Microsoft Edge: Not Responding while loading certain Websites

Q: Microsoft Edge: Not Responding while loading certain Websites

Microsoft Edge: Tab says it's not responding while loading certain Websites

Whenever I look up different things on certain websites, the tab in my Edge browser says it's not responding while loading the page.

This site (Windows 10 Forums) loads fine. But websites such as Google sites for example stops responding while loading. After it gets through loading, it finally responds.

P.S I hate to keep posting threads so much.

Thanks in advance!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I just recently got my new Thinkpad L380 Yoga. When browsing the net and visiting websites like www.outlook.com I get an error from the web browser Microsoft Edge with the following message: INET_E_REDIRECT_FAILED. It says that the redirect (OWA) has failed. It's only for certain websites. I've downloaded Firefox and Chrome and tried and they seem to work fine. Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge does not. I've tried everything from reseting, removing, reinstalling, turning of firewall temporarily, making sure everything is up to date, even going as far as reinstalling Windows 10 from scratch then updating it and not installing any additional software that could cause this headache. I've gone through multiple guides on Microsofts webpage. I've spoken to Microsoft support, and many many other things, and still I can't get it to work. Wondering if anbody has had any luck or have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

With the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, you can pin your favorite websites to the taskbar and have the icon show up in the taskbar for instant access.

Here?s how to get started:

Simply head to the menu, select ?Pin this page to the taskbar,? and watch the site icon appear on your Windows taskbar!

Head over here to read more about all the new features in the Fall Creators Update, and have a great week!

Edge loads to a blank screen and after 30 seconds or so disappears.
I've restored back to a restore point before the problem started and that doesn't work either.
I've searched for fixes and the most recommended is deleting the specific packages directory then reloading Edge using Powershell. This doesn't work.
If I go into Safe Mode without Networking I get the message "Microsoft Edge can't be opened using the built-in Administrator Client".
Any ideas please?

I apologize if this isn't the right forum, but I did not see one that is specifically for Microsoft Edge.

We have an internal Flash application at work that utilizes a self-signed certificate for HTTPS. When attempting to load the page hosting the application, only the background will load. Other than the initial warning regarding the self-signed certificate,
there are no errors logged in the browser or the application's backend. The page would load successfully prior to the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

One workaround to get the application to load is to install the self-signed certificate in Internet Explorer. After that, it works fine. My question is: does the version of Microsoft Edge that comes with the Anniversary Update have a new security
feature that prevents it from loading Flash content when a self-signed certificate is involved? If not, does anyone have any ideas as to why the content will not load unless the certificate is installed?

Since installing the November Windows 10 update (11/17/15) none of my favorites are being stored in the default Edge folder. While in Edge the favorites are available but when I go to the default folder they are not listed. Is there another location they may be being saved or has my default location somehow been changed? My AppData folder shows a creation date of 11/17/15 with no modifications being made in favorites since that date.

Hope you can help! I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, 4GB, 64bit, Intel i5, NVIDIA, Kaspersky Internet Security 15.0.2.
I primarily use IE11, but switch to Mozilla Firefox 43.0.2 when IE stops responding. My primary email is AOL which I access via web, not software. Computer often slow and hangs.

The main issue is IE11 "stops responding" several times a day. I've run the latest version of Malwarebytes (subscription), Glary Utilities Pro, Kaspersky IS, CCleaner, and Disk Cleanup. I delete browing history daily. No virus or malware shows up after scans. Recently ran a full scan on Kaspersky overnight+ and still, no viruses detected. I'm not sure what the issue is and would gladly go back to IE9 or 10 if IE11 is the issue, but I need to be sure.

Whatever guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello.

So I was playing a MMO game called Wizard101, when randomly, I disconnected from it.
I tried first to re-connect to the game, no success.

So I tried going to its website, loads very slowly, sometimes not loading at all.
Then I wanted to try go to its fansite, to ask for support there, but it turns out that the fansite isn't loading too.
I try to load a few more pages that is related to the game, but none of them will load.
However everything else seems to load just like normal.

I try to fix this with using my usuall fixes:
I tried connecting to the websites on another computer. Didn't work.
Restarted my internet + reset my router back to standard. Neither did this work.

I haven't changed any of my internet settings in a few months; so I doubt anything there would be the problem.

thanks for all help!~~

A:Websites about a game are loading slow, or not loading at all

If other websites are fine, then the most likely issue is that the website and server may be down. Nothing you can do about that.

Ive had this problem before and I know its no good. Last time however I had to format my whole computer because I didnt have any time to take it off and my internet providor forced me to format my computer or not get the internet. If it happens again they'll cut my internet permanently.

So to my Problem: Whenever I try to access Microsoft of a antivirus website (AVG, norton, malwarebytes.org, etc.), I get a a "the page cannot be viewed" message.

It was working this afternoon when I was trying to download IE6 onto my computer when it said I need to install SP3 for XP and install all these automatic updates. I however cancelled this an hour later because it was taking very long and I had time constraints. and I tried a few hours later and it didnt work.

