##@##!! Adware:Plugin-Container.exe

Q: ##@##!! Adware:Plugin-Container.exe

i have finally found a real resort to removing this damn virus out of my system, but it will take you a whole day.
first off
These are the things you need to google.

AdwCleaner : Cleans the registry of the infection
CCleaner: Removes the Cookies and programs (use trial version pro)
Kaspersky (Anti-Virus) removes the virus infecting the pc
Malware Bytes: "As Described program to cover more basis to remove it"
then finally Junk Removal Tool.

But follow each program in these steps.
"Anti-virus: use first a latest virus protection program (Not Nortons: Back door into windows)"
CCleaner: Clean all your windows background applications and cache
Malware Bytes
Junk Removal Tool.

i should say your computer will be clean of this peice of s### infection.

but the process will yet again, take all day.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

If you upgraded your FF you may/may not have problems with it's plugin-container.exe. It apparently causes crashes/lock ups of FF on some systems, slowdowns on others.

I saw some reports associated with this file, which takes up (in some instances) an inordinate amount of RAM, thus causing the browser to lock up.

Some AV/Malware programs are registering it as Malware.

On a personal note, it really does bug me that the file REQUIRES internet access (*and there is no option to bypass or disable it). If you don't allow it, some sites that require flash just won't load.

Aside from that, no problems with the new browser.

How else do you expect it to get content that resides online then? To put it into perspective, when Firefox encounters a plugin required container (object, embed) in the HTML it diverts those off to plugin-container.exe to handle and download the necessary resources it supports. So of course it needs access to the internet. It would be no different denying Firefox internet access.

I've got FF v.3.6.20 and with one tab open and the recent "plugin-container" running after a little flash player action, task manager says, between the two
they take approx. 80,000 K of RAM

Chrome v.13.0.782.112 m with one tab open is sucking up approx. 180,000 K of RAM. task mngr. also shows 5 processes named "chrome.exe"

after reading that, Chrome still loads as fast or faster than FF.

I'm not all up on what my browsers do with RAM and how/if that effects page-loading

Can someone please explain this to me?

Thanks

A:FF3 + plugin-container vs Chrome

With tabbed web browsers it's normal to have several instances of the browser running in processes. There's one for each open tab, but that does not in any way effect page-loading times. Google Chrome uses a different browser engine, and that's what makes the difference.

Firefox 3 is in any case well out of date now by several versions. The latest is v6.0 so you should consider updating it to enjoy the extra security and new features -- it's faster too.

Hi,

Recently when I use Firefox to surf on the Internet, I always have like 5-6 tabs opened. After 5-10 minutes, the browser is running very slowly and sometimes at the top bar it says (Not Responding). It is like a performance drop, changing tabs is slow, scrolling down a page is slow. I check the Task Manager it uses like 1907.23 MB of Memory and it shows 99% of Memory used.

I always have to end the Firefox process and open it again and restore my last session. It always use 150-180 MB of Memory at the first minute. But the longer I keep Firefox open, even on Minimize, my computer slows down and again it use 99% of Memory so I have to end process again. This happens over and over again. And when I check my Crash Dumps folder, I saw a lot of plugin-container dump files.

So how do I solve this issue? It's not a big deal though but I want a solution.

EDIT: Firefox is my preferred browser, I don't really like Chrome and not to mention Internet Explorer.

A:Firefox plugin-container

First, make sure you have the latest version of Firefox ie. 38.01
Next, right click on the Title, and select Menu Bar. From the Menu, click on Help->Restart With Add-Ons disabled to see if you experience the same problem.

If the problem is gone then go to Tools->Menu->Add-ons and disable all the add-ons then re-enable one by one until you experience the same problem then you might have a bad add-on.

If the the problem still persist. Tools->Options and create a SYNC account and sign-in. This will save all your Bookmarks, Add-ons etc...
then uninstall Firefox completely.

Next, download and install Firefox again then sign in to SYNC to get back all bookmarks, add-ons etc...

So I'm using the latest version of Firefox and Flash player, and for some reason the plugin-container will lock up in certain situations.

If I play quake through quakelive.com and exit a match, at any time, the plugin locks up, have to open task manager and kill the process.

If I'm on youtube, foxnews, or any other place using flash for video, and navigate away from the site, or select a different video it locks up.

Now this only happens the first time I try to leave a page or exit a game. Once I kill the process and bring the page / game up it all runs perfectly fine no matter what video I click on, new page I go to, or play 10 - 20 games.

It happens no matter how much memory the plugin is using as well. it could be 15,000kb or 235,000kb.

Not really sure how to troubleshoot a problem like this, so any advice would be welcome.

