well; even with surge protectors; it is possible the ethernet card took a minor hit. But one thing you could try is to completely uninstall the ethernet adapter from the device manager, reboot, and let windows re-detect it and reinstall the drivers for it; that way hopefully there will be a fresh install of the adapter. Give that a shot and see what happens.

I have an older (2004) Sony Vaio. I don't have the model number in front of me, but wondering if somebody can help me with a problem. Here's what happened:

Just bought a new video card for the computer (video card is the correct one for my computer). The computer was left on yesterday and I noticed later in the day the LCD screen was black and the keyboard and mouse lights are steadily blinking green, on and off. Tried to shut the computer down by the on/off button on the front of the computer. No go. I had to unplug the PC and I tried to fire it up and again it gave me no video and the blinking.

Please help me... before this happened, the computer worked great!!

Thank you for any help you all can give me!

Hey all! Hope there's some help around... My t5500 randomly died. Would turn on for a few seconds, without booting then turn itself off. Swapped MB out, now get 234 blinking diagnostic lights (halted before transfer to BIOS control, and the fans slowly get louder.). This is with three different motherboards, two different cpus, two GPUs, two power supplies. If the BIOS isn't being transferred to, could it be corrupted? Is there a way to flash a new BIOS externally myself? This was such a great tower, and I'd rather keep it running than replace. 6x2gig RAM. First gen MB with fans on both bridges. Also I turned off the computer holding the button unfortunately. I pulled the plug out and held the power button for 30 seconds to drain the on board battery. When I turned it back on I had no luck both the keyboard and mouse were not working and the Ethernet light is still off. So today I was just watching a YouTube video, not gaming, not doing anything too intensive. Suddenly my computer shuts off with the power button blinking green. No BSOD, just powered off and won't turn back on. I tried unplugging the power cable and holding down the power button for 30 secs with no luck. My computer is pretty hot idle at 60 degrees Celsius. But it's been this way for years with no problem. Could something overheating just by watching a YouTube video? When a CPU overheats it goes into blue screen right? So it can't be my CPU. I have a cooler master PSU. CM is a trusted brand. And I also have an MSI motherboard.

A:Computer randomly turns off with green blinking green light on power

Doesn't necessarily mean the screen will blue out because of heat problems mate run the BIOS and post back the readings for the CPU temp (seems a tad high to me for idle) and the CPU fan speed.

The other thing to do is check out the PSU as well via these
PSU - Jump Start

but try the BIOS first and if you do the PSU stuff DO NOT attempt to open the device itself you just need to measure the volts on the leads. However volts does not necssarity mean enough current (amps)

Hello to everyone, i got this problem one day ago, and i spended some time searching for fix but nothing seems to work for me.

So i decided to take router, and connect it to that port. Then i connected my laptop to that router. Now i have internet. Also if i enable wifi from that router i can have working connection.
So to understand me right it is like this:

Port(in the wall in my room)-Cable to my laptop >>not working (worked before)

This doesnt happen only in my room here in campus it happens to me in all rooms, also it happens in library. The thing is i cant carry that router all the time with me so i need to fix this to work troughout my day properly.

Also to connect to campus internet i need to use proxy, which is all set up like before but ethernet doesnt work.

Hi I've had the Dell XPS 8700 for over a year now and it's an excellent Desktop.
I've recently moved my tower to a new location and notice there is a solid orange light on all the time inside the PC, I believe it's on the motherboard... should I be worried this is on all the time? It's just I've never noticed it before.
Also on the back of the PC there is a solid green light, I'm guessing this is to just tell me the PC has Power.
I tried a google search but everyone with the orange light seems to have PC issues, my pc is working fine as far as I can tell.

A:Dell XPS 8700 Orange Light inside and Green Light on Back

LED on the motherboard will be on as long as the PC is plugged into a working outlet. It's perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.
If you unplug the PC from the wall and press/hold the power button for ~15 sec, that LED will go off. Again, perfectly normal...
Green LED says there's power to the PSU.

why does it not work now as it did before i tried to setup the GFX card again. It

acts like the graphics card is still in there shorting it out or something.

fter connecting the AC power supply to CPU and on pressing start button , CPU light does not blink spontaneously ,It took 3 to 5 minutes to start blinking and window start immediately as light start blinking on start button .Reliability report does not show any error.Pl suggest me some remedial action

A:CPU light does not blink spontaneously

Ehm, CPU is "central processing unit", a computer component. It does not have a light linked to its operation. If by CPU you mean the whole machine, call it "computer".

If that led is close to a symbol that resembles a lightbulb, then it's the power led, and tells if your computer is actually getting power or not. It should go on when you press the power switch and remain on until you shut down the computer.
If it is close to a cylinder symbol, it is the memory usage led, and tells if your computer is reading from its main internal memory device. It does blink randomly when in normal operation and if you don't experience other issues you can safely disregard it.

Other leds can indicate the wifi connection or whatever the maufacturer thought to place there, if it's not one of the above, try to describe it or find an image of it from google.

Please follow this tutorial to fill your system specs (step 7 to do it automatically), so we can know what is the thing you have in your hands. Without knowing more, help provided will be limited.