Im running XP with SP2 and I have MBAM on my computer and also AVG but I dont think its working properly (i.e. it doesnt come up on the system tray)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone
We have some issues with languages and Windows 10.
IE/Edge cannot access the language list, so some websites are shown in English. But we have different locations over the world where they need different languages.
We have discovered above setting 'General - Privacy - let websites provide locally relevant content by accessing my language list' On/Off
So we turn it on, and it seems to work. Websites are shown in a different language than English.
Once the user restarts the PC, the setting is still shown as 'enabled', but it doesn't seem to work anymore.
Now the interesting thing:
even though we switch the setting to disable this time, it starts to work again.
Again, we do a restart.
Setting stops working. Once we enable it again, it also works again.
It seems , after every restart the setting gets lost, even though, on the GUI it shows ON.
For me it seems to be a bug with Windows 10. We have tested it on Version 1703, 1709 and Version 1803, same result.
We also used following website to test it:
https://aruljohn.com/language.php

I have an odd problem. I restarted my desktop computer this morning, and something has gotten completely messed up since. Going to any website just loads a white blank page, or a page with no graphics and all test, and the structure of the website is completely messed up, like it didn't load completely. I know it's not my network because my laptop loads everything just fine, and I know it's not browser specific as I'm having the same problem with 3 different browsers. I've reset my modem, router, restarted the computer again, did a system restore from a couple days ago, and still the problem persists. Any ideas?

Just completed a clean install on a Lenovo Via Nano-based netbook (blow, fan, blow...) prevously running Win7, activated using previous credentials via the genuineticket.xml method. The ISO source is the same one that I have used on several other machines without problems.

After installing the OEM (Win7) drivers and going online to activate, I launched Edge to download Classic Shell. It started up with two tabs - one MSN, the other the "Start" tab. Each lingered for a few seconds, and then displayed the canned "this page is having a problem loading". Each tab then closes and the browser shuts down. Even using Edge as a PDF reader produces the same scenario.

Internet Explorer functions normally, and so I set it to the default browser for now.

Possible solutions I have tried, gleaned from various net searches, without resolution:

Its an Active X or pop-up security problem, try holding down the control key while loading those sites.

Hello everybody,

I am experiencing a weird issue in Edge with Flash enabled. If I try to load any page that has Flash content, Edge tries to reload the page twice and afterwards it gives me the following error message:

This page is having a problem loading

We tried to load this page for you a few times, but there is still a problem with this site. We know you have better things to do than to watch this page reload over and over again so try coming back to this page later.

A:Edge + Flash enabled = This page is having a problem loading

I take it you have the following settings in Advanced Settings for Edge:

I am able to open the page you linked to without any problems using these settings and see the bouncing cube.

With your Flash setting OFF do you see the bouncing flash cube? If I turn my flash setting OFF it stops this working for me which is as it should do.

Hello, I had a Microsoft tech remotely access my computer for a request I had about Word. I had several tabs opened and the tech went to close them and when the dialog box appeared stating Do you want to close all tabs, the tech did NOT check the box Close
All Tabs. Now when I have several tabs opened in Edge, and I X out of them, I do get the dialog box that states Do you want to close all tabs. I select the box Always close all tabs. However, every time I have several tabs opened, and I X out of Edge I am
still getting the dialog box Do you want to close all tabs. I have searched online and found a post that had information about the Registry Editor and it is missing the Dword ask to close all tabs with a value of 0. I entered that new Dword into the registry,
( I followed the instructions that were in the post, how to get to the Registry Editor, selecting this string:  Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppContainer\Storage\microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge\Main
and entered the new Dword. But I still get a dialog box stating Do you want to close all tabs. How do I set Edge to close all tabs and not have Edge prompt me to have the repeating dialog box to appear every time I want to X out of Edge? When I shut down
my computer and power it back on every time, that Dword is no longer in the Registry. It has disappeared. I have to enter that Dword each time I turn on my compu... Read more

How do I get rid of this. I have done a full system scan & it has not gone

Looks like typical scam notice.
Run Malwarebytes and it should get rid of it.

While being online, a screen popped up with information stating that we needed to call 877-884-6922 because the computer was locked because our IP address had been compromised.

We have tried to shut down and reboot and as soon as you open Microsoft Edge, the same screen comes up, yet you can go to other Internet sites such as Facebook from the Desktop.

The URL address on the top is:  err0r-fkld-dv0f-22-0x00009898.website/index.html

Is there any suggestions or advice on whether this is for real or some type of scam and how to fix it?

There isn't one. At least not like in Internet Explorer. There is the Settings sidebar, which opens when you click the 3 dots (...) and you can pin it to the side if you want. There's also a setting in there for the Favorites bar, but there is no traditional Menu.

So my desktop was just upgraded to Windows 10, and now I seem to get MS Edge acting as my default browser.....but not all the time? It's a little confusing. I prefer Chrome as my overall browser and DuckDuckGo as my search engine. It's all so integrated/confusing to me that I'm not quite sure exactly what's what, but I do know that I do NOT want MS Edge. Can I safely just delete it?

The solution for Edge no longer saving URL's (and files) in the new Favorites folder, sorting or managing the ones that are already in the Favorites list, or manually managing the Favorites moved the ESE database is, in my opinion and from experience, - USE A DIFFERENT BROWSER. Problem solved, no more headaches, no more frustration, no more lost time, no more lost Favorites.