I enjoy watching Netflix, which plays perfectly well on my system. However, if I try to go back to a previous scene or skip ahead, my whole computer freezes up, with plugin-container.exe taking up 99% of CPU. I get the problem regardless of which browser I'm using -- I've tried Firefox, Chrome, and IE. This problem started very suddenly a few weeks ago. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Silverlight, but it didn't solve the problem. What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?Mod Edit: Removed pointless links - Hamluis.

hi...i know there's a way through firefox to disable the plugin container (plugin-container.exe in resources at the task manager) and keep it from gobbling up cpu resources, but i can't remember how to do it. i know you just type in something in the browser location bar and from there type in another short piece of text, and from there double-click a couple of items to take the plugin container out of contention for the cpu. does anyone here know what i need to type in at the browser location bar, and at the screen that firefox shows after that? i know what to double-click once i get there. thanks for all help.

A:[SOLVED] plugin container eating up cpu resources

Type about:config in the address bar and hit Enter.

Type dom.ipc.plugins.enabled in the Filter bar and you should see 4 entries appear as you're typing. Right-click each one of these entries and select Toggle to change their values from True to False, then restart Firefox.

(I've used this setting in Firefox 4 and 5... it works)

This has been a recurring problem with the 32-bit versions of Firefox that I've used in the past. I've now switched to the current 64-bit version (43.0) only to find that this problem is occurring.
I had been keeping the 32-bit version bug at bay using the user environment variable "MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS" but that no longer works for the 64-bit version. I've gone so far as to add "64" to the variable in several different ways but none of those worked.

Any suggestions on a fix or workaround for this?

Suggest: Clean install flash player.

Flash Player removal tool: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player...r-windows.html

Make sure you follow all steps including step 3d

Delete:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
%appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
%appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player

Confirm deletion by attempting to navigate to the above folders once they have been deleted.

Important: Step 4.1
Restart your computer before fresh installing flash player.

Other stuff you can try:

Backup your profile (bookmarks and extensions)

MozBackup - Backup tool for Firefox and Thunderbird

Uninstall Firefox and delete leftovers:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...-your-computer

Include these steps:

   Note
To remove other files and folders that may not be removed by the uninstall, you must manually delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations by default:
32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

   Note
Pess the Windows key +R to open a Run dialog, type in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\ and click OK to open the Mozilla folder, then delete the Firefox folder.
Reboot. Clean install Firefox then restore your bookmarks and extensions from the Mozbackup file that you saved.

Recently, I was given a laptop in which the OS environment is XP SP3. Since I started using the machine, there have been an untold number of problems that have occurred that seem to point to ntdll.dll {5.1.2600.5755 (xpsp_sp3_gdr.090206-1234)} and plugin-container.exe. To help you all understand the situation, I use Firefox, not IE.

It doesn't seem to matter whether or not I've installed addins to my browser. The problem is most prevalent whenever I run streaming audio which requires the Flash plugin.

SCENARIO:

After ~ 30 minutes (the length of time is never consistent) of listening to streaming audio, the browser either hangs, or crashes...sometimes, I have to end the firefox.exe process via Task Manager. Here's an example of the details logged in Event Viewer-->Application:

Go to Index page ? mozillaZine Forums ; on the right-side of the screen, in the search box for Boards, enter "plugin container crashes" (without the quotation marks) and read some of the threads, which may lead you to the solution.

My quick look at a few of those threads indicated that hardware acceleration may be the culprit; if you need help with that, do another search for that subject.

There was an amusing incident on mozillaZine recently concerning hardware acceleration: One person posted a vituperative message blaming the moderators for frequently suggesting turning off hardware acceleration on the grounds that doing that had never helped a single person.

The very next thread I read was from a person thanking the moderators: He had been told to try turning off hardware acceleration, he did so, and his problem was solved.

Hi

My problems began when I wanted to install a label printer that required .net version 3.5 or above. The Dymo install apparently automatically does this as part of the install. After some research on the Microsoft site, I ran the .net cleanup tool after the dymo install failed to install properly. Then I loaded the .net 3.5 install.

My problems are that IE, Firefox, and even Crome crash on Netflix post upgrade.

Errors in the Event Viewer indicate that Container.exe has crashed. This is random and can happen 1-5 times per hour on Netflix.

any thoughts on how to fix this would be appreciated!

A:Container.exe

You have indicated that net. Framework is automatically installed with Dymo, have you tried downloading from Microsoft? Are you getting an error message when this happens?

Can I store my backup CDs in the stack container that blank CDs come in, or is it important to store them in individual boxes or sleeves? Not sure if I'm posting this in the correct forum.

A:Can I store my Cd's in the container I bought them in?

Whichever you prefer. I store mine in a cd case with the plastic sleeves. The case has a permanent home on my computer desk. Easy access if I need them. No searching trying to find what I need.
Tip of the day-make 2 copies of all your program software and important back up disks. If one gets scratched or broken, toss it and use the other one. Then make a copy of the good one.

Is there a way to Pin an object to the taskbar that when I clicked it, it would fly out a menu of shortcuts/programs I put in there? Kind of like jump lists for specific programs except it would be a bunch of shortcuts. For work I have a variety of tools I use throughout the day (too many to just pin them all) it would be nice that I could click an object in the taskbar and have it give me a nice menu of shortcuts I specify.

I found a software package called Bins that seems like what I'm looking for, but one of their Windows 10 limitations is that it will only work on the primary screen's taskbar and not the others.

Any ideas? Free is ideal, but I would consider spending a little to get this functionality.

A:Taskbar - Is there a way to Pin a container of shortcuts?

Hello Mike, and welcome to Ten Forums.

If you like, you could also use OPTION ONE below in Windows 10 to add a folder as a new toolbar on the taskbar, and place your shortcuts in the folder.

I have no issues running my browser in Comodo container, but not all browsers may run well under Comodo container. Try to run it partially limited under container settings for your seamonkey. However, if Firefox runs fine under Comodo container it may be some specific issue with seamonkey and Comodo container.

Any of you tried the new divx 6 format? How good is the authoring program of theirs? I would like to know how comprehensive their subtitling feature most of all.

I have gazillions of divx 5 videos with pretty neato subtitling effects and animations. How do they do that? I always wondered if the subtitles are part of the frames themselves or are they overlayed on top of the frames during playback?

A few days ago I came across a video using matroska(mkv) container. It contains the divx video stream and a AAC audio stream. The difference is that you can actually switch subtitles and change the fonts and colors. I thought that was stupendous. It's clearly better than avi.

Okay so im pretty sure i have a virus i just do not know how to remove it at all! Theres an application in my task manager called "plug in container (32bit)" that keeps slowing down my PC and running at 100% Cpu.

I googled it and apparently it is linked with firefox however i do not have firefox on my computer. When i opened the folder that it was inside of and attempted to delete everything it said i could not because it was being used by "service Mgr Rollaround".

When i googled "service mgr Rollaround" that's what brought me to this site and now ive confirmed my suspicion that it is infact a virus.

It keeps modifying itself everyday and slowing my pc and i really don't know what to do because its a new PC and i feel like its taking my data or something.

I really am a "pc noob" if you want to call it that, so i really need help quick and im sorry but i do not know the information you need in order to help me remove it. If i need to post any logs or anything of that sort in order for you to be better able to evaluate my situation i am more than happy to do so; you'll just have to treat me like a child when explaining it to me!

Im not super slow when it comes to computers and i do have my whits about me online however since its a relatively new computer i've gone into a bit of a panic now i've found this virus!

Any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hello,

I am in my second year of my Software Engineering BSc and was set this problem over the summer by one of my lecturers to either solve yourself or find out how to do it if you can't, so here I am ..

The problem I have been presented with is to create a program where the user can enter what cargo they wish to load into a container, it's size (i.e. width, length, height), and how many of that type of cargo there is. The user can then specify the size of the container they wish to put this cargo into. The application must then calculate if it is possible to fit all this cargo inside the container and if it fits, how to stack the cargo inside the container.

Now I have been doing this in C++ using QT as a frontend gui for the visualizing the whole thing as well as entering the data however there are so many variables that are in play that writing an function that does this successfully is prooving to be quite difficult and was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on how to solve this problem..

This is what I have so far:

I started by creating two structures to hold both the Container Details and the Details of each bit of cargo:
Code:
struct CargoDetails { //Structure to hold container details
std::string ContainerName;
double Width, Height, Length, Weight;
int NumAmount;
} AddedCargo[100];

struct ContainerDetails { //Structure to hold container details
std::string ContainerName;
double Width, Height, Length, Weight;

I'm in the process of moving data from a WD 3TB USB drive to a larger WD 5TB USB drive, so there is a LOT of data to move around.
While this is in all probability a Truecrypt (TC) issue, it doesn't hurt to ask anyway!
I have a quad core i7 pc with Win 7 Home and 16GB RAM, which is the limit for that OS.
When I copy or move files TO the encrypted container file FROM the main pc, all is well. I can move huge files no problem. Today for example I copied a 130 Gigabye file no problem. RAM sat at around 8GB used.
When I copy or move files FROM the encrypted container on the 3TB drive TO the pc, RAM usage climbs rapidly eventually consuming all system RAM, which slows the pc to almost being unresponsive. If I keep the size of the file being moved to around 5-8GB, I can stop the pc going as unresponsive but somewhat sluggish.
The problem is that I have a LOT of files to move.
This is a one-way issue (from encrypted source to unencrypted destination) and even Truecrypt's successor of Veracrypt is getting reports of the same issue. Other Truecrypt users have reported the same issue too. It looks to be a bug, but of course TC is defunct now.I tried Veracrypt and it suffered the same problem.
I disabled caching for C: but that just made copying VERY slow and the memory usage climbed to full as before albeit slowly.
The best "solution" I have so far is to mount the TC file as removable and shutdown all non essential running programs to conserve RAM and help stability.
